Cue Sir Knight, whose task is to put wrongs to right, single-handedly, with only his glorious techincoloured pixellated self (plus some nifty weapons and skills) to rely on. * * * ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TABLE OF CONTENTS ................................................ TALKING When wishing to speak to someone, stand next to them and a small speech bubble appears at the lower right of the screen. Touch this to initiate a conversation. It shows the current level, HP, MP, and Gold. Touch it to open the menu screen where you can save/load your game, see and change equipment, use spells or items and change the settings for music, special effects and battle speed. G A M E B A S I C S ............................................. *BASIC =============================================================================== SAVING You can save (and load) your game at any time and anywhere! There are three separate save files. The game also makes an automatic save, so if you die you'll find that a new save has been added. You can reload from this Auto Save or not as you wish. After you continue with the game this save disappears. DEATH Yes, you can die if Sir Knight runs out of health. He will be returned to the last town where you last saved your game, which can be awkward if you didn't save and travelled a long way, You retain your current levels BUT your stock of gold has been cut in half, just as in Dragon Quest. Sadly, there's no bank to deposit your cash so it's worth playing safe! NAVIGATION You walk everywhere, but at the end of an event you'll be taken back to the central hub of the game: the Temple of Balance, or back to another location so you do not have to walk back from far-flung places. At level 18 you acquire the Warp spell which allows you to move directly to any town. There is a map of the whole world which is helpfully marked with the word "MAP" at the top right corner of the screen. Touch it to display the map. DUNGEONS Many dungeons are dark caves, they might be small but they are still confusing to navigate when you cannot see far. Buy or find Torches to light the path! These can only be used once. At level 20 you'll get the Illume spell which does the same thing, saving on having to purchase Torches. Links to fully detailed map FAQs for three of the more complex dark dungeons have been included in this walkthrough. SHOPPING Each major town has two shops: an Item Shop and an Equipment shop. Enemies drop gold and you will find some cash inside treasure chests. The maximum amount of Gold you can carry is 9999! BARD Every town has a pub where a Bard will tell you about the experience needed to your next level, and give you hints, if you select the option to "Gossip". TREASURE There are no hidden items in towns or dungeons and everything that is discoverable is inside a treasure chest. However, some are in out-the-way places and require a Magic Key to gain access! LEVELLING UP The maximum level is 25 and on each level up Sir Knight is fully healed. Find out how much experience is needed to the next level from the Bard in each town. RECALL STONE Buy the Recall Stone when you can afford to do so. It costs 75 Gold and money is hard to come by at first. This item allows you to escape from any dungeon area and you'll be whisked back to the nearest town. It's a life-saver! Later on you'll gain two spells: Escape puts you outside the dungeon, and Warp takes you to a selected town, but carrying a Recall Stone at all times is advisable. =============================================================================== III. B A T T L E S Y S T E M ....................................... *BATTLE =============================================================================== TAKING TURNS The battle system is a very basic, turn-based affair, Sir Knight and the single enemy he fights take it in turns to whack each other until one of them is dead. After that, Sir Knight wins rewards of Gold and Experience Points allowing him to slowly gain levels and increase his strength, health and magic points. RANDOM BATTLES Battles will occur randomly while walking around, although boss battles are in fixed locations and you can usually see the boss before you fight it. BATTLE COMMANDS Four commands appear on the screen: ATTACK, MAGIC, ITEM, RUN. Touch one! Attacks will happen immediately and the Magic and Item commands open a menu screen where you pick the one you want. There's no option to defend. Running away usually works in open country but less often in dungeons. However you can try again if you wish and by the third attempt you should be successful. SKILLS Some enemies use special skills as well as physical attacks, and Sir Knight acquires spells as well, at set levels. These need Magic Points to use and include healing spells, escape spells and attack magic. Items and spells can be used in a battle to heal HP. There are no status effects and no need for lots of status healing items or spells. SURPRISE/CRITICAL ATTACKS Sometimes the enemies will surprise attack you, and this is the only time when they get the first strike. Also you will sometimes make a critical attack doing more damage, and the chance of this happening can be boosted by equipping a particular sword and accessory. =============================================================================== IV. H I N T S A N D T I P S ........................................*TIPS =============================================================================== * Fight enemies close to a town until you can kill them easily. This allows you to level up and gain some Gold. Make sure you have the best equipment available before exploring a dungeon or fighting a boss. * Save your game often and don't die! It's better to reload than risk losing half your Gold. * You will need 9999 Gold to buy the very best shield. Try and save up Gold as you progress so you don't have to grind too much to buy this. * A quick, but potentially very frustrating, way to gain money is to fight the special enemy called Hobb. This imp creature has only 3 HP and is found at locations where you can see lots of footprints. Killing him gives 200 Gold and 190 experience points, BUT, he will run away before you kill him. No matter how powerful you get you can only ever attack him for 1 HP worth of damage, unless you manage a critical attack which does 2 HP damage. (He's a bit like a Metal Slime!) He might hang around long enough for you to hit him three times, but he's just as likely to give you a run for your money, literally. * Save money by not staying at inns and try to manage to fight until the next level up to benefit from the free healing. This can be incredibly useful if you set out to fight a boss knowing that you'll soon level up. You can freely use magic to kill enemies quickly on the way, and then level up just before a boss fight. This saves on item use as well. * However, also carry a good stock of items in case you need them: at least one of each kind and at least 5 Herbs. ALWAYS carry a Recall Stone in case of trouble! It's no use having a spell to escape a dungeon if you don't have any MP left to use it! * If the game isn't ready for you to go somewhere, then you won't be able to: either because the enemies are too powerful, or because they tell you there's a barrier if you haven't yet completed a necessary part of the quest. * The game is designed so that you'll increase levels as needed for the next boss, and be able to buy the equipment you need, so long as you don't run away from too many battles! =============================================================================== V. W A L K T H R O U G H .................. *WALK =============================================================================== Select "New Game" and choose your character's name. You can use up to 8 letters. Touch "Confirm" to launch the introduction to the story. =============================================================================== CANTLIN CASTLE .......................................................... *WK01 =============================================================================== SERVICES Bard, Inn (10G) TREASURE Herb x3 LOCAL ENEMIES Tuber ITEM SHOP EQUIPMENT SHOP Herb ................ 15 G Copper Sword ........ 80 G Torch ............... 25 G Wooden Shield ....... 45 G Recall Stone ........ 75 G Padded Armor ........ 80 G ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ When you have control, leave the king's chamber and cross the small bridge. Touch the status panel to view Sir Knight's equipment. He has a Wooden Sword and Training Clothes, and carries one healing Herb. His level is 1 and he has 20 HP, 0 MP and attack of 1 with defence of 2. He only has 10 Gold, just enough for one stay at the Inn! Walk to the left along the castle walkway. You'll find an Item Shop but you can't buy anything yet. Go up the path and you'll find some stairs down into the jail cells. Check the first cell to find a treasure chest. It contains [HERBS x3] which will be helpful and save you having buy any healing items for a while. Leave the cells and if you walk to the right you will find a locked door to a treasure room to the right. This cannot be opened yet as you need a Magic Key. For now, go back along the main path and check out the location of the equipment shop along to the right from the guards. Walk down into the town and you'll be greeted by the Bard. Follow him into his shop and talk to him to find out how much experience is needed to reach the next level (10!) and for "gossip" about where to go next if you need to know! Durnwall is quite a long walk from here and there are more things to do before trying to get there. Leave the castle and follow the path to the west to the Temple of Balance. Talk with the Head Priestess who is found at the back of the main floor. There's nothing useful to find in here. Fight Tuber enemies until you've levelled up to 3. It will take three battles to reach Level 2 so you shouldn't need to heal or use a Herb. Don't go north from the castle, (behind the mountains) as you'll encounter more powerful enemies that you won't be able to defeat while at low levels. Keep checking with the Bard to find out how close you are to the next level as this fully heals you and you can save on having to spend money staying at the Inn. However, the Inn at the Castle is cheaper than buying extra Herbs so use it when you need to! Save up gold to buy the better sword: it will take a while. The shield will help, even though it doesn't give much defence. I didn't bother buying the armour as raising that much gold would take a while and you can manage without it. When you reach level 3 you gain the attack spell M-Slash and will have HP of 34 and MP of 9. This gives you a fighting chance even against stronger enemies! Time to venture forth to the next town. =============================================================================== TALLIS .................................................................. *WK02 =============================================================================== SERVICES Bard, Inn (10G) LOCAL ENEMIES Tuber, Chomper, Wolf TREASURE Torch ITEM SHOP EQUIPMENT SHOP Herb ................ 15 G Copper Sword ........ 80 G Torch ............... 25 G Wooden Shield ....... 45 G Recall Stone ........ 75 G Padded Armor ........ 80 G ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After visiting the Temple of Balance walk north to find the next town. You'll encounter more powerful Chomper enemies on the way, but at level 3 you should them easily. Level up to 4 around Tallis, but beware of walking east as the enemies are much more powerful and you're not meant to go that way just yet! From the entrance of the town, walk up past the Inn to the Item Shop. Turn right, and edge around the wall of the shop and you'll find a blacked out building. with an open door. Go inside to find a treasure chest. This contains a [TORCH]! There's no need to spend any more money in Tallis, but make sure you have equipped the Copper Sword before going into the cave. The torch is useful for lighting this next dungeon, but with a FAQ to follow you don't need it so you could sell it off, and in any case you'll find another one inside the cave. Cross the bridge to the west of town and you'll encounter the Wolf enemy, Use the M-Slash magic attack on it. Wander around this area until you reach level 5 and learn the Heal spell. You can go all the way to the south where you'll find a broken bridge and the enemies are the same Chomper and Wolf. =============================================================================== SOUTH CAVE .............................................................. *WK03 =============================================================================== ENEMIES Globbat TREASURE Torch, Herb, 20 G ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The cave is to the southwest of the area over the bridge from Tallis. The problem with the Torch is that it doesn't all that long and the cave is quite spacious with many twists and turns as well as lots of Globbats to fight! From the entrance go left, keeping close to the lower wall, and then go down at the first junction. The passage widens and there's an opening to the right. Go through here into a small side room. Head right, and up to find a treasure chest in the top right corner that contains a [TORCH]. Return to the main passage. Walk down a few steps to reach a crossroads and take the left turning. (Don't go along the first turning to the left.) Follow the passage to a treasure chest at the lower left corner of the cave floor. This contains [20 GOLD]. From here, return to the main passage crossroads. The exit path is to the right, but first of all take the path down that leads along a twisting passage to a treasure chest that contains a [HERB]. Go back to the crossroads and turn right. Walk straight ahead and then follow the path down around a corner. At the next junction, go right, and down to reach the exit. Go west, across the small bridge and you'll immediately meet a change of enemy. Use one M-Slash and an ordinary attack to kill the Automaton. Walk a little further over the brown hills and turn north. You'll see the town just a short distance away, surrounded with mountains. =============================================================================== DURNWALL ................................................................ *WK04 =============================================================================== SERVICES Bard, Inn (15G) TREASURE Herb, 50 Gold LOCAL ENEMIES Wolf, Automaton, Forest Wolf ITEM SHOP EQUIPMENT SHOP Herb ................ 15 G Copper Sword ....... 80 G Torch ............... 25 G Iron Sword ......... 180 G Recall Stone ........ 75 G Copper Shield ...... 110 G Padded Armor ....... 80 G Leather Armor ...... 140 G ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Walk up and left to find the Bard's shop. Talk to him to find out that the path to the Temple of Metal is blocked, but he gives a hint about some mines that might lead you to Coalfell. Yes, more torch spelunking! There are some stairs leading down to the basement where you'll find two treasure chests. One has a [HERB] and the other [50 GOLD]. You'll probably need to use the Inn to restore health. Raise your level to 6 by fighting the Automaton until you can kill it easily. Buy the Leather Armor and the Iron Sword. The Equipment shop is at the upper left of the town and the Item Shop is at the upper right. =============================================================================== MINES AREA .............................................................. *WK05 =============================================================================== ENEMIES Imp, Globbat TREASURE None ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Walk north from Durnwall until you see a road leading north. It's blocked at the far end so head west into the trees and then north. You'll spot a cave opening at the south edge of the mountains. (By the way: you can walk all the way around the coast: you can see that from the map.) MINE 1 You enter at the bottom left corner of the cave. Up is a dead end, so simply walk right, keeping close to the lower wall and then go up the straight path to the stairs. These take you out to the world map. MINE 2 Walk a few steps down and enter the second mine. This is linked to the first one but the short path behind the stairs has a wall that blocks access back. Go straight ahead to a T junction. To reach the exit it's just down to the lower wall and right, but there is a treasure to find!. It's actually in the top left corner of this cave but there's no access to it from here. If you spot it, don't worry, It's reached from a door in the town of Coalfell that is opened with a Magic Key, much later in the game. After leaving the second mine, walk north to reach the smoky town of Coalfell. But save your game before entering! You will probably be at level 7 by now, but level 6 is high enough to deal with what comes next! =============================================================================== COALFELL ................................................................ *WK06 =============================================================================== SERVICES None ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is an abandoned town, but there's a little surprise in store when you arrive. o----------------------------o | BOSS - METALWORK COLOSSUS | o----------------------------o This guy has around 80 HP and will do a Reckless Smash attack that hurts you for around 6-8 HP. Keep using M-Slash on him until you win! It should take four or five of them depending on whether you have the Iron Sword and your current level. You get 60 Experience points and 50 Gold The miners rush off to clear the block in the road leading back to Durnwall. If you go left along the path in the town you'll see a strange doorway. This one is sealed with a magic lock and requires the Magic Key. Return here later to get the treasure inside! The other locked doors never open and the town remains abandoned. Leave the town by the north exit and, depending on your health, either return to Durnwall to buy more equipment and rest at the inn, or just carry on up to the Temple of Metal. HOBB ALERT! One more thing you can do before going in there. Walk around to eastern edge of the continent and you'll find some footprints in the sandy ground. (They are easily visible from the area around Coalfell.) These show the presence of Hobb, an enemy that gives good rewards for gold and experience, but is difficult to kill. He won't hurt you at all, but he will most often as not, run away before you can kill him. He only has 3 HP but you can only hit him for 1 or at the most 2 HP damage (if you get a critical hit). There are two more locations where he can be found and both are a bit more accessible than this one! =============================================================================== TEMPLE OF METAL ......................................................... *WK07 =============================================================================== ENEMIES Dancing Sword, Disciple, Metal Golem TREASURE Herb, Recall Stone, Bronze Bangle ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Enter the Temple to get a message from the Guardian, but ignore that. However, watch out for the Metal Golem in here as it is significantly stronger than the Automaton and you will need the Iron Sword to kill it quickly with one M-Slash and an ordinary attack. If you have any trouble in here then level up against the weaker enemies outside Durnwall until you reach level 7 and learn the Escape spell. This lets you instantly leave a dungeon, depositing you outside on the world map. Go left and then down the passage to reach some stairs to the basement. Follow the corridor left and up to reach a large room with a single treasure chest. This contains a [RECALL STONE]. Use this to be transported directly back to Durnwall if you need to. Return to the main floor and go right, and down, to the other side of the basement to find the [BRONZE BANGLE] accessory. Return to the main floor. Go through the door and down the stairs. Go up this room and through a door. Walk up the metal walkway to the crossroads and go right. You'll find a treasure chest with a [HERB] tucked into the left side of the next room. Continue going up and then left. At the crossroads walk up, and through the door, and carry on up the path and through the next door. Keep going along the passage to reach a platform with big beast sitting on it. Save your game and heal up before moving towards the boss. o----------------------------o | BOSS - GUARDIAN OF METAL | o----------------------------o At level 7 with the best equipment this beast causes around 8 to 10 points of damage with its physical attack and you'll lose around 14 HP for every Bite attack. M-Slash should inflict around 19 points of hurt and an ordinary attack around 12. Keep up the pressure with M-Slash, not forgetting to heal (using Herbs rather than wasting MP) when you need it. If you don't defeat it within around 5 or 6 turns it will crouch, and on the next turn it unleashes Molten Claw that hurts for about 30 HP or more. You win 240 experience points and 75 Gold. After the battle you're automatically taken to the Temple of Balance where you place the Orb of Metal on the pedestal. You are told to go north to find the Guardian of Water and you'll find that health has been restored for free! Talk to the priestess again if you need to hear the instructions. The route lies through a cave to the northeast. Call in at Tallis and talk to the Bard for more help about the route. From arriving at the northern continent go north to the town of Mistport. (Actually you don't have to go to Mistport first and can just charge ahead to the Bandit's Cave if you're in a hurry!) =============================================================================== CAVE TO MISTPORT ........................................................ *WK08 =============================================================================== ENEMIES Forest Wolf, Globb, Vampire Globbat, Peeper, Bandit TREASURE 50 Gold ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ From Tallis, walk east, through the forested area and then, north east through a gap in the mountains. You'll encounter the Forest Wolf around here and the Globb enemy. Follow the lie of the land going north over the grass to reach a cave at the tip of the continent. Follow the passage right, and up, and then left. Go straight up from the wall to reach a treasure chest sitting against the upper wall. This contains a [TORCH]. GO back down towards the stairs and head right. At the next junction walk up, following the kinks in the path and you'll spot a treasure chest at the right, behind a wall. Keep going as the path turns left, up and then right and down at the junction to reach the chest. It contains [60 GOLD]. From here, walk up, and right to reach a T junction and a long passage. Walk up this passage to the exit. Take a look at the world map to see your position. Mistport is due north from here, but walk slightly to the west to follow the road north and avoid the mountains. =============================================================================== MISTPORT ................................................................ *WK09 =============================================================================== SERVICES Bard, Inn (20 G) LOCAL ENEMIES Bandit, Globb ITEM SHOP Herb ................ 15 G Copper Sword ....... 80 G Tonic ............... 75 G Broadsword ......... 450 G Elixer .............. 50 G Iron Shield ........ 250 G Torch ............... 25 G Leather Armor ...... 140 G Recall Stone ........ 75 G Iron Plate ......... 650 G ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chat to anyone here and they will tell you that the lighthouse is out of commission and that no-one will sail in the dangerous mist. However, bandits have stolen the artefact required to run the lighthouse and fled to the caves to the west. Don't bother buying the Iron plate unless you have acquired lots of cash because you'll soon find some better armour than the Leather stuff you should already have. It's not as strong as the Iron Plate, but it's free! You could invest in the sword or shield instead and buy a Recall Stone if you don't have one, as well as a few herbs. Note that the Elixer restores a small amount of MP and a Tonic heals for around 150 HP, and that might be useful too Fight a few enemies locally to raise more cash if you need it. There's another of those magically locked doors here, in the house at the upper left of the town. Walk up to the jetty area and talk to the captain who's at the left of the guards. He'll take you to the Temple Water when the mist has cleared. Leave town and walk a few steps west and you'll see the Lighthouse to the north, but it cannot be entered. Walk further west and cross the small bridge heading north. =============================================================================== BANDIT'S CAVES .......................................................... *WK10 =============================================================================== CAVE 1 ENEMIES Peeper, Bandit, Vampire Globbat TREASURE 50 Gold ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ From Mistport, walk west and cross the bridge to reach a cave at the north edge of the land. Enter, and walk straight up from the steps following the path as it turns up at the corner. (Ignore the turning to the right as it leads to a dead end.) At the junction turn left and follow the passage down to reach a treasure chest. This contains [50 GOLD]. Return to the junction and walk up, and right, all the way to the wall. Go down from here, right, and up, to reach the exit stairs. You're now on an island with a bridge ahead. Walk up to enter the second cave. This is the Bandit's Hideout. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CAVE 2 ENEMIES Peeper, Bandit, Vampire Globbat TREASURE Herb, Chainmail ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You enter at the right hand side of the cave. From the entrance go left as far as you can, then up, and right to find a treasure chest in the top right corner of the wall. This contains [CHAINMAIL]. Return to the entrance stairs and walk up the passage. Go right at the first turning to find a treasure chest with a [HERB]. Return to the junction and continue up this passage to the top wall. Turn left and carry on to the left wall where you'll see the stairs to the next floor on the far side of the wall. Go down and follow the linear passage to the stairs. On the next floor wait before lighting another torch as the passage is linear again. Follow it to the end and you'll find another set of stairs up. This takes you into the Bandit's HQ. Save your game and walk up the passage. o----------------------------o | BOSS - BANDIT LEADER | o----------------------------o He does around 8-10 damage on each turn. He'll go down after seven M-Slash attacks at level 8 with the Iron Sword and less with better equipment and higher levels. Intersperse these with ordinary attacks if your MP is low and heal up with items. You get 240 Experience, 75 gold and the [ORB OF LIGHT]! You'll be warped to the lighthouse automatically, and after the Orb has been restored to its rightful place, you'll be back in Mistport. You automatically talk to the captain and he will take you across the water to the Temple. Health is restored after the battle, but purchase more items if necessary and the Broad Sword if you don't already have it. =============================================================================== TEMPLE OF WATER ......................................................... *WK11 =============================================================================== ENEMIES Krakken, Bubbles, Merman TREASURE 150 Gold. Tonic, Recall Stone ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After the less than cordial welcome walk left, over the bridge and up the stairs. On the next floor walk down, cross the two bridges and go left, over another bridge and around to the switch. Switch it on to show green. Return to first floor and do the same on the other side. You'll find a treasure chest at the back of the area as well. Just walk up the path to the left of the switch to find it and obtain [150 GOLD]. Return to main floor where a path has opened into the middle section. (You could cast Escape and enter the Temple again from the front if you can't be bothered to walk back!) Go down the stairs to a new floor. Walk right, over a bridge to find some stairs down. There's a treasure chest inside a small room that contains a [TONIC]. Return up the stairs and walk all the way to the far left. At the T junction go left, up and over a bridge to find another chest which contains a [RECALL STONE]. Return to the junction and walk down and left, crossing three bridges and then go all the way to the right to reach the stairs in the bottom right corner. Walk up over more bridges to find the boss! o----------------------------o | BOSS - GUARDIAN OF WATER | o----------------------------o Hydro Blast does 16 - 20 HP damage and he might use that attack twice in a row. His ordinary attack does around 12 HP worth of hurt, and after a few rounds the boss channels his energy and does a Tsunami on the next turn, which does about 45 damage. (He might not use this spell at all, but watch out for it!) Keep an eye on the message he's about to do this attack and heal up if you need to. Attack him with M-Slash which causes around 25-30 damage, and if your MP runs out, then attack with ordinary attacks and you might generate a critical blow. He has around 300 HP. You'll be rewarded with 480 experience and 150 gold. That's it and you'll be transported back to the Temple of Balance where you place the Orb of Water on the pedestal. The priestess gives you the next target: go to the east and seek out the Guardian of Earth. The route lies over the repaired bridge to the south. =============================================================================== ROUTE TO DORTUM ......................................................... *WK12 =============================================================================== ENEMIES Hobb, Marauder, Minidemon, Earth Golem, Dire Wolf ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ It's quite a long walk to the next location and you should take a Tonic or two and maybe an Elixir as well to ensure you make it! If you don't have these, just stock up on Herbs. Walk north to Tallis, then across the bridge to the west, and go south. Keep walking all the way to southern coastline to find the repaired bridge. Cross over and walk south a bit further and you'll spot the tell-tale signs of a Hobb's footprints.on the grass. Wander around here for a while if you want to try and catch the little rascal and win some extra experience and gold. Keep walking east until you reach the coast, and do NOT go down the spit of land leading to the south. You'll encounter very powerful enemies whom you cannot kill before they kill you, and you still have a fair way to go before reaching the next town. You'll see a small bridge to the north. Cross over and head up the coast to another bridge that takes you to the east. (If you keep going north you'll find a small building called Pollup's Tomb, but there's no way in as the door is magically locked. It's another place that requires that Magic Key. Leave it for now and cross over the bridge, heading due east, and you'll soon find the town of Dortum. =============================================================================== DORTUM .................................../.............................. *WK13 =============================================================================== SERVICES Bard, Inn (25G) LOCAL ENEMIES Marauder, Earth Golem, Mandragora, Dire Wolf, Minidemon ITEM SHOP EQUIPMENT SHOP Herb ................ 15 G Falcion ............ 750 G Tonic ............... 75 G Heavy Buckler ...... 350 G Elixer .............. 50 G Full Plate ......... 900 G Torch ............... 25 G Recall Stone ........ 75 G ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dortum is an annoying town because it's quite spread out and you can only exit from the southern path. Both shops are along the path to far left. Buy the Full Plate when you can afford it, and the Falcion sword. You'll find a decent shield inside the Temple so you can hold off on buying a new one. A lot depends on your levels but if you're still at level 10 the local enemies will prove a bit more challenging. Fight the Mandragora found between the town and the bridge and these give a slightly higher cash reward: 22 Gold. Or return to the area where you can fight Hobbs. Go to the upper house to find the Elder who tells you to find three outlying shrines. The Bard tells you the same, that if you visit all three shrines this will raise the Earth Temple. Before leaving buy some extra items as the dungeon is longer than usual. Walk south from the town, keeping close to the coast, until you reach the south edge. You'll see the shrine here, Enter, turn the switch to green and leave. From here, walk up over the hills and turn east to go along a path covered with trees in a gap between the mountains. Follow this path east and then, south, hugging the coast again as you cross over some hills. Turn north, still keeping close to the coast, although the mountains will force you a little inland. Go straight up to find the second shrine. Enter, and turn on the switch. Next, walk a little further north and turn to the west and walk directly to the west to find the third shrine. After using the switch there will be a shudder. Walk back to the town by going south, finding another tree path through the mountains. Save your game and restore health if you need to do so and then set out for the risen Temple. You'll see a tree path to the right of the town. Simply follow this track east as far as you can go, then go south through the trees, and take a few steps to the east and then go up through the trees again. When you reach the mountains surrounding the dark earth of the temple area, go east and north until you hit the mountains. Turn west and cross the dark earth into the compound. From here, simply walk up over the scorched land to the Temple. =============================================================================== TEMPLE OF EARTH ......................................................... *WK14 =============================================================================== ENEMIES Necromancer, Shade, Risen TREASURE Elixer, Kite Shield, 200 Gold MAP http://www.gamefaqs.com/iphone/638534-guardian-saga/faqs/63902 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'd recommend doing this in two stages. One to get all the treasure and then leave, heal up, buy anything extra you need and return to deal with the boss. The enemies can cause a lot of damage if you cannot kill them with two hits, and the boss is no pushover. Don't bother going left or right as these side rooms lead nowhere, although you can see a treasure chest from the right side, that's on the far side of the wall. In fact, that's the first target to reach. It's okay to use MP for escaping as you'll discover an extra Elixir that restores 20 MP. Hopefully with these instructions you won't need to bother using any torches. Walk straight ahead to find some stairs down to a dark dungeon. Walk down one step, and follow the path to the right, down, and right. You'll reach a T junction and should turn down, and then right after two steps. Continue along this passage heading right until you hit a wall. Go back one step, and up a passage. This takes you to a treasure chest with an [ELIXER]. Go back down this passage until you hit a wall. Turn to your right for one step, and then, down to the wall. Turn right, and follow this passage to the right and up (with some twists and turns) to reach some stairs that take you outside the main building. Walk up the path to reach the treasure chest you saw from the entrance room. This contains the [KITE SHIELD]. Use the Escape spell to leave the building and start again. (It's easier than back-tracking!) The next target involves another long walk starting out from the entrance stairs again. Go left, and make your way down the path, keeping close to the left wall and not taking any turnings. You'll reach some stairs at the lower wall. Go up down these stairs and follow the path up, right and up again, again hugging the left wall until you reach another set of stairs. This takes you back to the first floor. Go left, and up at the end of the upper wall, to find a treasure chest, This contains [200 GOLD]. Again, escape is easier than walking all the way back again. From the starting stairs again, walk right, and down, and right again. At the T junction turn up and take the first right turn, then the next left, which goes all the way up to the upper wall. Ignore side paths as they lead to dead ends. At the wall, go left to find the stairs to the boss. If you've not yet reached above level 12 this is going to very tough. At that level you get the Heal 2 spell as well as the boost to HP and MP and even at this level, it's still tough unless you have plenty of additional healing items: at least 4 Elixers and 4 Tonics. Even better to be level 15 as you will have a powerful Shock spell which does around 60 HP damage to this beast. o----------------------------o | BOSS - GUARDIAN OF EARTH | o----------------------------o Its ordinary attacks can do around 15-17 damage at lower levels and your M-Slash will only manage 25 HP hurt to it (at level 12). When it channels energy you'll know that a more powerful attack is due on the next turn. This is Quake and it will hurt you for about 30-35 HP. It also attacks using Earth-Splitter which will cause around 20-25 damage. It has around 700 HP so that's a lot of M-Slashes if you don't yet have Shock! You'll be rewarded with 840 experience 200 Gold, as well as the ORB OF EARTH. As usual, you'll be returned to the Temple of Balance to place the Orb on its pedestal. Your instructions are to go to the far south and find the Guardian of Fire. You should be at full health even if you didn't level up after this battle. Talk to a Bard for a little more detail: the town at the south is called Brim. =============================================================================== ROUTE TO BRIM ........................................................... *WK15 =============================================================================== ENEMIES Wastelander, Cactoid, Sandlurker, Risen Mage ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Head for Tallis again, and cross the bridge to the west. Walk all the way down and cross the bridge to the south. Journey to the east now, and walk down the long strip of land that has a sandy eastern edge. You'll come to three small bridges. Cross over these to reach the southern desert. As soon as you approach the bridges new enemies will appear. Follow the wider sandy road to the town of Brim. =============================================================================== BRIM .................................................................... *WK16 =============================================================================== SERVICES Bard, Inn (35G) LOCAL ENEMIES Wastelander, Cactoid, Sandlurker, Hobb, Risen Mage ITEM SHOP EQUIPMENT SHOP Herb ................ 15 G Basalt Blade ...... 1250 G Tonic ............... 75 G Silver Shield ..... 800 G Elixer .............. 50 G Silver Armor ...... 1500 G Torch ............... 25 G Celestial Shield .. 9999 G Recall Stone ........ 75 G ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ As well as shops there's a Magic Key building in the town, at the lower side, near the pond. The Bard's shop is to the right of this building and the Inn just above that. The equipment shop is to the right of the entrance. You can leave this town from the left or right. Inside the upper left house you can talk to a treasure hunter who mentions the Magic Key and gives you a cryptic clue about how to find it. It lies inside the Temple of Fire and he tells you to: 'PASS THROUGH FIRE AND WALK THE UNSEEN PATH' All becomes clear when you get there. The old man gives directions to the temple: to the south west. Don't be too quick to go to the Temple of Fire. Make certain you are at least at level 15, and ideally higher than that, and have all the best equipment from Brim. If you are short of cash, then get the armour rather than the sword because you will find a sword in the Temple. You won't be able to buy the Celestial Shield for a while yet. I bought the Silver Shield and used that for most of the rest of the game. This is the last shop in the game so there's nothing better to buy. HOBB ALERT! Spend some time fighting the local enemies, and especially Hobb. This is the best place to find him as it's easy to walk the short distance to the west from Brim. If you don't manage to kill Hob you'll still be able to kill other enemies and they all give quite good experience. The Risen Mage might drop an Elixer with a bit of luck. When you can kill these enemies easily enough, venture forth to the Temple of Fire to the south. Take a Recall Stone with you, and leave after finding the sword and the Magic Key, or before that, if you run out of health and MP. =============================================================================== TEMPLE OF FIRE .......................................................... *WK17 =============================================================================== ENEMIES Lava Lurker, Flame Sprite, Magma Golem TREASURE Flashing Blade, Tonic, Magic Key BRIM (with Magic Key) Gold Ring, Tonic x5, 500 Gold ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Walk south from Brim, staying at the west side of the town. Go south and then west and north over a bridge to the tower. After the usual welcome speech you need to turn on three switches to open stairs to the lower floor. Head left to turn on a switch and then straight ahead (from the middle of the main room) to turn on a second switch. Finally go right to turn the last switch and this opens a set of stairs down from the middle of the floor. This is a little maze type floor with lots of switches to turn on. Rooms are set between paths of fire. Each switch creates a path through the fire. Start by walking up and turning on the switch in the next area. This creates a path down at the lower edge of the room. Walk down and turn on the next switch and this creates a path up to the left side of the the floor. Walk up to the next switch and you'll spot a treasure chest that you cannot access. Turn on the switch and return to the lower section of the floor and walk back up the middle section to the upper side of the floor, past the stairs. Turn on this switch, which creates a path to the treasure chest at the left, as well to the final switch at the right. Walk back down and follow the path around to the left, next to the left wall. Go all the way up to the end and cross the bridge to the bit of floor with the treasure chest. Open it obtain the [FLASHING BLADE]. This is weaker in attack than the Basalt Blade, but it has the chance to score more critical attacks. It's a decent alternative if you cannot afford to buy the latter, and it's better for killing Hobbs! Return to the lower path and go all the way to the far right. Walk up and turn on the final switch. This opens a pathway to the right where you'll find stairs down to the next floor. Walk up to the large open area and go left and up again at the next open area. You'll find a treasure chest containing a [TONIC] sitting in the middle of the section of floor. Walk back down and turn left to see two pedestals with flames burning and a gap between them. Walk between them and a white tile forms beneath your feet. Go three steps to the left, then up for two steps, and left again for eight steps, bringing you to an island in the sea of fire. Another couple of steps up and you'll land safely. Open the treasure chest to obtain the [MAGIC KEY]. It's a good point at which to leave the Temple and use the Magic Key in Brim. There are other locations but it would require quite a walk to reach them, and some contains enemies that are too powerful until you're at higher levels. (You get a Warp spell at level 18 which makes visiting far-flung places much easier. ) BRIM TREASURE DETOUR! Back in Brim, walk down to the Bard's shop and go left to find the building with the locked doors. Go inside and use the Magic Key to access three treasure chests. The left one has the [GOLD RING] accessory that boosts the rate of critical attacks, the middle one has [TONIC x5], and the third contains [500 GOLD]. Equip the Gold ring and use the gold to buy additional healing items or equipment for the boss battle that's coming up next. ROUTE TO BOSS Back on the second basement floor, walk up and right, then up again, and left. (You can go right here, but there's nothing to find.) When you reach the next area, walk up and you'll meet the boss. Save your game first, and make sure you are at full health, or as near as a spare Herb or two will get you. o----------------------------o | BOSS - GUARDIAN OF FIRE | o----------------------------o The Guardian's ordinary attacks will hurt for about 15-18 HP depending on your level (17, and with the Silver Armor and Shield, but not the Celestial Shield). It also has a special attack called Fire-Breath that causes around 25-30 damage. When the message comes that it is saving its breath you know that a powerful assault is due on the next turn. This is called Eruption and it inflicts around 45 HP damage. As with the other bosses, the pattern of attacks and the frequency of the stronger attacks varies a lot. It takes quite a number of Shocks to kill it (13 by my last count) and you must use Shock because your sword strikes won't do enough damage, necessitating a much longer battle and more healing. Overall HP is around 1100. You get 1200 experience and 300 Gold as well as the Orb of Fire. As usual you're transported back to the Temple of balance to place the Orb, after which you return triumphant to Cantlin Castle... but.... =============================================================================== CANTLIN CASTLE (Jail and Magic Key) ..................................... *WK18 =============================================================================== ENEMIES Tiny Devil, Apparition, Demon Eye, Crypt Lord TREASURE Celestial Band, Elixer x2, X-Tonic, 500 Gold. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After defeating the Fire Guardian you'll be back at Cantlin Castle, inside the king's chamber where the game began. But it's not over yet! After things have calmed down, leave the hall and walk left from the castle guards. Go up to find some stairs leading down into the basement. Talk to the first soldier who tells you there's a new hole in the floor! It's in the bottom left cell. Jump down into a dark underground place. This dungeon is slightly different from the other ones because there are less narrow passages and more open areas. Enemies are strong with around 200 HP each so use Shock twice on each one, with a couple of sword strikes. Basically go down, starting at the right side of the stairs, and keeping to the right. Continue heading right until you hit a wall. Then, go DOWN. (Up leads to a narrow passage that's a dead end after a lot of walking!) Edge around a wall heading right until you hit another wall. From here, go down again, and right. When you reach the next corner, walk up a wide passage heading up to a large room. Head to the upper wall where where are two flaming torches on either side of a treasure chest. Open it to acquire the [CELESTIAL BAND] and get out of there! (If you use a Recall Stone instead of Escape you'll be taken back to Brim) Once outside the dungeon, leave the cells and walk all the way to the right and open the door with the Magic Key. Get the contents of four chests. The top left one has a [RECALL STONE x2], top right has [ELIXER x2], bottom right has an [X-TONIC] and the bottom left one contains [500 GOLD]. Nice! This is the room that's north from the weapon shop and there's a second magic key door that can be opened in the south wall of the room. Fight inside the Jail dungeon to level up to 18 when you learn the Warp spell. You need this to visit all the Magic Key locations, and the new dungeon near Mistport, without having to walk. Talk to a Bard for news about this dungeon. =============================================================================== COALFELL (Magic Key) .................................................... *WK19 =============================================================================== ENEMIES Imp, Globbat TREASURE Mizer's Clasp ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Warp to Dunrwall and walk north to return to Coalfell. The place is still mournful, with no sign of life, but that doesn't matter! You're here to investigate the magic key door. Go to the left wall to find it, and enter this dungeon. (It's actually the other part of the mines that you couldn't reach before.) Go straight forwards and then up and left, following the single path to reach a treasure chest. This contains the [MIZER'S CLASP] accessory. It increases the amount of gold dropped from enemies by 10%, which will be useful if you're still saving to obtain the Celestial Shield. (However, there was no difference in the gold dropped by the weak enemies in here.) =============================================================================== POLLUP'S TOMB (Magic Key) ............................................... *WK20 =============================================================================== ENEMIES Demon Eye, Tiny Devil, Apparition, Crypt Lord TREASURE 500 Gold, God Plate MAP: http://www.gamefaqs.com/iphone/638534-guardian-saga/faqs/63924 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Another bit of gossip from a Bard is that a treasure lies in the tomb of a forgotten hero. This is that building you couldn't enter, north west from Dortum. Warp to Dortum and walk west, crossing a small bridge. Head north, through the forested area, to reach a small white building. Use the key to unlock the door and enter the building. You'll see the chest you've come to get on the far side of the wall, but it's not quite as simple as just reaching over and picking it up. I'd recommend waiting until you're at level 20 before coming here so you can freely use Illume rather than spend money on Torches. Equip the Celestial Band to keep restoring MP. Go down the stairs into the dark dungeon. Cast Illume and you'll see stairs leading up to your left, but behind a wall. This dungeon has lots of stairs going up and down between two floors and finding the route can be awkward as there are some dead ends..Go down three steps from stairs to the wall, and then right, following the path up and around the corner, and then down. At the first junction go left to reach the stairs down. You start in the middles of the second floor. Don't go right and up or down as both routes lead to a dead end. Instead, walk left, around a corner, and up at the junction, to reach stairs in the upper left corner of this floor. They take you back to the first floor. This next section is simple as there's only one way to go, so there's no need to cast Illume. Walk down the passage and right at the corner, following the bottom wall until you reach more stairs down again. You're now at the bottom right corner of the second floor, and there's only one route. Go left, following the single passage, to find another set of stairs to climb down to the third basement. You're now in the middle of the floor. You can see a treasure chest up at the left side of this floor, but behind a wall. Walk up to the top wall, and go left to reach it. It contains a welcome [500 GOLD]. Return to the middle of the room and take the path to the left. This leads to another set of stairs up, which immediately takes you to another set of stairs. Go up and on the next floor just walk forwards to reach another set of stairs. This takes you to the room with the treasure chest! Open it to get [GOD PLATE]! Sounds impressive and it is. It boosts defence by 24 points and you regain some HP while you walk. Escape the dungeon or use a spare Recall Stone. (If you walk around on the floor with the treasure chest and equipped with the Celestial Ban you will recover MP, even though there are no enemies here.) =============================================================================== HAUNTED ISLE (MISTPORT) ................................................. *WK20 =============================================================================== ENEMIES Demon Eye, Apparition, Tiny Devil, Crypt Lord TREASURE Tonic x3, Heaven's Blade MAP: http://www.gamefaqs.com/iphone/638534-guardian-saga/faqs/63927 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Warp to Mistport and while you're here open the locked door in the building at the upper left of the town with the Magic Key. The left treasure chest contains [500 GOLD] and the right one has an [X-TONIC]. Speak with the sailor up the short path at the right of the captain who took you to the Water Temple. He'll offer to take you to this place. It's a single island to the north east from MistPort. Enter the cavern, and yep, it's another dark cave. Light a torch or cast Illume. The enemies are quite tough in here and some of them can hurt you badly. Use Tonics to heal and save your MP for Illume. You get this spell at Level 20 and that's a good point at which to come here. The spell doesn't last for all that long and you'll have to recast it if you want to see where you're going! Use Shock twice on the Crypt Lord to defeat him quickly. Keep a close watch on health all the time and a good supply of Tonics is advisable, but if you've already got the Celestial Band and God's Plate things will be easier. From the entrance stairs, go down to the wall, and left. Follow the twists in the path until you reach a junction. Turn right, and take two steps, then go up to the wall, right to the wall, and down three steps to find the stairs leading down. On the next floor you start out at the stairs in the upper left corner. Go right, all the way to the east wall, and walk down to reach a treasure chest. It contains [TONIC x3]. Use Illume or a torch and you'll see the stairs on the other side of the wall to the left. Walk back a few steps and turn left, edging around the wall a few more steps, then down, and back to the right to reach the stairs. Go down to the lower floor. From the stairs, walk right, and down, following the outer wall where the passage widens. At the wall, go right, and then up. (The other path is a dead end.) You'll spot a flame in the distance, and find two fire lamps on either side of a treasure chest! Yes it's the [HEAVEN'S BLADE]. This weapon has attack of 20 and a small chance of hitting twice. Simply use the Escape magic to leave the dungeon and sail back to MistPort, or warp to wherever you wish. =============================================================================== TEMPLE OF BALANCE ....................................................... *WK22 =============================================================================== ENEMIES Spectral Armsmaster, Metalwork Colossus, Dark Adept, Crusty, Deep Horror, Tidal Lord, Risen Knight, Vile Shadow, Necro Lord, Flame Prince, Magma Surger, Mantle Crusher TREASURE Berserker Belt, Protector ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ All that's left to do now is to visit the stricken Temple of Balance. But you may wish to spend some time levelling up Sir Knight and collecting enough gold for the Celestial Shield, although it's not essential, However I'd recommend that you have obtained the Celestial Band to restore HP as you move, and the God's Plate to heal up HP a little. This is a very long dungeon compared to the others in the game and you'll level up quite a bit inside here without even trying. You'll also need torches, or the Illume spell, as well as healing items. Buy Tonics and Elixers from Mistport, Dortum or Brim. Warp to Cantlin and walk west from here to reach the Temple. There are no enemies on the ground floor but nothing to find, so climb the central stairs to the next floor. It's the same story here, nothing and no-one around, so go up another floor. METAL FLOOR Enemies! These foes are not as strong as the ones inside the optional dungeons, so if you've explored there, this will be a piece of cake. They can all be destroyed with one blast of Shock magic (at level 20). Head down from the stairs and go left along the corridor, following the single path. (There's no point going in the other direction just now as the stairs lead up to dead end.) When you reach the T junction, turn down to the middle of floor and use the stairs. WATER FLOOR On the next floor, use both switches you see. The right switch sends a path over the water at your right, and the left one does the same for the left section of water. Return to the previous floor and walk left, heading all the way back around the path. Keep going to the right to access that second set of stairs. Now you can walk along the path you made over the water. Open the treasure chest for a [BEERSERKER BELT]. This boosts attack by 5 points but decreases defence by 2. Not worth it if you already have the Celestial Band healing MP! Although you can sell it off for 250 Gold. Retrace your steps, walking all the way back up to the water floor. This time, head left, over a small bridge, and then up to cross the over the water. Go right, and up, where you'll see another small bridge. Cross this and turn left, along the narrow path next to the upper wall of the floor. (It's the only way you can go.) Cross the next bridge and walk down to find two bridges taking you left. Again, there's no other choice as the path down is a dead end. You'll see the stairs that take you up to the next floor.By the way, the Tidal Lord is a rare enemy that appears on this floor. DARK FLOOR Take the stairs and you're inside a dark floor. Light a torch or cast Illume and walk down, and right. You'll be at a wider section of the floor. Go up to the top wall and walk right, along a narrow passage. Keep going until you hit the wall and you'll find a treasure chest if you edge down a few steps. It contains a [PROTECTOR] accessory. This boosts defence but cuts attack and you won't want to use it. Useful for selling though: for 250 Gold. Go back to the wider section of the floor and head to the right. Keep going and you reach a crossroads. Don't go down or up (dead ends) but take the right path. Keep going until you reach the outer wall and hug this wall, heading down, avoiding the turning off to the left (another dead end) and along the bottom wall, going to the left. You'll arrive at a more open area with a grey tiled floor surrounded with neat walls. stairs up in between two yellow block things. This takes you to a fire floor. FIRE FLOOR Walk up and left to find an open door. In here is a switch to turn on. Walk over the safe path to the far right of the floor where there's another room with a switch. This removes the paths, but raises sections of the floor. You can walk up the side of the room to another open door. You'll find yourself heading down the screen which is a little disconcerting, but gather your strength and keep walking left. Go down between the sets of flaming torches and you'll find another doorway. Head through this, and walk up to find yourself back at the middle of the fiery floor. Walk over the higher blocks to reach a room with some stairs up. STOP!!! THIS IS THE POINT OF NO RETURN!!! Leave the Tower if you need to recover health, buy more Tonics, or buy the Celestial Shield. (Sell off everything you don't need and you may find that you can afford it without doing too much extra fighting.) Otherwise, carry on up the stairs. You're in darkness! And you cannot light this darkness. Move forwards step by step and flames will show you're on the right path, until you reach the boss. (Just gives you a chance to save and heal up and is really quite an impressive way of introducing the big bad boss.) o-----------------------------o | BOSS - GUARDIAN OF BALANCE | o-----------------------------o Claw does around 20 damage at level 21 and his ordinary attacks do a little less than this. Shock causes him about 150 damage, but save your MP if you don't have spare Elixers. He only has around 450 HP so you can easily defeat him just with ordinary attacks. Three Shock attacks will kill the guardian and you don't get any rewards. BUT.... o-----------------------------o | BOSS - A CORRUPTED GUARDIAN | o-----------------------------o Yes, this is the real deal. Again, the guardian's physical attacks do around 20 HP damage. After three rounds or so it will gather darkness around it for a more powerful attack. Stay well healed when you see it prepare for this attack. It does this move twice in a row and then releases Final Eclipse which causes 78 HP of damage. It has a few other attacks as well: Corruption causes 32 HP damage, and Shadow Claw around 35-40. Use Tonics to heal up and save your MP for Shock. Shock causes about 150 HP of damage. Keep up the pressure with Shock and using Tonics to heal. Eventually you'll win! (If you have reached level 25 then use Condemn to kill it in just a few rounds.) You get 0 experience and 0 Gold! You're given the new title: Protector of the Guardians which is rather nice, considering you've been killing them all... MONSTER GUIDE ........................................................ *L05 =============================================================================== Enemies are listed in alphabetical order. I have only found a few that dropped anything, and most times that was a Herb. Some enemies have a special skill which will inflict roughly double the damage of a normal attack. Sometimes they will give a little more experience or gold, usually if killed with a critical attack, or with a single blow. HP is not shown in the game but as a general rule enemies are stronger, with much more HP, the further into the game they appear. Enemies inside the special optional dungeons have around 200 HP. When your levels are higher (level 20) easier enemies give LESS experience. I'm not sure how this works, but it seems to be about a third less, although the gold dropped stays the same. F.A.Q.S. ............................................................. *L08 =============================================================================== Q. Is this game any good? A. Yes, it is. It's simple, stripped down, yet engaging to play. It does exactly what you'd expect from an old-school 2D RPG. Q. Where's the best place to level up? A. Go to one of the Magic Key dungeons: Cantlin Jail, Pollup's Tomb or Haunted Isle. Enemies are the same in each of these dungeons and give the most experience. If you're in need of money as well, then kill Hobbs at the area to the west of Brim. Equip the Mizer's Clasp to give an additional 10% to cash. Hobbs give more experience than the enemies in those dungeons, but it takes a lot longer to level up on Hobbs since they runs away so often. Q. How do I kill Hobb? He keeps running away. A. Equip the Heaven's Blade sword for the chance to hit him twice, or the Flashing Blade (that aids critical attacks) and the Gold Ring that also boosts critical attacks. One critical attack will do 2 HP damage, as will a double hit. This means you only need him to stay around for one turn. Of course you might not generate these hits, but there's a better chance of doing so. Q. What's the highest level I can get? A. 25 is the maximum level at which you learn the Condemn spell and have 450 HP and 100 MP. After this you won't gain any more experience. Q. Help! My screen froze when trying to go to the next page on the menu screen. A. This happened to me quite a few times, both in shop menus and when attempting to move to the next screen for an item or spell. Touch cancel or any other different option and try again. It will "unfreeze". Q. My cousin/brother/sister wants to play it, but I don't want to lose my save file and the starting screen doesn't appear. What can I do? A. Switch off the iPad to shut down the game. When you restart, select New Game from the menu. You can start again with a different name for Sir Knight and use another of the three save slots. Q. Where is the Treat Bag? A. I finally found out about this missing item thanks to Benzonia. The developer ran a special Halloween promotion where townspeople were dressed up and there were Jack-o-lanterns scattered throughout the kingdom. Opening these pumpkins rewarded players with treats and a Halloween-themed special accessory: the Treat Bag. This was found in a pumpkin in Brim and DOES NOT APPEAR IN LATER VERSIONS OF THE GAME! =============================================================================== XIII.
