Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games Table of Contents Introduction Updates Characters Olympic Events Dream Events London Party Sticker List Bonus Mode Challenges Records Conclusion INTRODUCTION Hello, my name is Fire Mario 12 and this is my FAQ on Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. Some of you may recognize my name from my FAQ on Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. If there is anything that you need to contact me for email me at awkerwin@gmail.com.Therefore this is my 2nd FAQ. The new Olympic games are not that much different than before with only 11 new Olympic events: Canoeing, Horseback Riding, Rhythmic Ribbon, Discus Throw, Uneven Bars, Syncronized Swimming, Badminton, Football(Soccer), Beach Volleyball,a new version of Shooting, and Cycling. There are 10 brand new Dream events too. If only this game had a festival or circuit mode then it would be perfect. I would just like to make clear that I am a Mario fan so my Sonic character biographies are not very good because I have never played an only Sonic game before. UPDATES Not too much was done but I wanted to submit some records and corrections people have sent me via email. The people are listed in the Conclusion section and the mistakes and new records are changed. CHARACTERS All the characters are the same besides stats and are in 4 different groups, Power, All Around, Speed, and Skill Stats are not exact but close. Each character has 5 stats: Acceleration, Skill, Stamina, Max Speed, and Power Acceleration affects how long it takes for the character to get to top speed. If someone knows what skill does please email me. Stamina affects how long you can be leader in cycling and in badmitton which affects how long it takes until you start sweating. Max Speed affects how fast your max speed is. Power affects the power of your throws in the throwing events. I will explain special abilities in the events that have them in the Event part of the FAQ. TEAM MARIO MARIO: ALL AROUND The world's best plumber is here once again to compete in the 2012 Olympics. Mario has extremely good jumping abilities and can turn into many forms like Fire Mario where he can throw fireballs and Boo Mario where he can pass through solid walls like a boo. Mario is the best at many things: golfing, playing baseball, playing soccer, partying, saving princesses and many more things. Because of that he is well rounded in stats which means he is an all purpose player. Stats: Acceleration-7 Skill-7 Stamina-7 Max Speed-7 Power-7 LUIGI: ALL AROUND Luigi is the secondary overshadowed brother of Mario. Everyone thinks he is just a taller, younger Mario but he has become very unique. In other games he uses his Poltergeist 3000 which is a vacuum that sucks up ghosts which Mario doesn't use and believe or not but in many games Luigi can jump higher than Mario. He is well rounded in stats and is a well rounded player. Stats: Acceleration-6 Skill-8 Stamina-7 Max Speed-8 Power-7 PEACH: SKILL Peach is the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom. She has been kidnapped many, many, many times but has always been saved by her special one Mario. You would think that she would learn from it and set up her castle's defenses better but some people never learn. She is a very kind, generous woman with a big heart. She is very skilled. Stats: Acceleration-8 Skill-10 Stamina-8 Max Speed-6 Power-4 DAISY: SPEED Daisy is the princess of Sarsaland. She has been in only 1 nonsport Mario game and really is just a partner for Peach. They are sisters. Coincidently she is in love with Luigi, Mario's brother. She is a tomboy and is outgoing and friendly. Somehow she got faster than Peach to become a speed character. She is obviously fast and is good for running events. Stats: Acceleration-9 Skill-6 Stamina-6 Max Speed-8 Power-6 YOSHI: SPEED Yoshi is a resident of Yoshi Island. He is a kind, friendly dinosaur who has helped Mario and Luigi in many adventures. He even helped when the bros were babies and Baby Mario was dropped in Yoshi Island when Baby Luigi was kidnapped. He has a very long and sticky tongue that he can use to eat anything. He can run at very high speeds and is good at running events Stats: Acceleration-10 Skill-6 Stamina-6 Max Speed-8 Power-5 WARIO:POWER Wario is a very greedy man who loves garlic. He is enemies with Mario for some reason that I do not know. Wario loves money and will do literally anything like go on huge adventures just for the coins. He also runs his own company WarioWare which makes video games. Wario even has his own games on Wii and DS.He eats lots of garlic which gives him a lot of stamina. He also is strong making him good for throwing events. Stats: Acceleration-4 Skill-6 Stamina-10 Max Speed-6 Power-8 WALUIGI:SKILL Waluigi is a very sneaky man who likes trouble. He is always hanging around with Wario because 2 is better than 1 when it comes to causing trouble. He likes to play with bob-ombs, and bullet bills to cause mischief. He is enemies with Luigi for some some reason that I do not know. Waluigi is very tall and lanky which gives him good reach in sports like badmitton. Waluigi is very skilled. Stats: Acceleration-7 Skill-10 Stamina-7 Max Speed-6 Power-6 BOWSER:POWER Bowser is the oldest and most evil villian in Mario's history. He has done almost nothing but cause trouble for the citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom by stealing Princess Peach. He has a variety of evil minions: hammer bros, koopas, goombas, cheep-cheeps, bob-ombs, porcupuffers and many more. He is not all bad though because on rare occasions he helps Mario and the gang fight another evil villian. Bowser is very strong and is my personal favorite Mario character and is good for throwing events. Stats: Acceleration-5 Skill-4 Stamina-9 Max Speed-7 Power-10 BOWSER JR: ALL AROUND BowserJr. is the evil tyrant's most famous son. He is Bowser's eighth son (the others being the Koopalings) and has been in most Mario games since his debut in Super Mario Sunshine when Bowser convinced him Peach was his mom and Bowser told him to steal his mom back. Now Bowser Jr. likes causing trouble to Mario when he is on his way to save Peach. Bowser Jr uses mostly giant robots to fight Mario. He is well rounded in stats and is good at anything. Stats: Acceleration-7 Skill-5 Stamina-6 Max Speed-7 Power-8 DONKEY KONG: POWER Donkey Kong is a gorilla who lives in the jungle with his ape friends. He has a very bad relationship with the neighbors the Kremlings who are evil alligators who have taken his banana stash and other valuable things countless times. Recently a group of musical tikis came and took the banana stash so he and Diddy Kong his nephew went on an adventure to get it back. Diddy Kong is smaller and more agile than Donkey Kong while Donkey Kong is bigger and more powerful than Diddy Kong. He is very strong and is good at throwing events. Stats: Acceleration-6 Skill-4 Stamina-8 Max Speed-8 Power-10 MISCELLANEOUS MII:ALL AROUND Your own personal character. You can create miis to be anyone you want like a friend, you, or some random funny looking person. You can dress up your miis in many different costumes. All miis are all around for some reason even if they are wearing a costume of another kind of player for example a power character. They will have stats for a power character but still have an all around special. Miis are good for any event. TEAM SONIC SONIC:SPEED Sonic is the fastest thing in the world and is here to compete in the 2012 Olympics. He is a blue hedgehog. He can roll up in a ball and roll at extreme speeds. He collects rings and tries to collect the 7 chaos emeralds so he can become an unstoppable ball of speed and fury Super Sonic. He always beats Dr. Eggman over and over again. He cares for others but is not very serious and jokes around often. He is very, very, very fast so he is good at events that deal with running speed. Stats: Acceleration-9 Skill-5 Stamina-5 Max Speed-10 Power-6 TAILS: SKILL Tails is the fastest thing in the world's sidekick. He looks like a yellow fox. Tails is a mechanical genius and can build and fix many electronic devices. He can fly with his 2 tails by spinning them together to create a propeller. He is pretty fast just like Sonic. He is shy and not as outgoing but he still helps Sonic whenever he can. Tails is very skilled. Stats: Acceleration-8 Skill-9 Stamina-7 Max Speed-6 Power-4 KNUCKLES:POWER Knuckles is Sonic's power friend. Knuckles is a red echidna with very big hands with spikes on them. He is cocky and is too confident of his power. He runs very fast like Tails and Sonic and sometimes helps them in their adventures to fight Dr. Eggman. His fists with spikes on them can supposedly can break through rock and anything else. His fists give him strength so he is very strong and is good at events that involve throwing. Stats: Acceleration-6 Skill-4 Stamina-8 Max Speed-7 Power-9 AMY: ALL AROUND Amy is the self-called girlfriend of Sonic. Amy is a pretty pink hedgehog. She is an outgoing and friendly girl who has a very good attitude. She uses that attitude to cheer people up and brings people out of bad moods. She apparently uses a piko-piko hammer and is extremely dangerous with it. She also is good at predicting the future with tator cards. She is well rounded with stats and is good for any event. Stats: Acceleration-8 Skill-8 Stamina-6 Max Speed-8 Power-6 BLAZE:ALL AROUND Blaze is a cat who is the guardian of the Sol Emeralds. She is a purple cat who is a princess of another dimension that is not Sonic's dimension. She is has a good heart and tries to stop evil whenever she can. Her emotions apparently are concealed in an imaginary bubble around her. She is well rounded in stats so she is good for any event. Stats: Acceleration-8 Skill-7 Stamina-7 Max Speed-8 Power-6 DR. EGGMAN:SKILL Dr. Eggman is the most evil villian of the Sonic universe. He is very smart and is great at creating robots and evil machines and gadgets which he uses to fight Sonic. He is trying to the Sonic universe become Eggmanland but Sonic always has to beat him (which is sad because I wouldn't mind seeing Eggmanland). Dr. Eggman is the tallest character in the game and is very skilled. Stats: Acceleration-7 Skill-10 Stamina-7 Max Speed-6 Power-6 SHADOW:SPEED Shadow is the ultimate life form created by Dr. Eggman's great grandfather. He has almost the exact same stats as Sonic because he was created to destroy Sonic. He always says he is the ultimate or perfect because he was built to be that way. He looks identical to Sonic but to make him look more evil, he was made black and red while Sonic is mainly blue. He is one of the fastest characters in the game so he is good at running events. Stats: Acceleration-9 Skill-6 Stamina-5 Max Speed-9 Power-6 METAL SONIC:SPEED Metal Sonic is the robot rival of Sonic created by Dr. Eggman himself (isn't it strange that both of he and his great grandfather thought of making a Sonic clone but they both are completely different). Metal Sonic almost has the exact same stats as Sonic because he was constructed that way. He cannot talk unlike Shadow but Metal Sonic has a rocket booster on his back to make him go faster than Shadow ever could (I think). He is one of the fastest characters in the game and is my personal favorite Sonic character and is good at running events. Stats: Acceleration-9 Skill-4 Stamina-7 Max Speed-10 Power-6 VECTOR: POWER Vector is the head of the Chaotix Detective agency. He is a very good detective apparently. He must be very greedy or he wouldnt always wear the same gold chains over his neck for every Olympic games so far. He must also be obsesses with music because he always has headphones and all of his specials have music notes flying around them. He is very strong and is good at throwing events. Stats: Acceleration-5 Skill-5 Stamina-9 Max Speed-7 Power-9 SILVER: SKILL Silver is a white hedgehog who has come from the future to come save the world from destruction. He has psycic abilities like being albe to fly and being anle to levitate objects in the air. I am kind of dissapointed though because Silver would be way cooler if he levitated the javelin and throw it instead of holding and throwing. That wouldn't be very fair but it still would be very cool. Silver is a very skilled character. Stats: Acceleration-8 Skill-9 Stamina-8 Max Speed-6 Power-6 OLYMPIC EVENTS There are 21 different events in this version of the Olympics. Most of them are new but there are a lot of old ones but they are all played differently than before. At least there is no Pole Vault or Archery (I hated those ones). I will list the controls for the events and any tips I have for them. All (I think) of the instructions are for recommended control type. 100m Controls: shake wii remote up and down to run and press B at the finish line to go in "perfect sprinting form" Tips: start holding down B after ready appears, don't rush it. Some of the computer might start earlier but don't do that. If you do it right and swing down when go appears you will get a much better boost than them. The "perfect sprinting form" is useless but you need to do it to get the challenge completed. Otherwise just shake the remote as fast as you can and press A to do your special action to get to the finish line faster. 110m HURDLES Controls: shake remote up and down to run, press B to jump Tips: same as 100m for the startup. Press B to jump just as you touch the yellow line before the hurdle to get a "perfect" and give you a speed boost. Use your special action by pressing A to skip some of the hurdle-jumping. 4x100m RELAY Controls: shake remote up and down to run, swing remote down to pass the baton to the next player. Tips: same as 100m for the startup. What you want to do is swing the remote down to pass the baton just as the blue circle, that appears when you are close to the next player, disappears. Then you will get a "perfect" and get a speed boost. Use your special action by pressing A when you can see the next player because if you timed it right you will be running at the special action speed because the speed locks which will make your time shorter. LONG JUMP Controls: shake remote to the side to clap, shake remote up and down to run, press B to jump Tips: To get a good startup in this event you have to get appeal from the crowd. To do this you have to swing the remote to the left as the demo wii remote on the screen touches the left edge of the circle (you will understand when you see it). After that you run as fast as you can to make your jump go farther with the extra speed. You want to press B right when your character's foot is about to touch the green line. It takes practice and timing but if you do that perfectly your character will do his or her special action in the air resulting in a very good jump called a special jump. HAMMER THROW Controls: swing remote up to begin, spin the remote to spin the hammer, and press B to throw the hammer Tips:For this event there is no startup boost. All you do is swing the remote up to begin. To effectively throw throw the hammer you need speed in the throw so spin the remote in very small circles as fast as possible. Then when you are ready to throw your character will go in slow motion and you want to press B right when the blue circle touches the hammer. If you did it right you will get a "perfect" and you will see a picture of your character on the screen along with the hammer flying a far distance. When you see that shake the remote up and down as fast as you can and there will be red sparks infront of the hammer which improves the distance. Doing this is called a roar of triumph(for the challenge). DISCUS THROW Controls: swing remote right to begin, swing left three times in pattern to raise power?, tilt remote to match angle, swing to throw the discus Tips: For this event there is no startup boost just swing the remote right to begin. My controls might sound confusing but it isn't that hard. Next you swing the remote left when the blue circle disappears each time like in 4x100m relay for 3 times. Then quickly tilt the remote to match the angle and hold it there for as long as possible. Then swing the remote when the blue circle touches the frisbee like in hammer throw to throw the discus. JAVELIN THROW Controls: shake remote up and down to run, press B to set the angle, swing remote down to throw Tips: For this event there is no startup boost but you start off the event running. Then a little later you will have to press B to set the angle. You will know what the perfect angle is when the yellow arrow sparkles. Press B immediately and you will get a "perfect" rating. Then swing the remote down to throw once you touch the pink area because you will go forward when you throw the javelin and if you go past the line you will get a foul regardless of the javelin's distance. UNEVEN BARS Controls: shake both remote and nunchuck while holding Z+B to gain speed while spinning, release everything to jump from bar to bar, press Z+B to grab the bar Tips: the controls sound compilcated but they aren't. To start press Z+B to grab the bar. Every time you are at the top of the bar swing to increase your speed. Swing until the screen says "Max Speed" for the best results. Let go to jump either to the other bar or the same one. I think it is random which bar it is but I don't know for sure. At the end you will do a pretty cool spinning flip and will have to swing nunchuck and remote just as you land and raise both hands after to finish. TRAMPOLINE Controls: swing remote up to jump, shake the remote in different directions to perform tricks. Tips: To start you jump about 3 times to get to a good height to perform tricks. To jump high you want to swing the remote when you are at the deepest point of the trampoline like this -----v----- when you are at the bottom tip of the "V" you swing up to jump. Shake the remote when you are ascending to start performing tricks. After the first trick you want to swing the remote when the circle disappears to do the rest of the tricks. You can do a max of 5 if you get a "perfect" jump. RHYTHMIC RIBBON Controls: swing remote up/down , spin the remote, tilt to balance Tips: This event is very similar to figure skating from the winter olympics. To start swing the remote down. When you see a blue circle, wait until your character's feet are on the middle dot and then swing up or down (it doesn't matter). It is the same for the red circles and the star symbols. For star symbols it will make blue circles appear, all you do is swing when the blue circle disappears one by one like in discus throw. When it says on the screen to spin, spin the remote in small, fast circles. When it says balance the remote, tilt the remote to keep it in the green area for as long as possible. For the finale spin as fast as you can and pose after the 1 to finish the event. 100m FREESTYLE Controls: various forms of shaking the remote(explained below) Tips: There are 5 different swim techniques for this event. There is the crawl which is swinging the remote+nunchuck forward and back. There is the breaststroke which is swinging the remote+nunchuck sideways over and over. There is the butterfly which is swinging the remote+nunchuck up and down. The next one is unique to Vector and is swinging the remote+nunchuck together left and right. The last one is the dog paddle which is running from the old summer olympics: shaking the remote+nunchuck up and down one after the other. The game shows you what style your character uses before the race. The startup is the same as 100m. When you start go fast with your character's swim style but if the screen turns red you are going to fast. Try to go fast but not too fast. When you get to the otherside of the pool swing the remote down after the blue circle gets inside the pink circle. This takes practice but you will get the hang of it. You can use your special action by pressing A and there is also the stupid "perfect swim form" for this event too. SYNCRONIZED SWIMMING Controls: pose with the wii remote. Tips: This event is all about timing. Throughout the event there are lots of different hand poses such as pointing both hands up or one left and one right. You also will have to swing the remote down when the demo circle touches the left side of the bar (you will understand when you see it). The last thing you will have to do is shake the remote up and down as fast as possible to swim in patterns. At the very end will be a shake finish and you will jump in the air. You will have to do 1 last pose after you jump and you are done. P. S. I do not reccomend doing the 3rd song. It is extremely fast and the other ones seem easier. CANOEING Controls: swing remote down to row, shake remote at the end Tips: This is a very simple minigame. The startup is the same as 100m. All you do for this event is swing the remote down when the yellow circle disappears over and over. Near the ending it will be the final sprint which is where you shake the wii remote until the finish. That is it. EQUESTRIAN Controls: swing remote to increase speed, tilt remote to do turns, press 2 to jump. Tips: The startup for this event is the same as 100m except you hold down 1 instead of B. For this event you must jump obstacles while riding a horse on a dirt track. When you get near an obstacle press 2 to jump over it. I do not know the exact timing for when you should jump but you will learn with practice. There are many turns in this event so you will need to tilt the remote in the right direction to avoid losing time and possibly falling off the horse. Only snap the reins of the horse when the speed decreases from the max speed (no need to overwork the horse). At the very end you shake the wii remote up and down as fast as possible until the finish. You will get time penalties if you jump over the obstacles too early or too late so time your jumps well. BADMINTON-DOUBLES Controls swing remote to hit shuttlecock Tips: This event is a faster version of table tennis with 2 people on the teams instead of 1. There are a lot of different timing things to do in this event. If you are hitting the shuttlecock when it is on the right side of you, if you hit it early it will go right and if you hit is late it will go left. Vice versa for if the shuttlecock is on the left. If you or your opponents hit the shuttlecock very late it will soar into the air giving you or your opponents (depending on who hit the shuttlecock into the air) the oppurtunity to do a jump strike. Your character automatically jumps so all you do is swing to perform the jump strike. You can perform a special move by doing the same thing if the shuttlecock is glowing red. Power characters hit the shuttlecock very fast in a zig-zag pattern, all you have to do to counter is swing right when they hit it because by the time it comes to you, your racket should be in the perfect position to hit it. All around characters hit it straight into the air and straight down very quickly and all I can say on how to block it is swing when it is over your head because it is very hard to hit. Speed characters hit it in the air where it stops and then zooms at you, to counter look for when it glows and then swing because after it glows it will zoom at you. Skill characters hit it and then it vanishes, and a couple seconds later it will reappear, to counter swing when you see it appear and you should do fine. If your character moves around a lot they will lose stamina and will run slower. To take advantage of this do drop shots by pressing B and swinging and hard shots on one side to make the character lose stamina. He or she will make a mistake eventually which sets you up for jump and special strikes. The best team of characters for this is 1 power and 1 speed, because of the power's stamina and because of the speed's speed. BEACH VOLLEYBALL Controls: swing with nunchuck to throw the ball in the air and swing the remote to hit it (for the serve), move with nunchuck control stick, press A to receive a ball, swing remote to spike the ball, swing up to block Tips: This event is very similar to Badminton in that there are 2 teams of 2 who face off and the specials are the same. When the opponent spikes or serves the ball to your side of the court press A to hit it to your teammate. You can swing the remote to block instead which can really mess up your opponents if done right. You must be right in front of them to effectively block a spike. If you press A when the ball is not close to you, you will dive and hopefully hit up the ball to your teammate. You can only hit the ball twice on your side of the court and you cannot hit it to yourself. If you receive the balls instead of diving for them, the ball will gain energy making it more powerful and faster. There are 3 levels of charge: white (no charge), blue (one charge), and red (both charges). You will also gain energy from receiving a pass and spiking the ball. After you get enough energy you can perform a special move by pressing B when you spike. You can early spike the ball if you are fast because when you are the 2nd person hitting it you will if you are fast jump to pass it to your teammate. If you swing the remote before you touch the ball you will early spike it surprising your opponents (sometimes). The specials are the same but replace the shuttlecock with the ball and replace swing with dive. I would like to say though that the all around special is very easy to defend against. This requires some luck but the all around special goes straight and then down so if you block it when they are near the net, the ball will bounce off you and go flying far onto the opponent's side of the court which often will give you a point. The best team of characters for this event is 2 speed because you need to be fast to receive the ball. TABLE TENNIS Controls: swing the remote to hit the ball, swing remote up to serve A classic event that has been made better. This is a basically single player badminton. To serve you have to swing the remote up and then swing the remote to the side to hit it when it glows. You can do special kinds of swings if you swing the remote up or down when you are not serving. The down-swinging one is a very slow ball that curves and is very useful in a high paced game. The swinging up one is useless and I never use it. Every time you hit the ball a yellow circle will appear around your character showing you are getting energy. 10 hits gets you fully charged meaning you can use a special move by swinging while pressing B. I suggest you use the special when the ball is going very fast because it makes it much harder to hit. The specials are different than they are in volleyball and badminton. Power characters hit it onto your side of the table and it sits there taunting you until it pops out and bounces off the table. This is very hard to hit because you need amazing hand-eye coordination to hit it when you see it move and it is going very fast. All around characters hit the ball up and then down but it goes pretty slow and is very easy to hit. Speed characters hit a nice simple very fast shot so just hit it when it comes to you. Skill characters hit it and make it disappear and when it reappears the ball will bounce so just hit it. FOOTBALL (SOCCER) Controls: use nunchuck control stick to move, A to pass/intercept, B to shoot/slide tackle, Z to switch characters Tips: This is a 5 player event (4 characters and a goalie). The goalie is controlled by the computer. There are many possible strategies for this game and it is the most complex event in this game. To start off the buttons do different things depending on if you are on offense or defense. Pressing A on offense means to pass while pressing A on defense means to intercept the ball. Holding A down longer means an aerial pass while tapping A means a ground pass. Pressing B while on offense means to shoot while on defense means to slide tackle. Intercepting is a much better option than slide tackling because you will not get fouls and you will still steal the ball. If you slide tackle the character who has the ball and it hits the player not the ball you will get a foul and the other team will get a free kick. However slide tackling gives your character energy for special moves so use at your own risk. To gain energy you either have to shoot, block a shot (by standing in the way), or slide tackling and not getting a foul with it. Besides using specials having energy gives special boosts. By pressing C you will do a faster dribble. By slide tackling while charged with power your slide tackle will have a faster speed and better range and will not cause a foul but may take away your charged state so again use at your own risk. Shooting while charged will result in a faster stronger shot. A good way to score is by pressing A to pass to a teammate and pressing B right when the receiver gets the pass. This is called a "one timer" (from Mario Strikers Charged). It is very fast and affective and not that complicated to pull off. This is a far better way to use the special shot by passing to the charged person and then pressing B will result in an even faster and stronger shot than a normal charge shot. All special moves are the same besides color as far as I can tell. The best team for this event is 2 power and 2 speed so you can use the great power character's shooting ability and speed character's ability to dribble very fast to your advantage. SHOOTING Controls: press B to shoot, tilt remote to aim Tips: I don't really like this event but it is better than the old one so I am happy. To start aim at the center of the B on the screen and press B to determine how close you will get to the targets. There are 5 targets: 4 black and 1 yellow which gives double points. The goal obviously is to shoot as close to the center of the target as you can for every target but especially the yellow one. If you shoot consecutive 10s from left to right you will get combo bonus points that add on to your score. This sounds very easy but the game complicates things by making the targets move, get smaller or turn sideways so you automatically miss. The computer is very bad at this so this shouldn't be a problem for anyone. FENCING Controls: swing remote forward to thrust your sword, press A to parry, hold down B to charge your power, use the nunchuck control stick to move Tips: Another returning classic that has been made better. The controls are pretty much the same except for the charging. Swing the remote forward to thrust your sword normally but this is not normally very effective. If you stand still you will automatically block all normal attacks (normal thrusts) You can press A to parry which means to block and it throws off your opponent temporarily leaving them vulnerable. An effective technique is to charge shots by holding B and thrusting to extend your reach a little and leave your opponent vulnerable if they are hit so you can hit them again. If you charge your sword until your sword glows red, you can use a special by thrusting and pressing A+B. You can counter all special by parrying but it is pretty hard to do. Power characters have a special that is one hit that sends your character back pretty far and often can knock them out of bounds. All around characters have a similar one except instead of launching you back they push you back so you are near them after it to hit them again. Speed characters have a fast flurry of attacks that can hit your opponent up to 3 times! but you do not move forward at all so you must be close to your opponent. Skill characters throw a projectile that can hit up to 2 times but it is very easy to parry if timed right. If your character is knocked off the platform then the opponent gets an extra point and vice versa. CYCLING Controls: swing remote to start, leader shakes remote up and down, riders tilt remote to stay in the line, press buttons to switch characters. Tips: The startup for this event is the same as equestrian. This a four player bike racing event. The player in front or leader protects the other riders from drag (which decreases their speed). Doing so however makes the leader lose stamina. Shake the remote up and down to pedal as fast as you can. When you are low on stamina your heart symbol next to you will go black and you have to press A to switch positions. If you are one of the riders you will have to press a button also but it can be A, 1, or 2. After you switch you will be at the end so tilt the remote to stay on the blue line. Doing so will increase stamina slowly and if everyone is on the blue line your speed will increase too. The best team is probably 4 power characters because of their stamina they will be able to be leader for a longer period of time but I don'y know if that is true. DREAM EVENTS These events are olympic based games that take place in Mario and Sonic locations. There are 10 brand new dream events in this game. I have to say most of them aren't as good as the winter ones. Also the use of items is gone from the Dream events which is another reason they aren't as good. All of the games you play will use the wii remote held sideways except Dream Fencing in each event. I will put the location in parentheses next to the name DREAM LONG JUMP (Yoshi's Storybook) Controls: use arrow pad to move, shake to flutter jump This event is nothing like long jump besides the goal being to jump the farthest. In this game you automatically do a running start and jump off onto the clouds. The goal is to bounce on the clouds and stay alive the longest. To move press the control pad (arrow keys) in either the left or right direction to go in that direction. You instantly jump whenever you land on a cloud. If you press and hold down 2 you will ground pound. If you ground pound on normal clouds you will jump slightly higher. If you ground pound on smiling clouds, the cloud will split into 2 and can cause trouble for your opponents and you. If you ground pound on the black storm clouds, 4 lightning balls shoot out northwest, northeast, southwest, and southeast positions that stun opponents if they hit them. There are 4 bouncers at the same time bouncing so if you crash into each other it can cause problems. To get rid of them you have to make them fall so a good way to do so is to ground pound smiling clouds to make it harder to jump around. Another good way to get rid of them is to ground pound the right tip of their head because at that angle it will send them flying to the left and down which is very hard to survive against. If you are about to fall you can save yourself by doing a flutter jump by shaking the remote up and down. This gives you a little extra height and distance correctly. There are also bullet bills and cheep cheeps that attack you during the event. There will be a !!! and a couple seconds later one of them will appear. If the !!! is on the right side of the screen it will be a big bullet bill which will fly across the screen horizontly. If it hits you it is not a big deal but it is a good idea to find high clouds to dodge it. If the !!! is at the top of the screen a cheep cheep will appear and will slam down vertically. This is very dangerous and can easily send you straight down to the water below. Dodge this whenever you can by not being directly under it. DREAM RAFTING (Cheep Cheep River) Controls: use arrow pad to move, 2 to jump 2+2 to ground pound Tips: This event does not make any sense but it is kind of fun. First, this is a teamwork event and to compete well you all have to work together. To change directions on your raft all the characters have to be on the right to go right for example and vice versa for the left. The computer on your team is pretty good at following you but if you are playing with friends be sure to tell them where to go. First thing you learn in this game is to crash into barrels to get coins or bob-ombs. Each coin gives 1 point so get as many as you can. So at the beginning first go right to break those barrels and get coins, and then left, and then right. Next, a squadron of bob-ombs comes raining down so you have to ground pound to knock them off or jump on them. If you crash into any walls you can stop the raft from spinning by ground pounding. Next is a 2 way path with barrels on both sides. Pick one and continue on. As you flow down the river some thwomps will block your way. Just manuever around them to dodge. Next, you will see some cheep cheeps in the water. Now (if you are playing with computer teammates) the computer will jump whenever you jump. To defeat cheep cheeps you all have to ground pound at the same time near them. If you kill them you will get extra points. Then you will go down a mini waterfall with some barrels along the way. Next are 2 paths: one with thwomps and one with barrels. Always try to go left to the thwomps because it is worth it more. If you go down the thwomp path you will get your first mission which is to avoid the thwomps. Manuever around the thwomps and you will get 50 points! After that, there will be 2 paths again both with barrels but you get a mission to collect 10 coins. If you do you will get 50 points! Next you have to defeat 3 porcupuffers for a mission. You defeat them the same way as cheep cheeps except you have to ground pound when they are exactly under your raft. If you beat all 3 you will get 60 points. Then there will be a 2 path with barrels again with the mission being to collect 10 coins again. If you do you get 50 coins. For the last part you will fall down a huge waterfall and will meet a familiar face: Goober Blooper! The goal is to beat him and stay on the raft. The over-sized bloopa will attack you by swinging its tentacles at you and if you get hit you will probably get knocked off the boat. You beat him by jumping on his tentacles after he attacks with him. When you do that for each of his 4 tentacles he will be defeated! You get 100 points for killing him and 15 points for each person that stayed on the raft. Congratulations you have just completed Dream Rafting! DREAM DISCUS (Windy Valley) Controls: use arrow pad to move, hold 2 to get power, release 2 to boost Tips: This is another event that makes no sense at all. At the beginning your character automatically throws the discus which swoops over your character and you jump onto it. Then you ride through the sky on your discus to collect the most rings. Obviously to get the rings you have to touch them so steer yourself with the arrow pad and collect rings. There are ring boxes that hold 5 rings in them each. The best way to get these is to boost (by holding 2 until you start glowing and then releasing) in front of everyone to get it. You can aim your boost with the arrow pad. There are also purple robot propellers that can push you out of the way if you hit them. If you boost into them you will get 5 points which is equal to 5 rings. The computer never tries to defeat them so it is easy to do. Watch out for pillars during the event because if you run into them you will be knocked off the screen for a couple seconds which makes you get less rings. At the end of the event you get sucked up into a tornado and blasted into the sky. Then you want to stay in the middle so you can land in the middle of the target to get the most points. The computer will not make it easy so boost into them to knock them away so you have a better chance of getting in the center. DREAM UNEVEN BARS (Grand Metropolis) Controls: swing remote while on a bar to swing faster, hold 2 to stay on a bar, release 2 to jump to another bar, use the arrow pad to aim your jump. Tips: The startup for this event is when Omochao carries your character up to the bars. You can press 2 to make him drop you so you can grab the bars. This works every time you fall off the bars. In this event there are 2 kinds of bars to swing on: pink and green. Green bars can be swung on 4 times for 1 point each time and are the most common bar. Pink bars give 2 points per swing 8 times but are much rarer than green bars. You can swing when you are at the top of the bar to increase your spinning speed but it doesn't make a huge difference. When your bar is black you will no longer get points for spinning on it so jump to another lit bar to get more points (bars turn black whenever they run out of times spun, ex. 4 times on a green makes it black). A cool part about this event is chaingrabbing. If you grab someones legs while in the air you will hang on and spin bars. If there are 2 people you will get 2 times the points, 3 people 3 times the points, and 4 people 4 times the points. This is a very important part of this event; I do not think you can get records without chaingrabbing. The end of this event is a ferris wheel of pink bars so here is your chance to get lots of points by chaingrabbing. When the screen stops scrolling right a platform will appear and it will say that there is only 10 seconds left in the event. Landing on the platform will give you 10 extra points. After the 10 seconds the event will end. DREAM HURDLES (Battlerock Galaxy) Controls: use arrow pad to move, press 2 to jump Tips: This is a very simple event. You run on a spinning disk in Battlerock Galaxy and have to jump over the hurdles. This is complicated by the ? switches though. First though I would like to talk about the art of leapfrogging. Leapfrogging is when you jump over another player and steal a point from them. This can be very frustrating if you are being leapfrogged so do it all you can. Just press 2 to jump over the person to leapfrog. This isn't that important but Dry Bones (see London Party section) thinks it is very important. Every time you jump over a hurdle you get 3 points so jump as many as you can by steering with the arrow pad to jump over the hurdles. ? mark spaces can complicate a game drastically. ? mark spaces can increase the disk's spinning speed which can cause a lot of havoc. ? mark spaces can also make 2 turtle shells appear which if hit made the shells spin on the disk and if they hit you, you will lose 5 points. ? marks can also turn you into a star which makes you hurt and knock anyone down who you touch making them lose 1 point each time you knock them down. The last thing ? mark spaces do is reverse the spinning of the disk which can cause trouble. I like to stay at the front side of the disk (right side spinning right, left side spinning left). That way you are not distracted by the other players and can focus on jumping over all of the hurdles. DREAM EQUESTRIAN (Moo Moo Meadows) Controls: tilt remote to turn, shake remote to speed up, press 2 to jump Tips: This is probably one of the best events and is unique because it is one out of 2 events that has a story. The story is that Toad wants some Yoshi eggs delivered to him but Kamek sees your team of 4 with the Yoshi eggs and wants to stop you from bringing the eggs to Toad. As i have said this is a 4 player team event. Every time you run into an obstacle or miss a jump, you will lose an egg resulting in a 10 second time addition. At the beginning you must manuever your horses by tilting the remote and do the turns. If you run on a booster pad it boosts your speed to max speed for a small period of time. After a few turns you will see a countdown and when it says "Jump" press 2 to jump off the bridge and clear the gap. You will then do some more turns and see trails in the dirt. Those trails are Monty mole trails which if you touch them will make your cart topple and drop one egg. After you dodge all of those you will see Kamek appear and he will throw fireballs at barrels which will make them roll at you. If you get hit by any one of them you will lose an egg. Next you will switch camera angles and now will be seeing your characters straight in the face instead of behind. Then Kamek will make fire barrels appear and make them roll at you. To dodge them stay at one side and when a barrel appears go to the opposite side. After that, you will go into a cave where Kamek makes icicles fall from the cave and if you crash into one you will lose an egg. Kamek will get trapped in the cave and you have to jump through the waterfall (by jumping with 2 when jump appears). At the final part a chain chomp will chase you and you have to tilt the wii remote left or right to balance the cart with eggs (It shows which way to tilt it on the screen). You do this 3 times and will have to shake the remote as fast as you can to jump over the last jump and gallop to the finish. DREAM SPRINT (Bingo Highway) Controls: tilt remote away from you to go forward, tilt left and right to turn, press 2 to jump Tips: This is a very fun event. Basically all you do is run in a hamster ball down a track which is a lot more fun than it sounds. To start the event do the same as equestrian. In this event most of the time you will want to tilt the wii remote away from you so that the buttons are facing the TV. Doing that makes you go at top speed. As you run faster the ball will grow bigger and slower it will be smaller. Except for near the end where you have to go down a hole you will want it to be as big as it can. You can jump over obstacles by pressing 2. In total there are 3 short cuts in the track. The first short cut is after your first jump. You will see 2 glowing yellow rails parallel to each other. You want to jump on the rails and run as fast as you can on them (by tilting the remote away from you) so that you don't fall and waste time. The second short cut is a hole in the pinball area after the rail short cut. A fun fact is that you can jump from the platorm on the rail short cut straight into the pinball hole if you are good at aiming yourself. This can save a lot of time if you jump straight in. The third shotcut is a little after the pinball short cut and is another pair of rails which you must jump on again to go on the short cut. Near the end you will go on a loopdeloop and be shot into another area with a hole in the middle. You want to stop your running speed completely so your ball shrinks to be small enough to go through the hole. Then for the final strech jump over the propeller robots and cross the finish line. DREAM TRAMPOLINE (Crazy Gadget) Controls: press A,1,2 & swing remote in directions for tricks, swing down to clap Tips: This is a duel based trampoline from the old mario/sonic olympic games. Instead of shaking the remote to perform tricks you press A, 1, 2, or swing the remote in the correct direction as shown. There are 8 duels total. The first duel is between the first and second player. When you touch the trampoline and bounce up a button series will appear. The top one is the one you have to do so for example if the order is A, A, 2 going up and down, you would do A, A, 2 and keep going with the rest of the buttons. Many times the instead of buttons it will be the wii remote swung down, or tilt the remote left or right. Do as many as you can because they are endless until you bounce on the trampoline back up onto the platform. You get 4 points per trick and if you win the duel you will get half of the score you got added on. The second duel is between the third and fourth player. When you are not performing tricks you can shake the remote when the yellow circle disappears like in 4x100m to get appeal and get points for it. You get 3 points if timed perfectly each time, 2 if timed a little early or late, and 1 if timed way too early or way too late. The third duel is between the first and third player. The fourth duel is between the second and fourth player. The fifth duel is between the first and fourth player. The sixth duel is between the second and third player. The seventh duel is between the character in last and third place. The eighth duel is between the players in first and second. DREAM SPACEWALK ( Synchro Battle Galaxy) (Really Sky Station Galaxy because Syncro Battle Galaxy does not exist) Controls: tilt the remote in any direction to go that way, press 2 to spin, Tips: This event is pretty stupid but I guess it is fun though. This event is focused on defeating Dino Piranha the first boss in Super Mario Galaxy. Why you are fighting it in the Sky Station Galaxy from Super Mario Galaxy 2 is beyond me but whatever. This is the second event of the 2 events that have a story. The story is that the Lumas (stars) are on a planet and the Dino Piranha shoots fireballs at them. That is it (good story right?). Anyway the Lumas will create magic rings that your team of 4 must go through so that you soar and strike the Dino Piranha. To move tilt the wii remote in the direction you want to go that way and go into a ring. Sometimes there is one big ring all 4 of your characters will have to go in and stay their for a couple seconds and then you will soar at the beast. Press 2 rapidly so that you glow red and will do more damage. Sometimes there will be 4 rings each with a character's face on it. The character should go on in their respective rings and you will soar at the monster. The third variation is 4 separate rings with no faces on them so just pick a ring. After you damage the Dino Piranha to about half of its health it will get angry and will start shooting fireballs at you. You can press 2 to deflect the fireballs so that they hit him. This will make him turn around exposing his tail. If you strike its tail it will swing and hit the beast in the head causing more damage. This is slower though because the fireballs are destroyed if you are all in the rings for a short period of time. So there are 2 different attack methods: either attack as fast as you can for smaller damage, or attack with fireballs for slower more damaging hits. Choose a way because they both work but I am not sure which is better. When you deplete the monster's health it will die and you will win. DREAM FENCING (Ocean Palace) Controls: thrust remote in front of you to swing your sword, press A to parry, B to jump attack, A+B for special attack, nunchuck to move Tips: This is an epic 4 player free for all in Ocean Palace. The goal is obviously to be the last one standing. Use the nunchuck control stick to move. The thrust is your most used tactic and is used as a basic attack by thrusting the remote forward. Parry by pressing A but this parry is a spin parry that blocks attacks from all sides. Pressing B starts a jump attack which makes your character jump and slam down a little farther away but still does the same damage as a normal thrust. A good technique to use is to stay in the center because if you are on the outer edges you can be knocked off by being attacked. Always try to knock your opponents off of the edge. If you are on the edge you have to shake the remote+nunchuck to balance yourself and jump to safety. If you are knocked off you are automatically given a power core which lets you use special moves. You can also get them from defeating robots and they look like little red balls. All special moves can be avoided with a jump attack or parry and do more damage than normal attacks. Power characters do a mighty ground pound that makes everyone get launched into the air and if they are near the edge, they will be knocked off. All around characters use a spinning projectile attack which creates projectiles that spin in a circle around your character. Speed characters turn into a tornado that can be moved with the control stick. Skill characters send a projectile that follows characters until they hit them or are parried/jump attacked. LONDON PARTY London Party is a new mode to the olympics where 4 players roam around London playing bonus minigames and events to get stickers so that they can fill their sticker books. The first to fill the sticker book wins. There are 3 diffuculty levels (easy, normal, and hard) and 3 different number of sticker books. Each sheet holds 16 stickers and you can do 1, 2, or 3 sheets. Every 6 hours (not real time) there is competition time which is when you (or whichever human player is in the lowest position) chooses an event to play. If the event is a team or 1-1 event the winner gets 5 stickers, while for any other event the player in first gets 5 stickers, player in second gets 3, and player in 3rd gets 1. While not in competition time you will roam the streets of London in free time where you can talk to characters to play bonus minigames and events. The characters who walk around are always random. Sometimes rivals will appear but you can only challenge them when they have !!! over their heads. Sometimes characters you talk to will just say some random things and will not start a bonus event or minigame. That character will always be on the farthest right when there is 3 or 4 talkable characters in London. I will list all the characters you can talk to and will explain any bonus minigames that they can activate. You play all of the nonevent parts of London Party by holding the remote sideways. You use the arrow pad to move, and press 2 to jump and 1 to use items. The items in the free time period are running shoe, super star, banana, and chaos emerald. The running shoe boosts your speed. The star makes you invincible. The banana make anyone who walks on it slip. The Chaos emerald electrocutes everyone which stuns them. Most if the minigames are very simple and have no real strategy. When you are placing stickers the controls are using the arrow pad to move and pressing 2 to put stickers down. There will be ? mark spaces on your sticker sheet. These change colors from blue to green to yellow to red. They change colors as the game goes on. Red are the most dangerous and most powerful while blue is not powerful at all. Putting a sticker on a ? mark space can do one of the following effects. 1) Bonus sticker which gives you 1-2 bonus stickers depending on ? mark color. 2) Sticker Gift which gives 1-3 stickers to a random player. 3) Sticker Copied which copies a sticker in another place. 4) Chain Chomp which destroys enemy stickers 1 for green/blue, 4 for yellow, and 9 for red. 5)Magikoopa which destroys your stickers in a row up to 4 for blue/green/yellow and up to 8 for red. 6) ? mark change which can either destroy or make another ? mark space on your sheet. 7) Boo which trades your sheet with the player in first's. You can only fight Rivals when they have a !!! over their head and it will be a one on one in the event. To do the rival rematches you have to talk to them when they are angry 2 times in the same party. LAKITU: Hammer Throw (look under events) Javelin Throw (look under events) Highway Tally: press 2 to count up, press 1 to count down. This is a counting minigame where you have to count all of the displayed character shown. There are 3 possible locations for you to count characters. For all of them I suggest you count them as you see them. Follow the Flighty Lakitu: press 2 to jump and use the arrow pad to move. In this minigame you want to follow Lakitu until the end. All you do is dodge banana peels and make sure you don't go slow enough to be off the screen. Collect Shy Guy's coins: press 2 to jump, 1 to talk, and use the arrow pad to move. In this game there are 15 Shy Guys running everywhere that each have 1 coin. If you talk to them by pressing 1 you will get their coin. A good strategy is to go talk to Shy Guys that are not close to the ones the computer is talking to and remember the ones you talked to. It can be hard to find the last few Shy Guys but just keep looking and once you find all 15 the game will end. Protect the Diamonds: press 2 to jump, 1 to lift diamonds, and use the arrow pad to move. In this game there are many Lakitus who are trying to steal the diamonds in Hyde Park. You and the computer must cooperatively protect them. The Lakitus will grab the diamonds with fishing poles and will slowly bring them out of the park and if they bring it out of the park you lose. To make the Lakitu drop the diamond just jump into them. Keep the diamonds together so that you can defend them easier. London Sightseeing Tour: press 2 to jump, arrow pad to move. In this event you want to go through 6 randomly placed gates to see the sites of London. At the beginning of the event, the gates will show on the map as green dots and will disappear in the next couple seconds. Your job is to remember those locations and try to go the most strategetic fastest way to get through all of the gates. They are random so I can't give a strategy. CHARMY: Beach Volleyball (look under events) Long Jump (look under events) Highway Ring Collectors: press 2 to jump, arrow pad to move. In this game you are running on the street trying to pick up the most rings. You will have to dodge hurdles and pits to collect the rings. If you are off the screen or fall into a pit, you will not come back so make sure not to do either of those things. The rings are sometimes right before a hurdle or on a different lane of the hurdle so don't go too fast or else you will miss the rings. 2 on 2 Tag: Pipestyle: press 2 to jump, press 1 to touch dash (which boosts your speed when you are near an evader only for tagger), arrow pad to move. In this game you are competing in teams of 2 to either tag the 2 other players or evade the 2 other players (depending on which team you are on which is chosen randomly). These streets are blocked by walls which divides them into 2 sides. The only way to get on the other side is by pipe. The short ones are the only ones you can go through because you come out of the tall ones. For the taggers I suggest you stay on one side so that the evaders can nit run so easily if your partner is on the other side. For the evaders I suggest running in confusing patterns to get away from the taggers. Stay on the Hazardous Highway: press 2 to jump, arrow pad to move. In this game you are running on the same streets as the highway ring collectors but this time there is no rings and the streets are much more dangerous. There are many pits, hurdles, and buses for you to dodge and it can be pretty hard to survive. If you are hit by something shake the remote and you might get up in time. Jump over hurdles and small gaps and dodge buses SHY GUY (Red) Hero Quiz: press an arrow on the arrow pad to answer the question. This is a quiz on the 2 heroes: Mario and Sonic. There are 3 questions to solve. There will sometimes be 4 answers or only 2 answers and you want to press the arrow that has the right answer. The questions are always random. Sometimes Shy Guy will try to trick you by ending a sentence with ... and then changing the question. If you answer quicker you will get more points. Athlete Characters Quiz: press an arrow on the arrow pad to answer the quesion. This is a quiz on all of the playable characters in this game. There are 3 questions to solve. In this minigame a cannon will shoot stickers into the air and you must gather them. The stupid part is that only 5 of the stickers are real and the rest are fake. So you have to run around catching as many stickers as you can so that you have the chance that the stickers will be real. Vacant Lot Kiki Hunt: arrow pad to move, press 2 to jump, press 1 to touch dash. In this minigame Kikis are everywhere and you must catch the most to win. The kikis are not stupid and if they see you they will run away. They don't run very fast but it is better to go around from behind to catch them. Coin Collectors: Shell Game: use arrow pad to move, press 2 to jump, press 1 for items. This is the same as coin collectors except that the only items you can get are shells. If you are hit by a shell you will lose 10 coins so be sure to dodge them. Go for big groups of coins with no computer players near them for the best results. 2 on 2 Icon Matchup: press 2 to jump. In this game you and your partner are trying to match the icon on the spinning block above you to match the one on the screen. The icons are the characters' symbols. To hit the icon with the right timing hit it just when you see it and it should match. Hope your teammate gets it also and you will get a point. Get the most points to win. Hyde Park Sticker Hunt: use the arrow pad to move, press 2 to jump, press 1 to find. In this event you are trying to find stickers that are under the ground. You have a sensor to help. I myself have not gotten all of the stickers. I have 100 out of the 104 so I could figure out the rest of the stickers. Here is a list of the stickers from left to right, up and down to help you figure out which stickers you still need to get and then look above to see which character to talk to, to trigger the bonus game that you need stickers for. Some bonus minigames are very rare for example Lakitu's Highway Tally is much more common than the Guard the Diamonds game. If I have ??? after a sticker it means I have it but don't remember that bonus minigame so it won't be above. Please email me if you know about those. 1) Rival Showdown: Rouge 2) Rival Showdown: Dry Bowser 3) Rival Showdown: Jet 4) Rival Showdown: King Boo 5) Rival Showdown: Eggman Nega 6) Rival Showdown: Dry Bones 7) Rival Showdown: Omega 8) Rival Showdown: Birdo 9) Rival Showdown Rematch: Eggman Nega 10) Rival Showdown Rematch: Dry Bones 11) Rival Showdown Rematch: Omega 12) Rival Showdown Rematch: Birdo 13) Go Away Boo (Mario) 14) Get That Crown (Sonic) 15) Go Away Boo (Luigi) 16) Hyde Park Coin Collectors (Tails) 17) Hyde Park Coin Collectors (Peach) 18) Go Away Boo (Amy) 19) 2 on 2 Tablet Tussle (Bowser) 20) Hyde Park Coin Collectors (Dr. Eggman) 21) Get That Crown (Yoshi) 22) 2 on 2 Tablet Tussle (Knuckles) 23) 2 on 2 Tablet Tussle (Wario) 24) Get That Crown (Shadow) 25) Hyde Park Coin Collectors (Waluigi) 26) Hyde Park Coin Collectors (Silver) 27) Get That Crown (Daisy) 28) Go Away Boo (Blaze) 29) Go Away Boo (Bowser Jr.) 30) Get That Crown (Metal Sonic) 31) 2 on 2 Tablet Tussle (Donkey Kong) 32) 2 on 2 Tablet Tussle (Vector) 33) Coin Collectors: Shell Game 34) Vacant Lot Espio Hunt 35) Get That Shy Guy 36) Highway Ring Collectors 37) Shy Guy Tag 38) Bonus Sticker 39) Guard the Diamonds 40) Event Quiz 41) Follow the Flighty Lakitu 42) Vacant Lot Kiki Hunt 43) Highway Goomba Hunt 44) Supporting Cast Quiz 45) Coin Collectors: Spiny Shock 46) Highway Tally 47) Watch Out for Boo 48) Hero Quiz 49) Heroine Quiz 50) Athlete Characters Quiz 51) All Characters Quiz 52) Grab Bag Quiz 53) Olympic Games Quiz 54) United Kingdom Quiz 55) London Quiz 56) 2 on 2 Tag 57) 3 on 1 Tag 58) 2 on 2 London Tag??? 59) Point Based Shell Showdown 60) One Shot Shell Showdown 61) 2 on 2 Shell Shell Showdown??? 62) Collect Shy Guys' Coins 63) Stay on the Hazardous Highway 64) Orbot and Cubot Tag 65) London Coin Collectors 66) Hyde Park Sticker Hunt 67) Catch the Floating Sticker 68) Stay on the Marathon Highway 69) London Sightseeing Tour 70) 2 on 2 Tag Pipestyle 71) 3 on 1 Tag 72) Rotary Chance 73) 2 on 2 Icon Matchup 74) 100m 75) 110m Hurdles 76) 4x100m Relay 77) Long Jump 78) Hammer Throw 79) Discus Throw 80) Javelin Throw 81) Uneven Bars 82) Trampoline 83) Rhytmic Ribbon 84) 100m Freestyle 85) Syncronized Swimming 86) Canoeing 87) Equestrian 88) Badminton 89) Beach Volleyball 90) Table Tennis 91) Football (Soccer) 92) Shooting 93) Fencing 94) Cycling 95) Dream Long Jump 96) Dream Rafting 97) Dream Discus 98) Dream Uneven Bars 99) Dream Hurdles 100) Dream Equestrian 101) Dream Sprint 102) Dream Trampoline 103) Dream Spacewalk 104) Dream Fencing BONUS MODE Bonus mode has many different things you can do. There are 3 things to do: Scratch Cards, Mii Costume Change, and Sound. Every time you play an event you get 1 scratch card and for every sticker sheet you fill in London Party you get 5. Scratch cards are used for a lottery where you choose 2 out of 6 squares on a board and if they are the same you get that prize. The prizes are either Mario and Sonic music or clothing items. If you do not get a match if will turn into a blank card which you can use in groups of ten (for costumes), 5 (for other clothing items), or 2 (for Mario and Sonic music). For example if you had 7 blank cards you could get 1 song and 1 clothing noncostume item. The second thing to do is Mii Costume change where you can change clothes for your Miis. Sound has 2 sections, JukeBox and Gameplay Music. Jukebox is where you can listen to any music in the game. Gameplay Music is where you can use Mario and Sonic music instead of the event music during the events. CHALLENGES The challenges have replaced the Emblems from the previous games. suggest you do the 2nd song. It has the least changing from one pose to another by moving your arms like swinging them over your head. I find that it helps if you only use 1 arm to get more accuracy and speed ** This challenge is impossibly hard. I couldn't do it by facing the computer so I had 3 players and only 1 computer (I only have 3 remotes) and just battled it out with the other computer for the 50 mark on the target. This challenge made me hate this event because of all the failures and times I have tried to do it. Do it the easy way and have as many as you can players who are not moving to make this challenge easier. RECORDS Again like in my last FAQ I will display my records. Some of them are not very good and would be better if records were counted in London Party. If you have better records than me you can email them to me so you will be posted on the records.
