Check here before asking me a question. If its in here and you ask me(Via E-mail or IM), I will direct you to here. Make sure you check the FAQ also before asking me(Via E-mail or IM), or else I will most likely direct you to here(not always though). Question 1: Where is Via Infinito? Answer: Its in Bevelle. Go to Bevelle Temple. You will see the main lift in front of you, and 2 paths splitting. Take the path on the right and view the scene. You will be there in a jiffy. Question 2: Whats so great about this Dungeon? Answer: Well, you get the remaining Crimson Spheres here, some rare accessories, you get to fight all but 2 types of oversoulable fiends (Georapella and Percepts Guard are the 2), and the rarest of all accessories... Iron Duke. Question 3: How do I save in this Dungeon? Answer: Find a Blue Teleporter that is located on each floor. These Blue Ports will heal you. Transport back to the Surface and Save there. Question 4: Can I go back to the Surface and save without re-doing this dungeon? Answer: Yes. Go to the Blue Port right by you and pick the option to return to previous Cloister. Question 5: How do I access each 20th Floor? Answer: In Every 20th floor(including 0), on the far right side is a hidden path. Go there to find a pillar that is also a teleporter. Check this FAQ(every 20th cloister in the Via Infinito Section) for a more thorough details. Question 6: What is Catnip? Answer: Its a rare accessory that can ONLY be obtained in Via Infinto. Defeat the Black Elemental on Cloister 40 to get it in a chest. Question 7: What does Catnip Do? Answer: It allows you to do 9999 DMG/Heal per hit if the girl equiped with this, is in Critical/Yellow HP. Question 8: Can it be Combo'd with Trigger Happy? Answer: Yes Question 9: How do I Defeat |Insert Boss Name|? Answer: Check the FAQ Question 10: I Did that but it still doesn't work? Answer: Keep trying. You can't expect to defeat "it" in one try. Make sure you followed EVERYTHING, in the Strategy of that . Question 11: Does Congrats work on |Insert Boss Name|? Answer: Yes and No. It does work for all the Via Infinito Bosses except for Trema. Question 12: Does this quest give completion points? Answer: Yes. Question 13: Does completing this dungeon give you Mascot? Answer: No, you get that from getting ALL Episode Completes in the game. Question 14: How do I get Cry in the Night from Mega Tonberry? Answer: Check the Mega Tonberry Walkthroughs. Question 15: I can't get past Elder Drake/Mega Tonberry? Answer: Check the Elder Drake/Mega Tonberry Section on how to then. Question 16: Are all Mega Tonberries Avoidable? Answer: Yes, check the Mega Tonberry Problem Section. Question 17: I defeated Trema! Wheres my Episode Complete? Answer: There is no Episode Complete defeating him. Question 18: Where do I get Dark Matters? Answer: Bribe Paragon or Defeat Trema. THESE ARE THE ONLY WAYS TO GET DARK MATTERS IN THIS GAME. Question 19: Do you have to complete this dungeon to get 100% Answer: Yes if its your first time through. If its a New Game plus, chances are, you won't have to unless you didn't gain any completion percentage on this New Game Plus, you will most likely have to. Question 20: Are all the fiends located in the Via Infinito? Answer: No. Only 2 are missing. They are Percepts Guard and Georapella. They are of course, in Bevelle itself if you didn't know. Return back to the Underground of bevelle. Remember when you first fought the 2 bosses? Well, they are still at the same place. Just touch a Blue Tower to trigger a battle with them. It is continuous. Question 21: Whats Iron Duke and what does it do? Answer: Well.... Lets just say out of all the stat increasing accessories in the game, you'll find no accessory better than this in this game that increases stats. It increases all these stats... ATK: 100+ DEF: 100+ MGDEF: 100+ MAGIC: 100+ ACC: 100+ EVA: 100+ LUCK: 50+ AGL: 10+ MAX HP: 100% MAX MP: 100% Definetly an accessory worth getting.... Now please stop buggin me about Iron Duke!=) Question 22: I siphoned all of Trema's MP. Why is he still using Meteor? Answer: Because its Physical attack for one that DOES NOT COST MP. Question 23: I'm using the Gunner/Catnip combo, but I cannot use Trigger Happy because the Gunner is in Berserk. Whats happening? Answer: You most likely own the International Version of this game, which has another effect for Catnip. It'll berserk them. If you don't own International Version and this is happening, you probably left Wring or Bloodlust Acc. equiped. |-------------------------------------------------------------------------| |FAQ NOTE: | |BE SURE TO VIEW ALL PREPERATION INFO BEFORE STARTING THE | |DUNGEON SO YOU DON'T SKIP USEFUL ITEMS/ACCESSORIES THAT CAN HELP YOU OUT.| |-------------------------------------------------------------------------| ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~--~-~-~- =============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Info/Preparation |PS| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- =============================================================================== |------------------------------------------------------------------------| |NOTE: Check Item Preparation section for a quick Preparation and a quick| |location list. | |------------------------------------------------------------------------| Ok, lets get started off some info of this dungeon. This sidequest can be accessed in Chapter 5 in Bevelle. This will count against your percentage, so this using this FAQ might help big time. The location: Bevelle, inside the temple and the chamber too the right. CUTSCENE SPOILERS: If you dont want to know the cutscene from me, Skip down. >>> >>> >>> >>> >>> >>> Scene: Inside the chamber, you will see Pacce and his Kinderguardians gang. Pacce, Taro, and Hana will jump into the Hidden Dungeon(Via Infinito). Follow them too ensue the scene. Down here, you will see a Maester talk about a man named Trema and his journey going down the dungeon. After the story, he disappears and leaves behind a crimson sphere. As for the kids, they get scared and leave during the scene. SPOILERS END |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |PREPARATION NOTE: | | | |These preperations are really simple and most of these dress | |spheres and garment grids can be obtained on your first run through | |without much use of a FAQ or guide, so you don't have to worry too | |much if you have a certain thing or not since this is kept simple | |and easy. If you don't have a certain item and it cannot be obtained, | |I do provide some alternatives listed in this FAQ. If you cannot find | |any alternatives in this FAQ, try E-mailing me and I can probably | |provide some. | |NOT ALL OF THESE ARE RECOMMENDED, Mostly Essential to make easier. | |----------------------------------------------------------------------| PREPERATION: Make sure you have the Dark Knight Dress Sphere or other dress spheres that have a good HP Boost. Plenty of Mega Pheonix(at least 50, obtained from Peregrine(Calm Lands, M'ihen Highroad. They dropped these from being oversouled, or you can steal from them when they're oversouled. Rukhs also have these and can be found in Mt. Gagazet, Djose Highroad. You can bribe them for 30 of them). X Potions(Obtained by bribing Adamantoise for at least 10), or you can get them later on in the Via Infinito(Sagahin Prince). Stock up on 3 Sword Tomes if your doing this dungeon the hard way(bribe Gugs in Via Infinito on Floors 70-74 or purchased in Open Air for 80,000 Credits) Try too stock up also on some Ethers, Potions, Hi Potions, Softs, Remedy, Phoenix Down, and Soul Springs(Soul Springs from bribing Lich in M'ihen Highroad for 15). The Soul Springs are an important item later in the Via. As for Equipment, Have at least a few Power Gloves, Crystal Bangles, a Key To Success or a couple Rabites Foot, Shining Bracer(one also found inside Via) and/or Defense Bracer(Bribe Admantortoise inside Via cloister 70-74). RABITE FOOT/KEY TO SUCCESS: These are essential in this dungeon because if you didn't know, that the higher the luck, the better off you are. The girl with the high luck stat is usually not picked from a fiend and goes after a girl with a lesser luck stat. If the girl with a high luck stat is picked by a fiend, it usually misses. With bosses, they have a better chance at succeeding to hit the girl with the high stat, but it doesn't get picked a lot. You can get these from the Jumbo Cactaur boss in Chapter 5. You can get these at Bikanel in Chapter 5 so its very recognizable. After defeating this boss, you will encounter more in the Via Infinito(Cloisters 50-59). For Key to Success, complete Moonflow missions, but ignore the Gagazet Missions in Chapter 3. If you can't get any of the both or you don't want to, thats alright since these aren't recommended, but they are very helpful in evasion and who gets attacked. Try too obtain the Highroad Winds GG or the Mounted Assault GG. If Possible, try too obtain the Higher Power GG. If you cant obtain the Higher Power, then make your Dark Knights at the HP of 9999(or something with a high HP boost). If you cannot obtain the Highroad Winds GG or Mounted Assault GG, then substitute with Sprint Shoes. Make sure the Dark Knight DS are Mastered(or other) and your Gunner Mastered. Level 99 is the best time too start this, but anywhere from a minimum to 80 is good enough. Also be prepared for at least 2-3 hours worth of this since this is the longest sidequest in this game. This should be enough preperation for now.. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~--~-~-~- =============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Item Preparation List/Locations |PILS| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- =============================================================================== In this section, will list all the Items from the Preparation section and its locations. Along the way, you will see a blue shining circle that can heal you when steped on, and take you back too the save point from the beginning. If you decide too save, you will be given the option when going back if you want too start from zero(I dont know who would pick this in the middle of the quest), Return too the cloister you just were at, or cancel. As you proceed lower, the enemies get harder and at every 20 cloister has a boss fight(most of these guys ain't pushovers either). If your lucky, you might be able too make it out of this dungeon without a game over(do you think you really can?). Each cloister is at random(except for every 20th one), so be ready for whatever. Some cloisters have fiends that you can see, which is either an Elder Drake or a Mega Tonberry. These 2 fiends aren't pushovers either and these 2 are probably a bit harder than the beginning bosses. When you go deep down the cloisters, one of these fiends will be added in cloisters that you didnt think too expect and you might run into one. So, be ready for whatever. Since you can't use Charm Bracer, your forced too do every battle. Most of the battles are just common fiends while some are bosses from the past that you've defeated. Also, look out for Tonberrys in cloisters. Some of these are keys too accessing to the next cloister and some are just to fight for nothing important. |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------| |Cloister 0 NOTE: This cloister is known as the "Great Cloister". You will see| |these every 20 levels. Before travelling on in the Via, when you are in | |cloister 0, check the FAR right side of the Great Cloister. You'll see a | |hidden path going off. When you continue off this path, you will see a pillar| |there. Jump on it to transport yourself from Great Cloister to Great Cloister| |(every 20 Levels). This is very useful for any fiends that you missed | |oversouling and if you accidently popped yourself back to Cloister 0. You can| |encounter this every Great Cloister. | |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------| =============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cloister 0-20 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- =============================================================================== As you know, its the easiest. Its a pretty basic run through and can be completed in less than 30 minutes. You will run into some Elder Drakes that jump back and forth. Don't worry about them running after you since they won't. A way too tell that they're near by is that the roar a lot and make jumping noises. Just time there jump and run when its clear. When your at the 20th Cloister, Save(although I dont like to and it since waste time) and prepare for the boss battle. ELDER DRAKE: HP- 38500/MP 135(Oversoul- 42350) Level 62 ----------------------------------------------------- First time you fight him, he is really hard since he has High Aglilty and Strength stats. He also has Auto-Protect to make things worse. He usually takes off 4000 HP per turn, so killing him may also seem impossible. To beat this fiend, use your Dark Knight's Darkness ability(or other attack with other dress spheres or this one)and repeat heal/revive with one person while the other girls too beatdown on him. He will become a Random Encounter near the end cloisters, but this fiend becomes more easier depending on what Accessories you use(you'll know soon). If you have the Berserker Dress sphere, you can use the evade & counter ability to beat him easily. Does not work if he oversouls. He gives about 1300 Expereince and 550 gil drop. Really not worth fighting in the beginning unless you want him oversouled to get "The End" Garment grid or to get Mega Potions.. There is an Alternate Strategy in the Catnip Free Section of this FAQ. BOSS: ARANEA- HP 18280/MP 178(Oversoul- 33394) Level 52 ---------------------------------------------------- Hes a big pushover, but dont take him too lightly. This boss can use Stop on all of your members simaltaneously. His attacks aren't too strong, but the Stop lasts for about 5 turns til your free of it. If your strong enough, just attack him all out. This battle should be done in less than 2 minutes. His strongest attack whe he is in Oversouled, is when eats up a girl and spits you out. The dmg should cause an avg. of 6000 HP dmg to 3000 depending on your stats. Now that the battle is done, grab the sphere, save, and continue. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~--~-~-~- |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------| |Cloister 0 NOTE: This cloister is known as the "Great Cloister". | |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------| =============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cloister 21-40 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- =============================================================================== This cloister isn't too hard either and has about 2-3 new rooms. The room with the Elder Drake might have another added so be prepared. Also, there should be another room with a Elder Drake in a pit in the middle of the hallway. When you enter that cloister, there should be a path going left and right. Head too the left path and hit the switch too activate stepping stones for it. If you need more X Potions, you can bribe a Sahagin Prince for about 20. When your on the 40th cloister, save. BOSS: BLACK ELEMENTAL- HP 9999/MP 2380(Oversoul- 10998) Level 88 ------------------------------------------------------------ NOTE: REFLECT DOES NOT WORK WITH HIS ULTIMA ATTACK. Strategy 1: This boss isn't much of a pushover, but he is strong(even though he looks so weak). His Defense, Magic, Magic Defense are VERY Strong, so don't take him lightly. His strongest attack is Ultima. If someone in your party has over 9999 HP, you can survive his Ultima attack. He cast Flare and Berserk every once in a while on your party. The best way too kill him, make sure your gunner has lots of Strength and use Tableturner too kill him or do heavy damage too him. If he still lives, use Darkness on him or Charon. Another way, is you can use Songstress and equip her with Shmooth Sailing obtained from the Dancing Practice on chapter 4. Then use Magical Masque Ability obtained from the Magical Dance Volumes to prevent him from using abilities on you. Then just attack him. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 2: You have to use a Dress Sphere that has a good HP boost. If you have First Strike(Sprint Shoes or Highroad Winds/Mounted Assault GG), you can do this efficiently. Crystal Bangle really helps with this. Higher Power GG is a must for this strategy or 1 Enterprise. When the battle begins, have your girl use Stamina Tablet/Tonic to double your HP. If your Dress Sphere had a high HP boost with Crystal Bangle, your HP should break the limit so you can survive his Ultima Attack. Then use Star Curtain to cast reflect so his Flare is useless. All you have to do now, is just attack him til hes dead. If he uses Ultima, HEAL IMMEDIATELY. If you want to be safe, attack with 2 girls while the other is on standby to heal. Another efficient way, is to keep healing each turn. Now that the battle is done, open the chest, save, and continue. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 3:(Contributed from Carl Josefsson. Note: I haven't tested this strat. so I trust him that this one will work) Abilities required: Berserker: Hurt (Howl is recommended to boost her HP) Songstress: Dirty Dancing Accesories recommended: Berserker: Star Bracer to prevent being killed by Flare and berserked HP boosting accessories, so her HP gets somewhere around 7000 at least (only 4000 if "Howl" is learned) Songstress: Something protective against Berserk (Star Bracer here too would be great) In the beginning of the battle cast "Dirty Dancing" and "Hurt". If HP is high enough "Hurt" will do around 7000-9000 in damage. After that just do another "Hurt" and if "Dirty Dancing" ended cast it again. Hopefully you can kill him before he uses "Ultima" (I've never seen him use it), he usually begins the round with berserk or if you're unlucky Flare. So Auto-Reflect will be a lifesaver but isn't necessary because with this strategy you can kill him in 2 turns. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 4:(Contributed by NeotericTenet) Switch into Yuna's Special Dress Sphere and cast Barrier. This will block out Black Elemental's Ultima attack. Cast reflect on the supporters and it will reflect the flare. Repeat attacking him until he is basically finished off. This is the turning point in the dungeon. The rooms will be a bit different from some of the beginning ones, but a couple might stay the same. You might see a Mega Tonberry every once in a while, but its pretty uncommon too find them. The Mega Tonberrys are not forced fights(though they seem with there large bodies). Too get past them, run too the side of them through the little gap. As long as you aren't in front of him, the battle won't trigger. The fiends between these cloisters aren't too strong, so don't worry too much. Even though, you might wanna save every once in a while too ensure that if you screw up, you don't have too start again. Also, from cloister 50-59, if you don't have a Rabite Foot(Really Helpful Accessory in this dungeon), you can get it from the Jumbo Cactaurs here as long as you did the Bikanel Sidequest in this Chapter. Before the boss battle, you might wanna equip the Highroad Winds GG on the Gunner and a Catnip on her. Make sure her luck is high(key to success or rabite foot) and her HP is on yellow. If you can't have her luck high, then use a Speed Bracer. Remember the first cloister with the Elder Drake on the side jumping back and forth? Well, this cloister will change a bit. Instead of 2 Jumping back and forth, there will be one jumping front to back to the side and one at the end off a ledge. He is very hard to see unless you stop at the edge and drop down. If you jump the ledge, you will automatically lock yourself in a battle with him and it will be a forced fight. Drop down and run to the side of him to avoid confrontation with him. You can also encounter Tonberries with tiny Tonberries standing by there sides in a certain cloister. When you find a cloister where you start on a ledge and when your at the edge, you see 3 more ledges in intersections and one in the middle. _||_ -||- A mini map of what that cloister would look like above. Follow the path of that cloister til you see a Tonberry near the exit. What you might not see, is a tinier version of him. Talk to him to recieve an Item. MEGA TONBERRY: HP- 48600/MP 0(Oversoul- 51030) Level 90 ------------------------------------------------------- Can you say murder, because this guy will do just that. Hes got a very good Aglity Stat and an Immense Attack. This guy will kill your party in one hit unless you have over about 16000 HP. He really isn't worth fighting until your past this cloister. This guy moves pretty quick so I doubt using the same strategy as Elder Drake with him will work(but with 2 Standby and 1 Attacker), but it could work. Make sure you finish this bastard as fast as possible since if you survive his Physical attacks, he'll try to outsmart you and Petrify your party and finish you off that with the the Karma attack. Karma also Drains your MP. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 1: The possible way I know of killing him without trouble, is using the Gunner's Happy Trigger+Catnip. If your Gunner is not in critical, wait til the Tonberry kills your gunner and revive her. If your quick, you can make him see 9's across his face. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 2: Another way of beating him is using 3 Warriors. Make sure they already have learned Setinel. When the battle starts, use 2 girls to use Setinel. The basic reaction of Mega Tonberry, is the attack Chef's Knife. If he hits a girl that is in Setinel, it will hit her with a measly 1 HP. Use the other girl to attack the Tonberry to get rid of his nuisance. After the Setinel runs out, use Setinel again for 2 girls. DON'T always use the same girls to Setinel since he picks randomly. If he kills a girl that is not in Setinel, Use a Phoenix Down or a Mega Phoenix. Keep hitting and using setinel to bring him down. If you want, you can switch Dress Spheres to Gun Mage and learn Cry in the Night if he is Oversouled. There is an Alternate Strategy in the Catnip Free Section of this FAQ. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= BOSS BATTLE: CONCHERER- HP 343280/MP 170(Oversoul- 360444) Level 96 --------------------------------------------------------------- No his HP isn't a typo, its the real thing. Though he seems hard, he really isnt too much. His highest stats(beside HP) would be his Strength, Defense, and Magic Defense. They ain't at max, but they're high enough. His strongest attack is Megaton Press which does about 50000-65000 attack. Good thing about that attack is its only one person at a time and he does it every once in a while. His regular attacks do about 2000-3300 attack per person. He has the ability too drain your MP all the way by using Gunk. He seems too uses that ability pretty often so killing him is easy. Anyways, your gunner should be the first up with the first strike ability. If you did the preperations before this battle, using Happy Trigger will hit him with 9999 per chain. You should be able too finish him with 2-3 Happy Triggers. Hes got an Auto-Protect on him, so your Dark Knight's regular attacks will be less than normal. Make sure you heal/revive with one girl on standby so nothing will go wrong. NOTE: When Concherer is Oversouled, it is known that he does not use Megaton Press or Gunk, but does only regular attacks, Firaga, Blizzaga, Thundaga, and Flare. Just use the strategy above to finish him off. When finish, Save and Continue(No Item) ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~--~-~-~- |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------| |Cloister 0 NOTE: This cloister is known as the "Great Cloister". When you continue off this path, you will see a pillar| |there. Jump on it to transport yourself from Great Cloister to Great Cloister| |(every 20 Levels). This is very useful for any fiends that you missed | |oversouling and if you accidently popped yourself back to Cloister 0. From here on out, You'll be seeing lots and lots of Mega Tonberrys. As you know, they don't have too be fought, so don't make it seem like you have too. Just run too the side of them when they are patrolling. There should be a certain cloister where there is a long ramp/bridge and at the end is a Mega Tonberry. If you encounter this cloister, this is a trick leading you to think that you have to fight him too access the next. In fact, all you have to do is wait for him to patrol away from you and jump down the bridge and make a left. Once that left is made, go down and press circle too get on another platform/bridge. When you go around, there should be 3 seperate bridges with Tonberrys. 2 Small ones at the ends and one in the middle. Your exit is the middle but its blocked by the Mega Tonberry. Instead of fighting the Mega(you could if you think its faster) you can fight the 2 small ones too make the Mega one disappear. Run too the Mega Tonberry's place and jump down too the next. Another Tonberry Cloister to look out for is the Cloister room with the three Intersections(not counting the section you start). There should be a save point to verify. _||_ -||- Theres a mini map to fully verify that cloister. In some of these, there might be a Mega Tonberry waiting on the left intersection, so slow down before rushing. Another cloister you might encounter between this round til the end is a cloister full of Tonberrys. The Mega ones can't reach you, but if you touch a small one, you will automatically enter a fight with a Mega one. Just avoid the Tonberry's and look for a switch. You can't see the switch since its not there, but it is. This cloister has 2 side platform/bridge and 2 top platform/bridge. One has a Telportation Pad and one is a switch. The other 2 are empty. Just find the switch and jump down in the center. BOSS BATTLE: CHAC- HP 437850/MP 820(Oversoul- 459743) Level 98 ----------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: If you want to Oversoul Chac for an easier battle, Go to Mushroom Rockroad to fight Gucumatz or Bikanel Desert, Northern Expanse and fight Gucumatz. Fight him about 11 times to make the Basilisk Type Oversoul. If you made Gucumatz Oversoul, Run away from him and head back to Chac for him to Oversoul. Strategy 1/Intro: A basilisk type. If you've been playing Final Fantasy games, you should know that this guy can petrify you with its Stony Glare. But since your a dark knight, this battle will be easy. Guess again, this guy will break your through and stone you like a Medusa. The worst thing is, if he uses Heaven's Cataract, he can anihilate any petrified girl and take her out of the game. Once this is done too your gunner, your gonna be in a LONG LONG battle. Anyways, if your gunner has a high luck(key to success, rabite foot), you have a good chance of Chac not petrifying your gunner. When this Battle starts, use Happy Trigger to do the heavy damage. You might wanna keep your other members on Standby ready too use a soft. When one person is petrified, quickly get a soft and heal them. His Heaven's Cataract does lots do too much damage, but anyone in Petrification is dead and long gone. Repeat Happy Trigger andkeep others in standby ready too use a soft or heal. If your fighting him without Oversouling him, his Cataract will damage you depending on what your Magic Defense is. If you have about 195 MGDEF, it should do around 6300 HP DMG. If you want your other girls to stay alive, you might want to equip them with Oath Veils with Dark Knight Dress Spheres to increase there MGDEF high enough to survive Cataract and heal again. When he is oversouled, He will use attacks such as Hunter's Gaze which will petrifiy and possibly poison your girls. He also does an MP Drain attack that drains all your MP. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 2: Another way you can do beat this in a Non Oversoul Version, is to have 2 warriors and a Gunner with Catnip(and critical HP). Make sure your gunner does NOT have first strike, you'll see why. Equip the Warriors with Highroad winds. If you don't have that for some reason, use Sprint Shoes, or Speed Bracer. When the battle begins, make sure that the warrior goes first so she can do Delay Buster. This will cause Chac to slow down for a while and do nothing. He is NOT immune to this status effect, but IS immune to Delay Items. After the Delay Busters, use Gunner to do Trigger Happy on him(with Catnip for Maximum Damage). Repeat Delay Busters and Trigger Happy. Make sure Trigger Happy is being used when Delay Buster ATB is half way through so you can get an easier jump on him. If you have Sword Tomes on the Warriors, this tatic will increase your chances of winning. The strategy above is also another Catnip Free Strategy. If you are using this as a catnip free strategy, make sure you do Trigger Happies once in a while since he moves pretty quick after delay busters. Do Trigger Happy's when the Delay Buster ATB is near the end so you get a jump at him. Haste makes this battle faster and easier, so cast a Chocobo Wing when needed. Your Warriors do NOT have to have Sword Tomes, but your chances of winning with this strategy increases if they do. His other attacks are also MP Break, Physical Attacks, and Hunter's Gaze. He usually uses those attacks when He is oversouled. He does not use Cataract during Oversoul either. I find it easier to beat him in Oversoul, than normally if your doing it without catnip/trigger. His attacks pretty much vary, but usually are according to def. His Cataract attack varies a bit also, but usually through damages them according to def. His Physical attacks also seem to break through Protect, so be careful. This guy is real hard to defeat if your doing it without catnip/trigger. You can delay his actions with Delay Abilities, but he is immune to Delay Items. His Hunter's Gaze causes Petrification also, but only to one girl. In Oversoul, he seems to miss a lot with Petrification attacks, which makes him easier. Just the last 19 and your done. Except that it isn't going to get easy like them last cloisters. Instead of fight them weak wannabe bosses that you've fought before, you'll be fighting the hard bosses you've fought in the Via Infinito(Ain't that a .....). But, you have a choice too escape now (thank god) so you don't have too fight them. The only boss I recommend running from is the hateful Chac. The rest are pretty easy. From the cloisters 85 to 99, Elder Drakes will become random battles. They should be easy to kill now that you have the catnip and the killer combo. From what I know, the Chac boss either doesn't appear after cloister 85 til the end. So if you need too oversoul him, you might want to do it before 85. From the last 10, The Via Infinito bosses don't appear much either, but instead more fiends. Sounds easy, but it is and isn't. The fiends start coming in certain packs and ambush you more. If you have first strike, the ambush isn't a problem. But the packs they come in can be. These are the pack orders that I've witnessed: 1. Lacerta+Mushroom Cloud 2. Lacerta(x3) 3. Elder Drake+Critical Bug 4. Elder Drake+Mushroom Cloud 5. Black Element+Mushroom Cloud 6. Elder Drake+Insect Matriarch 7. Black Element+Elder Drake The Lacerta Packs are pretty dangerous considering that they're fast and they use the Rend Attack too bring 1/4 your members Max HP each rend attack til your dead. The Mushroom Cloud Packs are dangerous too, but if you kill the Mushroom Cloud first, you should be safe. If you leave Mushroom Cloud hanging, say bye bye too your group and hello too game over. The Mushroom Cloud isn't strong, but when left, it uses Petricunuous Cloud(I think the clouds name) and Inflicts Status Ailments including Stop. He will use this a few turns leaving you hanging there for a long while til he feels like he can use Ultima. Even if you have one standing left, he'll still use that damn cloud again and use Ultima. If you have the Black Elemental+Mushroom Cloud, it can be a bit of a problem since Black Elemental can use Ultima when it wants and if your pretty low, he can wipe you just like. I already explained Mr. Mushroom so its pretty much your decision(looks at the mushroom). The Elder Drake set with the Bug types aren't much of a problem, but I think are worth listing since they are pretty dangerous. There might be other packs that I could of missed, but these are the packs I remember since they were the ones that pissed me off to the point where I felt like I was going to kick my PS2(of course that would land me in deeper crap than before). As for cloisters, the one worth talking about is the one with the Small Tonberry and the Smaller Tonberry. When I first saw that thing, I thought I got bigger(like in that Oreo Commercial when that kid thought he grew bigger seeing that tiny oreo, lol). Anyways, instead of a battle, press X on the Normal Sized Tonberry for an Item. Then screw around with the tiny guy and click X too push him around. After pushing him around, click X on the regular sized guy and get another Item. The Max Items you can obtain from them is 2. After that continue on. This cloister isn't a one time thing, so you will be able to get more items when you normal and midget. Once your at the 99th cloister, save and reduce your gunner's HP too yellow again and proceed too the 100th. Before moving on, lets do a bit of preparing shall we. |-------------------------------------------------------------------------| |NOTE: You will be facing 2 Bosses in this cloister. He tends to start out by hurting your group. Make sure you have one person at there highest in HP. If you have Higher Power, make sure someone has over 10000 HP. After he goes to hurting your group a bit, he uses an attack called Genesis which will wipe at least 2 girls. If your lucky just one. The person alive will usually be the person with the Shining/Defense Bracer. Use her to use Mega Phoenix as quickly as you can. Sometimes, he will use Itchy with his Physical attacks. High luck helps evade this. If you Oversoul him, he will rarely hit you when he does Physical attacks. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 1:(Non Oversoul) When the Battle begins, use Happy Trigger. If your super lucky, you can finish him in one Full Trigger, but usually takes 2 Full Triggers. Keep your group on standby. If your ATB bar is being nice and his is being mean, you can finish him without him using Genesis, but usually, he will use it before your gunner gets the chance for a final. When Genesis is used, use Mega Phoenix. With that luck boost from the accessory, the chance of him hitting your gunner is unlikely. Finish him with Happy Trigger. This strategy takes luck depending on when he wants to use Genesis. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 2:(Oversoul) NOTE: When Paragon is Oversouled, he will NOT attack for about 2.5 minutes or unless you provoke him(attacking him), then he will counter with a Physical attack. After he loses about 45% of his HP, he usually starts using Magic Attacks. Once he loses about 80% of his HP, he will start using Ultima. NOTE: This strategy connects well with Trema Strategy # 6. Have 2 girls in Warrior Dress Sphere and 1 girl in Gunner. Equip Warriors with Crystal Bangle and Diamond or Crystal Glove. Use at least Valiant Lustre Garment Grid for DEF addition. Be around Level 96 or more OR have the Warriors be around 190+ DEF. Make sure Gunner is in Critical Condition and has Catnip. The secondary doesn't matter. When the battle begins, have all your girls attack him for about 3 to 5 rounds. Heal/Revive if necessary. Afterwards, fire off the Trigger Happy to finish him off. If you decide to use Trigger Happy before attacking him for about 2 to 5 rounds, he will use a mediocre attack called "Final Impact" which does special type of fractional damage which cannot be reduced. It goes for 10 hits, and each hit tears off 12.5% of Max HP and MP. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 3/Mini Prep:(NON OVERSOUL) This strategy does require another Catnip strategy without Break HP Limit. If you want to use Break Limit HP, go ahead, but make sure your MGDEF is at least over 175 and your defense is over 160 for at least 2 of your girls. MAKE SURE YOU INSERT A GUNNER DRESS SPHERE(Assuming you're using Catnip) BY THE DARK KNIGHT DRESS SPHERE(Or other Dress Sphere with High Def. and MGDEF Boosts) FOR ONE OF YOUR GIRLS USING CATNIP+GUNNER. Ready yourself in this battle with 3 Dark Knights also. With this kind of prep up, most of Paragon's attacks are weak. Make sure you have at least 40 Megalixirs. If not, try to substitute with X-Potions. Megalixirs have a better effect. Check Preparation Item list for location. Helpful Tip: Protection Accessories can be used to a better effect if your not using Break HP Limit. Make sure you have Stamina Tonics though if you are using Break HP Limit and without it. Now lets begin the fight shall we.... When the battle begins, if you're using 2 accessory slots for Def and MGDEF increasing accessories, start off by using Stamina Tonic to bring your HP near 9500+. If you're using Break HP Limit and if you are at level 99, you won't need to much Def and MGDEF Protection accessories, but they are helpful. In any case, start off by using the Stamina Tonic. After this, heal with Megalixir or Mega Potions. Repeat healing til he uses his first "Genesis" attack. This attack will remove positive status effects (Like Haste), so don't bother with Chocobo Wings. No, your Tonic's effect will not be worn by Genesis' attack. After this attack, quickly switch your Knight that has Catnip to Gunner. With Genesis' recent attack, she should be at Yellow. Use your first Trigger Happy attack to do him in good. Beware of his Itchy status effect that is included in his Physical Attacks. If you're doing this with Break HP Limit, kill your gunner and revive her for a better effect for the Catnip. Otherwise, just hit him down. Heal your party with X-Potions as fast as possible and revive Gunner when needed. Repeat Trigger Happy til he is dead. NOTE: Don't expect this strategy to be guaranteed since his Genesis' attacks are at Random. His Big Bang attack triggers when you attack him with an attack that can bypass effects like Shell or Protect(Darkness is an example that can bypass those effects). He will use it the next chance he gets, so be careful. ******************************************************************************* PARAGON OVERSOUL SIDE INFO: (thnx Split Infinity for finding this info out). If you use Magic on Paragon, it counters back with that same magic. Example: If you use Firaga on him, he will counter with Firaga. Of course, there are exceptions. If you use Curative magic on him, he will counter with Demi. If you use any Arcana abilities on him(except Black Sky), he will counter with that ability you used on him. If you use MP Absorb on him, he will counter with MP Absorb. If you use Supernova on Paragon, he will counter with Supernova also. |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |NOTE: IF PARAGON IS OVERSOULED, HE CAN STILL USE MAGIC WITHOUT MP. | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| =============================================================================== After hes dead, a Cutscene Ensues with Trema. After the Cutscene, the Battle with Trema begins. BOSS BATTLE: TREMA- HP 999999/MP 999 Level 99 --------------------------------------------- This guy is the hardest boss of them all in this horrid dungeon. He usually tends to start with physical attacks, then uses Demi to take down the parties life, then Ultima or Flare. He will use Meteor to damage your HP greatly. Each hit will tear off 12.5% off your party's HP. Protect will reduce it by half and Sentinel will reduce to 1. He can also inflict the Stop Status on you with one of his Physical attacks. This can be evaded by having high luck. If you cannot have High Luck, your safe with standby/heals. Use Gunner to heal if its a must. He will Meteor when he loses 50% of his HP. He will Use Meteor again the the first chance he has after losing 75% of his HP. After 85%, he will use Ultima the first chance he gets. Trema only uses Meteor twice in battle. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 1: When the battle begins, use Mega Phoenix to revive party. Even though you have 2 girls alive, its best to use it anyways just in case. When everyone is back, Use X Potions on each other except Gunner. Then, throw a spring soul on Trema to disable his Magic. If you don't have Soul Springs, use Mana Springs. If he uses Demi later on and it succeeds, throw another Soul Spring or Mana. Throughout the battle, have the 2 girls throw X Potions on each other regardless of heatlth and use Gunner too assault him down. Revive gunner or each other when needed. In the middle of the battle, Trema will use Meteor which is a Physical Attack in this game. If you've been healing each other like I said, only the Gunner should die. Use Mega Phoenix and X Potions on each other. Repeat til dead. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 2: A quicker, easier, and guaranteed way to beat him is if you have Higher Power GG, and defeated Paragon without getting hit, it will succeed. Check Paragon Strategy on how to defeat him without getting hit once and going down to critical HP. When you start out, Use Stamina Tonics. After that, use X Potions on your Dark Knights(or other Dress Sphere with High HP boost). If you have at least 1 Crystal Bangle on a Knight(or another Dress Sphere with High HP boost), after Tonics, your Knights should have over 20000 HP. Make sure you heal after using Stamina Tonics since it doesn't auto-heal you to 20000 HP. DO NOT HAVE THE GUNNER ATTACKING YET. After this, if you need to, use a Curtain that has the Protect effect and use it on the girls. By then, your gunner might of died from Trema's attacks. USE Phoenix downs immiediately. Use Soul Spring afterwards and heal whenever possible. The reason why your gunner should not attack just yet, is because Trema uses his strongest attacks depending how much you took away his HP. If you took 50% of his HP, he will use Meteor. After 75%, he will use another Meteor attack. After 85%, he will use Ultima. He only uses Meteor twice and Ultima once. After Soul Spring, use Chocobo Wings to speed up the party. After all this, use the Knights to heal your gunner and your gunner a poppin at Trema. If Trema uses Meteor, he will only kill Gunner if you managed to keep your party over 8000 HP. He should die very fast and soon. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 3/Short Prep: If you do NOT have Higher Power GG, then this strategy will work(if your using Catnip/Gunner of course). All you need really is Valiant Lustre, Dark Knight, Soul Springs, Mega Potions/Megalixirs(50/10), Chocobo Wings, Crystal Bangle, Defense/Shining Bracer, and Catnip/Gunner(assuming you're using this combo). You also must make sure you defeated Paragon in Oversoul, so you are able to transfer to this battle with near full heath. This strategy will work better if your girls are at 99 since the Dark Knight's defense is at its fullest. Equip Valiant Lustre, Crystal Bangle, Defense/Shining Bracer on the Dark Knights. Your Defense should be over 170 which is enough to stand up against this old fart. If you use Crystal Gloves instead of Defense/Shining Bracer, then this battle will be a bit easier also, but you'll have to remember to use Light Curtain for a Protect Status effect. With the Gunner, just equip her with the basic Catnip/Speed Bracer or Rabite Foot. Make sure she starts in critical and has at least Highroad Winds/Mounted Assault GG. If you want if you don't have them 2, use Sprint Shoes. You don't necessarily need First Strike, but it helps. After this, lets get into battle. After Paragon, make sure you have at least 7500 HP left for your Knights. When the battle begins with Trema, Heal Knights back to 9999 HP. Revive Gunner when needed. DO NOT ATTACK WITH GUNNER YET. Why? Because when you reduce its HP, you might trigger off some of its strong attacks. Since Gunner/Catnip does a handy amount, it would be unwise to use her to attack now. Have her support your team by using Items for now along with the Knights. With this proper defense, Trema should be hitting you with 300 to 1500 HP avg. damage. Use Soul Springs after your team is healed(except Gunner). After the Springs, lets speed up your team by using Chocobo Wings. Make sure you have the Protect Status on(Light Curtain item does this) to reduce the damage heavily. You will want to heal each turn on your Dark Knights. Make sure your Knights stay above 5000 HP. Use X-Potions to insure this. Use this time now to barrage him with Trigger Happies. Repeat this each turn while your Knights heal each other. When Trema loses 50% of his HP, he will use his first Meteor attack. With this defense, he should do 4000 HP worth of damage. Your Gunner will most likely be dead after this assault. Use this time to use a Mega Phoenix for safety and heal your team back. Repeat til you hit him at 75% of his HP. He will repeat the Meteor attack. Repeat what you did earlier and hit him hard again. If you had the Protect Status on, the damage result will be around 3000 HP to 5000 HP DMG(since its a Physical attack). After 85%, he will try Ultima, which will unsucceed if you used Soul Springs to Drain his MP. Repeat til he is dead and you will have won yourself a vicotry. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 4: This strategy is a continue of the third Paragon Strategy. When the battle begins, heal your Knights as fast as possible. If you have Break HP Limit, use Tonics again. Be sure to cast a Light Curtain on you so you have the Protect Spell up and running. Beware of some of his physical attacks since they can inflict the Stop Spell on you and Poison Spell. DO NOT ATTACK WITH GUNNER YET... WHY? Because hitting him down with Trigger Happies plus Catnip can result in him using his stronger attacks. His strongest attacks are trigger depending on how much of his HP you siphoned from him. If you took 50% of his HP, he will use his first Meteor Attack. If you take 75% more of his HP, he will use Meteor again. After 85%, say hello to Ultima. Cast Chocobo Wings to speed up the process and repeatedly heal your Knights. Be sure to use Soul Spring to siphon his MP to prevent the annoying uses of Demi and Ultima. After the Soul Spring, feel free to bombard him with Trigger Happies. If you have at least a bit over 165 Def., the Meteor attack shouldn't do to much damage to your knights. Revive Gunner if needed. Repeat this through til he dies. If you bribed Paragon, you should have some Dark Matters. If you want or have alchemist, you can use her to mix Dark Matters+Holy Waters to make your party temporarily invincible. Just repeat strategy above. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 5: NOTE: THIS STRATEGY REQUIRES BREAK HP LIMIT ON 2 GIRLS. Make sure you have Higher Power equiped on your 2 Dark Knights(or any other Dress sphere that has a high HP boost and that can survive Paragon). Also have a Crystal Bangle on the Dark Knights and probably Defense/Shining Bracer or Crystal Gloves. DO NOT ATTACK WITH CATNIP GUNNER UNTIL YOU ARE DONE USING THE ITEMS I WILL BE EXPLAINING. Why? Because siphoning his HP determines when he will use his strongest attackest. When you siphon 50% of his HP, he will use a Meteor attack. When you siphon 75% of his HP, he will use another Meteor attack. When you siphon 85% of his HP, he will use a Ultima attack. When the battle begins, determining your situation, you most likely will heal. Heal the party(except Catnip Gunner). Immediately, use Stamina Tonic so that your 2 girls with have double the HP. If your levels are over 94, then you should have near 21000 HP for your Dark Knights. Heal the Dark Knights so that they get that HP boost. Now cast Light Curtain to protect yourself against Trema's upcoming stronger attacks. Revive Gunner whenever you need to if shes dead. Next, throw a Soul Spring so his MP will be Drained to almost nothing(if you're lucky, it will BE nothing). NOW ATTACK WITH GUNNER/TRIGGER HAPPY/CATNIP. After 50% of his HP is gone, he will use Meteor. Gunner will die, but your Knights live on with lots of HP. Heal your Knights with X-Potions or Megalixrs. Revive the Gunner and repeat the process until you siphon 75% of his HP. Another Meteor attack, but you should already know what to do. Repeat hitting him until you siphon 85% of his HP. He will try a Ultima attack, but with Soul Springs, its a failed attempt. If you forgot to use Soul Springs, then its alright since it it only does 9999 HP DMG. Just re-heal your Knights and revive your gunner like you did earlier. Repeat hitting him til he dies. Easy battle. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 6: This is probably one of the most efficient strategies I've came up with. This strategy is adjacent of the Paragon Strat #2, so use that Paragon Strat. and this one for an easy battle. All you need is: Valiant Lustre GG Diamond/Crystal Gloves Catnip Crystal Bangle Speed Bracer Warrior Gunner X-Potions Soul Springs Mega Phoenix/Phoenix Downs Level 96 to 99 OR have Warrior DEF at 190+ End result, Warriors should have around 8244 HP if you're at Level 96 at the least, which is more than enough. Make sure the Gunner is wearing a Speed Bracer to keep up with this. When the battle begins, make sure you heal your Warriors. Don't use Trigger Happy yet until said so, or else you might accidently siphon too much of his HP and result in having him using his strongest attacks. Once you siphon 50% of his HP, he will use his 1st Meteor. After 75%, he will use a 2nd. After 85%, he will use Ultima. So be careful not to attack him so soon. Use Soul Springs afterwards. Heal/Revive when needed. Heal when the Warriors have fallen below 4000 HP. Use Setinel to protect against his PHYS ATKS, so they do 1 DMG each time. Once both Warriors are in Setinel, use Trigger Happy/ Catnip to deal heavy damage. Most likely, this won't trigger the Meteor attacks just yet, so take time to re-use Setinel again and heal/revive. Use another Trigger Happy/Catnip combo. This time, he should use Meteor, so make sure the Setinel is running. If it is, Meteor will only kill Gunner, while the Warriors have only had at least 10 HP siphoned off(due to 1 HP DMG). Revive Gunner, and repeat the Process again. After 2 more Trigger Happy/Catnip combos, he will most likely pull off a Meteor AND Ultima. If you're quick, he will only do a Meteor, but not Ultima. If you've used Soul Springs, Ultima is no worry anyways. He will die after the 5th Trigger Happy hit. After the battle, Congratulate yourself for conquering such a dungeon. Your reward, a little scene and the IRON DUKE(at last). |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------| |Paragon Note: You can encounter this fool again on the 100th floor. Head far | | | |up the Cloister and you'll see him again. From what I know, you have to exit | |and re-enter this Cloister to find him again. | |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------| ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~--~-~-~- =============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Catnip Free Strategies |CFSS| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- =============================================================================== In this section, I will supply you with Strategies that do NOT require catnip in ANYWAY or any other cheesy tricks(like bribing/Gil throwing/etc.). ELDER DRAKE: HP- 38500/ MP 135(Oversoul- 42350) Level 62 ----------------------------------------------------- (Follow Strategy From Via Infinito Walkthrough) Here is some additional stuff along the way that would help. Equip one Girl with Protect and Your Main Attacker with High Luck(if possible) and High attack. I would Highly recommend Gunner, since her Trigger Happy attack can do more than the average attacker, but whatever works for you. Make sure your main attacker can do 6000 HP+ DMG to finish him fast. If your party's defenses are over 130, it should be alright since he tends to devestate your party for about 4000 HP(protect helps I.E. Shining Bracer). Just attack with Main attacker or 2, and heal after every attack. He should be gone in no time. | |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------| ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ MEGA TONBERRY: HP- 48600/MP 0(Oversoul- 51030) Level 90 ------------------------------------------------------- (Follow Strategy From Via Infinito Walkthrough) Here is some additional stuff along the way that would help. I find that this bastard is a bit easier to kill in Oversoul than in Normal since Mega Tonberry uses Chefs Knife in just about every turn of the battle than he does Oversoul. But then, when hes in Oversoul, he has more deadlier attacks, but they don't do that much HP dmg compared to Chefs Knife. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 1/Cry in the Night Strat: Anyways, when the battle starts, Kill the Small Tonberry. If you don't, he can be a BIG targeting nuisance. After his death, attack Mega Tonberry while leaving the other 2 on standby. Repeat this, but I recommend Reviving with Mega Phoenixes since he moves fast. I would recommend using gunner since she can do a good amount of damage to him than the rest. If hes in Oversoul, he will use Chefs Knife for a few turns and start to use an attack called "Karma". When he uses this, it would be a relief to see change, but it doesn't mean the tide of the battle is gonna get easier. This attack does about an avg. of 5000 HP DMG. It does sometimes exceed a bit over 15000 HP Damage, but not a lot. An addition to this attack, a little something called Petrification. This attack should also drain all your MP away, making abilites useless. Just repeat the strategy above, but keep 2 standby ready to use Softs. From what I know, you can obtain the Attack "Cry in the Night", when he is oversouled and has low HP(for Gun Mage). +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 2/Cry in the Night Strat: Another way of beating him is using 3 Warriors. This works if hes Non Oversoul also. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ BOSS BATTLE: CONCHERER- HP 343280(Oversoul- 360444) Level 96 --------------------------------------------------------------- When battle starts, pick your primary attacker and your secondary attacker. You will want a secondary since hes real slow and its faster to finish him off. You might want your secondary to alternate attacks and heals. You can have a third attacker if you want, but make sure they alternate also. If needed, have your primary alternate also. Just make sure you can do at least 5000 HP+ Damage to him to defeat him quick enough. Again, Gunner can do great things in this match, especially when she has haste on. Be sure that your party has over 6000 HP since his Physical attacks do about 3000 HP to 6000 HP varying from your def. stat. He usually does 3000 HP worth of damage from my experience of fighting him. When you fight him, hit him with 2 attackers and 1 girl to heal/revive. If you need to, alternate attackers and healers if you need to so you can keep the support going for the girls. When He is Oversouled, He doesn't use Megaton Press, but will use Elemental Magic. Just Cast reflect and you'll be all right. | |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------| ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ BOSS BATTLE: CHAC- HP 437850(Oversoul- 459743) Level 98 ----------------------------------------------------------- OVERSOUL STRATEGY: This battle is really hard when he isn't Oversouled. If you want, you can leave the Via Infinito and head to Bikanel or Mushroom Rockroad and fight Gucamatz about 11 times to make the Basilisk Type Oversoul. Then head back to Chac. At the start of this battle, he will most likely use Stony Glare that will petrify a girl. It doesn't always succeed, but just in case, keep 1 or 3 girls on standby to heal while the other attacks. The advantage you can use in this battle, is when you attack, it delays him for a couple of seconds. Use this time to let the ATB run up while he is shortly delayed to use as an advantage. If you want, you can use Delay Abilities, but just know Delay Items won't work on him. His Physical attacks usually vary from def. but he can hurt your girls severly at the same time. The attacks vary from 4000 HP to 15000 HP(physical attacks). The good thing though, is Heaven's Cataract won't be used while he is Oversouled. After a while, he will start using Hunter's Gaze to petrify a girl and possibly Poison her. Just watch out for it and be ready for it. What I've researched about him, is that his Petrification attacks don't succeed as much as in Oversoul, than it does when he isn't in Oversoul. Later on, he will use MP Break to drain all your MP. Just repeat attacking, while the other 2 Revive. Don't be afraid to use your attacker to heal also. Its probably best if you alternate attackers or have 2 attack and one heal so he can be delayed by attacks. If you want, just go with the flow of the battle, and he will be gone in no time. The Protect Spell doesn't seem to work against Chac's Physical attacks, so its no help here. Remember that attacking him delays his actions for just a few seconds since he shakes, so use this as an advantage. Personal Note: I was able to defeat Chac with Dress spheres: Gunner/Theif/Warrior(there default and characters), so don't give up to much hope if hes giving you a hard time. ******************************************************************************* Now here is the NON OVERSOUL Strategy Preperation: Equip your girls with Warrior Dress Spheres. Equip Either Ray of Hope GG or the Highroad/Mounted Assault GG. If you don't have either, your gonna have to depend on independent luck since this battle can be based on speed stats or luck stats. Get at least 3 Sword Tome(Bribe Oversouled Gugs in Via 70-74. Gugs are with the Revanant Type fiend so wait til he uses Oversoul Fever to oversoul Gug to get it in EVERY battle if you bribe). Equip Either 3 Rabite Foots(complete Bikanel Sidequest/Jumbo Cactaurs. Via 50-59 Oversoul for them). You can equip Speed Bracers, but it will be a longer battle without the Luck Stat. Sword Tomes are VERY necessary. Ray of Hope/Highroad/Mounted Assault GG aren't exactly needed, but Highly Necessary since each of them play an important role. Have at least near 9999 HP and over 150 Atk. Lets Begin... +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 1: When the battle starts, Chac should Either Physically attack you, or Use his Stony Glare. If you had Ray of Hope, your luck would of been high enough to evade this. If you had Highroads/Mounted, you would be able to react at the beginning. But then, Rabites Foot should already suffice enough for luck also. There is a good chance he wont do either. Whatever you use, is your choice is, start the battle by having a girl using Delay Buster. Chac is NOT Immune to this attack, but is immune to Delay Items. Repeat using Delay Busters on him and he should be down without ever touching you. If he does manage to click a Stony Glare on you, use Soft with one girl while one does the Delaying. The use of the Swords Tome if you didn't figure it out, is that it reduces the ATB time on the Delay Buster since its pretty long. Heal/Revive whenever needed. If you have good Luck Stats, then this battle will be faster. If you do use Speed Bracer, your party moves quicker, but I perfer more Luck since the Delay Busters do more damage and with 2 girls going for a Delay, you can sneak a girl doing an extra normal attack for a higher attack, use chocobo feather/wing on each girl, use Twin/Three Stars to keep MP alive, or use Megalixir to heal MP for each character. If you want to speed it up, you can always sneak in a Chocobo Wing while the other 2 are delaying him, so you can use High Luck and Speed. You can also do this battle without Sword Tomes, but it makes the battle a lot more challenging. Using 3 Girls to use Delay Buster is pretty unwise since he gets the jump while your ATB is sitting there. Use 2 Girls to use Delay Buster. When the ATB is near halfway, have the other girl do a normal attack. This will buy you some time til the ATB is raised all the way. Repeat this tatic and heal whenever you need to possible. Make sure you have high speed when doing this without Sword Tomes. The avg. Battle time for Speed Bracer: 20 to 25 Min. The avg. Battle time for High Luck: 10 to 15 Min. Depending on how much of a Luck Stat you have. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 2: Another way you can do beat this in a Non Oversoul Version, is to have 2 warriors and a Gunner. After the Delay Busters, use Gunner to do Trigger Happy on him. Repeat Delay Busters and Trigger Happy. Make sure your in haste when doing this, but don't do the trigger happy's as much. If you have Sword Tomes, this battle is a LOT easier. Equip | |yourself with Crystal Bangles on each girl, Defense/Shining Bracer on each | |girl. Make sure your at level 99 for optimal performance. | | | |MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PARAGON ON OVERSOUL. Why??? 1. Hes a lot easier since he | |only counterattacks 2. I've only been able to beat him like this. I'm still | |researching on the Non Oversoul strategy. To Oversoul him fight Weapon | |Fiends. If you need to, you can head to the Hidden Chocobo Dungeon and fight | |Ultima Weapons or the Farplane to fight Omega Weapons. If you want, you can | |use the special teleport to head to the recommended floor, but I can't | |guarantee that the teleport can transport you back to the 100th Cloister. | |Once you oversouled the Weapon fiend, escape from it and head back to the | |100th Cloister. | | | |If you are fighting him WITHOUT OVERSOUL, then make sure you have at least | |some accessories that increase your MGDEF and DEF. I would recommend using | |Crystal Gloves and Oath Veil on your Dark Knights(or any other D/S that has a| |good DEF/MGDEF Boost). If you don't have Higher Power(Break HP Limit), then | |Use Valiant Lustre to increase your MGDEF and DEF. If you do have Higher | |Power, then have at least one Crsytal Bangle and Oath Veil to protect against| |Paragon's Genesis attack. | | | |Have at least 60 Megalixirs for the upcoming battle and 10 Stamina Tonics. | |To Obtain Crsystal Gloves, Defeat Concherer a few times on floor 81+. If you | |need Oath Veils, steal them from an Oversouled Adamantortoise or Machina | |Panzer. | | | |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------| This should be enough preparation, lets begin shall we.... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- BOSS BATTLE: PARAGON- HP- 200000(Oversoul- 210000) Level 99 -------------------------------------------------------------- OVERSOUL STRATEGY: If you followed the preparation from above, it will prepare you for both this battle and Trema Battle. If you are using the Higher Power GG, this will ensure your victory for both battles. If your using Dark Knight, the Darkness Attack should do about 6700 avg. HP Dmg, but its ATB bar is pretty slow. If you use the Warrior Dress sphere, it will do about 3400 HP DMG avg, but its ATB goes fast. Whatever you choose, it doesn't matter to much. The difference between a Non Oversoul Paragon and a Oversoul Paragon, is that the Non attacks when he wants, his agility seems to be faster, and he uses Powerful Physical attacks(like Genesis). The Oversouled Paragon will miss a lot with his regular physical attacks, but if it does connect, it will do around 2600 HP dmg to 3500 HP dmg avg. Setinel will reduce it to one. The best thing about the Oversouled Paragon that makes him so damn easy, is that he NEVER attacks unless you provoke him by attacking him, or harming him. After he loses about 45% of his HP, He will start to use Magic attacks. If you use Reflect, he will use Dispel. After taking about 70% of his HP, he will use an Ultima Attack. Other attacks he uses during oversoul, is Final Impact, but he rarely uses this. This attack does about 6000 Avg. if you use the accessories I've recommended. If you do wait long enough without him counter attacking you, he will use some Physical attacks like Judgement, but thats if you wait like 2 1/2 minutes. He will use the attack called Final Impact after you siphoned about 80% of his HP. This attack deals 10 hits, and each hit tears 12.5% of your Max HP and MP. This attack cannot be reduced in anyway. When the battle starts, he will oversoul. Since he cannot attack unless you provoke him to, use this time to prepare. Use this time to use a Stamina Tonic to increase your party's HP over the Break Limit. If you're using Dark Knight, his HP will increase near 21000 HP. If your using Warrior, it will increase near 16000 HP. Doesn't matter anyways, but keep this HP limit in mind for the Trema Battle. If you want, you can switch to Lady Luck and repeat Felicity attacks til she misses so Luck is Increased. Make sure you heal after Stamina Tonics since it doesn't auto-heal after use. After the Tonics, Use X-Potions to Increase your party's HP by max. After your HP, use Chocobo Wings to increase your party's speed. After all that preparing, have all 3 girls use Soul Springs to absorb his MP to 0. After this, have 2 Girls to attack and 1 girl to ready herself to either heal or ready herself for Soul Spring draining on Paragon. With this, Paragon will use Osmose EVERY turn. Take this time to hit him down hard and fast while the other girl is draining his MP. If you started out with no MP, then don't worry about wasting springs. Mana Springs will take forever since he has 9999 MP. While beating him down, don't forget to heal once in a while to prepare for the next battle. If you used Lady Luck's Felicity Ability during the beginning, your party's attacks will increase dmg to 3600 HP DMG. to 6700 HP DMG. Avg. Repeat beating him down while using springs so he only uses Osmose each turn til he dies. |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |NOTE: IF PARAGON IS OVERSOULED, HE CAN STILL USE MAGIC WITHOUT MP. | |YOU MUST USE SOUL SPRINGS AFTER EVERYONE OF HIS OSMOSE TO CONTINUE | |THE CHAIN OF HIS OSMOSE CASTINGS. | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| ******************************************************************************* PARAGON OVERSOUL SIDE INFO: (thnx Split Infinity for finding this info out). | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| ******************************************************************************* Heres a NON OVERSOUL STRATEGY: Strategy 1(HP Break Limit Strat): You must have at least a High MGDEF(at least over 175) to survive his Genesis attack. If you have at least 165 DEF, you can survive most of his physical attacks. Make sure you have a Crsytal Bangle equiped for this strategy. When the battle starts, cast a Stamina Tonic and Megalixir on your girls. At Level 99, your HP should be over 21000 If you're using Dark Knight. Use Remedies if he inflicts Itchy on you. Heal whenever necessary(at least 5000 HP remaining). With MGDEF of at least 185, his Genesis attack should inflict a near 4000 HP Dmg to 5400 HP Dmg. Like most of my strategies, I would of told you go use a Light Curtain for the Protect Spell and Chocobo Wing for a Haste, but in this case, don't waste your time. The reason why, is because his Genesis attack removes any positive status effects, making it useless and a waste of time. If you have 165 MGDEF, his Genesis should do around 5400 to 5700 HP DMG. If you have at least 170 DEF, his Physical attacks should do around 3300 to 3600 HP DMG. Some of his physical attacks ingore the def. and do around 9000 HP DMG, but its pretty uncommon for him to do those attacks. From now use REGULAR ATTACKS. DO NOT USE DARKNESS. WHY? Because triggering an attack that can bypass the Protect Spell/Shell Spell, will automatically trigger him to use Big Bang, which can inflict 99,999 DMG to your party. Big Bang also removes positive status effects, so Auto Life is useless against him. If you have a MGDEF of a near 240, his Big Bang should do about 50,000 HP DMG and half of that if you have 255 MGDEF. He also uses the Big Bang attack if you fail to harm him after a while(at least 3 to 5 minutes of him just sitting there), so prepare less and fast. Continue barraging him with regular attacks and heal when neccessary til he dies. NOTE: If you use this strategy, then use Strategy #1 with Trema and cast a Light Curtain in replacement of Defense/Shining Bracers. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 2(Without Break HP Limit): This battle will be a bit tougher with no Break HP Limit because you have to heal a lot more and hardly get attacks off him since he has a fast agility. Use Valiant Lustre in replacement of Higher Power and equip yourself with at DEF and MGDEF to survive against him. My recommendation to equip, a Crsytal Glove and Oath Veil on all your girls. Use Dark Knight for a better effect since he has one of the best stat boosts(besides Mascot). MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AT LEAST 60 MEGALIXIRS USING THIS STRATEGY. Ok, now lets begin.... When the battle starts, cast a Stamina Tonic to get your HP back to 9999. Heal afterwards and inflict a Regular attack on her. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT USE DARKNESS WHY? Because any attack that can bypass the Protect/Shell Status Spell on a Non Oversoul Paragon, will trigger him to use Big Bang the first chance he gets. He will also use Big Bang after a certain amount of time if you do NOT harm him(at least 3 to 5 Minutes). So don't sit there preparing to long or else he'll use Big Bang to obliterate you. For those of you who do NOT know what the Big Bang is. First of all, its not his Genesis attack, but a different attack that can also removes Positive status effects(making Auto Life useless) and does 99,999 HP Dmg. With MGDEF of 240, he will do at least 50,000 HP and with 255 MGDEF, he can do half that. Repeat healing til he uses his first Genesis attack. Don't waste your time using Spells such as Light Curtain or Chocobo Wing since it removes positve status effects(besides Stamina Tnoics and MP Reduction costs). Instead of wasting your time on those spells, just heal your last time to bring back your HP and attack him with Regular attacks. His Genesis should only do about 4000 HP Dmg to 5400 HP Dmg. if you have at least 185 Def. After you do some attacks, repeat healing til he uses Genesis again and attack again. Repeat this pattern til he dies. Remember to HEAL Constantly til he uses his Genesis attack since healing and attacking whenever your HP is at a Max before his Genesis attacks, results in a LONG LONG LONG stall time where you only have to heal and barely get any hits off him. NOTE: If you're using this strategy, use Trema Strategy #2. Just cast Light Curtains and Stamina Tonics to get your HP back to 9999. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 3(Without Break Limit HP): This strategy is a similar to strategy #2, but a little different and guaranteed to win a little better.I tested this strategy in 10 battles with Paragon and they have all worked out. Make sure you have at Valiant Lustre, Dark Knight, and 99 Megalixirs to support yourself in this battle and the Trema Battle. Equip your girls with only the Oath Veil and the Crsystal Bangle. Have your Garment Grid to be Valiant Lustre(of course). Make sure you put a Dress Sphere next to the Dark Knight dress sphere that has a good HP Boost. When the battle begins, use Megalixirs to heal even though you have full health. After a while, he will use the Genesis attack. With Oath Veils, your MGDEF should be at 185 with Valiant Lustre and Level 99. The ending damage result should be around 4700 HP to 5700 HP dmg. After the Genesis attack, use another Megalixir and have 2 girls use REGULAR ATTACKS. You can use Black Sky without him doing Big Bang, but the Wait time is LONG..... In the time you wait, you could probably do more damage to him than this will. Repeat healing with 1 Girl with the Megalixir and 2 girls attacking. Use Remedies when needed to cure the Itchy Status. If you need to, use 2 Girls to use Megalixir. His regular physical attack should do about 2300 HP dmg to 3500 HP dmg with this strategy and set up. If for some reason, he inflicts Itchy on all your girls, switch dress spheres with another dress sphere that has a good HP boost. If you want to switch dress spheres to heal Itchy, MAKE SURE YOU DO IT WITH ALL YOUR GIRLS Why? Because it prevents a stop in Paragon and he won't be able to do crap, but watch your girls undress and change... Use Megalixirs afterwards, regardless of HP. Repeat this til he dies... NOTE: If you use this Strategy against Trema, use strategy #2 against him. Just use Light Curtains to have a better defense. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~--~-~-~- If you remembered to heal once in a while, you should be near full health. BOSS BATTLE: TREMA- HP 999999 Level 99 --------------------------------------------- Trema consists of certain physical attacks. He usually does a 3 punch combo that does about 1300 total and avg. each time if you have the protect status. He also has physical attacks that can inflict the stop spell. Use your standby healers to heal them from this infliction. Don't be afraid to use Gunner to heal when needed. After 2 to 3 turns, he might use Demi to lower your HP. Once Trema loses 50% of his HP, he will use Meteor to bring your HP down. After 75% of his HP decreases, he will use Meteor again the first chance he gets to damage your HP greatly. Each hit will tear off 12.5% off your MAX HP. Protect will reduce it by half and Sentinel will reduce to 1. After Meteor, if you tear 85% of his HP, he will use Ultima the first chance he gets. If you drained his MP, then you won't need to worry about Meteors anymore. This battle will take about 30 to 45 Min. |----------------------------------------------------------------------| |NOTE: Chances are, you used a different dress sphere from the Paragon | |Battle. Take time to make a quick switch of dress spheres if you are | |using this strategy. | |----------------------------------------------------------------------| Strategy 1: When the battle begins, get ready to switch dress spheres if you used warrior in the Paragon Battle. Switch to Dark Knight so that he can damage Trema since His evasion is to high and you'll never hit him using physical attacks. Once your Dark Knight, use 1 Girl to use Megalixirs for a while since he moves fast by damaging you with his 3 comboed physical attacks. Its reduced greatly if you took my advice on the Shining/Defense Bracer equipment. If you have Higher Power GG, use Stamina Tonics to be at 21000 HP. If you don't have this, you'll have to depend on continuous healing while 2 girls do damage. Make sure you heal yourself after Stamina Tonics to be at 21000 HP since it doesn't auto-heal. After switching dress spheres, whether you used Stamina or not, use Twin/Three Stars on your girls so that they won't lose HP for using Darkness each turn. This will greatly reduce how much you get hurt. Use Chocbo wings to speed things up. When you use Darkness on him, the avg. damage to him will be around 6000 to 6700 HP each time. Use Soul Spring on him after all this to get rid of his Magic use. After this continue using the Darkness attack on three girls. When your 1 or 2 of your girls drop below 14000 HP, use X-Potions or Megalixirs to bring your HP back up. The reason why you should do it why its still high, is because when he drops below 50%, he will use a Meteor that will siphon 12.5 HP from your Max HP from 1 to 3 of your girls. You'll need as much HP as you can to NOT drop below critical. Keep using Darkness and heal when necessary. When he drops to 75% of his HP, he will use another Meteor. Re-heal and repeat tatics. He will use Meteor only twice in the battle. After 85%, he will use Ultima, but if you used Soul Spring, this is nothing to fear about. If you forgot, then its no big worry if you have over 9999 HP. Repeat and he will be finished off in about 5 Minutes or so. If you followed this strategy(with break HP limit), then victory is 95% guaranteed. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 2: If you do NOT have Higher Power GG, then this battle will still be just as easy. Make sure you have Valiant Lustre GG, Dark Knights, Twin/Three Stars, Mega Potions/Megalixirs(55/10), Chocobo Wings, Soul Spring, Remedies, X-Potions, Crystal Bangle, Defense/Shining Bracer, and at least level 99. Equip them all with Valiant Lustre, Defense/Shining Bracer, and Crystal Bangle. With this set up, you should have 9999 HP, and over 170 Defense(if at near level 99). Fight Paragon in Oversoul Form and lets get on with this Battle. When the battle begins, heal your girls all the way to full health. Then use Twin/Three Stars on the girls so they can use Darkness without losing HP. Use Chocobo Wings afterwards. Pay attention to the girls ATB bar since Trema will inflict Stop on you. Use Remedy when this happens. Use Soul Spring afterwards. After all this, lets assault him. Make sure 2 girls attack him with Darkness each turn while the other uses Mega Potion each turn. Its best to keep your HP near 9000 since he will use attacks like Meteor and Ultima. If you need to, have 2 girls use Mega Potions til your near 9000 HP, then resume attacking. Use Megalixirs if you feel you need to. Re-use the other Support Items when they run out. Twin/Three stars effect will NOT run out in this battle, so don't worry about re-using this item again. If you heal each turn with one girl with Mega Potion while the other 2 attack, your HP should always be near 9000 HP. When you decrease his HP by 50%, prepare for the first Meteor attack. With the Defense set up I suggested earlier, he should leave your party near 6000 HP to 4000 HP remaining. Time to heal. If you want, you can use your whole party to use Mega Potions, or quick heal by using Megalixir while the remaining attack. Repeat this strategy until you siphon 75% of his HP. He will use a second and final Meteor attack. Heal and resume attacking. After 85% of his HP is siphoned, he will go for a Ultima attack. If you siphoned his MP, he can't do anything but say its name. Time to change strategies a bit. Heal your girls back to 9999 HP. Now, lets assault him with all 3 girls. Since he doesn't use Meteor/Ultima anymore, you don't need to worry about keeping your HP high. Just assault him and heal when your 1 or 2 of your girls are below 5000 HP. Heal and assault him til he dies. NOTE: I know about the Invincibilty Thing with Alchemist. You can do that if desire to, but I choose not to include it since its just as cheesy IMO as catnip/gunner is since it doesn't require much of a battle since there isn't much supporting strategy going on as there would be for Catnip/Gunner. But then what, Mix Dark Matters(aquired from ONLY bribing Paragon in the game) and Holy Waters to create a Temporary Invincibility on girls. With this, the sky is the limit... for a while of course. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~--~-~-~- =============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Elder Drake Evasion |EDES| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- =============================================================================== Here, you will find the solution on getting past Elder Drakes when you see them on your screen. It IS possible to evade them all if you see them on your screen, but they will become random battles after cloister 80. By then, you should be able to beat them anyways. This section WILL Include Maps. Enjoy... NOTE: This section will name the number of cloisters that will have the drakes, not the number order in the Via Dungeon. Cloister #1 ------------------------ There is an Elder Drake at the beginning of this hallway. He does NOT charge at you, but jumps back and forth. Wait til he jumps back and run past. Just follow the path of the hallway and your done. |-------------| | Exit | | | | | | | | | |---------| | | |Save | |-------------| | Point | | |----------| |----\ | \ | | | | | | \------------------------\ | \ | | | | | | | | | / | /---------------------/ | / | / | / | / / | -------------------------/ | / | | | | | | | | | | | |--------| | | | Elder | | Drake | | |--------| | | | Start | |--------------| =============================================================================== Cloister #2 ------------------------ Solution: There are 2 Elder Drakes in this long hallway. They will both jump back and forth. Just wait until they jump back and run past before they jump foward.(Cloister looks exactly like the previous one). |-------------| | Exit | | | | | | | | | |---------| | | |Elder | |-------------| | Drake | | |----------| |----\ | \ | | | | | | \------------------------\ | \ | | | | | | | | | / | /---------------------/ | / | / | / | / / | -------------------------/ | / | | | | | | | | | | | |--------| | | | Elder | | Drake | | |--------| | | | | |--------------| =============================================================================== Cloister #3 ------------------------ Solution: Find Switch to get past Drake across the Pit. Only difference is that the second Elder Drake is at the end of cloister. At the end, there should be a pit. If you were to jump down, you might land on him as a suprise. To avoid this, you will need to jump down the side. |-------------| | Exit | | | | | | Elder | | Drake | |---------| | | | | |-------------| | | | |----------| |----\ | \ | | | | | | \------------------------\ | \ | | | | | | | | | / | /---------------------/ | / | / | / | / / | -------------------------/ | / | | | | | | | | | | | |--------| | | | Elder | | Drake | | |--------| | | | | |--------------| ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~--~-~-~- =============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mega Tonberry Evasion |MTES| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- =============================================================================== Here, you will find the solution to getting past Mega Tonberries you see on the screen. They will NEVER become random encounters. They are ALL EVADEABLE, so don't stress because you can't get past one. They are encountered after cloister 40, but become more likely to see past the 80th cloister. This section will include maps. Enjoy...(3 out of 6 Maps Completed. Check Next Update for Completion of them). Cloister #1 ----------------------- Solution: You will see a Mega Tonberry ahead of you, but you can't get anywhere in this cloister since its all blocked. So, turn around and head down to jump to the bottom floor. Run straight ahead and fight the normal tonberry to access lift. Go up the lift and it will take you to the other side of the top cloister. Jump down and run ahead, and you will be right in front of the Mega Tonberry. Luckily, it doesn't move, and your in back of it. DROP(don't press or hold O button). You will land behind the Tonberry and near the little square platforms you see going up. Step on the first one to access the exit. Solution: You start out in a room that has a straight path and an intersection. Here is an example map: _||_ -||- Anyways, head the right intersection, but DON'T ADVANCE YET. Why you ask? Because a Mega Tonberry is right in front of you. It is patrolling back and forth. Run past him by running beside him. While running, stick and hug near the wall while running. Once your past him, jump down and head north. Follow the path and jump down and head west. You'll see a Tiny Tonberry standing by a normal size one. Talk to him for an item, then head down the exit. =============================================================================== First Area/Main Area: |----------------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |------------------------|----------------|------------------------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Mega Tonberry | | | | | | | | | | | | | |------------------------|----------------|------------------------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Start | | | |----------------| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------> Second Area: |----------------| | | | | | | | | | | | Continue | | Path | | | | | | | |------------------------|----------------|------------------------| | | | | | | | | | Connecting Path | | | | Mega Tonberry | | | | Patrolling | | | | | | | | | | | |------------------------|----------------|------------------------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Start | | | |----------------| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------> Third Area: |----------------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |------------------------|----------------|------------------------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Continue | | | | Path | | | | | | | | | | | |------------------------|----------------|------------------------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Connecting | | Path | | | | | |----------------| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------> Fourth Area: |-----------------| | | | | | | | | | | |---------------| | | Small\Tiny | |E Tonberry | |X | |I | |T | | | |---------------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Connecting | | Path | | | |-----------------| =============================================================================== Cloister #3 ---------------------- Solution: You start in a similar cloister previous to the other, _||_ -||- except that there is a Save point in the middle. The other 3 Intersections contain switches. Beware of the intersection on the left, which contains a Mega Tonberry. It does not move, but its pretty close to the edge. When you head up the ledge, run directly to the left or right side to the wall. Run foward hugging the wall to pass it. BTW, its not always guaranteed that you will make it past on the left side of him, so head to the right side of him for a better chance. After pressing all the switches, jump down the hole. |----------------| | | | Switch | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |------------------------|----------------|------------------------| | | | | | | | | | Mega | | Small | |Switch Tonberry | Save Point | Tonberry Switch | | | Exit | | | | After | | | | Switch | | |------------------------|----------------|------------------------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Start | | | |----------------| =============================================================================== Cloister #4 ---------------------- Solution: When you begin, there will be a LONG bridge path going straight. It does go in a slant up, goes straight, and slant back down. The Mega Tonberry will be right in front of you patrolling back and forth. When you first see him, the first thing in your mind would probably be, that the exit is behind him, or you have to defeat him to unlock the exit. None of those thoughts are true. The real way to escape this cloister is to hop down the bridge when he walks away. Turn yourself left head there. Turn your position down and run holding O. There is another path to follow. You would of seen this path when you were journeying across it earlier. There are 2 paths here. One leading to a Save Point, and the other leading to the exit. Head down for exit. Follow the path until you see 3 Seperate paths of each other. Left one has a Small Tonberry, Middle one has another Mega Tonberry, Right one has a Small Tonberry. You have 2 Options, defeat Mega Tonberry to unlock exit, or Kill the 2 Small Tonberries which will make the Mega Tonberry disappear to unlock exit. =============================================================================== First Area/Main Area: |--------------------------------------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Mega Tonberry(Patrolling | | back and forth | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |---------|-------------------|--------| Head here| | for second| | area | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Downhill | |-------------------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Across | |-------------------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Uphill | |-------------------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Downhill | |-------------------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Uphill | |-------------------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Start | |-------------------| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------> Second Area: |-----------------| | Save Point | |------------| | | | | |----| |----| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | / / | | / / | | / / | | / / | | / / ---------------------| |----------/ / / <----(check bottom for remaining) / / -------------------------------------------------/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------> Third Area/Side Area of Area 2: |-----------------| | | | |------------------------------------| | | |Tonberry | | |-----------------| | | | | | |-----------------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |-----------------| | | | | | | | |-----------------| | | | |Mega Tonberry | | |-----------------| | | | | | |-----------------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |-----------------| | | | | | | | |-----------------| | | | |Tonberry | | |-----------------| | | | | | |-----------------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |---------------- | | ------> | (check above for | remaining) |----------------------------------- =============================================================================== Cloister #5 ---------------------- Solution: When you begin, you will be surrounded by Tonberries from Small to Mega. Don't get confused since the Mega Tonberry can never touch you or you touch it since its off the ledge and out of reach. Never assume that in this cloister, a Touch of a Small Tonberry will trigger a Small Tonberry battle. It will trigger the Mega Tonberry to walk towards you to initiate battle with him. Just avoid the small guys and you'll be fine. Some are stationary, and some patrol around, so don't get confused. If you do get confused, take advantage of the Camera they set up for you. To get out of this cloister, you will have to find the switch. Just look randomly for it and you will find it. They are always near the end of the path of one of the intersections. If you shift the camera, the switch will look alike, but only one is the real one. After finding the switch, jump down the hole created and your out. |-----| |Save | |-----| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Mega Tonberry | | Mega Tonberry | | |----|-----|----| | Tonberry | |------|--------------------| |--------------------|------| |Random| Tonberry | Start | Tonberry |Random| |Switch| | Exit | |Switch| |------|--------------------| |--------------------|------| | | |----|-----|----| | | Mega Tonberry | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |-----| |Save | |-----| =============================================================================== Cloister #6 --------------------- Solution: When you begin this cloister, the Mega Tonberry is right behind you when you start this place. This cloister is on a different ledge, so the battle with him is a surefire optional. This Cloister is VERY confusing and has many twists and turns. The only plus to fighting that Tonberry, is that it automatically transports you halfway of the cloister. Its not as hard as it seems to past this cloister. Just head Up and down the path and repeat this til you see the exit. =============================================================================== First Area: /--------------------\ / \ / \ | /--------\ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | ---------| | | | | | | <------ | | | Check 2nd | | | Area for more | | | ---------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |-------| | | |------|-------|------| |--------| | Save | |Mega | | Point | |Tonberry| |---------------------| |--------| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------> Second Area: /-------------------\ / \ / \ | /--------\ | /------------------------\ | | | | / \ | | | | / \ | | | | / \ | | | | / /----------\ \ | | | | | / \ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |---------| | | | | | | | | | | | | |----> | | | | |Check 1st Area | | | | |For more | | | |---------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |---------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |-------------| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | \--------/ | | | \ / |-----------------------| \ / \-------------------/ ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~--~-~-~- =============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cry In the Night Section |CINS| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- =============================================================================== In this section, I'll provide strategies on getting the Cry in the Night with ALL 3 Gun Mages. If you want to contribute a strategy to this section, make sure its Not a Mascot Strategy AND its before Trema... This section will mostly have strategies WITHOUT the Catnip/Gunner combo, but I will have one for an example. If you also want to contribute a strategy, make sure you have: (Check my strategies for an example) Preparation Info on what to use and what you'll need on that strat. Defensive Strategy Offensive Strategy Supportive Strategy(if there is one) When to switch to Gun Mage(if you start with a different dress sphere) Making sure it works at least 5 times out of 10 battles DO NOT SEND ME STRATEGIES THAT INVOLVE AN EXPERIENCE YOU HAVE DONE WHERE YOU COPY MOVES WORD FROM WORD. An Example of that would be: Paine did this, and then Fiend did this, etc. The things you will need too try to get the Cry in the Night is (Check Item/Preparation List for Locations where). _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ An Oversouled Mega Tonberry(REQUIRED) Dark Knight Dress Sphere Gun Mage Dress Sphere(or how else would you learn it..) Any strategy contributed to me will have the contributor name all the necessary info needed. Now, lets get on with the strategies... +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 1: MEGA TONBERRY: HP- 48600/MP 0(Oversoul- 51030) Level 90 ------------------------------------------------------- The first basic strategy. This will be the first and ONLY Catnip/Gunner strategy I will add to this section since its too basic and no real logic. Make sure your gunner is in yellow health and has the first strike ability. Use Highroad Winds/Mounted Assault GG or Sprint Shoes for First strike. When the battle starts, have the gunner use trigger happy 3 to 5 times. I would recommend 3 times so he doesn't use Cry in the Night so quickly. After the Trigger onslaught, wait for Three girls to get their ATB up and switch to the Gun Mage. Use the Gun Mages attacks to bring him down more to a neccessary HP limit. Use Anihilator or Mortar to get him down. Use Scan when neccessary to check his HP and wait for him to trigger it off. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 2(Break HP Limit): MEGA TONBERRY: HP- 48600/MP 0(Oversoul- 51030) Level 90 ------------------------------------------------------- With this strategy, you will be starting with 3 Warriors. In this strategy, we will be using the Break HP Limit effect, so equip your girls with the Higher Power GG. Be sure to equip at least Crystal Gloves and Crystal Bangles on your girls. When the battle begins, be sure to cast a Stamina Tonic while the other girl tosses a Megalixir on the party. Now that your party is at full health, you can use a girl to cast a Chocobo Wing, but not necessary. Once your HP is at Full Health, use Setinel to Protect yourself against his Chef's Knife attack. From this point on, you have 2 choices Stall out til he uses Magic attacks and heal yourself and revive whenever OR You can use Setinel and keep in sync with his attacks and attack right after he does. Which ever you pick, it doesn't really matter. Anyways, he will use Fire attacks after a few Chef's Knifes. His Chef's Knife will do moderate damage with the defense setup, so heal whenever you need to. Attack him when you want to really. You should be able to do about 2500 to 3500 HP dmg to him each turn. Keep track of the HP damage til he gets real weak. Once he is weak(around 12000 HP remaining), wait for all of your girls ATB go get all the way up. Switch to Gun Mage afterwards, simeltaneously to prevent him from doing much. Once you switch to Gun Mages, Scan him if you want and hit his HP down to whatever is remaining. Re-heal when needed. He should use Cry in the Night quickly when he has at least 6500 HP left. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 3(Without Break HP Limit): MEGA TONBERRY: HP- 48600/MP 0(Oversoul- 51030) Level 90 ------------------------------------------------------- With this strategy, you'll need to use Stamina Tonics, Valiant Lustre, Dark Knight, Three/Twin Stars, Crystal Gloves/Bangle, Megalixirs, and Mega Phoenixes. Equip your Dark Knights with Crystal Gloves/Bangle. Make sure your Dark Knight is inserted in the Garment Grid near the Gun Mage. Also, make sure you have the Garment Grid full of Dress Spheres(doesn't matter which) around the grids. Make sure the battle is started with Dark Knight. When the battle begins, be sure to cast a Stamina Tonic and Megalixir on your team. Though the Stamina Tonic won't have an effect on your Knights, it will have an effect for your soon to be Gun Mages appearing in soon. Mega Tonberry's Chef's Knife attack should do around 4300 to 5500 HP DMG to your Dark Knights, so there shouldn't be much worry. Heal when necessary and use Chocobo Wing if you want. Make sure you cast Twin/Three Stars afterwards. Before we get to the offense, lets do a little side thing to get your Defensive stats up. Make sure your at full health and your ATB is full. We will now switch dress spheres AROUND the Garment Grid. Make sure you go through all the nodes to get your MGDEF and DEF up. Switch all the way around back to the Dark Knight. Now lets get on with the offense. Use Darkness on him. Darkness should do around 6000 to 6300 HP DMG to Mega. Use Darkness 6 to 7 Times to get him low. After this, make sure your ATB is full again. Then switch to the Gun Mage. Do a quick scan if you want. Siphon his MP til hes around 6500 HP remaining and wait for him to do Cry in the Night. With this strategy, his Cry in the Night will hit you for a measily 800. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Strategy 4: MEGA TONBERRY: HP- 48600/MP 0(Oversoul- 51030) Level 90 ------------------------------------------------------- Just to let you know, this strategy will be similar to strategy 3. NOTE: I haven't personally tested most of this strategy myself, but the Blue Bullet info were from the GameFAQs message board users. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THE ANIHILATOR OR MORTAR BLUE BULLET ABILITES TO USE THIS STRATEGY. With this strategy, you'll need to use Stamina Tonics, Valiant Lustre, Dark Knight, , Crystal Gloves/Bangle, Megalixirs, and Mega Phoenixes. Equip your Dark Knights with Crystal Gloves/Bangle. Make sure your Dark Knight is inserted in the Garment Grid near the Gun Mage. If you want, you could switch around the grid like strategy 3 to increase your Defensive stats, but this strat. isn't necessary for it. Make sure your ATB is full and get ready to switch to the Gun Mage. Once you're a Gun Mage, use a girl to use Anihilator or Mortar on him to do some about 9999 DMG each hit. Hit him about 5 times and wait for him to use Cry in the Night. If for some reason, if something goes wrong where if all your girls have died at least once, heal yourself back to normal health and switch back to Dark Knight and prepare again. Switch back afterwards. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~--~-~-~- =============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tiny Tonberry Locations |TTLS| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- =============================================================================== There are 2 areas with really tiny Tonberries. They are usually standing next to a normal sized Tonberry. In one Cloister, If you talk to the regular sized Tonberry, it will give you 1 item. You can talk to the tiny one, but it won't do much. The other area will give you 2 Items, but you'll have to talk to the tiny Tonberry a few times. The best thing you can get is a Golden Hairpin(accessory) Just to let you know, they don't talk back, but only react by falling down. The Small Tonberrys Fall down and Laterns running out. =============================================================================== Cloister #1 ----------------------- NOTE: A map of this cloister is in the Mega Tonberry Evasion Section This Cloister appears after the 40th Cloister. The cloister that looks like a cross, _||_ but this one doesn't have a Save -||- Point in the Middle. Anyways, follow the path of this cloister(avoid Mega Tonberry if its there) til you get to the end of it. If you been here, you should of seen a Tonberry a few times here. The hard thing to miss, is the tiny guy. Talk to the Normal Sized and BOOM, Item is yours. =============================================================================== ----------------------- Cloister #2 This Cloister appears after the 40th Cloister, but its uncommon. It will be seen more past the 80th Cloister. This cloister is a straight path of pillars that you can run through. You will have to climb your way up, jump your way down, and run across. In the middle of this cloister, you will see a Normal sized and Tiny Tonberry. Its in plain clear view and not hard to miss. Talk to the Normal Sized Tonberry first. Get the first item and punk around the tiny guy for a while. Then talk to the Normal Sized Tonberry again for another Item. +-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ Here is a list of all the items you can get from these tiny little rascals. It will NOT include, Bribe Info, Steal/Drop Info, Status Infliction info, Weakness/Strengths, Exp/Gil Drop, and any other sort of info besides the ones I will be listing. Why? 1. Its a List, not a guide on it 2. I don't have that much time to put that much info in the guide(sorry) So a list and some basic info will be enough. All certain items that will be helpful in this Dungeon obtained from fiends, are in the Preparation sections, Walkthrough, and the Seperate Preparation/Item list section. To find Fiends easier, look for them by Type. The Fiend will oversoul when it is added. Example: 10+1= 11, meaning on the 11th kill, it will oversoul. Anything in parenthesis is Oversoul Info. This section also has another list that has Shinra's Bestiary Listing *Thanks to Split Infinity for letting me use his* Check the very bottom of the page for the listing(sepearte section). |---------------------------------------------------------------------------| |OVERSOUL TIP: If you fight a certain type of fiend and flee from it when | |it oversouls, you can enter a fight with the same type fiend, but different| |fiend to make that fiend Oversoul. | | | |Example: Omega Weapon Oversouls. It will be for ONLY them bosses. Here are some very good tricks to gain lots of money before the hard bosses occur and you want to bribe. NOTE: My formula was 6 x Max HP since its more guaranteed for me. Please do NOT send me E-Mail that you can do it lesser since I already know about the other forumla, but I do not care for it because it rarely works for me. -----------------------------------/ Infinite Gil Trick / ---------------------------------/ This trick REQUIRES Lady Luck and her Random Reels ability. Head to Cloister 70 to 74(or any other place that is inhabited by machina). High Level Machina Fiends work best with this trick(check the Thunder Plains Hole for High Level Machina or Cloister 70 to 74). When battle initiates, use Lady Lucks Random Reels(use Pause Trick to make the reels go a bit slower) and pull off the 777's. Its better to set the 777s on the bottom since its easier timed. Once you pull off the 777s, the Lady Luck will trigger the CONGRATS ability. Normally, this will bribe a fiend, but in this case, Machina are Immune to bribe. BUT, you will gain the money in the process. If you do this trick in the New Cave at the Thunder Plains or Via Infinito's cloister 70 to 74, you can initiate a battle with 2 Machinas(Killer Machina and Machina Leader). These 2 usually give out about 50,000 to 65,000 gil per CONGRATS. You can do it to other Machina, but they give out a bit less. Continue with CONGRATS til you feel you gained enough gil. -----------------------------------/ High CONGRATS Fiends / ---------------------------------/ I only have one for now, but its useful. Head either to Via Infinito cloister level 75 to 79 or the Farplane. Initiate a battle with Omega Weapon. Use CONGRATS on him (use the Pause Trick to make it easier) and he will give around 80,000 to 100,000 gil per CONGRATS. Plus with his 20,000 gil drop after battle, your gonna be rakin in the money. ---------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- Aranea | ---------------- Bribe Amount: 109680 Bribe Item: Black Lore Rare Bribe Item: Sword Tome Oversoul Bribe Amount: 200364 Oversoul Bribe Item: Sword Tome Oversoul Rare Bribe Item: Sword Tome ------------------------- Black Elemental | ------------------------- Bribe Amount: 59994 Bribe Item: Arcane Lore Rare Bribe Item: Arcane Lore Oversoul Bribe Amount: 65988 Oversoul Bribe Item: NONE Oversoul Rare Bribe Item: Arcane Lore ------------------------ Concherer | ------------------------ Bribe Amount: 2,059,680 Bribe Item: White Lore Rare Bribe Item: Bushido Tome Oversoul Bribe Amount: 2,162,664 Oversoul Bribe Item: Bushido Tome Oversoul Rare Bribe Item: Bushido Tome ------------------- Chac | ------------------- Bribe Amount: 2,627,100 Bribe Item: Supreme Gem Rare Bribe Item: Supreme Gem Oversoul Bribe Amount: 2,758,458 Oversoul Bribe Item: Supreme Gem Oversoul Rare Bribe Item: Supreme Gem ---------------------- Paragon | ---------------------- Bribe Amount: 1,200,000 Bribe Item: Dark Matter Rare Bribe Item: Dark Matter Oversoul Bribe Amount: 1,260,000 Oversoul Bribe Item: Dark Matter Oversoul Rare Bribe Item: Dark Matter ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~--~-~-~- =============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Boss Mathematical Statistics |BMSC| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- =============================================================================== This section was contributed by the GameFAQs user: Pslite(formerly known as, "The Coach"). This contains all the mathematical statistics of each boss. If you're confused by this or have no math intelligence about this.... Well, I can't exactly help you on this either since I lack that sort of intelligence. Since this user usually lingers around the Final Fantasy X-2 General board on GameFAQs, it would be best to ask him about this, if you have any questions. Aranea STATISTICS: Well, when you get into battle with this boss, it will usually first start out with its double-hit attack. Then, continue with a possible ratio of 3:4 (75%) times of using its double hit attack and around a 1:4 (25%) ratio of Chewing you & spiting you out. After about a few rounds or so of Aranea continuing that sequence, he will put his arms over his mouth and will use its “Gooey End” attack which is an attack against all our girls inflicting Poison, Stop, Str Down 1 level, and Mag Down 1 level. This sequence is continued by this boss throughout the entire battle. Black Elemental STATISTICS: Once you start the match, there is actually a pretty high ratio of its first attack being Ultima (the ratio can sometimes vary though). Then, it should go in a sequence of about 9-10 attacks before casting Ultima. In these 9-10 rounds, it has a ratio of 5:9.5 (53%) of using berserk on one of your characters, a ratio of 2.5:9.5 (26%) of using Mag Up and a ratio of 2:9.5 (21%) of casting Flare. After those 9-10 it will use Ultima again (if it has already used it) and will go on with this sequence throughout the entire battle. It also has a very low ratio of using Absorb which can also vary at times. Concherer STATISTICS: It will usually primarily it you with its regular attacks, and the ratio for that is about 13:25 (52%). Other then its regular attacks, it will have a ratio of about 8:25 (32%) of hitting you with Gunk which will attack your MP and poison you. Then, it willhave a ratio of about 4:25 (16%) of using Megaton Press on you (which will really hurt BTW). This Boss will turn and look towards its target and use either one of these attacks. Megaton Press takes a while to actually hit compared to when it uses Gunk or hits you with its regular attack. Chac STATISTICS: When you start the battle, (if you scan Chac, it will say that it primarily use its physical attacks, don't believe it!) it will go for about 4 to 5 turns and use Heaven's Cataract on you. During those 4 to 5 turns, it was have a ratio of about 1.6:4.5 (37%) of using its regular attacks on you, and have a ratio of 2.7:4.3 (63%). When you see Chac cover its eye with both arms, Stony Glare is coming and when you see Chac lean back with its arms on the ground in front of her, Heaven's Cataract is coming. Paragon STATISTICS: When you encounter this boss, it will have a 4:5 (80%) ratio of nailing you with its regular attacks. Then, it will also have a 1:5 (20%) ratio of using Genesis on you which is critical damage to all party members. You will know when he's using Genesis by him putting his hands in front of himself and over his face. When attacked with his regular physical attacks, it may also inflict an abnormal status change as well as draining your HP, and this may also vary on statistics. Trema STATISTICS: In this battle, as you see above, Trema has 7 different attacks + a 3 attack combo in which each hit attacks 3 times (If you don't understand what I mean, it's 9 hits total). The ratio can sometimes vary for many of Trema's attacks, though these values may be rage differently, you still may pick up some anticipation from these. The ratio of Trema using his 3 attack combo is around 9:10 (90%) and will use it very often. The ratio for Waning Moon would be about 1:20 (5%), the ratio for Beguiling Mire is about 1:50 (2%), the ratio for Chocking Mist is about 3:50 (6%), the ratio for Flare and Demi are somewhat the same which is about 7:50 (14%), also the ratio for Ultima and Meteor can also vary depending on Trema's state at times. The ratio and percentage for Ultima and Meteor are lower than Flare and Demi possibly ranges from about 1:100 (1%) to about 11:100 (11%). Elder Drake STATISTICS: Well, there's really not much to say about its statistics, all this boss does it attack at an impressive speed and uses Pyroplexy when attacked with magic. Don't try to sweat this Boss too much that is. Mega Tonberry STATISTICS: There's also not much statistics with this fiend as well, all it will do on you is Chef's Knife and it has a pretty low ratio of doing Karma when hurt pretty bad. It will attack you like the Mini Tonberry attacks you, just walking up to its target and striking her with his chef's knife, careful though, its attacks are extremely powerful and its speed is also pretty decent as well. ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~--~-~-~- =============================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Version History |VUS| ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- =============================================================================== December 27, 2003 Version 0.1 Finish Guide, Might add more stuff too it.
