It was fixed, along with a few minor edits. ****************************************************************************** * Stage 2: Intro * ****************************************************************************** Hey Guys, welcome to my next guide in my series of works. As you can tell from my user name, my name is Gamer364. This guide is designed to help all players playing this game unlock all the achievements/trophies. This game is a sequel to the PC game American Mcgee's Alice, which you can download from the maketplace right now. This game was fairly new at the time of writing this, and it had no achievement guide, so I figured why not make one. I know you guys probably don't like long Intros, so I'll get on with the guide already. Warring: This guide can and will contain spoillers. I will do my best to not spoill stuff from the game, but sometimes it just can not be helped, so read at your own risk. ****************************************************************************** | Stage 3: Achievement Overview | ****************************************************************************** Achievement difficulty (on a scale of 1 through 5, 5 being the hardest): 3 Number of Achievements: 50 Number of Trophies: 51 Least amount of playthroughs to get all Achievements/Trophies Madness Returns: 1 (2 Suggested) American Megee's Alice: 1 Number of Missable Achievements/Trophies: 0 (you can replay levels through Chapter Select) Details: As mentioned in the intro, this game is a sequel to the PC game American Mcgee's Alice. Also, this game seems kind of easy to get 100% on. However, this game requires you to playthrough American Mcgee's Alice for a 100% completion. Unfortunately, it is not inclued in the disc, so will have to download it. Dang it, if Spicy Horse wanted us to beat that game, then why not inclued it with the disc, to make more money or something. Anyway, if you happend to buy your game new, then you will get a code that alows you to download this at no extra cost to you. Otherwise, it'll cost you an extra 800 Mircosoft Points (or $9.99 for PS3 players or $10 to PC players) to download this from the Marketplace. If you don't buy the DLC game, or if it no longer becomes available, the most gamepoints you will have is 900G on the Xbox and the most trophies you will have is 44. Otherwise, This game does have glitchy achievements/trophies, but one of them was gitchy right out of the box. If you downloaded the Weapons of Madness and Dresses DLC pack, some achievements/tropies may glitch up on you. I'm not sure which ones nor can I confirm this, but if you haven't download them already, then don't do it, the game is still easy enough to beat without the DLC pack anyway. Even without the DLC pack downloaded, Neighslayer is still glitchy. More details on that achievement/trophy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - Stage 4: The Game's Achievements/Trophies and How to unlock them - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Alice: Madness Returns Achievements/Trophies If you are having trouble with the game, refer to this guide. This guide was writen by DomZ Ninja. http://www.gamefaqs.com/xbox360/958269-alice-madness-returns/faqs/62616 Also, this game does have collectables in it, so refer to the collectables guide below and play on easy so it's easier to get them. The guide belongs to II OE II of Xbox360achievements.org. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=315208 1. No Happy Returns Description: Return to Wonderland Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Story-related, so it can't be missed. You get this when you talk to Nurse Witless and find yourself in Wonderland. 2. Snicker-snack! Description: Acquire the Vorpal Blade Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll get this as you go through the game, so don't worry about not getting this. You'll get it in chapter 1. 3. Ground Pork Description: Acquire the Pepper Grinder Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll also get this as you go through the game, so don't worry about not getting this either. You'll get it in chapter 1. 4. Grind 'em All! Description: Kill 5 Bolterflies in a row with the Pepper Grinder Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You can get this in chapter 1. All you need to do is to use your Pepper Grinder to kill 5 Bolterflies and that's it. There's a spot after you get the Pepper Grinder where infinte Bolterfiles are at. If you don't destory the hives the Bolterflies spawn from, you can just keep killing them until you get this. You can do this in the same time as Calm in the Face of Death if your on your last rose. 5. Strike a Deal Description: Upgrade a Weapon Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll get a chance to do this when you get to the Vale of Tears Rail Station in chapter 1. Kill all the foes there, and a message will pop up telling to upgrade a weapon. Spend teeth (experience I guess) on a weapon and it'll unlock. 6. End of Innocence Description: Complete Vale of Tears Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Story-related, so it can't be missed. You get this when you call and ride on the trolley and crash into the Hatter's Gate. 7. Nothing Like the Smell of Bacon Description: Pepper All Snouts in a Chapter Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to Seasoned Campaigner for details. You can do this in Chapter 1 the earliest, but Chapter 5 has the fewest Snouts in the game. Refer to Seasoned Campaigner for the number of Snouts between all 6 chapters. 8. Hatter's Demise Description: Complete Wonderland Chapter 1 Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Story-related, so it can't be missed. You get this when you witness the demise of Hatter and beat the chapter. 9. The Beginning of the End Description: Complete Chapter 1 on Nightmare Difficulty Gamerscore: 20 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to Hatter's Demise, but make sure that you are playing on Nightmare when you beat the chapter. See Madness Prevails for a way to beat the chapter without actually playing through the chapter. 10. Calm In the Face of Death Description: While on your last Rose, kill 5 Enemies without activating Hysteria Gamerscore: 30 Trophy Color: Sliver Guide: You can get this in chapter 1 the eariliest, but I would suggest an easier difficulty like easy so you don't suffer as much damage. You can do this even before you learn about Hysteria. To activate Hysteria, you need to be on your last Rose and click LS (Left Ctrl Stick) on the Xbox or L3 on the PS3. For this achievement/trophy, don't activate Hysteria and kill 5 foes. If you go for this at the location I told you about Grind 'em Up!, you'll get that achievement/trophy as well. Alternative: If you wait until you actually learn about Hysteria, you'll automatically be down to your last rose, so you can do it then. However, I would suggest using the Pepper Grinder if you want do get it this way so you don't get a rose by mistake. 11. Venting Frustration Description: Spend 7 minutes on steam vents Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: The time spent on the vents are collected and will unlock once 7 minutes has been collected. If you are willing to wait, or if you don't have this when you have most of the achievements/trophies, you can hang out where you come across your first vent to grind the time off. 12. Dress-Ups Description: Equip a Different Domain Dress Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: If you went against my advice and download the DLC pack, you can get this right at the starting gate. Also, if you beat chapter 1, you can do it then. Either way, in the main menu, Press X (or [] for PS3 players) and change Alice's dress then press B/() to back out. It should pop right there and then. 13. Strange Hobby Description: Acquire the Hobby Horse Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll get this as you go through the game, so don't worry about not getting this. You'll get it in chapter 2. 14. Weapon Schizo Description: Hobby Horse to Vorpal Blade to Hobby Horse Combo Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You can do this after getting Strange Hobby. For this one, you need to need to hit YXY (or /\[]/\ on PS3) combo for this to pop. It doesn't even have to hit, so you can do it no foes sitting right in front of you. If you don't want to get hurt trying to do this, you can do this in front of a picnic basket or in thin air. 15. Neighslayer Description: Hit 4 enemies with a single Hobby Horse ground smash Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Unlike Weapon Schizo, this one has to hit. You need to hit 4 enemies with a Hobby Horse ground smash at once. The combo for this is Yx3 (or /\x3 for PS3 players). The first two hits doesn't have to hit, but the third one does. Note: This one seems to glitch up for some players. If an enemy is killed by the attack, the game seems to not inclued it into the mix and not give you the achievement/trophy. Try having more than 4 enemies, in case you happend to kill one. Otherwise, this one seems to be real sensitive about how many foes are in range when the ground smash happends, or otherwise random. 16. Ship of Fools Description: Complete HMS Gryphon without taking Damage Gamerscore: 20 Trophy Color: Silver Guide: Sometime during chapter 2, you'll be controling the HMS Gryphon and playing a mini-game. During this mini game you need to destroy sharks, cannon crabs, and dodge underwater mines. Reach the end without taking any damage to unlock the achievement/trophy. If you get hit either restart the checkpoint, or reload the checkpoint "HMS Gryphon" after completing the chapter. The Left Crtl stick moves the ship, A/X to shoot and B/() to drop bombs. Here's a video below of how it's done, in case you run into trouble. The video belongs to lordskorrkeeper1 of Youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1nhk1glMCA 17. Cold Arms, Cold Heart Description: Defeat the Drowned Sailor without taking any damage Gamerscore: 30 Trophy Color: Silver Guide: You can do this when you first come across a Drowned Sailor in chapter two. While he is burrowing in the ground, place a bomb down for him to attack. While he is resting get in close and attack him. Repeat this process until he is dead and you will unlock the achievement/trophy. Note: Any Drowned Sailors found later on in the game will work for this, just make sure you don't get hit. 18. Shooting the Moon Description: Collect 4 Jars of Rose Paint Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You can do this in Chapter 2 the eariliest. Refer to the collectables guide for their locations. 19. Grim Folly Description: Complete Wonderland Chapter 2 Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Story-related, so it can't be missed. You get this when you escape the graveyard and beat the chapter. 20. No Quarter! No Mercy! Description: Defeat 100 Ruin Enemies Gamerscore: 20 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You get this as you go through the game, so don't worry about not getting this. 21. Beware the Lagomorph Description: Kill 30 enemies with the Clockwork Bomb Gamerscore: 20 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You can do this in Chapter one the eariliest, though I got it in Chapter two. In chapter one, while exploring through Hatter's Gate you will find the Clockwork Bomb. It acts as either a timed explosive or remote. Deploy the bomb with B/() and press B/() again to detonate. Kill 30 enemies with the explosion to unlock the achievement/trophy. 22. Death by Darjeeling Description: Acquire the Teapot Cannon Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll get this as you go through the game, so don't worry about not getting this. You'll get it in chapter 3. 23. Just Peachy Description: Collect all the Peaches in the Scroll of Destiny Gamerscore: 20 Trophy Color: Sliver Guide: Refer to the collectables guide for the locations of these peaches. This is done in chapter 3. There are 3 different Scroll of Destiny sections. The first two has 5 peaches and the last one contains 4. There seems to be conflicting info about how this is unlocked. One guide says that you need to get all 14 of the peaches between the 3 Scroll of Destiny sections, and the other says you only need to collect the 4 that's in the last section. Just to be safe, assume that you need to collect all 14 peaches. 24. Eyes on the Size Description: Find the hidden Shrink Sense Decal Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You do this before beating chapter 3. At the end of this chapter, you'll come across Caterpillar's temple. Don't enter it just yet. Instead, go to the statue on the left, look behind it and use your Shrink Sense. You should see a logo of the company who made this game if you did it right. 25. When Worlds Collide Description: Complete Wonderland Chapter 3 Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Story-related, so it can't be missed. You get this when you enter Caterpillar's temple and beat the chapter. 26. Grandmaster Description: Complete a Chess Puzzle without failing Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Silver Guide: There are four chess puzzles to do during chapter 4 (I said three last time, but Puzzle 1 is split into 2 parts, though, I guess you could still say that there are three chess puzzles). Simply complete one of them without failing to unlock the achievement. During the chess puzzles you need to move your white pawn piece while a red pawn piece mimics your movements. Get the pieces to the diamonds to complete the puzzle. It is most easily unlocked during the first puzzle. Here are the solutions for all the Chess Puzzles. Puzzle 1 Part 1 Solution: left x2, up x3, right Puzzle 1 Part 2 Solution: up x3, left Puzzle 2 Solution: up, left, right, up x3, left x2, up, right Puzzle 3 Solution: up, left, right, up x2, left, right, up x2, left 27. 52 Pick-Up Description: Defeat 52 Card Guards Gamerscore: 20 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: You'll start running into these guys in chapter 4. Smack these guys around, and use your Hobby Horse to smash them when they hit the ground. Kill 52 Card Guards this way to unlock this. I'm not sure if this can even be missed to tell the honest truth. 28. The Harder They Fall Description: Complete Wonderland Chapter 4 Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Story-related, so it can't be missed. You get this when you meet the Red Queen and beat the chapter. 29. More than a Mouthful Description: Fully upgrade a weapon Gamerscore: 20 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to Armed to the Teeth for details. 30. Tea Party Description: Destroy 10 Ruin Barriers Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Ruin barriers look like black goop with a doll mask that block your travel. Simply destroy 10 to unlock the achievement/trophy. It's unlikely that you will get this until late in the game, like I would say chapter 4 at the eariliest. 31. Brollyant Description: Kill 10 Bitch Babies with Deflection Gamerscore: 20 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Sorry for the cuss word in the description, but that's what it says word for word. Anyway, these foes only appear after a puzzle in chapter 5. You need to damage them enough so they start throwing acid balls at you. Use Deflection to hit the acid ball right back at them, killing them on contact. Kill 10 of them this way to unlock this. Note: The Umbrella (your Deflection attack) needs to be spinning in order to throw the acid balls right back at them. Also, in order to use the Umbrella, you need to press LT+A (or L2+X in the PS3 version) and make sure it's spinning to deflect an attack (doesn't work all the time and with all attacks). 32. That's Using Your Head Description: Complete Off With Her Head Part 2 in under 6 minutes Gamerscore: 20 Trophy Color: Silver Guide: You will do a mini-game for this one. There are 3 sections to pass with this mini-game, so you will need to do this in under 2 minutes for each. That doesn't leave you too much room for error. Here's a video below showing you how it's done, if you are having trouble (which you most likely will). The video was made by lordskorrkeeper1 of youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GG-V1ESWa0&feature=player_detailpage Note: You can try this again through chapter select if you fail the first time. I'm not sure if you can get away with restarting from the last checkpoint once you finish the mini-game. Maybe in the middle of the mini-game, but that's it. 33. Seasoned Campaigner Description: Pepper All Snouts in the Game Gamerscore: 30 Trophy Color: Silver Guide: Refer to the collectables guide for the locations of all of the Snouts. Unlike Nothing like the Smell of Bacon, you need to Pepper all of the game's Snouts not just the Snouts in the chapter. Here are the number of Snouts in each chapter: Chapter 1 = 14 snouts Chapter 2 = 15 snouts Chapter 3 = 11 snouts Chapter 4 = 11 snouts Chapter 5 = 8 snouts Chapter 6 = 0 snouts (mainly a boss battle, the final one at that) Total = 59 snouts 34. Painting the Town Red Description: Complete all Radula Rooms Gamerscore: 30 Trophy Color: Sliver Guide: Refer to the collectables guide for the locations of all of the Radula Rooms. There are 16 rooms between chapters 2 and 5, and each of those 4 chapters contains 4 rooms in it. One room will make you answer a riddle, another two rooms will have enemies in it. One room wants you to, and I quote "Kill or be Killed", and the other just wants you to survive. In the last room will make you do a mini-game. What mini-game it is depends on the chapter your in. Chapter 2 = HMS Gryphon type mini-game Chapter 3 = Scoll of Destiny mini-game Chapter 4 = The Giant Alice mini-game Chapter 5 = Doll Head rolling mini-game Once you get your 16th jar of rose paint, it'll unlock. 35. Family Memories fond and faded Description: Find all Liddell Memories Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: There are 34 Liddell Memories through out the game. Refer to the collectables guide for the locations of all of them. Here are the number of Liddell Memories to be found in each chapter. Chapter 1 = 13 Memories Chapter 2 = 3 Memories Chapter 3 = 7 Memories Chapter 4 = 7 Memories Chapter 5 = 4 Memories I did not inclued the final chapter on purpose because as mentioned earilier, the chapter's mainly a boss battle. There are no Memories to be found there anyway. Refer to Everything Fit to Remember for what these Memories look like. 36. Everything Fit to Remember Description: Find all Memories Gamerscore: 30 Trophy Color: Silver Guide: There are a total of 94 Memories to find, including the 34 mentioned in Family Memories fond and faded. Refer to the collectables guide for the location of all of them. Here are types of memories to find and what each one looks like. Bumby = Glasses Liddell = House Pris = Potion Dr. Wilson = Needle (it looked like something else to me though) Nanny = Feather (looked more like a knife if you ask me) Radcliffe = Ink Pen (looked more like a bottle to me though) 37. Armed to the Teeth Description: Fully upgrade all weapons Gamerscore: 30 Trophy Color: Silver Guide: For this one, you need to fully upgrade all of Alices tools of Destrution. To upgrade a weapon, you need to have enough teeth. They can be found through killing your foes, smashing breakable objects, etc. Here's the list of all of those weapons, and how much teeth they require for a rank up. Vorpal Blade Rank II: 150 Rank III: 675 Rank IV: 800 Pepper Grinder Rank II: 475 Rank III: 575 Rank IV: 700 Hobby Horse Rank II: 500 Rank III: 625 Rank IV: 775 Teapot Cannon Rank II: 525 Rank III: 600 Rank IV: 725 38. The End of Daze Description: Complete Wonderland Chapter 5 Gamerscore: 10 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Story-related, so it can't be missed. You get this when you confront the Dollmaker and beat the chapter. 39. Pulling Strings Description: Defeat the Dollmaker without taking damage Gamerscore: 30 Trophy Color: Silver Guide: There is nothing to do in chapter 6 aside from watching cut-scenes and getting to the back of the Infernal Train to fight the Dollmaker. If you have the Level Headed achievement/trophy, and went against my advice and purchased the Weapons and Dresses DLC, you may use the Fleshmaiden Dress to gain unlimited Hysteria uses, making this really easy. This boss has 3 phases: Phase 1: If you get hit during this phase, simply restart the checkpoint and try again. His left hand will come out, it will perform slamming attacks. Once it has done enough, it will rest on the ground and expose the ruin. Charge in and attack. After enough time the hand will recover and Insidious Ruin will start to spawn 2 at a time. Ignore them unless you have to. His hand will chase you around the area. SPAM DODGE TO MAKE LARGE CIRCLES AROUND THE AREA! It will get tired eventually and rest. Charge in and attack it again. Once enough damage is dealt, the ruin will disappear and the hand will go away. Checkpoint 1: If you made it to this checkpoint without damage you can restart it if you get hit in the next phase. Phase 2: His right hand will come out now. Dodge its open palmed smashing attacks and swatting attacks until it gets tired and rests. Charge in and introduce it to your knife. After some time it will recover and some more Insidious Ruin will spawn. Again, ignore them unless you have to. The hand will chase you again. SPAM DODGE TO MAKE LARGE CIRCLES AROUND THE AREA! It will get tired and rest again. Move in and take it out. If you deal enough damage to it now, you will not have to deal with the next attacks. If you haven't dealt enough damage, it will recover and summon Menacing Ruin. Dodge the attacks until it needs to rest and finish it off. Checkpoint 2: If you made it to this checkpoint without damage you can restart it if you get hit in the next phase. Phase 3: Both hands will appear now. They will both try and grab you. Dodge both the hands and then they will grab onto the stone pillars. The Dollmaker will now spit out his tongue for you to attack. After getting some hits in, he will spawn Floating Ruins. Do your best to dodge all of the attacks from the ruins and the hands until his tongue comes back out. Use ranged attacks on it until defeated. Here's a video below if you didn't feel like reading all that, it was so much to take in at once, or if your having a tough time with this. The video belongs to lordskorrkeeper1 of youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXD2Rv2lVTM&feature=player_detailpage 40. Level-Headed Description: Finish the game using Hysteria only once Gamerscore: 50 Trophy Color: Gold Guide: This can be a bit tricky, because if you getting nailled left and right, you'll be down to your last rose constantly. This shouldn't be too much of a problem (if at all) if your playing on easy or normal (perferably easy). Anyway, you don't even have to use Hysteria even one time. You are allowed to use Hysteria one time before you forfit the achievement/trophy for not using Hysteria, so try not to get hurt too much. If you find you can't go through the game without using Hysteria more than once, you can do this on your Nightmare playthrough. See Madness Prevails for an Alternative Method. 41. The Strong Survive Description: Complete the Game on Easy Difficulty Gamerscore: 25 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to Madness Prevails for details. Note: You can use this or Normal difficulty for your collection run. 42. The Imaginative Endure Description: Complete the Game on Normal Difficulty Gamerscore: 50 Trophy Color: Bronze Guide: Refer to Madness Prevails for details. Note: You can use this or Easy difficulty for your collection run. 43. The Persistent Flourish Description: Complete the Game on Hard Difficulty Gamerscore: 75 Trophy Color: Silver Guide: Refer to Madness Prevails for details. 44. Madness Prevails Description: Complete the Game on Nightmare Difficulty Gamerscore: 80 Trophy Color: Gold Guide: All the Difficulty achievements/trophies are stackable, so you can beat this in one playthrough, though I wouldn't suggest it. Nightmare difficulty is fairly difficult if you don't use New Game+ to keep your upgraded gear. Enemies will have tons of health and deal massive amounts of damage per hit so be extremely careful while fighting. Complete all 6 chapters from start to finish on nightmare difficulty to unlock this achievement. Alternative Method: I'm not 100% sure if this a glitch or not, but there is a way to beat the game on Nightmare, without actually playing the game on Nightmare. 1. Start a New Game+ 2. After the first save point (The Clock on the bottom right side is gone), quit out to the main menu. 3. Go to chapter select and pick the last section of that chapter. 4. Beat it and let it roll you over to the next chapter. 5. Let it save, and then quit to the main menu. (The Beginning of the End should pop here). 6. Repeat 2-5 for the next 5 chapters. 7. In chapter 6, fight the last boss (optional if you have the Pulling Strings achievement/trophy or otherwise) 8. Play the last sub chapter in that chapter and walk to the end. The credits will pop and this achievement/trophy along with any other difficulty achievements/trophies you didn't get. This will also pop Level-Headed, if you didn't use Hysteria more than once and you haven't got it in your first playthrough. 45. Platinum For All Other Trophies Description: Platinum For All Other Trophies Gamerscore: N/A Trophy Color: Platinum Guide: This is for PS3 players only. You get this when you get all the trophies in the DLC Arcade game American Mcgee's Alice and all the trophies in Alice: Madness Returns. American Mcgee's Alice Achievements/Trophies If you are having trouble passing any of these areas/levels, here's a guide to this game. This guide was written by Lsnake. http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/913791-american-mcgees-alice/faqs/36858 Note: Assumes that you are playing the PC version. Also, difficulty does not matter for any of these achievements/trophies, so feel free to set it to Easy if you wish, or Nightmare if you want a challenge. 46. I have a Spam safeguard with yahoo, and it'll tell me if I have spam or not with Letter B. Also, if I think your trying sending me spam on Xbox Live, don't think I won't wirte a complant about you, and/or tell Microsoft on you. With letter C, I also take offence, because I get name called in school. Letter D, If your sending me an E-mail, have spell check avaiable to you and your not sure of your spelling, then why not use it? Letter E, Unless I messed up that badly, there's really no reason for that anyway. All of these things can and will make me think your a bad person, when in reality your probably not. All in all, just don't do it. Follow these rules, and if you add-on and/or correct something, I'll give you credit for it. Note: Don't get discouraged if I don't answer you right away. Sometimes, I might be on the Computer and sometimes I'll be on Xbox Live. Your best bet is to send both an E-mail and an Xbox Live message. That way if I don't get one of your messages, I'll still be able to get the other message. Even then, I might still not get your message right away. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Stage 6: Legal Junk, Special Thanks and Other Guides I've Done | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Legal Junk This guide is copyrighted and writen by me.
