Elder scrolls: Oblivion shivering isles Walkthrough Written by: Vonfuzzball This file is Copyright (c)vonfuzzball all rights reserved. This guide will give you a full in site on the expansion pack to the original game the elder scrolls: Oblivion, arguably the best game ever. ^_^ There are two different kinds of people who play this game, those who play the game for fun and explore the full map and try find new weapons, armour and other secrets along the Way and there are others that go on a quest for the extra gamer achievements who miss the best bits of the game and lose out. Which will you be? When you get on to the game after you have loaded it wont seem all that different in Fact it will be exactly the same until after a while (about a day) you get a quest marker on your map which leads to a strange enchanted door that has appeared in to nebonay bay near bravil. Swim out to the marker in the water on to the little island with a figure of three heads and the one in the middle will have a glow from the mouth, that’s the mysterious world that awaits your arrival. Go and speak to the guard standing outside the portal then wait until he kills the man Who tries to exit the portal, talk to him again and he will grant you permission to enter the door at which point you enter. ******************** Into The Fringe Once you have spoken to the man at the table in a small cramped room with a man called Haskil. He will tell you to sit, do so and he will start talking to you about his role as the chamberman To his lord Sheogorath. He will give you the option to leave DO NOT as this will just waste the 2500 ms points you used to get the expansion pack (this is the only way to get the expansion pack unless you are using a PC) that leaves you with one option to agree to enter. He will walk over to the other side of the room and will appear to leave, after a few seconds more the room dissolve in to butterflies. ******************** Through the fringe of madness Congratulations your first achievement and first view of your new landscape, you will see a very Hilly terrain, with new plants and animals. Now’s a perfect chance to go exploring see new things Plants and animals. Once you are done with exploring go to the near by town called Passwall, there Will be quite a few people who are waiting to get to the rest of the shivering isles. Talk to a character about the gatekeeper and they will tell you to watch as he is about to claim The lives of some crazy adventures. Watch as the gatekeeper kills the men in armour, there will Be one survivor who flees in terror. There are two ways you can do this next bit, you can either go kill the gatekeeper straight away Or you could do the quest that your journal says. I recommend you go back and do the quest as this Will make it easier when you decide to fight him. First go back to Passwall and go speak to the Red Guard man who will tell you that he believes a man Named Jayred knows how to defeat the gatekeeper. Go and speak to Jayred and he will tell you that An easy way of defeating the gate keeper is to use its very own bones by firing them at him using a Bow. He tells you there are some of these bones in the garden of flesh and bone. He asks you to come Along as he cannot pick the lock and needs your help to do so. Follow him to the north west of the map until he reaches these gates to the garden of flesh and bone Where he will stop for you to pick the lock. Once you enter beware you will be attacked by a Mixture of humans, monsters and even humans! Make sure all the enemies are dead and Jayred will grab Some bone from the skeleton, then you will be told to meet him in a couple of hours. Use the wait (back) button to wait the necessary time. Go to his house and the bone arrows should be ready, he will invite you to fight the gatekeeper with him. After doing this short quest the gatekeeper should be a breeze ^_^ (for once) shoot a couple of Arrows and the gatekeeper should fall quite easily. Once he is defeated search his dead corpse for The keys. Jayred will talk to you once more and once this is done you can chose to enter the gates. Once you have entered through the gates just like with oblivion you can feel free to explore the Full extent of the shivering isles map. Once you decide you want to get on to the main quest your Target will be to get to lord Sheogorath to get on with the main story line. He lives in a place Called New Sheoth, which is positioned to the east of the map. When you reach the palace in New Sheoth, find the throne room and speak to Sheogorath, who’ll give you a new task to deal with. ******************** A better mousetrap Sheogorath will explain the story to you, he wants you to stop jyggalag, the ruler of the order Feel free to inquire with Haskill about this quest if you’re unsure of what to do. The long and short of it is that you’re going to have to go to a place called Xedilian, find three of the focus crystals that have been lost in the ruins, and return them to their resting places. That will let you head to the centre of the ruins and retune a sound wave that the structure is using to cause adventurers from Cyrodiil to want to come to the Shivering Isles. Xedilian is located in the southern section of the Isles. It’ll be marked on your map when you receive the quest, so head that way and find the dungeon. There’s a small town nearby if you wish to buy or sell anything, but your goal is to reach Xedilian itself. Enter the ruin using the bridge in front, throughout the ruin you will discover that there Are Gummites littering the place. When you encounter them just kill them like you would any Other enemy as they are not that hard to dispose of. Once you approach your first metal grate You will see a push block on the wall near you press it and you will enter a room with grummets Kill these and kill the shaman the one that was firing lightening at you, loot his staff and You will find the focus crystal on top. Activate the torch like object near you and place the crystal in its spot. Doing this will open a gate near by, go through this gate and down the hallway where you will Find another push button directly in front of you. Pushing this button means that you will drop In to the level below another shaman is nearby, with another Crystal. After killing the shaman and affixing the second Focus Crystal, you’ll be able to move on to the Halls of Judgment. The third and final shaman is near the entrance to this area, she has a chameleon spell on her so look for distortions in the air to discover and after kill her and then light up the last Judgment Nexus. More company? Yes a group of adventures at this point will enter the dungeon and your goal is To either kill them or drive them mad. There are 3 traps (read the book of Xedilian for more Info) each has either a dementia resolution (the orange buttons) or a mania resolution (green Buttons). The orange buttons will drive them mad and the green buttons will kill them. Once they are dealt with you will gain the Duskfang/Dawnfang weapon. They will die and you will Return to the beginning chamber, once you are there you will be attacked by some knights of The order, a group trying to stop Sheogorath. Hastily deal with these annoying people, once Dealt with be sure to loot their bodies to get the hearts of order, to help you open chests later In the game. If you read the book, you’ll find out about the sword, every opponent you kill the sword will Increase in power. If you kill people with the blade in the day it gets stronger during the night And if you kill at night it will get stronger during the day so try keep it balanced. Return to Sheogorath, and more details of the plot fall into place: you’re to stop Greymarch, which Is apparently the millennial time when the forces of Order wipe out the realm of Madness. Before you can do so, though, Sheogorath wants you to understand his realm a bit better, and thus tells you to speak to his two lieutenants, the Duke of Mania and the Duchess of Dementia. You can speak to them in any order; they can be found in the House of Mania and the House of Dementia, the doors to which can be found near Sheogorath’s throne in the room. ******************** Addiction Find Thadon he will be either at his throne or painting a picture. After a while of talking to you he Will give you the task of cueing his addiction to a drug called Felldew. You will have to find a chalice. Speak to one of Thadon’s advisers who will give you the location of the chalice in Dunroot burrow You can decide to walk there or fast travel, once there you will find that you can’t open the cave Door. You will have to eat some Felldew which should be outside the cave near you. Once done You will be able to enter the burrow. When the drug wears off and it will do so quickly you will find you will have an addiction to the Drug, you will have a 5 point drain on intelligence, strength and agility, after a while more Effects will happen only it’s an increase in willpower, speed and endurance. As you find felldew On the ground keep picking it up and eating it at least until you get to chalice so things go Back to normal. Ok fight your way through the Elytras until you arrive at the Kelp fen and continue through, there Are some flame stalks to pick up if you like making potions. Keep going through the dungeon until You reach the Sanctum of Decadence, once inside you will find some felldew addicts. If you are Feeling good you could simply take the chalice, which will reverse the addiction on the guys But if you want more power for your sword I recommend you kill them. Once you have obtained the chalice exit the area, there’s an Obelisk of Order outside the exit here, and a new Priest of Order who’s watching over it. You can’t kill the Priest while the Obelisk is activated, so if you wish, you can shut it down. Do so by killing three Knights of Order and looting the Hearts of Order off their bodies. Place three of them into the Obelisk by walking up to it and activating it, then quickly kill the Priest of Order while the Obelisk is shut down, or he’ll simply open it up again. Bring the Chalice back to Thadon to end the quest. ******************** The Lady of Paranoia The next quest is for Syl you should be able to find her on her throne every day in the morning At 11 o clock. And if your lucky some time in the rest of the day. She asks you to try and Expose a plot against her and tell’s you to speak with Herdir in the dungeons below. He’ll tell you what she wants: you need to speak to people in Crucible, and discover who conspires against Syl. Speak to someone about the conspiracy if the topic Conspiracy stays gold after speaking to them, then you can have Herdir torture them to find out what they really know. You can start with Kithlan, although numerous people will probably point you in the same direction. If you have Herdir torture Kithlan, he’ll point you towards Anna, the young woman who roams the ground of the House of Dementia. Her position will also appear on your compass. She’ll point you Ma’zaddha, a cat-man who lives in Crucible. Unfortunately, when you torture him, he’ll refuse to give you any information. If you wander around torturing people you will find they wont give you any information because They don’t know anything. One person who will respond is another cat-man called Bhisha. He will tell you that Ma’zaddha meets with an enforcer named Nelrene at night behind the shops in Crucible. Find a secretive place to wait after midnight, where you can’t be seen to overhear the conversation. And here’s your proof of the conspiracy, when the two are done talking go and speak with Ma’zaddha And he will tell you to meet him at midnight the next day at his house. Wait a day or so until midnight and go to his house. You will find him dead, but if you loot his body you Will find some keys. Go upstairs to and open his cabinet to find the sword of nelrene’s and a note Explaining fully about the plot. Bring that to Nelrene, who’ll likely be standing guard in the House of Dementia, and you’ll have enough evidence to confront Muurine, the mastermind behind the plot. Speak to her, and she’ll confess without much difficulty. Speak to Syl in the morning, and she’ll warp Muurine into the torture chambers and ask you to join her down there. Syl will kill Muurine, and give you a new bow, the Ruin’s Edge, which casts a random spell effect on the target. You can also loot Muurine’s body for some keys if need be. ******************** The Cold Flame of Agnon After a while of rambling on Sheogorath will finally tell you He wants you to stop the Greymarch. The Flame of New Sheoth has burned out, and you need to go get it back. He warns you to leave his minions alone. You are to travel to a fort north west of the isle, which is filled with Golden saints and one dark Seducer. The Golden Saints and Dark Seducers do not have good opinions of each other. You'll eventually learn that the Golden Saints are planning an attack to get the flame from the Mazken (dark seducers). You can choose to either help the Dark Seducers by defending against the attack, or you can scout ahead for the Golden Saints and warn them to attack through the Underdeep. Both commanders want to defeat their rivals, and you can help either side. The battle is actually quite epic, and after you annihilate the side you picked against, the leader of your side will sacrifice themselves in the altar. To obtain the flame you will have to go back up to the surface, walk into the flame so you can Capture it. Once you have it proceed to New Sheoth and enter the church. You have the option of giving the flame to either Mania or Dementia. Both priests will offer you a reward for putting it in their side. Arctus, the nord priest, will offer you the raiment of Intrigue this raiment will boost the following: Sneak, Security, Speed and luck. You can obtain this raiment if you light the fire for Dementia. If you decide to go with Dervenin, the Wood Elf in the hood he will offer you the raiment of Arden-Sul. This will boost Intelligence, Shield, Resist Paralysis, and Willpower I recommend this if you are a Warrior or a mage. ******************** Ritual of Accession If you report to Sheogorath (he may appear in the pews of the Sacellum after you light the flame), he’ll tell you to become the sovereign of either the House of Mania or the House of Dementia. Speak to both of the priests in the Sacellum to learn their specific rituals of Accession. For Mania, you’ll have to get Thadon to eat three pieces of a poisonous substance named Greenmote; for Dementia, you’ll have to cut out Syl’s heart. Whichever task you perform, you’ll need to bring an object from the body back to the Sucellum to complete the ritual. You can only choose one of the two options; when you do so, speak to Sheogorath to get started. NOTE: If you are wanting to get all of the achievements I would recommend you save here as there Are different achievements for both different quests you do. So if you save the game you can do both ^_^. ******************** Ritual of mania In order to perform the Ritual of Mania, the current ruler must overdose on greenmote, a potent drug which will kill in three doses. This quest requires lots of sneaking, and resembles many of the Dark Brotherhood quests. The Priest of Mania, Dervenin, will tell you to bring back his blood. Talk to some random townspeople to find out about Thadon and they will probably point you to Wide-eye, Thadon's argonian servant. She can be found in the conservatory reading, or in Thadon's court, or sleeping... in the same bed as Thadon's other servant. Bribe her to raise her deposition to the max and she will tell you about her daily routine, most of It is inconvenient to you but she will mention about her “special errand” at 8 o clock. Also ask her about Greenmote she will tell you nothing about it no matter what but you can follow her. Wait at the conservatory at about 11:30 and follow her all the way to the palace grounds where the Greenmote Silo is hidden behind a secret statue. Tip: try and take some invisibility potions you May need them later on. ;) Once you enter the cave and after a bit of walking you will have the choice of three paths, I Recommend you take the right one as there are no other guards here. As you move on stay in Sneak mode and keep moving around in the shadows, I recommend you take off any armour you Are wearing and boots as this will make it more likely you will be caught. Towards the end You will discover a door and if you go through it you will see Wide-eye doing something near The desk, and near her a pile of greenmote. You only need two samples so take those. The quickest way out is being caught by the guards and simply paying off the fine. Once you have the greenmote your next destination is to the private quarters. Enter through the locked door in the back of the conservatory, and be careful, as there are more golden saints in here. Take a left at the entrance, and the food and drink that you need to poison are all the way on the left, passed two Golden Saints. You can either sneak by or kill them, killing them only gives you a bounty of 5 gold and if you don’t like sneaking is the easiest option. Now once that is done go into the last room and activate the tray of food to put the poison In also be sure to position the largest wine bottle and then poison it. Once you have done that Wait until 8 while sat down at thadon’s table. Watch him consume the poison, after he has eaten He will get up and start talking to you, half way through he will clutch his heart and die. Be sure do get his blood and possibly any other valuable items he may possess. Once the deed is done head back to the temple and put the blood on the altar, the blood will Immediately catch on fire and you will be pronounced duke of Mania. Syl will interrupt the Ceremony to tell you that Knights of Order have taken over the Fringe, and that she is sick of Sheogorath. ******************** Ritual of Dementia If you want to become the Duke of Dementia this requires you to assassinate the current duke Syl. Go speak with her court, whom you can persuade to help you. Talk to both Anya and Kithlan, who are both tired of Syl and they will both offer to help you kill her. Anya will distract the guards, and Kithlan will give you the key. Once you are in the private quarters you will immediately be attacked by Mazken, kill him and find out that syl has escaped through the tunnels. Activate Shegorath's statue to enter Xirethard, avoid the spells being thrown at you and keep Advancing and at the same time killing every Dark Seducer you come across. Once you reach syl Kill her and be sure to get her heart and any other valuable possessions she may have. Go back to the temple. This causes the exact opposite thing to happen as last time. Thadon comes in, upset at the death of Syl, and promises to join the enemy, typical. >_> ******************** Retaking the Fringe Whichever House you take over, you’ll witness the resignation of the other House, as well. You’ll net the Ring of Lordship (with stats that are either randomised or which change based on which House you support), and will get a new quest from Sheogorath when you talk to him. At this point you will have to head back to the fringe and to passwall, Grakendo Udico there will fill you in on the situation. The keepers of the Fringe will be either Dark Seducers or Golden Saints depending on whether you picked Mania or Dementia. The guards will be under attack by The knights of order, help your comrades finish off the enemy and speak to whoever is in command. You will be asked to command the troops, you can choose to have them; stand ground, go on the flank Or stand back with a bow. (I recommend you choose equally between stand ground and flank so leaving One on the bow as this is the easier option) If all your men survived the first wave this will be Possible, if not you will have to reform them in a different way. The enemy will attack in 3 waves with 3 troops in each, they wont be all that hard to defeat, especially with your allies. Once this has been dealt with go speak to the commander yet again, to be informed of her plan. The plan is to sneak into the ruin of Xedeffen and deactivate the Pillar in the middle of Passwall. You will be told to travel to xedeffen, do so and then cross the mini lake work your way through the Maze (its not that hard) and go through the entrance. Upon entering there will be a priest and a Knight. You will be able to obtain a key if you loot the priests dead body. Head through the first section of the ruins to reach the Fane. There are a couple of gates here that won’t open, but you should be able to find a door leading to the Great Chamber. Inside the Great Chamber, you’ll run into Shelden, former leader of Passwall. He apparently attempted to escape from the knights by hiding in Xeddefen but wound up right in the middle of them! How unlucky! Invite him to accompany you, and he’ll do so, providing a bit of a distraction to the knights that you encounter. He can’t die, so don’t worry about him. Just get to the Obelisk and plant three Hearts of Order into it. If you don’t have enough, kill some Knights and take them off their bodies. Don’t forget about the crystal chest here on the ground. After plugging three crystals in to the Obelisk, it will crush on itself and the whole place will start Falling around you. Now your main aim is getting out of the god-forsaken place. You will not be able to Exit the way you entered, you will have to take a new path opened due to it collapsing. Get there and Start heading north-west through the tunnel. There will be enemies here but don’t bother wasting your Valuable time dealing with them just focus on getting out. Jump and dodge your way through the remaining section, then get back to Passwall to speak to Udico, who’ll tell you to return to Sheogorath. ******************** Rebuilding the Gatekeeper Sheogorath will have another task for you when you return. He has the idea of building a new gatekeeper so that you won't need to sacrifice golden saints to hold The Fringe. you'll need to travel to the ruin of Xaselm, which is conveniently located near the Gates of Madness. If you talk to Haskill about it first you will be able to fast travel to the destination and thus save some time. Once you are there you will have to track down Relmyna again to get her help. Head through the First area to reach the Experiment Chambers. The Experiment Chambers are filled with devious traps and experiments that Relmyna has been running on the beasts of the Isles, and not a few humans, to boot. Feel free to explore and read her scrolls if you like, or simply keep to the hallways until you find the Sanctum of Vivisection. You might want to save your game before speaking to Relmyna. Once you reach her you will be told to return To the garden of flesh and bone to find new ingredients for the new gatekeeper: Osseous Marrow Dermis Membrane Essence of Breath Blood Liqueur Make your way to the Gardens of Flesh and Bone, the entrance to the ruin part is right across the courtyard. Be careful as you walk in, as there's more falling rocks. You have map markers to each of the ingredients, which should make them easy to find. Some branches will open before you, others require cleverly disguised switches that look like plants. Osseoous Marrow is in the Conservatorium Corposculum, on a balcony in the southern part of the zone. It looks kind of like an oversized Shambler. Dermis Membrane is in the same zone. Walk over the log bridge and jump down to skip a lot of fighting. Essence of Breath will be located in the Caverns of Susseration. When you first enter the ingredient will Be a few levels below you. Follow the green mist, this area will contain a few hungers who are easy to Kill, be sure to get your agility sapped. When you reach the Essence of Breath, wait for the vial to fill up before taking it. There's a boss "stump" nearby. Wound Bled Tears will be towards the back of the dungeon. To access the room that contains the item you'll need to push three blocks on the small tomb in front of the door. Each block will spring a different trap, so jump out of the way once you push them. Then, wade across the pool of blood to grab the ingredient. Return to Relmyna, who will tell you to go select the parts of the gatekeeper. Choose wisely, as the choices you make will have an effect later. After creating the gatekeeper, you can activate it to get a special power from the gatekeeper. You can only have one of these at a time, but don't fret, you can always return for a new one. Relmyna will then lead you to the Fringe just watch the events that follow, walk in to the pool of Death and place the ingredients in there, she will summon a Flesh Atronach to sacrifice itself in The pool and it will be done. Some knights of order will come, and you can watch the Gatekeeper destroy them. Just like the former one, Return to Sheogorath and tell him of the new gatekeeper. ******************** The Helpless Army Sheogorath will begin to congratulate you but halfway through either a Golden Saint or a Dark Seducer will enter, The Golden Saints want you to go help out at Brellach, to the North East, and the Dark Seducers need help at Pinnacle Rock. Both missions are pretty much exactly the same. The messenger relates the fact that Sheogorath’s army is under siege by the forces of Order, and requests that you go and assist them. Agree to that, and then travel to Brellach, the Golden Saint stronghold. When you arrive, speak to Issmi, who tells you that the captain of the Golden Saints has been captured and is being held captive inside Brellach. Enter Brellach with the Saints on your side and start fighting through the forces of Order as you come across them. Don’t forget that you can block and talk to an opponent to yield if you accidentally zap them or hurt them in some fashion. Your Golden Saint charges will fight alongside you, and heal themselves after each fight, so they shouldn’t be overly difficult to keep alive. Fight your way through the enemy until you reach the Halls of Reverence, smash the large chime crystal Hanging from the ceiling to break the doors and reveal the crystal chest. There’ll be a locked door here that’s seemingly impassable, but if you walk up the steps behind it you’ll find a switch for it near an urn. Eventually you will come to Staada, who’s encased in a crystal prison. Find the chime up the steps nearby and ring it to smash the crystal and free her. As soon as you leave, the Dark Seducers/Saints will freeze and you'll be left alone for the rest of the ruin. When you reach the end, you'll see the Wellspring, (that's your goal), stopped up by crystals. Although There are enemies in this room but focus on getting all the chimes ringing at the same time, to release Your allies who will then rush in and help you out. They'll give you two things, the armour of the faction you helped out, and a spell to summon one of them to help you out in battle. ******************** Symbols of Office Go back and speak with Sheogorath, he will spill the beans and tell you that he is Jyggylag he will Grow and then vanish leaving you with Haskill for company. Haskill has an idea. He sends you to a place called "Knifepoint Hollow", the lost library of Jyggylag He believes if you go there you could somehow figure out a way to sit on Sheogorath's throne with his staff. This will allow you to stop the greymarch, head down to his library located in the center of the isles. Near the entrance to the Hollow, you’ll see a doorway in an area to your left that you have to drop down to reach. That leads to the Chantry. Nothing of import there, but near the end of it you’ll find a small chapel that the Zealots here are using. A hidden button on one of the posts will lead to some random treasure. When you crack open the crystal door here in the Hollow, you’ll find Dyus, a seer character who holds the secrets to reconstructing the Staff of Sheogorath. He asks you to retrieve two items for him: the Eye of Ciirta, in the Howling Halls, and a Branch from the Tree of Shades in the ruins of Milchar. The halls are located south of New Sheoth, The Halls are located south of New Sheoth, atop a large ridgeline; it’s easiest either to approach from the direct north or south, although you can climb up from the village of Dustwallow if you have that waypoint marker. Kill the apostle inside the doorway and nab his Howling Chamber Key. Now, if you wish, you can grab one of the Apostle’s Robes off of this guy’s body, or on the bench nearby, and wear that to avoid having the other Apostles be hostile to you. You can feel free to talk to the other Apostles nearby, if you like, but eventually you’ll want to head into the Congregation Chambers. If you have your robes on at this point, the worshiper named Ra’kheran will speak to you. He wants to help you kill Ciirta, but he’ll only do so if you can bring him three Apostle’s Daggers that some of the other apostles here carry. If you do so, he and his group will assassinate Ciirta. It’s up to you whether or not you wish to take Ra’kheran up on his offer. Ciirta can be a difficult kill solo, although with your summoning powers you probably won’t have any problems with her. If you agree to Ra’kheran’s plan, grab three daggers (the three apostles in the first area of the dungeon that you just entered from should all have them), bring them to him, and wait for him to enter Ciirta’s chambers. (If you can't find enough daggers, you can kill the cultists that actually wear them on their hips to find more.) While Ra’kheran and Ciirta talk, you should be able to sneak attack and kill Luminary Kaz. When the fight is joined, help kill Ciirta, then grab her Eye from her body. If you don't want to help Ra'kheran, feel free to sneak around the base and kill off the cultists with sneak attacks. Heck, even if you do help him, you can do this after Ciirta's dead. You can find the entrance to Milchar in the ruins on the hill southeast of the small village of Hale. Find the large tree that grows there; you'll see the root system below it. Head into the Nexus area and save your game! It's important that you save your game before you enter the Grove of Reflection area here, for a couple of reasons. When you do enter it, the game will instantly create a copy of yourself that you're going to have to fight. If you go in at full power with a lot of equipment, this fight can be all but unwinnable. We personally went in as a day-four vampire with a ton of poisons and scrolls on us, and we got crushed by our reflection. What you want to do here is find a tree stump or treasure chest near the Grove of Reflection and dump almost all of your equipment into it, being sure to include your poisons as well. When you're completely naked, head into the Grove of Reflection, and you'll get a quest notice reading "I've arrived in the Grove of Reflection…." At this point, the game will generate your shadow copy of yourself. This is a permanent copy, so if you leave the Grove and come back, it will still remain the same. (If you're a vampire, you may want to head to Hale during the night and feed before entering the room to prevent your copy from having the advanced stats that you do.) Shadow Boxing Thus, what you want to do here is leave the Grove, get all of your equipment back, then re-enter the Grove your normal self. With this done, you can drop down and activate the green stone in the middle of the pool here. Your shadow self will appear nearby and attack you. Now, your shadow has access to all of the spells and equipment that you had on you when you first entered the Grove of Reflection, so spellcasters might have a harder time here than other classes will. Our fighter character, though, was able to face an opponent with no armor on and who could cast nothing more impressive than Summon Scamp, so this wasn't too difficult a fight for us. Regardless, if you approached this correctly and managed to unequip yourself before entering the area, you should be able to take down your foe without too many problems. With the shadow dead, you can nab a Screaming Branch by jumping up to the tree at the rear of the room. With that done, press the button on the stone wall in this area to find a teleport back up to the Nexus. With the Eye and the Branch, return to Dyus and he'll create for you the Incomplete Staff of Sheogorath. All that's left is to dip it into the Font of Madness in the throne room in New Sheoth. ******************** The Roots of Madness When you arrive and try and soak the staff the fountain will not work. Talk to Haskill and he will tell you The fountain has been tainted by the order, either syl or Thadon is the culprit. Your task is to clense this. Your first step is to enter the Fountainhead, the enterance is at the back of the tree The door will lead into a cave which leads under new sheoth. The beings you are looking for are the tame Gnarls who Will open the doors which would normally be blocked by Order crystals. The first gnarl you see will open the door for you so you can proceed. Once you are in the second area there are various Paths you can take. looking at the ceiling to find "Gnarl Cultivators", they're shaped like huge lampshades and teeth. These will spawn tame gnarls which will open doors for you so you can proceed. The ruin is big and complex so follow your quest marker to some pools of water accompanied by a priest of order and two very large ones with preists of order. Make sure to take the Shards of Order from their bodies, as they can be used to open the Root doors. While in the pools, they will heal you back to full health should you need it. You need to shut down two large pools. When doing either, summon something to serve as a distraction. Kill the priests To begin with so when you stand in the pools they will heal you and finally take out the gnarls. The next pool will be accompanied by either syl or thadon. Kill them and return to haskill to end the quest. ******************** The End of Order Once you have soaked the staff a messenger will interrupt you with a message that Obelisk has opened in the Courtyard. The huge order crystals just sitting in the palace courtyard are dangerous. You will be asked if you want to lead the army naturally you will say yes of corse. Head out Obelisk on the left Will be active. This is where the Hearts of Order will come in handy. The knights will be destracted with your Men so your task is to run around placing the hearts into the obelisk. Once it is destroyed another will appear So repeat the process on that as well. Once the second obelisk has been defeated a blue light will kill all of your allies, great. Jyggylag will appear And will try and kill you. He is a master of blade so don’t bother trying to block it wont work, avoid things That come flying at you and just run around slashing him until he is dead. Once he is defeated you will be Granted the power of Sheogorath. Quest line complete! Well done! ******************** Thanks to ... Thanks for reading my guide and hope it helped.
