Introduction And General Information | \==++====++====++====++====++====<<##0##>>====++====++====++====++====++==/ \==++====++==/ \==++====++==/ My name is Robert Allen Rusk and I am a hardcore gamer with about 30+ years of gaming experience. I am an ex-gametester (Broderbund Software, LucasArts Games, Point Of View Computing) and an ex-arcade attendant (Namco Cyberstation - Pier 39, San Francisco, CA). I also own multiple systems such as the Sega Dreamcast, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Atari Jaguar, PlayStation 1 and 2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I started writing guides in 2003 because I felt it was something I could do utilizing my writing skills gained in college and gametesting along with my passion for vidgames. Over time I have honed my overall writing and organization skills plus my creative thinking skills. Additionally, I have extended the play value of the games I have written guides and FAQs for many times over plus I have received many letters from all over the world. I am also what one may call an RGB Analog Video enthusiast. I hack most of my game consoles to try to get the best possible video from them and that usually involves tapping into the RGB Analog video signals and using them on the right monitors to achieve my desires. To this end I became a member of the GamesX.com mod forum and I post on their "RGB + Video Discussions" forum area from time to time. In addition, I am a member of the X-Otic Computer Systems of San Antonio (www.xcssa.org), a group who specializes in Linux, Mac, and other systems. We are also a group of hackers and electronics enthusiasts. I am also a regular forum poster at GameFAQs, an occasional poster at AtariAge, Digital Press, GTA Forums, and Video Game Saga. I am also a member of The MoFaT (a members only message board set up by "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" players who met on the Vice City message boards at GameFAQs). Outside of gaming, my interests include "Godzilla" (I have been a G-Fan since the age of ten) and "Red Dwarf" (I own all eight series plus the "Back to Earth" mini-series on DVD). I am also a long time soundtrack collector with many titles in my possession. As far as favorite sports teams go, my teams are the San Antonio Spurs (NBA) [the local team], the Denver Broncos (NFL) [although I live in Texas, I am originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado] and the Air Force Falcons (NCAA Football). This guide was constructed using TextWrangler on a 1.5Ghz Single Core Intel Mac Mini. I view my work in Safari to help in seeing how it would look on the web and correct format errors. I also play "The Darkness II" on a Viewsonic A70 RGB monitor using the Xbox 360 VGA cable. /=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN1. About The Guide | \=========================================================================/ \=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=/ Welcome to my guide for "The Darkness II"! In this guide you will find a lot of useful information in a highly organized format that you can use to get the most out of the game. Quotes taken from readers' e-mail are presented "as is" and may include spelling and grammatical errors. The main emphasis of this guide is to provide a straightforward way to complete the game as well as acquire all of the Accomplishments (explained later). This means finding all of the Relics and playing through the Vendettas and Hit List sections of the game. Although this guide is meant for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game this can also be used for the PC version even though I have no information on it. /=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN2. About "The Darkness II" | \=========================================================================/ \=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=/ "The Darkness II" is based on an obscure comic book published by Top Cow Productions. An odd choice for a licensed based vidgame. The first game was made by Starbreeze Studios, the studio that did the amazing "The Chronicles of Riddick" games. The first Darkness game had wonderful graphics, very good story telling and cutscenes (this also includes the scenes that play as the game loads a new area - a nice touch), and very good music. But, just like with the Riddick games, it was a little short and easy (even at the Hard difficulty). In addition, this game was heavily criticized for its lackluster Multiplayer. Even with these weaknesses "The Darkness" is a worthy title to add to one's Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 game collection. "The Darkness II" was made by Digital Extremes and, as a result, the sequel is a very different beast than its predecessor. The graphics are of the cell shaded variety instead of the realistic tones used in the first game. This makes sense since the game is based on a comic book. The combat is much more visceral now that you can use your Demon Arms and firearms in combination. There is no standard multiplayer but you can do co-op missions online in the Vendetta and Hit List modes. But the game isn't without its flaws. The main issue is length. Some players have managed to blow through the main game in as little as four hours and others have managed to obtain all of the Accomplishments in as little as a day. This makes the first game a 100-hour RPG by comparison. And there is no tactical variety either. In the first game you can either shoot your enemies with your firearms or hang back and use the Creeping Dark power to stealth kill them. There is no stealth in "The Darkness II". You basically go from area to area and kill people up close with your Demon Arms and guns. And the game is very linear which also makes the game even shorter than it already is. There is very little to explore - just enough to hide the Relics so they are not always in plain sight. "The Darkness II" in not necessarily a bad game. But it feels inferior to the first game. Whether or not it is worth the sixty bucks to purchase new depends on how much of a fan of "The Darkness" you are. With that said, let's move on to the next chapter..... /=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN3. In this mode you will be able to play any chapter and in any order with all of the upgrades you have accumulated. It is recommended that you max out all of your upgrades before tackling the harder difficulty levels. /=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN7. Dark Essence | \=========================================================================/ \=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=/ Every enemy that you encounter has something called Dark Essence. It is dark energy that is used to help upgrade yourself. You gain it by killing enemies and doing certain actions such as destroying lights. You also gain more Essence Points by killing enemies with your Darkness powers as opposed to using standard weapons. In addition, the tougher the enemy, the more Essence Points you gain by killing them - especially by Execution. You also obtain additional Essence Points by finding Relics that are placed in most of the chapters. These Relics are worth 300 Essence Points each so taking the time to find them will allow you to maximize your upgrades sooner. These Relics also add to your knowledge of The Darkness and The Brotherhood. The Relics are easy to spot. They are surrounded by glowing candles and various offerings such as bottles of wine and money. There are twenty nine of these Relics and there are two Accomplishments related to finding them. /=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN8. The Darkness Explained | \=========================================================================/ \=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=/ The Darkness is a parasitic creature, "old as time", that is passed down from generation to generation within a given family line and makes itself known to the host, which is a first born male, on the host's 21st birthday. And it cannot allow the host to die until it is the appropriate time. It is a very powerful being and gives you all kinds of incredible powers. But it is also a dark and malevolent beast who has consumed many a soul during its lifetime. Now to explain its capabilities..... /=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN9. The Darkness Powers | \=========================================================================/ \=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=/ In this chapter I go over your powers and various information related to them: 0=======0 | Lights \ 0=====================================> This is your main weakness. When you are near a strong light source then The Darkness will react violently and retract. In addition, the light will obscure your vision and hearing and you will not regain any health and be able to recharge your Darkness Powers until the light source is destroyed or you get far enough away from it. You will gain one Essence Point for any light that you destroy. However, there are some lights that cannot be destroyed and will be marked as such if you place your crosshair on them. Obviously they need to be avoided. In addition, you will find what are known as Portable Lights. You cannot destroy them but are powered by an individual Generator which is usually located nearby. Follow the bright electrical line to it and destroy it to knock out the light. 0===========0 | Demon Arms \ 0=====================================> When The Darkness is manifested then your Demon Arms will appear to either side of you. They both look different from each other and perform different tasks. The left Demon Arm is used for grabbing and throwing. If an object has a purple glow or a white dot on it then it can be grabbed or destroyed. You can also use it to grab Ammo Boxes, Weapons, and Relics from a distance. It can also be used for destroying objects like doors. For example, grab the door then use the Eat Heart button to pull the door apart. To throw and object then grab the object to be thrown, like a Pole, then tap the same button to throw it. You can also throw people to kill them instead of Executing them. You can also use Car Doors and use them as shields. Grab one from a car and it will automatically provide some temporary cover. You can also throw them to slice your enemies in half. The right Demon Arm is used for close-up attacking. Use the Demon Arm Slash button in conjunction with the Right Analog Stick to perform a melee attack. In addition, you can upgrade the Arms through the Talent Shrine. 0=================0 | Weakened Enemies \ 0=====================================> When an enemy is weakened then you will see his Heart and vascular system glow through his skin. This tells you that he is close to death. This will also will allow you to do..... 0===========0 | Executions \ 0=====================================> When an enemy is weakened enough then you have the option to perform an Execution. Grab him with your left Demon Arm then use a face button to perform the Execution. You can use the Execution to regain health, get additional ammo, speed up recharging, and create a Darkness Shield. However, when you start the game, you can only do a regular Execution which has no additional gain other than to kill your enemy. The other types of Executions need to be bought from the Talent Shrine. An Execution will also give you more Essence Points than by any other kind of attack. It is also important to point out that you cannot obtain the Heart of a person that you have Executed which leads to the following..... 0==============0 | Eating Hearts \ 0=====================================> This is one of the more important things you do in the game. When you kill an enemy in a way that leaves the body somewhat intact then you can Eat the enemy's Heart. This allows you to restore your health and gain Essence Points (anywhere from five to fifteen depending on the enemy). 0=======0 | Health \ 0=====================================> As noted earlier there is a health meter located in the lower left corner of your screen. It is divided into quarters. If you are injured then stay out of harms way for a bit and your health will recover. But it will only recover to the nearest quarter mark. The only way to fully recover your health is to Eat the Hearts or perform Health Executions of your enemies. If you die then you will restart from a previous checkpoint. 0======0 | Swarm \ 0=====================================> When you acquire this power from the Talent Shrine then you can use it to distract and harm your enemies. What this is is a swarm of various insects created from The Darkness. It only lasts a short time but can often be enough for you to dispatch your enemies before they recover. You can improve the power and duration of the Swarm through the Talent Shrine. 0===============0 | Gun Channeling \ 0=====================================> When you acquire this power from the Talent Shrine then you can use it to channel some of The Darkness through your standard weapons without any ammo being used. Gun Channeling can quickly kill your enemies but also destroys the body thus denying you their Hearts. You can improve the power and duration of Gun Channeling through the Talent Shrine. 0===========0 | Black Hole \ 0=====================================> Unlike with the first game this power is brought instead of earned. When purchased then, after you kill an enemy, a Black Hole may randomly appear instead of a Heart. When used this will quickly clear out the nearby area of enemies. The bad thing about this power is that it appears at random. Sometimes it will appear when you don't need it or when you need a regular Heart instead. In addition, it also disintegrates those who get caught up in it so you can't get the Heart from the bodies. 0=======0 | Knobby \ 0=====================================> In the previous game you had the option of sending out Darklings to assist you. However, in this game, you are given just one. His name is Knobby and he is your personal assistant who will help you in disposing of enemies. He mainly acts to distract them so you can kill them easier. He is also un-killable. Even if he is killed off by something, such as light, then he will simply reappear somewhere else and rejoin the fight. One of his other powers is the ability to let you control him but only during certain chapters. You use the Demon Arm Grab button to Execute and the Demon Arm Slash button to slash something. You can also obtain additional Essence Points if you kill an enemy while Knobby is attacking him. He will also point the way should you get lost. /=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN10. Weapons | \=========================================================================/ \=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=/ In addition to your Darkness Powers you can also use standard firearms which are most often dropped by your enemies. The D-Pad allows you to switch through them. Your smaller weapons are controlled by the D-Pad Left and Right. Your larger weapons are controlled by the D-Pad Up. You can dual-wield your smaller weapons by pressing D-Pad Down. You cannot dual-wield larger weapons like Shotguns. If you're using a single weapon then you can aim with it by using the Fire Left button. You can gain additional ammo for your weapons by either taking them from dropped weapons, performing Hitman Executions, or by finding the Ammo Boxes that you will encounter throughout the game. You can also upgrade them through the Talent Shrine. Listed below are the different weapon types: 0========0 | Pistols \ 0=====================================> >>M1911, Cobra, Desert Eagle ************************** Notes: This weapon is mainly used for close combat situations and shooting out lights. The Cobra is probably the most powerful of the Pistol but fires slow. The Desert Eagle provides a nice balance of power and speed. 0=================0 | Sub-Machine Guns \ 0=====================================> >>Micro Uzi, HK Ump, MP7 ********************** Notes: These rapid fire sub-machine guns are pretty nice in a tight situation. I believe they all fire at the same rate but the Micro Uzi appears to be weaker that the other two. The MP7 appears to be the overall best of the Sub-Machine Guns so pick that one up when you can. 0=========0 | Shotguns \ 0=====================================> >>Defender, Sawed-Off, Model 1887 ******************************* Notes: These pretty powerful weapons are only good at close range and can only fire one shot at a time. 0===============0 | Assault Rifles \ 0=====================================> >>Kalashnikov, Carbine, Striker ***************************** Notes: These are the best overall weapons in the game. They have solid power, good rate of fire, and are accurate at medium to long range distances. Always pick one up when you find them. Especially the Carbine since it has very little kickback to throw off your aim. /=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN11. Talent Shrines and Talents | \=========================================================================/ \=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=/ Every so often as you progress through the game you will encounter glowing purple blobs floating above the ground. These are the Talent Shrines and they are used to upgrade your powers. You use the Dark Essence that you have collected by killing enemies and doing certain actions to purchase upgrades. When you encounter your first Shrine then you need to purchase the Eat Hearts Talent, for 50 Essence Points, before you can purchase other Talents. It is also important to point out that you can't purchase certain Talents unless you buy the one before it in the branch. As for what Talents to go after first, it is best to go after the Gun Channeling and Swarm Talents first then the Execution and Combat Belt Tiers. This is because the Gun Channeling and Swarm are very useful against groups of tough enemies and the sooner you get those and some of their upgrades the easier the game will be. There are a total of thirty seven Talents and are divided into four Tiers: 0============================0 | Gun Channeling / Swarm Tier \ 0====================================================> >>Gun Channeling ************** Cost: 1,000 Essence Points. The Brotherhood | \=========================================================================/ \=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=/ In the early stages of the game you will be facing off against street level Goons who are not very strong and can be easily killed off. But, later on, you will then deal with The Brotherhood, a secret society who want The Darkness. These guys are much tougher than the Goons because they use Dark Essence to enhance their abilities even though they don't have The Darkness itself. They have honed their black magic skills for thousands of years and use them in a variety of ways. In addition, they also have a weird echo inflection in their voices that makes them more distinct (It also reminds me of Dr. Carrol from the game "Perfect Dark"). They also have a nasty tendency to use Flash Bang Grenades which create a temporary light source to blind you and cause the retraction of your Darkness powers. There are several types of enemies that you will face: >>Soldier ******* This is your basic grunt type. He wears a black helmet made from Darkness Armor that also covers his eyes. He usually carries a Pistol but can also carry Shotguns, Sub-Machine Guns, and Assault Rifles. >>Clubber ******* This guy doesn't carry a firearm but that doesn't make him any less dangerous. He has some Darkness Armor on one side and will charge at you with a large club-like weapon. He can easily disposed of with your Demon Arm since he will try to kill you up close. >>Spotlight ********* These guys aren't very strong or armored but they are one of the more dangerous enemies you will face. This is mainly because of the small but very powerful mini-spotlight they wear on their right shoulder. It is very important that you deal with these guys first when they appear since they will cause The Darkness to retract until you either kill them or blow out their light. >>Whipper ******* These large guys are armored just like the Clubbers but approach much more slowly. However, they have a much different attack than the others. They have a large Whip which they spin above their heads. They don't do much damage but what they often do is pull weapons out of your hands. This becomes annoying in the middle of a firefight. >>Runner ****** These guys are more armored than the usual Soldier. But that's not what makes them so different. It is the fact that that they can quickly run from one area to another in a puff of purple smoke. They can also pass through walls when they run. They will usually run away from you when you try to shoot at them or melee attack them. Their armor and running ability makes them dangerous. They can either be Clubbers, use Shotguns, or Assault Rifles. >>Knight ****** This is the most dangerous enemy The Brotherhood has. He hides behind a Riot Shield that is covered with Darkness Armor. On top of that he is also heavily armored. And he isn't just going to stand there and fire at you from behind his shield. He will also rush up and smack you with it and that can cause some serious damage. /=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=\ /=========================================================================\ | >GEN13. Main Story Accomplishments | \=========================================================================/ \=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=/ Listed in this chapter are all of the Main Story Accomplishments that can be acquired for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of "The Darkness II". Now, for the sake of terminology and to lessen confusion within this guide, Accomplishments are what are known as Achievements on the Xbox 360 and PC versions and Trophies on the PS3 version. To those who do not know, Achievements and Trophies can be considered a different kind of scoring system. Each Xbox 360 game has 1000 Achievement Points that can be obtained. However, the PS3 Trophies do not have a point system attached to them although the numbers of Trophies attained can be considered a way of keeping score (as well as add some kind of experience points in the PlayStation Network system). In addition, the Trophies are split into Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum classes. Some Accomplishments can be acquired by simply playing through the game. Others can be obtained by doing certain objectives outside of normal gameplay. To many gamers this adds to the replay value of each game and gives them bragging rights on Xbox Live or PlayStation Network where these scores are posted. One annoyance to Accomplishments is that, depending on the game, they are split between Single Player and Multiplayer modes. So, if you do not have the necessary connections to get on-line, then you most likely cannot get into multiplayer matches to obtain the Multiplayer Accomplishments. Thankfully, all of the Accomplishments for "The Darkness II" can be acquired in single player mode. Many of the Accomplishments within "The Darkness II" are easy to get. Some require more work. In this chapter are all of the Accomplishments that can be acquired in the Main Story. The Accomplishments for the Vendettas and Hit List will be listed in those sections of the guide. <0+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+<<##0##>>+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+0> >>2 Guys 1 Pole ************* Description: Kill 2 enemies with one javelin. But I do have some side notes for those who play through the highest difficulty setting which is *DON*. Even though I point out from time to time about eating Hearts and acquiring ammo it is assumed that every available Heart is eaten and that all ammo is acquired from dropped weapons. Because of the randomness of the Black Holes I don't talk a lot about them within the guide. Always try to use them when they appear, especially with large groups of enemies. I also point out the locations of Talent Shrines. This guide also points out the locations of all of the Relics and most, if not all, of the Ammo Boxes. This guide is also designed to help you acquire all of the Accomplishments in the game. Now, with all of that said, it is time to start the main portion of the guide..... /==++====++==\ /==++====++==\ /==++====++====++====++====++====<<##0##>>====++====++====++====++====++==\ | >DKN2. The Main Story | \==++====++====++====++====++====<<##0##>>====++====++====++====++====++==/ \==++====++==/ \==++====++==/ It is now several years after the events of "The Darkness". Jackie had lost control of The Darkness but somehow managed to regain control of himself. While he was doing this he was solidifying control of the Franchetti crime family as the Don, a position he was asked to assume by Jimmy the Grape. He now lives in a gorgeous penthouse Mansion. Aunt Sarah, who was living in a cozy apartment in the Lower East Side before, now lives with him and has her own room. Jimmy the Grape and Butcher Joyce, who were valuable allies in the first game, are now part of Jackie's empire. Jackie also has multiple loyal associates working for him. His right hand man, Vinnie, has just set him up with a date at a fancy Italian Restaurant. And this opens up the first chapter of the game..... 0=-=-=-=-=-=0 / Chapter One \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >CHP1. "Dinner Out" 0 \-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-/ \ Chapter One / 0=-=-=-=-=-=0 As the game begins then you will exit your limo and enter the Restaurant. Vinnie will then lead you to a table where a pair of twins await you. At this point the three of you engage in small talk. Suddenly, one of the twins is shot from behind and a large chunk of her face is blown off. Then a van crashes into the Restaurant which kills the other twin and severely injures Jackie. Vinnie then comes to Jackie's aid and hands him a Pistol. Then Vinnie starts dragging Jackie and this leads into the: >>"One Man Army" Accomplishment ***************************** As noted earlier you need to kill 25 enemies in the Restaurant without dying or restarting the checkpoint. At the Thug difficulty level it is fairly easy to get this Accomplishment. It usually takes one hit to kill a Goon so you can go from target to target quickly. As you are dragged along then you should get those in front of you before turning left to find a lot more trying to shoot you. Eventually the two of you stop behind a bar to let Vinnie catch his breath. While you are at the bar then you will be shot at by more Goons. Shoot the group of four Goons while aiming under the bar so Vinnie can give you a second pistol so he can continue to drag you along. As he drags you to the kitchen then a lot more Goons show up. If you got most of the Goons prior to this part then you should get the Accomplishment. If you don't get it then you can save it for the New Game+ Mode. When you get inside the kitchen then Vinnie will try to open the nearby door. But the door won't budge. Worse, the stoves are leaking gas. The Goons outside know this and throw a Molotov into the kitchen to detonate the gas. This injures you further and leads into the next chapter..... 0=-=-=-=-=-=0 / Chapter Two \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >CHP2. "Payback" 0 \-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-/ \ Relics - 2 / \ Chapter Two / 0=-=-=-=-=-0 0=-=-=-=-=-=0 0============0 | Section One \ 0=====================================> Jackie is now severely injured and The Darkness is taunting him into using it to save his life. Jackie is trying hard to resist. He then starts to crawl along the floor toward a hole that has been blown into the kitchen wall by the explosion. He can see a weird looking man who remarks about Jackie strength. This man also tells someone to keep pushing Jackie. As he walks away then another Goon shows up to taunt Jackie. As you crawl closer to him The Darkness will continue to taunt Jackie. When you reach the Goon then you have to Release The Darkness to continue. When you do that then The Darkness attacks all of the nearby Goons and slaughters them. After being let back down then make your way to Vinnie who is laying against a trash bin. Apparently your crew knows about your powers as Vinnie remarks that it is about time you got your "thing" back. Talk to Vinnie and he will tell you about the rest of your crew waiting at the front of the Restaurant. After this then head into the alley. Along the way you will go through a simple tutorial that includes the use of your Objectives, controls, and various attacks. As you go through the alley then you will encounter a vision of Jenny who disappears before you can get much closer. After that then go to the nearby door and destroy the Electrical Box to open it. From here, continue inside and attack the two Goons while following the suggestions the game gives you. Grab the M1911 on the stand by the door and attack the Goon that opens the door. Grab his gun and head outside. Here you will deal with several Goons who will use the cars for cover. You can shoot them with your Pistols but you can get more Essence Points by grabbing Car Doors and slicing them with it. However, at Thug difficulty, it is better still to go up to each of the Goons and perform an Execution to get maximum Essence Points. At this point in the game you have just a standard Execution so, if your health gets low, then kill a Goon in another fashion to obtain his Heart. Go down the street killing the Goons and grabbing their dropped weapons. At the end of the street is a doorway. When you get near the doorway then the Restaurant will explode knocking you inside. You will then be cornered by a Goon who stands over you. But Knobby appears in the ceiling and sneak attacks the Goon to rescue you. After getting up then go to Knobby to acquire a Micro Uzi. Duel wield it with the Pistol then continue to the door you need to destroy. After you go through the door then you should see your first Relic: ============== ++[Roanoke's Bane]++ ============== After acquiring the Relic then follow Knobby to a Talent Shrine. Use it to purchase your first Talent, Eat Hearts. And this will give you the following: >>"Jackie's Got Talent" Accomplishment ************************************ Buy the Combat Belt talent then leave the Shrine. Then eat the nearby Heart and follow Knobby to the gate. After going through the gate then proceed forward to the truck and pallets where you will be attacked by three Goons. Execute them to obtain maximum Essence Points. From here, head into the nearby alley to find several more Goons. Deal with them using the same methods then head into the street. Turn left and go past the van to find a couple of Goons. Execute them then proceed forward. Here you will finally meet up with your men who are under attack by several Goons. You can either shoot them up from afar or use the Car Doors, and there are plenty here, to slice them up. You can also go up to them and Execute each one of them. After killing these guys then head to the Subway entrance. Shoot the two lights near the entrance before going down into the Canal Street Station. 0============0 | Section Two \ 0=====================================> After going down and reaching the end of the hallway then you will enter this section of the station. Destroy the light then the door to proceed further. Go down the hallway and destroy lights. As you near the end then you will enter a waiting area with two Goons. Execute them then proceed further into the subway. As you near a corner then you will find a single Goon. As you kill him then Knobby will kill another one ahead of you. After dealing with these two then take the stairs down where you will find a pair of Goons on the platform. However, don't fight them yet. Instead turn around and go behind the stairs where you will find a another Relic: ============= ++[Yhwh's Lament]++ ============= Head back to the main platform and kill the two Goons. Proceed further and three more will show up. Kill them in any manner but shoot out the overhead lights to make things easier for yourself. Proceed further down the platform and you will find another Talent Shrine inside a connecting hallway under the stairs. Purchase the Health Execution upgrade. Now you can Execute people almost exclusively at close range because you can get extra health when you kill them this way. You no longer need to worry as much about Eating Hearts to regain health. Go past this point to find three more Goons including one with a Defender Shotgun. As you deal with them then you will be shot at across the way by another trio of Goons who are standing on the tracks. However, as you get near them then a train will come along and run them over. On the platform beyond them is another trio of Goons. Go and eat the Hearts of those who got run over then jump onto the platform to battle these punks. As you Execute them then a signal will be called to some others who then blow up the tunnel ahead. After finishing up with this group then go down onto the tracks and head towards the damaged tunnel. As you get near the spot then another train will barrel along and you take refuge by the service door as it crashes into the damaged area. Then jump back down and proceed through the destroyed subway train. After going through the train then you will enter the damaged tunnel. A short distance later then you will encounter six more Goons. Deal with them the same way as you did with the others then climb up an angled piece of concrete and jump onto the tracks. As you proceed further then you will see another vision of Jenny. Unfortunately, you will also be run over by a train which will lead you into..... 0==============0 | Section Three \ 0=====================================> You will awaken inside some kind of hospital. As you gain your bearings then head down the hallway where you will find Johnny Powell. Talk to him and he will sound pretty nutty. Continue forward and you will find Tony, one of your men. He too doesn't make much sense. Continue to the door and you will finally come to just as you are finishing off some Goon. However, before you do that, you can go ahead and explore your home. You can listen to various conversations and have fun with the Jukebox which will allow you to listen to most of the licensed music in the game. Jackie really has some nice digs here. Seriously. When you are done exploring then head upstairs. At the top of the stairs you can see a hallway to your left which leads to your Bedroom. But don't go there yet. Instead, do a 180-degree turn left around the railing and go through the open door ahead. This is Aunt Sarah's Bedroom. Angle left to find a Relic on the small table: =================== ++[The True Revelation]++ =================== After acquiring this then head to your Bedroom. As you go down the hallway then you will overhear a conversation between Butcher Joyce and Leo. Butcher is happy that you got your "thing" back. He feels that nobody else stands a chance when you use your powers. Continue down the hallway and enter your Bedroom. Light a candle for Jenny and Aunt Sarah will show up at the doorway. Talk to her and she will go on about you not letting go of Jenny. After the end of the conversation then talk to Vinnie who is standing at the top of the stairs. Send him to find Johnny Powell and Vinnie will tell Jackie to go to his Office. In the Office you will find Jimmy the Grape. Jimmy will tell Jackie that several places of his empire were attacked and that he too is happy that Jackie got his "thing" back. Makes it better to kick some "righteous ass". After talking to him then follow him to the rest of your crew. From here then head to the back of the Pool Hall. As you walk to the back entrance The Darkness will manifest and Knobby will appear beside you. Near the doorway is a Talent Shrine. Then destroy the door and grab the nearby Pool Stick before entering. This also leads into: >>"2 Guys 1 Pole" Accomplishment (1) ********************************** This is a good place to go after this Accomplishment. There are usually enough Goons to line up a couple and impale them with the Pool Stick. And there are plenty of additional sticks if you miss or only kill one Goon. If you can't do it here then there is another good place to try it later in the game. Since you don't have any guns when you enter into the Pool Hall then you will have to use Pool Sticks to impale the Goons from afar and the Demon Arm to Execute any who try to club you. After dealing with them then explore the area to obtain weapons. Then go inside the small arcade room to find a Defender and a Relic: =============== ++[Sister of Light]++ =============== After acquiring the Relic then head upstairs. Destroy the door you find which will cause Swifty to run off. You will then deal with three Goons. Just go inside and Execute them. On a nearby table is an Ammo Box and a couple of Micro Uzis. Acquire ammo and proceed into the hallway. Go through the door at the end of the hallway to get outside. Drop down to ground level and grab a nearby Car Door. Then turn the next corner to face several Goons who will be firing at you with multiple weapons. The best thing to do is to shoot them with your weapons while using the Car Door as a shield. Another option, at Thug difficulty, is to just go up to each of them and Execute them for maximum Essence Points. After killing them then grab ammo from their dropped weapons and pick up a Pole sitting on the ground. Go past where they were to find another Talent Shrine. But, before using it, then turn left and proceed to the end of the ruined bus to find another Relic: ============ ++[The Dark Man]++ ============ And being that this is also your fifth Relic collected then you should get the following: >>"Mmmm Essence!" Accomplishment ****************************** From here then turn around and head back to the Talent Shrine to upgrade. Then go around the end of the ruined bus and proceed up the path. After dropping down then you should see three more Goons ahead of you. Use the Pole to impale one of them then use your firearms on the other two (or use the nearby Car Doors to slice them if you prefer). Drop down into the lower section and you will be approached by a Bat wielding Goon. Blow out any nearby lights then continue up the path to find some more Poles. Grab one of them and continue forwards to find a Goon on the top of a scaffold. Impale him then go back and grab another Pole. Use it to impale the other Goon on the scaffold. Go up further to encounter a couple of more Goons. Execute them then head into the alley. Shoot out the two lights before approaching and destroying the gate. Proceed up the alley and to the scaffold to go into the next area. 0============0 | Section Two \ 0=====================================> Just after you enter this area then you will encounter another Talent Shrine. Upgrade if you can then proceed to an Ammo Box and a Defender. After acquiring ammo then drop down into a larger area and you must now deal with Swifty who is inside a large demolition Crane. This sets up your first Boss Fight. You need to destroy the Crane and chase off Swifty to proceed further. You will see the Boss Meter appear at the top of the screen. It is divided into thirds. As you are dodging the ball that Swifty swings around, Knobby will find Propane Tanks that you can use to destroy the Crane. Grab them when he gives you one then throw it at the Crane to damage it. You can also damage the Crane with firearms but it will take a lot of ammo to do any serious harm. Unfortunately, while you are dealing with Swifty, then you will also have to deal with his men who will come down to make more trouble for you. In one corner of the area is a stack of bricks. Duck behind that and use it for cover as you pick off some of Swifty's men with your firearms. Then get out of cover long enough to grab a Propane Tank and throw it at Swifty. When you get the Crane's health down to about a third then Swifty will turn on the lights which will affect your Darkness Powers. Continue picking off Swifty's men and throwing Propane Tanks until the Crane is destroyed and Swifty runs off. **Info: Don Difficulty (New Game+) ******************************** When doing this at this difficulty level then you should have all of your upgrades and use Gun Channeling to deal with the Crane from the safe haven behind the stack of bricks. Execute the remainder of Swifty's guys, acquire ammo from the three Ammo Boxes laying about the area, then head up the Crane and drop down into the next area. You should find a gate with a light that you need to destroy. However, head into the nearby Construction Trailer to find another Relic: =========== ++[The Trinity]++ =========== Then head back to the gate, destroy the light then the gate to proceed further. Head to the next door to encounter another vision of Jenny who is cleaning up some tables inside a Diner. After she greets you then Sit with Jenny. She will talk to you for a bit then start dancing with you. This also leads into the following: >>"Romantic" Accomplishment ************************* At some point during the dance you will be given the option to kiss her. Do *NOT* kiss her, just let the song play out. At the end Jackie will try to kiss her anyway but you will get this easy Accomplishment as he makes his move. Follow her to the next door and you will be brought back to reality. This, of course, upsets Jackie. Proceed to the next door and destroy it to enter the next area. 0==============0 | Section Three \ 0=====================================> Follow Knobby to the next area to find a couple of unarmed Goons. Shoot out the light above the door then Execute them. Then proceed around the nearby van where you will find a ladder near the shipping door. Shoot out the nearby light and proceed up the ladder to the roof. You will then encounter your first Portable Light. Destroy the nearby Generator then the gate to proceed further. Go up the stairs, shoot out the light, then drop down from the pipes. You should see another Portable Light. Destroy the Generator, which should be to the right, and you will be attacked by two Goons. Execute them both then destroy the next gate. Head up the stairs and destroy the light at the top. Just ahead of you is a hatch that drops down into the Warehouse. In the nearby corner is a Talent Shrine. Upgrade if you can then drop down through the hatch. Proceed to the next door which opens up into the Warehouse. You will be on the upper level and there are several Goons below and to the left. Start off by shooting out the lights in front of you. You can shoot the Goons from afar with your firearms as well as grabbing nearby objects and throwing them. You can also go down and Execute them if you want. Two of them were carrying Kalashnikovs so grab them if you wish. Inside the small office by the stairs is a Defender. On the uppel level, in the corner, is a door that must be opened by destroying the Electrical Box. This leads into another large section of the Warehouse. You will then be attacked by multiple Goons. Some of them will take position on the catwalk opposite from the door, others will be down below. Stay at the door and pick off the Goons with your firearms. Then peek through and shoot out all lights that you can from your position. Some of the Goons will be by a conveyor belt below. Take them down with your firearms. Another option is to grab the Engine Blocks that are passing by as you fight the Goons then throw the Blocks at them. When you get down to the lower area then you will be attacked by three more Goons. After killing them then jump over the conveyor belt and you should see a large yellow crate of Auto Parts against the wall. Next to it is a doorway. Go through the door to find a Relic: ================ ++[The Graven Image]++ ================ After acquiring the Relic then go to the corner and climb up the stairs into the Control Room. You will also find a Talent Shrine where you can upgrade. Push the button to open the door going into the next area. When you go back down and get near the door then you will be attacked by at least four Goons, including a couple on a catwalk. Go through the door and it will close behind you. Angle left while going under the catwalk and you will encounter a Bat wielding Goon. Execute him then proceed further to find and Execute the others including one on the nearby catwalk. Kill him then go up onto the catwalk. You will then be attacked by two more Goons on the other end. Get up close and Execute them then proceed to the next door to enter a large Control Room. Push the red button on the console then head to the end to destroy the door leading back into the first area of the Warehouse. When you get back down then head to the Loading Bays to pursue Swifty. In the connecting hall you will find another Talent Shrine. As you enter the Loading Bay then you will be attacked by five Goons. Two of them will be ahead of you as you enter. Shoot them or use the nearby object to deal with them. Go to the left to find an upper area with a Portable Light and three more Goons including one with a Bat. Kill them then destroy the Generator. As you are doing this then Swifty will tell Jackie about the people who put him to this. This information somehow agitates The Darkness. Near the Portable Light is a door. Destroy the door to enter a small connecting room. On the other end is a open door. Two more Goons will be firing at you through it. Execute them and two more Bat wielding Goons will enter. Execute them as well. After killing these guys then go back into the connecting room and go near the window to find a Relic: ==================== ++[Chime of Deliverance]++ ==================== After acquiring the Relic then go through the open door to find two additional Goons. Deal with them then proceed to the end of the Loading Bay to find several more Goons. Because of the nearby Portable Light it is best to either shoot them from afar or throw objects at them. When those Goons are down then three more Goons will show up including two Bat wielders. When they approach then Execute them then shoot the last Shotgun Goon from afar. After that then walk past the Portable Light, which will cause The Darkness to retract, to enter the room where the Generator is at. Destroy the Generator then head to the door to the room where Swifty is hiding. Destroy the Electrical Box and go through the door to start a cutscene. Jackie then starts to interrogate Swifty. But something about what he says upsets The Darkness and it intervenes, killing Swifty in the process. Jackie is upset that he didn't get any answers from Swifty but he spies a envelope full of money which he picks up as he leaves the scene. And in the process you will get the following: >>"I'm Just Getting Started" Accomplishment ***************************************** 0=-=-=-=-=-=-0 / Chapter Five \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >CHP5. Vinnie also informs him that the "new guys" found Johnny Powell and that he is tied up in his study. Follow Vinnie to the study and Chief will open the door so Jackie can go inside and talk to Johnny. Johnny Powell is a high strung and somewhat nutty occultist. Johnny is the person who helped Jackie get The Darkness under control. But Johnny ran off afterwards. Now Jackie needs his help again to find out what is going on. Johnny also helps you with the Relics you find by providing information on them. After the conversation ends then talk to Chief to get him to untie Johnny. Vinnie will then inform you to go to your Office. As you head to your Office then you will encounter Aunt Sarah. You can talk to her if you wish. Then head to your Office where Jimmy, Frank, and Eddie are waiting. Sit down and they will inform you about the strange goings on inside the Brimstone Club. This might be the lead that Jackie is looking for. Jimmy also informs Jackie about Vinnie knowing somebody inside the Brimstone Club. Head to the Elevator to talk to Vinnie and start the next mission. However, if you wish, you can meet Dolfo outside to shoot some pigeons before going to Vinnie. But, before going inside, turn to your right and head for the large van in the corner of the loading area. Behind it is a Relic: =================== ++[The Brothers of Men]++ =================== After acquiring the Relic then head inside the Lucky Mannequin. Make your through the place and get frisked by the guards. Then head to the door to be let inside. Here you will enter the Brothel itself. The person you need to find is Venus. She will be the one wearing a green dress and can be found in the far corner of the reception area. After you find her then talk to her and follow her. She will lead you to a freight elevator. When you get inside then she will tell you about the gun she has stashed in her room and to get up to the third floor where the new owners are at. When the elevator stops then continue to follow her to her room. Along the way you can look around and catch some of the action around you. When you get there then you will enter the next section. 0============0 | Section Two \ 0=====================================> She will give you the gun then tell you get rid of the new owner. At this point you will manifest The Darkness and Knobby will show up. You need to find the door leading to the third floor. The Brothel is a fairly easy place to navigate but look out for the crude signs leading to the stairs. In addition, the Goons on this floor are all Bat wielders and are very easy to Execute. When you get to the door then you find that there is a light above the Electrical Box that you need to destroy to open the door. The light is caged and therefore cannot be destroyed. Talk to Knobby and he will enter the vent above the door. But then he tells you he needs your help and to close your eyes. At this point you will then take control of Knobby. From here then follow the air duct. When you look down through the grating then you will see some strange looking men. They will also talk about The Darkness and special Relics. This irritates The Darkness. Continue all the way to the end of the duct and drop down into the next room. Proceed through the door and you will find one of these strange men ahead of you. Go up to him and Execute him. This will start your tally towards the "Impish Delight" Accomplishment. After this then go through the next door and into a brightly lit room. There is also two of these strange men here. He will walking toward the door at the end of the hallway. The door will be brightly lit so you can't go to the door because Knobby can't survive in the light. If he dies then he will simply reappear in the previous room where you dropped down. The goal is to lure both of them away from this door. Go up to the first enemy and swipe him using the Demon Arm Melee then back away to the door you came through. When the first enemy gets close enough then run up and Execute him. The second enemy is kind of the wild card here. Most of the time he will simply stay near the door and shoot at you thus preventing you from going up to him. If he stays then just go on ahead. But, if he runs towards you, then Execute him. After dealing with these guys then proceed through the room while avoiding the light and to a green pipe that you can climb to reach the ceiling tiles above. Once you get up here then navigate your way to the next room and find another air duct. Follow the duct and drop into the next room. You will find another person standing here. Execute this person then do Checkpoint Restart which will place you back into the room you dropped into. Although your Essence Points will reset back to its previous total your kills with Knobby *WILL* accumulate. Thus you can replay this area a few times to acquire the following: >>"Impish Delight" Accomplishment ******************************* Near your last enemy is an Electrical Box that you need to destroy. After destroying it then you will then go back to your body. Destroy the Electrical Box to open the door then proceed through it. Here you will find large Riot Shields that you can use for yourself. You will also find a door that leads into a small room. Here you will find additional equipment, an Ammo Box, an HK Ump, a Sawed-Off and a Talent Shrine. You will also find a map in the corner with pictures of all of the people in your organization plus yourself. Whoever these people are they know everything about you. This further agitates The Darkness. Acquire weapons and ammo before proceeding. When you exit the small room and get to the double door then it will burst open and you will finally face off against The Brotherhood. A Clubber will run towards you while a pair of Soldiers will hang back towards the door. You can use one of the nearby shields to slice the Clubber and either use your firearms, your Demon Arm, or more of the shields to slice and kill the others. You can also Execute them but you will need to either shoot them with your firearms or melee them with the right Demon Arm to weaken them enough to be grabbed. You can't use the left Demon Arm to stun them like you could with the Goons. After killing off this group then go through the door and you should see off to your left another Relic: ================== ++[The Key of Mictlan]++ ================== After acquiring the Relic then you will need to kill off another three Soldiers before proceeding. You will also see a Portable Light. But that can be avoided by going through the room on the left. You can also quickly duck into the room on the right and destroy the Generator if you wish. After killing off this group then go back to the Talent Shrine to upgrade before continuing forward. Go back to the door and destroy the Electrical Box for the door and head up the stairs, while destroying the lights, to reach the next floor. Up here is a much larger room with lots of partial walls. You will then be attacked by three Soldiers. Execute them and proceed forward. As you proceed through the room then you will also find more Portable Lights. However, the Generators are in plain sight and can be easily destroyed. As you continue forward then you will encounter several more Soldiers including one Clubber. Keep an eye out for him since he has a tendency to sneak up from behind. **Info: Don Difficulty (New Game+) ******************************** Because there are so many Soldiers at here it is best to either throw Poles, Sawblades, and Shields from afar and use your firearms instead of getting right up to them with the Demon Arms. Continue Executing Soldiers and destroying Generators to the Portable Lights until you reach the end of the room. Then turn left and head to the next corner to find another Soldier. Execute him then proceed through the hall. You will then reach a Portable Light that is shining on an open door. The line to the Generator goes into the next room. Quickly run into the room to find the Generator. Unfortunately, this leads into a trap. Multiple lights come on and you will be attacked by many Soldiers and Clubbers. You will also see your Dark Essence being drained into an object in front of you. You will then be confronted the leader of The Brotherhood, Victor. He wants The Darkness and is using a special Relic, called the Siphon of the Angelus, to remove it from Jackie. He chides Jackie that he doesn't give The Darkness the fear and respect it deserves. He also mentions that The Darkness wants a host who can be controlled instead of a host smart enough to control it. This explains why The Darkness wants nothing to do with The Brotherhood - it wants control over everything but does not want to be controlled by somebody else. The Brotherhood wants The Darkness to reign over the world and needs its power to do so. And to control its power to do what they want. Something The Darkness doesn't want. Victor then asks Jackie to give up The Darkness of his own free will. Jackie refuses but Victor shows him something to get him to change his mind. Peevish, one of Victor's minions, pushes a TV towards Jackie. The TV shows the inside Jackie's Bedroom. And Jenny's picture. The Brotherhood are at the Mansion. The picture is picked up by another minion, Bragg. The picture is then desecrated as Bragg taunts Jackie. Then the camera shows Frank and Eddie all tied up. Victor tells Jackie that his empire is attacked by all sides and soon his home will fall as well. He then tells Jackie to make a choice and this leads to the following: >>"Decisions, Decisions" Accomplishment ************************************* At this point you need to sacrifice either Frank or Eddie. Just like with the "Romantic" Accomplishment you don't need to do anything. After awhile the game will move on its own and you get this Accomplishment as Eddie is killed by Bragg. Victor then asks Jackie one more time to give up The Darkness. Jackie again refuses. After sending the order to Bragg to kill everyone in the Mansion then Victor instructs another minion to pummel Jackie into submission. As Jackie is beaten he then loses consciousness. Jackie then finds himself in a room with a destroyable wall as The Darkness implores him to resist. Go through the wall to enter a warped hallway. As you proceed through this hallway then The Darkness orders Jackie to protect it and to prevent being taken by The Brotherhood. Jackie no longer wants to have anything to do with it and demands one good reason to comply. Destroy the wall at the end of the hall and The Darkness will show Jenny in Hell. The Darkness taunts Jackie that Jenny will burn here forever unless he complies. Jackie, because of his love for Jenny, now has no choice. Jackie comes to while he is being beaten. Victor threatens Jackie one more time then leaves the room. Resist and you will break free and grab the minion's gun. Then quickly fire at the minion jumping towards you. If he hits you then you die. After you kill him then shoot out the light. As you climb down from the cross and recover then Peevish will run in and grab the Siphon. Victor will be at the door and threatens Jackie again. Then he closes the door and tells his men to set fire to the place. 0============0 | Section Two \ 0=====================================> When you get up off of the floor then you should see a door ahead of you. However, turn to your left to find a Relic in the corner: ============ ++[Thumb Screws]++ ============ If you look to your right then you will also find a Talent Shrine. Destroy the door to re-enter the Brothel. The Brothel is completely on fire and you need to navigate your way through. It isn't hard to make your way - at each intersection look for the hall that has less fire on it. Eventually you will get to the freight elevator but it will collapse inside the shaft. Get on top of it and climb the ladder to the next floor. When you get up here then you will deal with three Clubbers. Execute them then proceed into the next hallway and to the next door. Destroy it and enter the next room where a pair of Clubbers are waiting for you. Execute them then go up the stairs at the end of the room. Follow the catwalk and into the small room where you will find another door. Destroy it to enter the next area. 0==============0 | Section Three \ 0=====================================> When you get outside then you will find Butcher Joyce down on the ground level. They will implore you to go the Mansion where The Brotherhood are laying siege. Turn around and head down to the roof. Follow the way to a small set of stairs going up to the next section of roof. At the end of this section is a set of stairs leading down. When you get halfway down these stairs then stop. Turn to look right and down to find a Relic on a fire escape: ===================== ++[The Fool's Phylactery]++ ===================== Grab the Relic with the Demon Arm then proceed down to the next section of roof where you will be attacked by two Clubbers. After killing them then proceed along the path until you reach a larger area with air conditioning units. Three Soldiers will be on the building at the far end and you will be attacked by two additional Clubbers. Execute the Clubbers then use the Fan Blades from the air units to slice the Soldiers from afar since you don't have any guns at this point. After this then go along the grating and drop to the next section of roof. As you proceed then The Brotherhood will turn on some lights and you need to run forward until you drop down to the next section of roof. Go to the next corner and you will be attacked by three Soldiers. Execute them then pick up their weapons and proceed. When you go up the next set of stairs then you will be attacked by two more Soldiers. Execute them then head forward and drop down onto a larger area. Three more Soldiers await you. Use the air units as cover as you go and pick them off with your firearms or Execute them. There is also an Ammo Box where you can get more ammo for your firearms. As you proceed further then you will be attacked by three more Soldiers. Execute them and continue forward. As you reach the small set of stairs going into the next section then four more Soldiers will appear including one on the upper rooftop at the end. Execute the Soldiers on ground level and slice the last one from afar then go through the window at the end to enter the Warehouse. Turn the corner to find a van and an Ammo Box. As you proceed forward then the large door at the bottom of the incline will open. The entranceway is blocked by two vehicles and behind them are three Soldiers including a Spotlight. You need to get rid of the Spotlight first so aim at the light or his head from afar with your firearms. Once that light is taken care of then focus on the other Soldiers. After you kill all three of them then head to the blockade and destroy the door nearby. Go through the short hallway and out the next door. To your right is a Talent Shrine. Ahead of you is an Electrical Box and a gate. Destroy the Electrical Box to knock out the lights in the garage and then the gate to proceed forward. When you get through the gate then you will be attacked by two Soldiers and a Clubber. Execute them all. Near the Soldiers is an Ammo Box. Get near the white van in the middle of this area and another van will show up near the next corner. Its headlights will remain on so back away from the white van to use it as cover while you deal with the Clubber approaching you. Execute him then get far enough away from the lighted van and shoot out the headlights. Then go up to and Execute the Soldiers. You will also hear other gunfire as you combat the Soldiers. There is a firefight at the Elevator leading upstairs but you can't do anything because the door is locked. You need to go around the backside to get to the Elevator. Make sure that your firearms are reloaded then go around the next corner. When you do that then a car will rapidly approach and you will go into slow motion: >>"The Bird is the Word" Accomplishment ************************************* To get this you need to shoot up the approaching car. Being that you are in slow motion this isn't too hard to do. Fire your weapons at the car's hood as it speeds to run you over. As it flies over you then you will give the occupants in the car The Finger (hence the name of the Accomplishment). After it hits the wall and explodes then you will get the Accomplishment and 50 Essence Points. Go around the next corner and you will be attacked by two Soldiers and an Clubber. Execute the Clubber and shoot at the two Soldiers. As you are doing this then a Spotlight will appear from behind a nearby van. Take care of him first before finishing off the Soldiers. There will also be an Ammo Box in the center of this area. As you proceed forward towards the door leading to the elevator then you will be attacked by multiple Soldiers including a Spotlight and a Clubber. Back away and Execute the approaching Clubber and shoot out the light on the Spotlight. Then go up to and Execute the rest. After killing everybody then enter the door leading to the Elevator. When you get through the door then turn left to find a destroyable door. Go through that door and turn left to find a Relic: ================ ++[The Winged Demon]++ ================ Then exit the room and head to the Elevator to meet Dolfo. Then the Elevator doors open to reveal Vinnie. He informs Jackie that Aunt Sarah is inside the panic room and that Jackie needs to get up there quickly. After talking to him then continue forward to enter a small courtyard where some of your crew are waiting. Then go up the stairs to face off against several Soldiers including a Spotlight. Deal with the Spotlight first with the Carbine and Execute the others. As you go around the area then you will also notice round shields that you can pick up to use as cover or to throw. As you go forward past the fountain then you will encounter more Soldiers including a Spotlight - deal with him first. After Executing some of this group then a Clubber will approach. Execute him and finish off the rest of the group. Go up the stairs and Execute the lone Soldier there. When you get to the top of the stairs then you will find a Soldier and a Knight. And this is your first opportunity at the following: >>"Karma's a Bitch" Accomplishment ******************************** To get this you need to kill a Knight with his own shield. First, shoot off the Darkness Armor from the Riot Shield and grab it. Then shoot the Knight until you weaken him then throw the shield to slice him and acquire the Accomplishment. After killing him and the Soldier then proceed to the next set of stairs. At the left of the stairs is another Ammo Box. When you get to the top, and be above the courtyard you were in earlier, then you will find another Spotlight. Be careful - while you are shooting at him then you will be attacked from behind by a Clubber. After you deal with them then a couple of additional Soldiers will appear. When they appear then another Spotlight will show up on the lower level you just came from. After killing this group then proceed to the door going into the Bar. When the door opens then a Clubber will run out. While you are Executing him then two more Soldiers and a Knight will emerge from the door. This is also a good time to use the Swarm if you have the upgrade (especially at Don difficulty) to distract them long enough to kill some of them. After killing this group then go through the door into the Bar to find an Ammo Box behind the counter. In the next room, with the fireplace, is a Portable Light. The Generator is near the fireplace. As you go to destroy it then you will be attacked by a Soldier and a Clubber. You can destroy the Generator and this pair in quick order. Move forward to enter the Kitchen and you will be attacked by a Soldier who will enter from the left. After Executing him then go right to enter the Dining Room and find a Relic in the corner: ================ ++[The Blinding Sun]++ ================ Grab the Relic then go through the Kitchen and to your Office where you will meet up with Jimmy. He reaffirms that Aunt Sarah is inside your panic room which is inside your Bedroom. Grab some ammo from the Ammo Box and proceed through the door leading to the Atrium. Just before you get to the door then more Soldiers will rappel down into the Atrium. There will also be more on the upper level beyond the door. Use your firearms to kill them from inside the hallway. When you enter the Atrium then more Soldiers, including a Clubber, will show up. **Info: Don Difficulty (New Game+) ******************************** When these guys show up then duck back into the hallway instead of taking them on face to face like you could do in the Thug difficulty. When you ask him where you are at then he tells you that these bad dreams are part of your illness and that you are here to get well. You will be given M1911s and you need to shoot at him. Fire on him while dodging the Globes and he will vanish after a few shots. But more of The Brotherhood will show up to take his place. The first group will have a Soldier, a Clubber, and a Spotlight. The Spotlight will focus on the rest of your men at the start so you should be able to kill off the Clubber before he can shine his light on you. Then deal with the Spotlight and Execute the Soldier. It should be noted that you can knock off chunks of the gravestones and hurl them. You will also find pots and shields to throw as well. And, of course, you can use the shields to protect yourself. After this group is killed off then a trio of Soldiers will climb down the stairs. After killing them then find the statue of the Virgin Mary and go around behind it to find a Relic: ==== ++[Cain]++ ==== After picking that up then head up the stairs to pursue Bragg. Destroy the gate at the top and you will encounter a Soldier and a Knight. You can use the nearby pots to weaken and kill them if you want. The Knight will also drop an HK Ump so grab that before moving on. Proceed further up the path and you will be attacked by a Soldier, a Knight, and a Clubber. Get behind one of the crypts and use it to hide from the Knight so he can't interfere while you Execute the Clubber. When the Knight comes to your position then use your Demon Arm to knock off the Darkness Armor and grab his shield. Then finish him off and the Soldier. After this then Bragg will show up again and teleport from crypt to crypt. Dodge the Essence Globes while either shooting or throwing objects at him. After a little bit of damage then he will vanish again. Proceed up the path and over the bridge. Continue forward until you reach a bridge where you will find a Talent Shrine. After that then head up the path where you will find a gate. Beyond it are two Soldiers. Go through the gate, which will close behind you, then Execute the Soldiers. Move forward past this point and you will be attacked by a shotgun wielding Soldier and a Clubber. After Executing them then head to the corner where you will be attacked by a Knight, a Spotlight, and a Soldier. Get back around the corner and let the Knight approach you. Kill him off then go around the corner and deal with the Spotlight and the Soldier. In the nearby corner is an Ammo Box. From this corner then proceed forward to find a Portable Light which is shining on a gate. You need to destroy the Generator to get inside the next area. However, when you get to the Light then you will be attacked by three Soldiers and a Spotlight. Kill the Spotlight then Execute the Soldiers. On the other side of the crypt by the Light you will find another Ammo Box. When you get to the next corner then you will be attacked by a Clubber, a Knight, and a Soldier. Like before, go back around the corner to Execute the Clubber first then go after the Knight and Soldier in that order. Then proceed to the end of the path to find the Generator that you need to destroy to knock out the Portable Light. After putting out the Light then head back to the gate and destroy it. As you head down the path then you will be attacked by a Whipper and a Knight. Back away and kill the first one that gets close to you. Proceed forward to find a large crypt ahead of you. Go around to the back to find an Ammo Box and a Relic: ============== ++[Engraved Skull]++ ============== As you are heading to this spot then you will be shot at by a couple of Soldiers who will run up the path ahead. After acquiring the Relic then proceed forward to find them and a pair of Whippers. Go back to the crypt and around one of its corners. Execute them when they turn the corner to go after you. Go back up the path and another Whipper will appear. Do the same to him. After you kill him off then you will see a Spotlight appear at the far end along with four Soldiers. Stay near the crypt and pick off the Spotlight then go up and Execute the Soldiers. You will also find an Ammo Box against one of the crypts. Proceed past this point and you will be attacked by a Whipper, a Spotlight, and two Soldiers. Go far back and behind one of the small crypts so you can lure the Whipper to your position. After Executing him then go after the Spotlight and then the Soldiers. After killing off this group then Bragg will show up again and will teleport from crypt to crypt. Use nearby objects or shoot him up a bit to make him go away. After he disappears then look around to find the Strikers that the Soldiers were using and grab them. In addition, there is another Ammo Box behind one of the large shrubs. Go through the large gate at the end of the path and proceed through the next area to find another Talent Shrine. Go through the next gate and you will see two Ammo Boxes and a shield to your right along with at least one body with a Heart. The gate will then close behind you and will face off against a couple of Soldiers. After Executing them then Bragg will show up. Now you can finally fight him and finish him off. He will usually stand in one place for a bit and fire at you with his guns. Then he will teleport to another area and fire on you again. After awhile then he will then do a massive rush against you and knock you back. However, if you time it right, then you can use your Demon Arm and stop him just as he reaches you. He will also stand in front of you for a bit before teleporting away again. Use this to flail at him with the Demon Arms - they are the best weapon against him. After you have taken off at least a third of his health then a van will show up and a Whipper and two Soldiers will show up. In addition, the van's headlights will be on. Use the Striker to kill off the trio off while shooting out the headlights. After killing them off then Bragg will come back and continue the battle. He will teleport to three different places and continue to fire with his guns. But, every so often, he will throw a trio of small energy balls at you. You will need to dodge them while you counterattack. Use the Striker to whittle away at Bragg's health. When you have taken more of his health away then he will come closer and will try to rush you again - this time with more frequency. Once again, time your Arm swings to stop him and damage him. When you have taken away all of his health then he will teleport back to the van to make one last stand. Go up to him and shoot him to get the prompt to Interrogate. Interrogate him and he will tell you he that Victor is at the Hellgate Field. At this point the chapter will end and you will get the following: >>"Sweet Revenge" Accomplishment ****************************** 0=-=-=-=-=-=-=-0 / Chapter Twelve \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >CHP12. "On The Hunt" 0 \-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-/ \ Chapter Twelve / 0-=-=-=-=-=-=-=0 When the chapter begins then you will be in the main bathroom inside your Bedroom. Vinnie comes to ask you if you are all right. Talk to him tell to sit tight while you talk to Johnny. But, before going there, go downstairs and outside to find Dolfo. Here you can do two different side-activities and this leads to: >>"That's Why I'm the Boss" Accomplishment **************************************** The first activity is to shoot up thirteen bottles. In order to impress Dolfo you need to shoot them all in ten seconds or less. The gun has ten rounds and you need to quickly shoot a bottle with each round then reload and shoot three more bottles the same way in order to get close to the necessary time. There's no real shortcut here - you just need to practice for a bit. When you finally get to the magic number of ten seconds then you will impress Dolfo and get halfway to this Accomplishment. The second activity is to shoot pigeons. There are twenty four of them and they are split into eight groups found along the outside of the Mansion. You have a standard pump-action Shotgun with a five round clip. You also have ninety seconds to kill as many of them as you can. The best thing to do is to approach a group to get them to fly off. Just as they start to fly then fire on the group. Usually you will get two of them at the start then you can use the remaining rounds to get the last one. If you're lucky then you can take out the entire group in one shot. After killing off a group then reload and run to the next group. Continue going along the Mansion grounds until you get rid of the last group or time runs out. If you kill at least twenty of them then you will impress Dolfo enough to finally acquire this Accomplishment. After all of this then head down to your study and talk to Johnny. After the initial conversation then you can continue to ask him for additional information. When you are finished with Johnny then head to the Atrium to talk to Vinnie and Jimmy. When you talk to them then you tell them to lay low while you go and take care of The Brotherhood. They want to help but you have already caused enough problems because of The Darkness and he needs to do this alone. After talking to them then go to the Elevator to start the next chapter. 0=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-0 / Chapter Thirteen \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >CHP13. Proceed along the path and you will see a vision of Jenny by the main gate which is closed off. Follow her and you will end up underneath the carnival grounds. Continue to follow her until you reach some boards and The Darkness manifests itself. Destroy the boards and proceed into the Bumper Cars where Knobby will be waiting for you. There is also a Talent Shrine here. Proceed forward up the ramp and into the carnival grounds. Turn left from here to find an Ammo Box on a table. From the Ammo Box then turn right and proceed forward to find the food stands. To your right should be the Ring Toss and just after that is the Cotton Candy and Peanuts stand. Turn right at the next corner to go between these two stands and proceed forward to find a Relic just ahead to the right: ======================== ++[The Light of St. Anthony]++ ======================== After collecting the Relic then continue exploring. You will find Poles and Propane Tanks laying about. If you wish you can use the Propane Tanks to destroy some of the lights since you do not any weapons on you at this point. You can also find an Ammo Box behind the stand directly right of the Bumper Cars. In the opposite corner of the grounds then you will find a Shooting Gallery. You will then encounter another vision of Jenny and find yourself back in better times. She wants you to win a prize for her and this leads to the following: >>"Carnie Kid" Accomplishment (1) ******************************* This is the first of two carnival games you will encounter in this chapter. You need to score at least 1,000 points in both to get this Accomplishment. On this game you need to shoot ducks. This one is easy to get 1,000 points on despite the time limit. Simply alternate between the 50 point ducks and the 100 point ducks above it. Do not zoom in as it will slow you down. If you fail to get the necessary points then do Restart Checkpoint and go back to the Gallery. After finishing up with this activity then you will be finally given your guns (two M1911s and a Sawn-Off Shotgun) as Victor and The Brotherhood taunts you. Proceed forward a little bit and one of the lights turn on as The Brotherhood attack. You will then encounter another Clubber. But this one is different as he is also a Runner. However, he is more interested in killing you so Execute him. After killing him then another Clubber Runner will show up. Deal with him the same way then blow out the light and Execute the single Soldier by the benches. You need to start heading back towards the Bumper Cars area. However, a large section of the boardwalk is broken and you can only go in one direction and that is through the food stands. When you get back near the Cotton Candy stand then another Soldier will appear. Get closer and the stand will open up and a regular Shotgun wielding Runner will appear. In addition, there is a Portable Light behind the stand so you need to back off and lure your attackers away form the light. Shooting at the Runner will hurt him but will also cause him to run away. If you quickly go back around the stand to shoot at the Generator then a Clubber will show up and will attack from behind. Execute him then proceed around the stand. As you get nearer to the Bumper Cars then you will not only find the first Runner but you will also see an additional Runner, a Clubber, and a Soldier. Hang back around the stand and lure the Clubber to his doom then use the stand as cover as you deal with the Runners. After killing off the Runners then go and Execute the remaining Soldier. When you finally see the Bumper Cars then angle left towards the Pretzel stand in the corner of the grounds. Unfortunately, a van will show up and its lights will force you back. Several more Soldiers will appear including one Clubber. Back off and deal with the Clubber then shoot out the van's headlights. Go and Execute the remaining Soldiers including the two inside the Pretzel stand. Then go into the tunnel nearby where you will find two Portable Lights that come on as you enter. The door behind you will close thus trapping you inside. By the Lights is a door. Go through the door to enter a small room. Destroy the boards to enter the next room (where you will find an Ammo Box) then destroy the Generator for the Lights. Go back to the tunnel and destroy the Electrical Box to open the next door so you can proceed to the next area. 0============0 | Section Two \ 0=====================================> When you start this area then look up to your right to find two lights above the wall. Shoot them out then proceed forward. You will also find two Soldiers running ahead of you. Let them go on then do a U-turn right around the end of the wall. Continue forward to a picnic table where you will find a Relic: ============ ++[Af and Hemah]++ ============ After grabbing the Relic then proceed forward and be attacked by the two Soldiers plus an additional Soldier and a Clubber. Execute them all and continue forward while shooting out all the lights you find. When you get near a large Popcorn stand then it will open up to reveal two Soldiers and a Whipper. Go back to where you dealt with the first group so you can Execute the Whipper alone. After killing him then go and Execute the two Soldiers. Go past the Popcorn stand and you will be attacked by a large group including a Clubber Runner, two Soldiers, and a Spotlight. It is important to note that the Spotlight will stand in one area instead of moving around. Right where he stands is a Propane Tank. Get up against the small stand close to the Spotlight so he can't do any harm as you deal with the Clubber Runner. The two Soldiers will be at the far end while you are dealing with the Runner. Shoot the Propane Tank to damage the Spotlight. At the very least you will destroy the light but, if you're lucky, it may also kill him. After forcing the Spotlight from his hiding place or killing him then another group will attack including a Shotgun Runner and a Clubber. After killing off this entire group the proceed to the end of the area and climb over the obstacle. Follow Knobby to a ladder. Climb it and turn right to enter a small room where you will find a Talent Shrine. From here, climb through the window and follow the boards to get into the next section. To your left, after you drop down, you will find a pair of Ammo Boxes. Proceed forward to the next corner of the area to find another pair of Ammo Boxes. By them are two closed doors. Note this location - we'll be coming back here later. From here, angle right to get close to another Shooting Gallery where you will get another vision of Jenny. And this leads to: >>"Carnie Kid" Accomplishment (2) ******************************* This is the second of the two games that you need to play to get this Accomplishment. Like before, you need to get 1,000 points. This time you need to shoot bad guys in a bar setting. This one is a bit tougher than the last one. The targets are more random and you pretty much need to hit about 90% of them to get the necessary points. Do Restart Checkpoint if you fail to get above 1,000 points. If you got 1,000 point from the first game then you will get the Accomplishment when you get 1,000 points here. After this then you will return to reality and be facing the Ring Toss stand some distance ahead of you. Run to it and hide behind the large crates as more of The Brotherhood attack. The first one you will face is a singular Clubber Runner. After Executing him then a regular Clubber will appear. After Executing him then head toward the center to find five additional Soldiers. When you Execute most of them then one of the rooms near the Shooting Gallery will open and three more Soldiers plus a Shotgun Runner will emerge. Go back behind the crates and use it for cover as you pick them off with your firearms. If you have Swarm then this is a good time to use it. After killing off this entire group then a large gate on the opposite side of the crates will open up and a Soldier, Knight, and a Spotlight will emerge. Stay behind the crates and pick off the Spotlight. Then deal with the Knight and Soldier. After killing off this group then the area is clear. But, before proceeding through the large gate, go back towards the Shooting Gallery and to those two closed doors by the Ammo Boxes I mentioned earlier. These two doors are now open. Go through them to find a Relic on the floor: =============== ++[The Abysmal Maw]++ =============== After acquiring the Relic then proceed through the large gate and to the gate at the end of the tunnel to enter the next area. 0==============0 | Section Three \ 0=====================================> When you start this area then you will be on a narrow path. Just ahead of you is a Talent Shrine. Continue past the Shrine and you will be taunted by Victor. Just past this point you will be attacked by two Soldiers, a Clubber, and a Spotlight. Go back to get out of the Spotlight's sight to Execute the Clubber then go and kill the Spotlight and Execute the Soldiers. At this point you will find a larger area with movie marquees. As you enter this area then more lights will turn and multiple enemies will enter through the gate ahead. They include several Soldiers, a Clubber, and a Whipper. Execute this group then head to the open gate. As you approach then Victor will appear and close it then you will be attacked by two Runners, one a Clubber and the other a Shotgun. After Executing them then you will need to destroy a nearby gate so you can find a way to destroy the main one. You need to find additional explosives to destroy the main gate. Knobby will go up onto a nearby building and give you Propane Tanks that you can use to destroy it. Grab one and throw it at the base of the gate to destroy it. When you have successfully destroyed the gate then several Flash Bangs will be thrown and you will be attacked by four enemies: a Soldier, a Whipper, a Spotlight, and a Knight. Best thing to do is use the Swarm against them and kill the Spotlight while they are distracted. Gun Channeling is also effective if you have it. One option is to head down the stairwell by the Arcade and pick them off one by one as they appear. There is also an Ammo Box at the bottom. When you finally kill off this group then go through the gate and to the next door. When you get through the next door then you should see a gate ahead of you. Look through the gate to find a Relic: =================== ++[Crescent of the Sun]++ =================== Grab the Relic with the Demon Arm and proceed to the showers. Here you will find a Portable Light and two enemies: a Clubber and a Soldier. Back away from the Light and Execute the Clubber and go back into the light to shoot out the Generator beyond the Soldier. After killing off the Soldier then proceed to be attacked by two Shotgun Runners and a Soldier. Stay in the showers and pick off the Runners and go and Execute the Soldier. After killing off this group then destroy the door at the end of the room to go outside and climb the ladder up to the roof. Here you will find a Talent Shrine. When you get to the nearby door then you will find three Soldiers and a Knight inside at the opposite end. One method is to wait for each of them to come to your position and Execute them one by one. When they are dead then go inside and destroy the Generator for the Portable Light inside. Then go through the door leading outside. You will find several Portable Lights above you and shining in the center of this rooftop. When you try to make your way through this area then three Soldiers and a Clubber and will attack. Go back to the dark and Execute the Clubber. Then let each of the Soldiers approach one by and and Execute them. After killing them then go through the light and destroy the Generator in the next room (there will also be another Ammo Box nearby). As you backtrack from this room then one of the nearby air units will be destroyed by Victor and the Arcade across the way will open up. Several Soldiers will set up at the Arcade. You can either use the fan blades or your firearms to kill them. Then backtrack your way back down and to the alley with the gate. Although you can simply jump down from the roof that is not a good idea. The reason is because when you approach the Arcade then you will be attacked by a Knight, a Whipper, and a Soldier. The alley can be used as cover as you lure some of them to be more easily dealt with. After killing off this group then go inside to find an Ammo Box on an toppled machine. Go upstairs to find a pool room with several Pool Sticks. Grab one then proceed through the next door then to the next roof. Knobby will spot a large truck that can be used against the gate. On the top of this roof, to your left, is a Talent Shrine. On the opposite side of this roof, at ground level are four Soldiers. One option is to use the Pool Stick against one of them then go back to the pool room to grab another Stick. Repeat for each of the Soldiers then use the Talent Shrine. There are also two Poles near the Shrine that can be used if you run out of Pool Sticks. When you kill this group then drop down and head to the alley to the left. As you drop down then you will be attacked by a Whipper, a Shotgun Runner, a Spotlight, and two Soldiers. Use the alley for cover and your firearms to attack each of them and try to shoot out the light above the door. This is also a good time to use Swarm. After killing off this group then enter the garage. Knobby will enter the truck and volunteers to use it to destroy the large gate. But you need to open the garage first. However, before you do that, go around the front of the truck to find a Relic laying nearby: ================== ++[Siddhartha's Tears]++ ================== After acquiring the Relic then go to the other side of the room and destroy the door so you can get to the control panel to open the door. When you open the door then Knobby will drive the truck into the large gate to finally destroy it. From here then go through the opening and to the Castle of Horrors to enter the next area. 0=============0 | Section Four \ 0=====================================> When you enter the Castle then you will find a Talent Shrine to your left. Proceed forward to the Ticket Window to find an M1911 and a Ammo Box on the left. On the right, on the floor behind the window is a Relic: ================ ++[The Mark of Cain]++ ================ From here then follow the path until you reach the car. When you get there then you will get another vision of Jenny and she will sit you down inside the car. You will then activate one of your firearms as the two of you go through the Castle. As you can guess there is some shooting involved. The good news is that this is a pretty easy part. You will find five Soldiers as you proceed through the area. They will appear one at a time, except for a group of two near the end, and can be quickly killed by your firearm. At the very end then Jenny will vanish. Get off of the car and head to the Iron Maiden ahead of you which is making a knocking noise. But, when you open the Iron Maiden, then Victor will appear from behind to surprise you and throw you inside. After he closes up the Iron Maiden, with you inside, then you are to be transported to a Mansion. The chapter will end as you pass out and you will get the following: >>"Date Night" Accomplishment *************************** 0=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-0 / Chapter Fourteen \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >CHP14. Go into the nearby hallway to find Jenny outside of an office talking to a doctor. As you get closer then she will run inside. She is upset from the previous encounter and is not ready to see you again. When you get close to the door then you will be stopped by Peter, an orderly. When you try to get inside then you will be pushed back. You will then be prompted to find a weapon. Head through the Recreation Area and talk to people. But you find that they are of no use. Go all the way back to your room to find Adolf. Talk to him and he will tell you to go to the Janitor's Closet. When you get there then open the door. But it won't budge. However, the janitor shows up to help you. He has a familiar voice and familiar hunch. Follow him into the room and he will reveal himself as Knobby. After he turns out the light then the chapter ends and you will get the following: >>"Allies in Strange Places" Accomplishment ***************************************** 0=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=0 / Chapter Fifteen \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >CHP15. "Rat In A Maze" 0 \-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-/ \ Relics - 2 / \ Chapter Fifteen / 0=-=-=-=-=-0 0=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=0 Turn around and you will find yourself in a warped version of the Asylum. Proceed forward to find Knobby. Follow him and he will tell you that the Asylum isn't real. It is a buffer to keep you from going into Hell and it serves as a recovery area while The Darkness puts you back together. Now it all makes sense. When The Darkness first manifested on Jackie's 21st birthday, it forced him to watch Jenny die. Then Jackie committed suicide because he couldn't go on without her. He then ended up in a supernatural version of the trenches of WWI where he met his great grandfather, Anthony Estacado. The reason he ended up there is because he committed suicide on holy ground. St. Mary's Orphanage is holy ground because it is run by the Church. Jackie didn't know that fact until Anthony gave him a letter outlining that. When Jackie returned to his own world then he set up another suicide, at Trinity Church, that would also kill off one of his enemies, Capt. Edward Shrote. No Man's Land is also a special part of The Darkness that gave Jackie an opportunity to gain control over it. But that control only lasted for a short time. But his recent deaths were not by suicide and not on holy ground. This allowed The Darkness to retain control over Jackie by putting him in a different area as it tries to fix him. And the Asylum also serves to confuse and bewilder Jackie. However, Jackie isn't quite dead. But he is in very bad shape. The Darkness is also very weak from being drained from Jackie and this allows Knobby to come in to talk to Jackie. He tells you that the Asylum was built to keep you occupied and away from Hell and Jenny. He doesn't know why but he believes that The Darkness is afraid of something and that Jenny is a part of that. It wants to keep you apart. Jackie wants to know how to get to Hell to save Jenny. But Knobby begs off saying that he has already said too much. Even though Knobby cannot be killed in the real world he can be destroyed inside The Darkness. But in this weakened state Knobby can come in to communicate with Jackie without harm. After the conversation ends then proceed forward to return to the real world. You will find yourself back inside the Iron Maiden. You cannot get out but you can take control of Knobby to help free yourself. You will start off underneath a set of stairs. Go out and you will enter a large room. There are a pair of Portable Lights that need to be avoided as well as three Soldiers. Head to the fireplace, while avoiding the Soldiers, to find the door to go down into the Basement. When you finally get down into the Basement then you will be in the wine cellar. It is a large area with plenty of lights that need to be avoided. But there are also little drainage tunnels in the walls you can use to avoid the lights and get around the area. There are also plenty of Soldiers here in the cellar. You can easily stalk them and kill them. There are also green supports that you can use to knock barrels onto Soldiers. There are also plenty of Ammo Boxes and weapons but you can't grab them. After killing all of the Soldiers in this area then you should be close to a gate with a green bar. But near it is a light with an Electrical Box underneath. The good news is that the light tends to flicker on and off. When the light goes off then run to the Box and slash it to turn off the light then destroy the green bar to proceed into the next area. Climb the green pipe to enter the shaft then drop down into a drainage tunnel. Proceed forward to find Jackie. Now you need to free him. From here then head into a nearby drainage tunnel to enter another room. There are two Soldiers here and they can be quickly dispatched. Then head into the room across from the table with the light to find a Relic: ============= ++[Pope John XII]++ ============= After grabbing the Relic then turn left and proceed through the drainage tunnel to enter the next room. Turn left to find the entrance into the area where Jackie is kept. But it is covered by a light. However, there is a line in the roof that will lead to an Electrical Box where you can shut it off. Carefully proceed through the room, avoiding lights, and enter into another drainage tunnel. Continue forward through halls and tunnels until you reach another large room. Inside are three Soldiers then you can easily take care of. After killing them off then look around. You will see the line and the Electrical Box through a hole in the wall. But you can't climb up there. To the right of the Electrical Box is a hallway. Go into the hallway to find a pipe to get up there. When you get up there then destroy the Electrical Box. When you do that then you will be Jackie again. Victor finally drains The Darkness from Jackie and instructs another minion to burn him so The Darkness cannot return to its host. When you get back to Knobby then you need to rescue Jackie. Make your way back to the previous room to find new enemies including two Spotlights. Take your time and get behind the Spotlights so you can kill them. Then finish off the Soldiers. When you get back to the boards then destroy them and make your way to Jackie. Kill the Soldier to free him. And, when do that, then you will get the following: >>"Back in the Saddle" Accomplishment *********************************** From here then head up the stairs back to the cellar. Then follow the path until you reach an office that belonged to Carlos Estacado, Jackie's father. Look in one corner of this office to find a Relic: ============================== ++[Reliquary of the Blessed Blood]++ ============================== After acquiring the Relic then grab the Model 1887 from the wall. This will give you a much needed weapon. The good news is that you won't have to worry about the light when you do any combat. The bad news is that you won't have any Darkness Powers to give you an edge. Proceed into the hallway and find a Soldier standing in the next room. Kill him and the other two Soldiers with the Shotgun. Then pick up the M1911 and HK Ump and dual wield them. Go through the hallway and, when you turn the corner, then you will find three Soldiers in the next room. Hang back near the corner and pick them off with headshots. Grab some ammo from the Ammo Box and proceed to the next short hallway that leads to the next room. When you get to the hallway, which will have an Ammo Box, then two more Soldiers will appear from the next room. Stay near the Ammo Box and pick them off. Walk past the Ammo Box and three more Soldiers will appear. Go back behind the Ammo Box and pick them off the same way as the ones before. After killing them off them proceed through the passageways back to the Wine Cellar where you will find Victor giving Peevish Darkness Powers. Now you need to fight Peevish in a boss battle. He will go from place to place and fire his weapons at you. However, he is also glowing from the Darkness which will make him easy to find. And he is easy to battle, even at Don difficulty, especially with the Model 1887 which is the best weapon to use against him (look out for the Ammo Boxes to replenish your weapons). But he also summons Darklings which will run up to explode against you. They are irritating since you will have to use up ammo destroying them before they can hurt you. They are not hard to destroy but come at a enough of a regular pace to piss you off. At Thug difficulty you can just ignore them - they do very little damage here. Peevish will also use Swarm against you but he only seems to use it once so it isn't much of an issue. When you finally kill off Peevish then go over and reclaim The Darkness. But, even though you have your Darkness powers back, you still don't have The Darkness itself - it is still trapped inside the Siphon. Find Knobby and destroy the gate near him to proceed into the next area. 0=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=0 / Chapter Sixteen \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >CHP16. You will also notice that some of the windows at the far end are shining brightly. It is now daytime and you need to avoid the sunlight. You will also hear The Brotherhood nearby. You will be quickly attacked by three Soldiers who will rush you then two more will attack from the far end on the upper level. Pick them off after Executing the first three. After you kill off this group then a Clubber and a pair of Soldiers will rush to your position. After Executing him then a Shotgun Runner will show up. Use your firearms against him then proceed to the other end of the room. Quickly go through the sunlight and turn left then head up the stairs. You need to destroy a wall to get across. When you do that then you will be attacked by five Soldiers and a Whipper. Return to the kitchen to Execute the Whipper who will follow you. It is important to note that the Soldiers can shoot at you from above so you need to stay out of their sight. After killing the Whipper then finish off the Soldiers. You can either do it from below, wait for them to come down to you, or head upstairs to finish them off. When you get to the top of the stairs then turn right almost 180 degrees to find a Relic: ================ ++[The Silent Night]++ ================ After grabbing the Relic then proceed to the door at the end of the floor. As you approach the open door then you will be attacked by a Shotgun Runner and two Soldiers. After dispatching them then enter the hallway and turn left at the corner. Then go through the hole in the wall to enter a small room where you will find a Talent Shrine and an Ammo Box. Go through the next hole and then enter a large room. This is also the large room where you started as Knobby earlier in the game. There are two large windows with sunlight as well as three Ammo Boxes and multiple throwable objects including Riot Shields. Near the center of the room is a table with a picture. Pick it up and you will be confronted by Victor and The Brotherhood. Victor informs Jackie that his father approached The Brotherhood in an attempt to save Jackie from The Darkness. Twenty years later they finally found the Siphon of Light and are here to claim that debt. Victor then knocks Jackie down into a beam of sunlight and orders his men to finish him off. From the start, angle left and head towards the pillars. That should provide some cover as The Brotherhood attack. The first group involves a Shotgun Runner and a Clubber Runner. Put the pillar between you and the Shotgun Runner as you Execute the Clubber Runner. Stay behind the pillar to pick off the Shotgun Runner. He tends to stay near the fireplace so he shouldn't be too difficult. The next group involves five Soldiers. It is probably best to stay behind the pillars and Execute them as they approach. Use Black Hole on them if the opportunity presents itself. The next group involves three Soldiers and two Whippers. Focus on the Whippers first to prevent them from taking your weapons then Execute the others. The next group will involve three Soldiers. After Executing that group then two more Soldiers and two Clubbers will emerge. Keep your eyes out for the Clubbers since they tend to come up from behind while you are occupied with the Soldiers. As you finish them off then a single Shotgun Runner will appear. As you deal with him then a trio of Flash Bangs will be thrown at the other side of the room and one final group consisting of two Soldiers and a Knight will emerge. Use Swarm and Gun Channeling on this group to deal with them quickly. When you kill off this group then you will finally survive the ambush. **Info: Don Difficulty (New Game+) ******************************** To me this was the most difficult part of the game at this difficulty. Starting off in the sunlight gave the enemies an opportunity to instantly knock off a quarter of my health before I got into cover. As soon as you get out of the sunlight then instantly use Swarm to distract them as you go into cover. Use the Darkness Shield Execution to obtain a shield and use your firearms. Stay very close to the pillar for cover and try to get each of the enemies in one on one situations, preferably for Health Executions. Use Swarm and Gun Channeling the moment they finish recharging. Hopefully the game will spawn enough Black Holes to make things easier. You will more than likely end up dying a few times before you can get through this. If you're wondering "why not hole up under the stairs?", you can't. That cubbyhole where Knobby started is instantly blocked off when the ambush starts. So much for that idea. After the ambush ends then grab a Pole and head to the door at the end of the room. You will drop the Pole when you get into the sunlight but grab it back when you get near the door. Go through the door and turn the corner where you will find a Talent Shrine. From here then slowly head up the stairs and this sets up the following: >>"2 Guys 1 Pole" Accomplishment (2) ********************************** If you didn't get earlier in the game then this is the best place to get this Accomplishment. When you get to the top of the stairs then you will find a trio of Soldiers just standing around on the ground floor. Turn to your left to find a pair of boards. Carefully walk along the boards to reach the other side then look down and line up two of the Soldiers. Line up your crosshairs on them and then throw the Pole. You should kill both of them and the Accomplishment will pop up. Finish off the last Soldier with your firearms before proceeding. However, before jumping down to Eat the Hearts of the now three dead Soldiers, turn left and go around the corner to find a Relic through a hole in the wall: ==================== ++[The Deceiver's Grasp]++ ==================== After acquiring the Relic then jump down, Eat the Hearts, then proceed into the next room. Just as you enter then you will be attacked by a Whipper, a Clubber, and three Soldiers. Go back into the previous room and Execute the Clubber when he enters then pick off the Whipper with your firearms. Then go in and Execute the Soldiers. On one side of this room is am Ammo Box. As you proceed through this room then you will be attacked by two Soldiers and a Shotgun Runner. Use one of the pillars as cover as you take care of the Soldier and Runner on the ground floor. The other Soldier is upstairs so you can either take him out from below or wait for him to come down so you can Execute him. Near the base of the stairs at the end of the room is an Ammo Box and a Riot Shield which will be to your right. When you get to the top of the stairs then you will be attacked by a Whipper, a Knight, and two Soldiers. Go back downstairs and deal with the Whipper and Knight when they come down to chase you. Then go and Execute the remaining Soldiers. When you get upstairs then you will be attacked by four Soldiers who will appear one by one on the other side of the floor. Use one of the small rooms to serve as cover as you pick them off (one of them also has an Ammo Box). When you get to the next corner then a Clubber Runner will appear. As you are backing away and killing him off then two Shotgun Runners will appear on the other side of the floor. After killing them off then proceed to the door on the other side. Destroy it and head up the path and stairs into the next area. 0=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=0 / Chapter Seventeen \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >CHP17. "Last Stand" 0 \-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-/ \ Relics - 1 / \ Chapter Seventeen / 0=-=-=-=-=-0 0=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=0 Follow the way into the Attic. Victor will pause at one end of a hallway and throw blades at you. Use the Demon Arm to destroy them. When you get close enough to him then he will vanish. Continue going along the hallway and you will enter a small room with multiple weapons, and Ammo Box, and a Talent Shrine. Destroy the boards nearby to enter the Attic. Here you will finally face off against Victor. But, before you do any actual combat, and just after you drop down, turn to your right to find a Relic tucked in a nearby corner: ========= ++[The First]++ ========= As he continues talking then continue to explore the L-shaped room. You will find multiple Ammo Boxes around the room. There are also multiple throwable objects here as well. After Victor finishes talking then he will send out two Clubbers and two Soldiers. When you Execute them then Victor attacks. He tends to teleport to one end of the room and either sends out the blades he used earlier or use a more spread out version of them. Pillars only have limited protection against that form of attack. After awhile then he will teleport to you and use some sort of melee attack to damage you. Use Swarm and Gun Channeling against Victor since that is the most effective on him. When he uses the blades then go around the corner of the room to get away from him. When he comes in close then run away before he can damage you with his melee attack. Continue moving around, to avoid his attacks, while waiting for your Swarm and Gun Channeling to recharge. After taking off half of his health then he will send two more Soldiers and Clubbers to attack. When you Execute them then he will send another group of two Soldiers and Clubbers. After you kill them then Victor will re-appear to attack. After you take off some more of his health then he will send a couple of Darklings. He will then continue his attack after you kill them off. He will continue with this pattern of sending out Darklings until you finally remove the last of his health. When you do that then he will teleport to one side of the room and have just a sliver of health left. Shoot him to finally defeat him and gain 500 Essence Points. Pick up the Siphon to start a cutscene. Jackie kills Victor and then kills himself with the Siphon to go to Hell to rescue Jenny and this ends the chapter. And you will also get the following: >>"Step into Hell..." "Revelations" 0 \-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-/ \ Chapter Eighteen / 0-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=0 However, Jackie ends up back in the Asylum instead. This angers and frustrates Jackie because he thought that he will finally end up in Hell so he could rescue Jenny. Jackie's outburst also upsets the staff so they sedate him. After Doctor James sedates Jackie then follow him. He will lead you to Doctor Vick who looks like Victor. After the conversation ends then follow Doctor James to Jenny's office. As you get close to the office then Knobby bursts from the stairwell and instructs Jackie to follow him. If you're wondering, this is where you can see Knobby's name appear on the screen and hence where I got it for the guide. When Knobby gets to the door then he will open it for you. But the sunlight will knock him down to your position. Because the two of you are inside The Darkness this action will mortally injure Knobby. After some parting words then he vaporizes and dies. Jackie will then run upstairs and to the edge of the roof. This sets up a standoff between you and the staff. Jenny also runs up to try to get Jackie away from the edge. This also sets up a choice: Stay with Jenny or Reject the Asylum. If you Stay with Jenny then the two of you will dance in the Recreation Room and the game will end. However, you won't get the New Game+ mode or the Accomplishment for finishing the game. This is because this is not the real ending. So, choose to Reject the Asylum to end the chapter. 0=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-0 / Chapter Nineteen \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >CHP19. "Heart of Darkness" 0 \-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-/ \ Relics - 2 / \ Chapter Nineteen / 0=-=-=-=-=-0 0-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=0 You are now in Hell. Finally. Proceed forward until you get the cutscene of Jenny. After the cutscene then immediately turn right and proceed forward to find a Relic: ===================== ++[Prism of the Brothers]++ ===================== After acquiring the Relic then proceed forward to Jenny where you will activate your Darkness powers and be attacked by three humanoid creatures that I call Hellspawn. Since you have no weapons at this point then you need to get close and Execute them. When they die then you can pick up Hell's version of handguns known as Kezefs. After defeating them then Jenny will be moved away and you can then move up the nearby path. Shortly after you start moving up then you will find a Talent. Not far from that you will see a giant egg. This is where the Hellspawn come from and they will emerge when you get close to it. When you get near this egg then you wil be attacked by three Hellspawn. Execute them and proceed forward. You can also find stick-like extensions on either side of the path that you can use to throw at them. After killing the Hellspawn then you will be attacked by a steady stream of Darklings. Slowly proceed up the path and shoot them before they get too close to you. After you get far enough up the path then you will be attacked by a single Clubber Hellspawn. Execute him then continue forward and you will encounter a blockage that you will need to destroy. You will also need to kill off the two Hellspawn that appear there including one with a Kafziel, Hell's version of a Sub-Machine gun. After Executing them then go to the blockage. But, just before you get there, turn right to find the last Relic in an open nook on the side of the path: ==================== ++[Ashes of the Unnamed]++ ==================== And, if you acquired all of the Relics up to his point, then you will finally earn the: >>"Relic Hunter" Accomplishment ***************************** After acquiring the Relic then destroy the blockage. When you do that then you will be attacked by three Hellspawn and a small group of Darklings. Kill them and then proceed up the path. When you get to the turn then you will be attacked by two more Hellspawn. After that then you can finally reach Jenny. When you reach her then you will be attacked by multiple Hellspawn and this opens up the following: >>"Versatile Killer" Accomplishment ********************************* For this one you need to kill five enemies in five different ways in thirty seconds. This is a good place to do it because there are lots of enemies in this enclosed space. And it's actually easier to do this at Don difficulty. Why? Because you will be forced to use everything at your disposal just to survive. I actually got this by accident when going through my Don difficulty playthrough. If you don't get this Accomplishment here then you can get it later in the chapter. After killing off the entire group then grab one of Jenny's binds and destroy it. This will cause The Darkness to move Jenny away from you again. This will open up a door and you can proceed up the path again. At the start of the path is another Talent Shrine. Proceed up a bit further and you will be attacked by two more Hellspawn and a small group of Darklings. One of the Hellspawn will carry a Mashhit, Hell's version of an Assault Rifle. Proceed up the path and destroy the blockage. After that then you will enter an open area where you will be attacked by three more Hellspawn. After Executing them then you will be attacked by a single Hellspawn Knight. After killing him then head to the other end to be attacked by three more Hellspawn. When they are Executed then you will be attacked by a steady stream of Darklings as the door at the end opens. Continue up the path killing Darklings and Hellspawn until you reach Jenny again. And, once more, you need to survive a fight with multiple Hellspawn, including a Knight, until you kill them all. After killing them all then destroy Jenny's second bind to finally complete the chapter and the game. And you will get the following as the credits roll: >>"Free the Mind" Accomplishment ****************************** And for Don difficulty: >>"Don of Darkness" Accomplishment ******************************** With the Main Story completed let's move onto the next section of the guide..... /==++====++==\ /==++====++==\ /==++====++====++====++====++====<<##0##>>====++====++====++====++====++==\ | >DKN3. Vendettas | \==++====++====++====++====++====<<##0##>>====++====++====++====++====++==/ \==++====++==/ \==++====++==/ The Vendettas and Hit List modes are the multiplayer portion of "The Darkness II". But you can play most of everything, and acquire all of the related Accomplishments, in single player. When you select the Vendettas from the Main Menu then you can either select to play online or offline. Then you can either select to do a New Campaign or Hit List. For now let's go into the New Campaign. Here you will be inside an undisclosed location with a poker table, a jukebox, a television set, and four individuals. These four people are part of Jackie's empire but are different from his standard workers. They are all very familiar with The Darkness. Each person has specific Darkness Powers but nowhere near what Jackie himself has. It is these powers that brought them to Jackie and now they work for him in his battle against other mobsters and The Brotherhood. The Darkness can communicate to them but does not have the same type of relationship as it does with Jackie. Each character has a special Darkness related weapon and one major Darkness Power. These characters can be upgraded through the Talent Shrines but their Talent Trees are not as extensive as Jackie's. You will also find four Relics exclusive to the Campaign that will allow you to upgrade quicker. It is also very important to point out that if you pick up a Relic then it will permanently disappear - it will not be available to be picked up by another character if you play the mission again in either the Campaign or Hit List. When upgrading I recommend doing the Darkness Power related talents first then the Weapon Belt while saving the multiplayer ones for last. You cannot eat Hearts like Jackie can but you can still Destroy them for your benefit. However, your Execution moves are Health Executions and give you more Essence Points than by just killing them with your special weapon and Destroying the Heart so try to Execute your enemies when you can. You can get more Essence Points from your enemies when you play the Vendettas and Hit List on the Don difficulty. But, since there is no difficulty based Accomplishment for these game modes, then you can just set the difficulty at Thug and wade into battle and do Executions to maximize your Essence Points. When you begin a mission then you will start off dual wielding your special weapon along with a Micro Uzi. The Fire Left button is your primary special weapon attack and the Demon Arm Melee allows you to melee attack to weaken and stun enemies. You will also be provided with a Defender Shotgun but I recommend picking up an Assault Rifle, especially a Carbine, at the earliest opportunity. I also recommend picking up an HK Ump or MP7 as early as possible too. These characters are also hurt by the light just like Jackie. While in the light you won't be able to regenerate health or recharge your Darkness Power. It is best to destroy every light that you can even though you don't get any Essence Points for doing so unlike with Jackie. But you can get a random "Blinded by the Light" Essence Bonus if you kill enemies while in the light. In addition to the regular Portable Lights that you saw in the Main Story you will also find Large Portable Lights. They are larger than the regular ones but the Generator is at the base of the light instead of off at another location. In online play each character has specific powers that can benefit the group as a whole. These powers only work when standing close to that character. In addition, each person has an innate talent specific to him or her. Each person has specific strengths and weaknesses that must be considered when choosing one for the Campaign. There are a total of eight missions in the Campaign and it all must be done with one character. If you want to use a different character then you will have to start over. All of the Essence Points that you gain can transfer between the Campaign and Hit List modes. The missions for the Campaign and Hit List run parallel to Jackie's Main Story. All of the missions for both the Vendettas were written while playing as Shoshanna at Thug difficulty. But they have been written to be more character neutral. All of the Essence Points you earned from the first runthrough will carry over. You can then replay this simple mission as many times as you like to get most, if not all, of the upgrades for your selected character. If you manage to perform Executions on every enemy in this mission then you should get close to 1,200 Essence Points. A few runthroughs should allow you to get most of the major upgrades then go through the Campaign to get the rest. >>Hell Hath No Fury... ******************** Description: Complete a mission as Shoshanna. "Here's Johnny" 0 \-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-/ \ Mission One / 0=-=-=-=-=-=0 When you start this chapter then you will be at the front of a Junkyard with a Talent Shrine to your left. You don't have any Essence Points yet so proceed forward past the Shrine. When you get to the white van then you will be attacked by multiple Goons. After Executing them all then head up the nearby stairs to destroy the Generator for the outside light. Move forward past the van and you will see a large crane. At the end of its arm is a ruined car. Go to the car and turn right to find a couple of tables with Kalashnikovs and Ammo Boxes. You will also find a Generator for another light which is by the gate you need to open. Go to the gate and destroy the Electronic Lock to open it. When you get through this gate then it will close up behind you and you will be attacked by multiple Goons. Use the various junk as cover as you Execute them all. After killing them then open the next gate. Destroy the lock and go through the gate. After going through the gate then it will close up behind you. Just like the last area there are multiple Goons here. And, just like before, use the junk as cover as you Execute them one by one. Inside the larger building, near the van, is a table with two Ammo Boxes. Also look for and destroy the two Generators for the outside lights. After killing off the Goons then find the smaller building, almost opposite from the larger one, and destroy the lock to open the door. Here you will find Johnny Powell. In addition, by the door, are two Ammo Boxes. After finding Johnny then you will be attacked by more Goons. A lot more. You can use the doorway as cover and pick them off with your firearms or go out and perform Executions on them. At Thug difficulty you should probably go out and perform Executions to get the most Essence Points for upgrading. After killing most of the Goons then you should see three purple markers appear on the screen. This indicates that these are the last of your attackers. When you kill them then go back to Johnny and free him. This also ends the chapter. Later, Johnny will inform you that he was investigating a large source of Dark Essence when he was kidnapped. He now wants you to finish what he started..... 0=-=-=-=-=-=0 / Mission Two \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >CGN2. There will also be crates with weapons and Ammo Boxes nearby. I recommend picking up the Kalashnikov. Now that you have some Essence Points then you can start upgrading yourself by don't do it quite yet. Proceed along the rooftop and find the two Goons up here. Execute them then return to the Talent Shrine for upgrading. Then go back up the rooftop to find the Elevator and destroy the controls to enter it. You should now enter a Warehouse for the Printworks. From the Elevator, proceed forward and around the first corner to find a couple of Goons. After Executing them then you should see a bunch of pallets just ahead. Near them is a door. Go through it and enter the main Printing Room. You will be on the upper level and inside a corner building. There will be a crate with a couple of Ammo Boxes in the corner. Go through the nearby door to enter the Printing Room. You will also find multiple Goons guarding the area. As you go along the perimeter of the upper level then you will find smaller buildings that you can use for cover as you kill off the Goons. You will also find weapons and Ammo Boxes in most of them. One of them will contain a Carbine so pick that up. Use your Sub-Machine Gun to shoot out the lights and perform Executions on the Goons. After killing off the Goons then head to one side of the upper level and find the Circuit Breaker to overload the Printer. After overloading the Breaker and rerouting the power then you will be attacked by more Goons including some on the catwalks above you. Use one of the smaller buildings as cover as you pick off the ones on the catwalks using the Carbine then finish off the others with Executions. Then head to the other side and overload the secondary Circuit Breaker. After overloading that and rerouting the power then go and pick up the Darkness Artifact from the destroyed Printer. But, when you do that, then you will be attacked by four Hellspawn. They are all Clubbers so they will simply run up to you. Smack them with the Carbine to weaken then Execute them. When they are dead then the mission is completed. Later, you will be informed that this Darkness Relic has ties to another mobster named Luigi Palladino. You need to find more information on him and how he ties into all of this..... 0=-=-=-=-=-=-=0 / Mission Three \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >CGN3. "Dead-End Job" 0 \-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-/ \ Mission Three / 0=-=-=-=-=-=-=0 When you start this chapter then you will be at the end of a street and with a Talent Shrine ahead of you. I recommend holding off on using it for awhile. Go just past the Shrine and you will find several Goons. Destroy the street light above them to get things started. After Executing this group then several more of Luigi's men will appear. After Executing them then pick up the Kalashnikov that at least one of them drops. You can also go and use the Talent Shrine if you have enough Essence Points to do any upgrading. Then return to where you were just before and enter the ruined Basketball Courts. In one corner is a container crate with a Goon on top. Shoot him then head to the next corner to find another container crate. Near it is a couple of Ammo Boxes. When you get close then the crate will open and three more of Luigi's men will emerge. Execute them then go through the crate and turn right to enter the next street. As you proceed along the street then you will come across two Goons. Execute them then continue to the white van ahead. If you turn left at the van then you will enter a dead-end area with four Goons. Execute them for additional Essence Points. Proceed to the end of the street and you should find a Construction Trailer. Luigi is inside but you can't get at him. You need to find Dolfo so he can help you. Proceed past the trailer to find the Playground area with several Large Portable Lights. As you enter the Playground then you will be attacked by multiple Goons. Execute them while destroying the Lights. At one corner of this area is another Large Portable Light. This one is near a path. Follow the path and near the end are multiple Goons waiting for you. Execute them then proceed to the gate, where you will find an Ammo Box, and talk to Dolfo. After you pick up the Explosives from him then proceed back to Luigi's Trailer. However, you will need to kill off everyone along the way. Head back up through the Playground and Execute all of the Goons you come across. When you get back up to the Construction Trailer then multiple Goons will emerge to attack you. There are also a couple of Ammo Boxes on a pallet near the trailer should you need it. After Executing them then you need to plant the bomb on the door to blow open the Trailer to get at Luigi. Although, if you want, you can go all the way back to the beginning of the level and upgrade yourself at the Talent Shrine first. Plant the bomb on the Trailer and quickly run from it. After the explosion then go inside and pick up the Darkness Artifact and kill Luigi. But, when you do that, then you will be attacked by several more Clubber Hellspawn. Go into the street as this will give you room and kill them as they approach by meleeing and Executing them. After killing them off then the mission will end and you will get the following: >>"Burned His Mansion" Accomplishment *********************************** Later, Johnny informs you that everything that you found are linked to The Brotherhood. Vinnie also informs you that Swifty and Luigi worked for Cedro Valdez and that you need to find him..... 0=-=-=-=-=-=-0 / Mission Four \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >CGN4. "No Brothers of Mine" 0 \-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-/ \ Relics - 1 / \ Mission Four / 0=-=-=-=-=-0 0-=-=-=-=-=-=0 When you start this chapter then you will be outside the Broadside Paperworks building. Proceed forward to the door but, if you stop before it and turn right, then you should see a Talent Shrine and a couple of crates with Ammo Boxes and weapons nearby. One of them should have a Carbine so pick that up to replace the Defender. Go through the door and you will finally encounter The Brotherhood who will be roaming the Warehouse where the paper is kept. With the exception of a single Clubber all of the enemies, and there are lots of them, will be Soldiers. Use the giant rolls of paper as cover as you go around and perform Executions on everybody. After killing them then need to go into the Elevator. But you should look around first. You will notice that this is the same Warehouse you were at during Mission Two. Find the stairs leading up to the catwalks above and turn right when you get to the top and go through the doors near the corner. When you do that then you should find the door that you went through to go into the Printing Room (which is now closed). And you should find the large group of pallets near it (on the right side of the door). On one side of the pallets is where you will find a Relic: ========= ++[Moon Rock]++ ========= After acquiring the Relic then go back downstairs and to the Elevator. Go inside to proceed to the next area. When you exit the Elevator then you will find yourself back on the rooftop that you were on earlier in Mission Two. Turn right and head down to the next level to find several Soldiers. Execute them then proceed to the other end of the rooftop and where you started Mission Two. Go to the wall and look out over the next area. Here you should see several cars and a large crane. A couple of the vehicles have lights that cannot be destroyed. However, there are several lights that can be destroyed so blow them out now before going down the stairs and entering this area. After destroying the lights then find the stairs leading down to the ground level. When you get down to ground level then head forward through the next gate and into the next area. Here you will be ambushed by multiple Soldiers and one Clubber. Use the cars and vans as cover as you Execute the Soldiers on the ground. After killing off the ground units then shoot the ones on the upper levels that ring around this area. When you finish off all of the Soldiers then Cedro himself will come to attack you. He will be your first Boss Battle in the Campaign (technically your second but there was no way to really fight Luigi). Cedro is very well armored with Darkness Armor. Use the Carbine to knock off the Armor and kill him as you use the cars and crates as cover. It should be pointed out that there is no Essence Point difference between killing him with your regular firearms and killing him with your Darkness weapon. After killing Cedro then investigate the nearby News Van. Investigating the van will complete the mission and this will give you the following: >>"Coward" Accomplishment *********************** Later, Johnny will confirm your suspicions that The Brotherhood have found the Spear of Destiny. Now you need to head over to the Newswatch 6 building to investigate further...... 0=-=-=-=-=-=-0 / Mission Five \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >CGN5. "Hostile Takeover" 0 \-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-/ \ Relics - 1 / \ Mission Five / 0=-=-=-=-=-0 0-=-=-=-=-=-=0 When you start this chapter then you will be at the entrance of an underground parking garage and you will find a Talent Shrine ahead of you. Proceed forward into the garage and you will find it turned into some sort of maze that you have to navigate through. There will also be plenty of lights that you can't destroy. Just ahead are three Soldiers. Execute them then proceed around the bend to find a crate with three Ammo Boxes. Continue forward from here to find several Soldiers. Go back near the Ammo Boxes, and away from the lights, and Execute them as they approach. There is also a Generator tucked in a corner near this group that you should destroy. After this group then proceed to the next bend where you someone will throw some Flash Bangs and you will be attacked by a group of enemies including two Clubber, two Soldiers, and a Whipper. Back away from the Flash Bangs so you can quickly deal with the Clubbers then go after the Whipper before Executing the remaining Soldiers. When you get back to the bend then you will enter a long straightaway. There will be several Portable Lights in this area but the Generators are in plain enough sight so you can destroy them without any problems. Halfway along this area then you will be attacked by multiple enemies including two Clubbers, a Whipper, and several Soldiers. Some of the Soldiers will drop Strikers so pick that up when you kill them. At the end of the straightaway you will find a Portable Light. The Generator is right next to it on the left so you can quickly destroy it while dealing with the Soldiers. After killing off this group then head along the path and down into the lower level of the garage. Along the way you will find several Ammo Boxes spread throughout the area. Head into the far corner to find the door and you will confront Graves. He will then send out his men to deal with you. First, you will deal with four Rifle Runners. Use the pillars and cars as cover as you pick them off with your firearms. When they are dead then you will face two Clubber Runners. When you have Executed them then another pair of Clubber Runners will emerge. After you have Executed them then go through the door. Two Soldiers will emerge from a nearby elevator. After you Execute them then go to the opposite elevator and take it up. When the door opens then you will confront two Soldiers and a Spotlight. Go to either side of the door and shoot at least one of the two Soldiers then kill the Spotlight and finish things off. Proceed through the hallway and you will come to an intersection. If you go to your right then you will find an Ammo Box. Go left and proceed to the next hallway where you will find several Soldiers and a Spotlight. After Executing them then continue forward where you will enter the news area. Turn left to find three Soldiers and a Knight. To deal with the Knight it is best to use your Darkness Powers. This will also help in getting rid of this entire group. After you get rid of this group then turn the next corner to find another group of enemies including several Soldiers and a Knight. You may want to hang around the previous corner and let the Soldiers approach for easier kills. After killing off the Soldiers then go around and kill off the Knight. About halfway through this hallway then you will be attacked by a single Clubber. Execute him then continue along the way to find two Ammo Boxes by a vending machine. Proceed forward through the door to enter the Editor's Pit. From this door then turn right and head to the next corner. Then turn left and proceed forward to the end of the group of cubicles then stop. Turn left to find a large pillar. At the base of the pillar, and in front of some filing cabinets, is a Relic: ============= ++[Mummified Cat]++ ============= After acquiring the Relic then proceed forward past the dividing wall and into the Lobby where you will find a giant aquarium. The doors will then close behind you and you will be attacked by The Brotherhood. You will be attacked by a Clubber Runner then another one after you Execute the first one. Then a couple of Soldiers will appear and a couple of Shotgun Runners will come up behind them. The aquarium will provide some cover but, if it takes enough gunfire, then it will be destroyed. In the next room you should find some curved stairs to either your left or right. Go under one of them for some cover. There is also an Ammo Box on the top of each stairs. After this group is killed off then a group of two Soldiers and a Knight will appear. When they are killed off then proceed to the end of the Lobby and up the stairs to the roof. When you get to the roof then destroy the door. When the door is destroyed then you will find a Soldier ahead of you. Kill him then run out and hide behind the air unit to your right since the stairwell is brightly lit and you can't be in the light for too long. In addition to the one Soldier in front of you then you will also find another Soldier nearby. After Executing them then angle left across the rooftop to find the stairs leading into the next area. You will also be shot at by additional Soldiers on the upper rooftop but they will come down when you get to the stairs. Near the next set leading down then you will find three crates with weapons and Ammo Boxes. One of the crates should have a Carbine so go and pick that up. After that then go down into the next section of rooftop leading to the Helipad. When you get there then you will face off against a very large number of enemies. Find a large air unit as cover, switch to your Assault Rifle, and blow out the light underneath the helicopter to keep it from shining on you. Then shoot at the enemies on the Helipad until you kill them off. Then comes the hardest part - surviving the rest of this attack. Most of the enemies that will come to attack you are going to be Soldiers but keep your eye out for the Clubbers and Whippers that will come with this group. Even at Thug difficulty it is not too bad but it is still annoying. You will also find multiple Ammo Boxes throughout the area should you need them. When you finally kill off this group then Graves will taunt you then send out a group of four Rifle Runners to confront you. Because they will attack as one group it is best to use your Assault Rifle to knock off their armor and chase them off so they can't stand there and fire at you constantly. Another option is to use your Darkness Powers on them to weaken and/or kill off the entire group. A good place to deal with them is under the Helipad where there is plenty of cover. There are also two rooms in the corners by the Helipad but you can't really use them because the indestructible lights within will keep you from regenerating your health. When you have finally killed them off then the mission is successfully completed. Later, Dolfo will then tell you to meet him at the Docks and this starts the next mission..... 0=-=-=-=-=-=0 / Mission Six \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >CGN6. "A Real Rain Has Come" 0 \-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-/ \ Relics - 1 / \ Mission Six / 0=-=-=-=-=-0 0=-=-=-=-=-=0 When you start this chapter then you should find Dolfo on the other side of the gate, several weapons on the ground, a couple of Ammo Boxes, and a Talent Shrine. You should have lots of Essence Points to do some major upgrading now since you weren't really able to do so in the previous mission. You should also pick up the MP7 and Striker. From here then turn around and head towards the Docks. Here you will find a large area with stacks of container crates. Turn to your left to find a Large Portable Light. When you go to destroy it then several Soldiers will emerge to attack. The pallets and smaller crates will provide cover as you Execute them. When they are dead then another container crate will open up and a couple of Clubbers will come through. After Executing them then go through the open crate to go to the next area. However, there is a Large Portable Light to the right so you should stay just inside and Execute the Soldiers and Clubbers that approach. When most of the enemies are dead then venture forth and destroy the Large Portable Lights. Follow the way and you will find a Large Portable Light near a white van. There will be several Soldiers nearby. Execute them then turn left at the Light to find another open crate into the next area. When you get to the next area then you will be attacked by several Soldiers and a Knight. Go back into the next area so you can let the Soldiers approach for easier killing then finish off the Knight who should be last. After killing off the Knight then go back into the next area then turn right. Proceed forward through the next gate and Graves will send out Jean-Luc Lambert and Amelie Dubois to confront you. Now you have to face two Bosses this time. They will teleport from rooftop to rooftop to shoot down at you. Go under the overhang and stay close to one of the large crates so they will have fewer windows of opportunity to shoot you. Then use your Striker to shoot a few shots at them before they teleport to another area. Continue with this until you take off about a third of the health of each of them then they leave to another area. Grab some ammo from the Ammo Box in the center of this area before going back to the main container crate area. Just as you get to the forklift by the gate then you should Jean-Luc and Amelie appear on the container crates ahead of you. Just like before they will teleport from place to place. But their health will be fully restored. Stay near the forklift as cover as you whittle enough of their health away while using the Striker to chase them off again. When they have been chased off then you need to go back to near where you started. From the forklift you used as cover then head forward and just past the Large Portable Light and turn right. Proceed forward and turn left at the open door and you should find a ramp that is a shortcut back to your starting point. You will note that there is a closed gate now. But, when it opens, then you will be attacked by three Soldiers and a Knight. After killing them off then go forward and around the big rig to find the door going into the Boathouse. When you go through the door then you should find two Ammo Boxes on the pallets ahead of you. Beyond them, on the opposite side of the chain-link fence is a Whipper. Execute him then enter the Boathouse itself to find three Soldiers. After Executing the Soldiers then head to the *MIDDLE* set of stairs. But, when you get to the base, stop. Turn right and walk forward to drop down onto the lower level. Turn right and follow the corner then turn right when you walk past the crates. Then turn right again at the intersection. Ahead of you, in front of some crates, is a Relic: ================= ++[Two Headed Dragon]++ ================= After acquiring the Relic then find the set of stairs that go up to the upper level. When you get to the top then hug the opaque part of the wall to your left. At this point then Jean-Luc and Amelie will appear again, this time in Darkness Armor. They will also close off the doors leading back down with Darkness magic. The two rooms up here have a lot of windows but you will have some cover here by this opaque wall portion. Use your Striker to chase them off when they try to fire at you. Eventually one of them will go to the other side of the Boathouse and you can they deal with the one on your side. Use the Striker to knock off the Armor and kill the first one then go around to the other side and kill off the other. Unlike with Cedro you can Destroy the Hearts of both Jean-Luc and Amelie. After killing them off then break open a shipping crate to get the Manifest. When you get it then the mission will be completed and you will get the following: >>"Bonnie & Clyde Wannabes" Accomplishment **************************************** Later, Vinnie will inform you that one of the packages went to the Manhattan Trust bank. The bank, and the TV station you tore through earlier, is owned by Graves. "Forced Entry" 0 \-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-/ \ Mission Seven / 0=-=-=-=-=-=-=0 When you start this chapter then you find that lower Manhattan has been locked down by Graves. Just ahead of you is a Talent Shrine. Turn left and you will be on the subway platform. Here you will find four Soldiers. Execute them and proceed all the way to the other end of the platform area (and blowing out all of the lights along the way). When you get to the end then find the door to the right of the locked gate to find Dolfo. Now you need to protect him as you head to the bank. But he will carry a Carbine and can help distract and weaken your enemies. Shortly after you meet up with him then you will be attacked by several enemies including a two Clubbers, a Spotlight, and a Knight. Use your Darkness Powers on the group and Execute those who survive the onslaught. Pick up the HK Ump from the dead Knight. After dealing with this group then proceed to the other half of the platform to find several more Soldiers waiting. Execute them and you should find the gate to the subway entrance open. When Dolfo sets up cover at the base of the stairs then you can go to the Talent Shrine nearby if you want. Go up the stairs and turn right to kill off three more Soldiers. When you get to their position then you will be attacked by a Clubber and a Whipper. Near the turnstiles will be at least three more Soldiers. Just past the turnstiles are several more Soldiers and an Ammo Box. When you kill them off and proceed forward then you will be attacked by more Soldiers plus one Knight. When you kill them off then proceed up into the street and to the Bank. As you get to the Bank entrance then Dolfo will show up and start to plant the bomb to blow open the door. You now have to protect him for two minutes as he sets things up. As you are protecting him then you will be constantly attacked by enemies, all of them Runners (Shotgun, Rifle, Clubber). The thing here is that you aren't really protecting Dolfo - they have no interest in him. It is you they want. Use the pillars as cover as you protect yourself from the Runners during this two minute span. It should be noted that there are a lot of indestructible lights in this area, especially at the outer edges. When the two minutes are up then the bomb will explode and you will then start the last mission of the Campaign..... 0=-=-=-=-=-=-=0 / Mission Eight \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >CGN8. Head up either set of stairs and you will find multiple Soldiers. As you Execute them then more enemies will show up including two Clubbers. You will find office cubicles just above the Talent Shrine. Here you will find a Kalashnikov, a Striker, a Model 1887, and an Ammo Box. Get the Striker as your Assault Rifle. As you battle through the lobby then you will encounter a Knight and several Runners including Shotgun and Clubbers. This also indicates that you are almost through fighting them off. After you kill off the last enemy then head behind the glass area to find the door leading to the Vault. When you get to the Vault then Unlock the Vault using the Control Panel. Proceed through the door to find multiple Soldiers within along with several Ammo Boxes. The Vault is brightly lit and most of the lights are indestructible. Stay close to the Ammo Boxes just inside the doorway as this will provide some good cover. After Executing the Soldiers then you will be attacked by four Runners, two of them Clubbers. When they are dead then three more Runner Clubbers will appear. When dealing with the Clubbers then you will have to move about in the light as you move backwards to keep them from hitting you. After killing off this group then you will have cleared the Vault of enemies. When you enter the back room then you find that the Spear of Destiny is gone. Plant the C4 on the back wall to get into the VIP Area. After the explosion then go through the hole and turn left to find a Relic on the ground: ========= ++[Ouroboros]++ ========= After acquiring the Relic then find and go up the elevator to enter into the next area. When you get up here then you will find yourself inside a large open area with statues and benches. There is also an upper level that goes around the edge of this area. You will have to kill off all of Grave's men before you can proceed further. Unfortunately, there are going to be a *LOT* of them. At first you will face off against a bunch of Soldiers and Clubbers. Stay under the upper level and use the pillars as cover as you Execute this group. Having all, or most, of your upgrades will be very helpful here. As this group thins out then there are going to be a bunch of additional Soldiers on the upper level shooting down at you. Stay underneath and pick them off from below with your Striker. There are plenty of Ammo Boxes all around to replenish your ammo. The unarmored Soldiers on top will have Carbines so grab one when you get the chance. As you thin this group out then several Flash Bangs will be thrown from above and several more enemies will emerge including a Whipper, a Knight, a Shotgun Runner, and several Soldiers. The Whipper will come down first by himself then the Knight. I recommend using your Darkness Power on this group. After getting rid of the Whipper and the Knight then head upstairs and get rid of the rest of the enemies. When you have finally gotten rid of them then replenish your ammo and go through the door and confront Graves. He will kill himself with the Spear of Destiny and this will throw you into Hell. When you land then you will find an open area with multiple Ammo Boxes ahead. But don't go after them. A large Hell Beast will land in this area and you need to kill him off. From where you start, turn left then proceed forward past the pillars then turn right and head to the corner then stop. You should be close to some of the Ammo Boxes. The Hell Beast has two forms of attack. The first is a white energy blast which does some damage but not a lot. The second is a red energy blast which will do a lot of damage, even fatal damage. Both types of energy blasts will knock your character backwards. You can tell what type of blast it will use a few seconds before it uses it. If it is going to use the red energy blast then it will rear up first. Stay real close behind the pillar to keep from being hit from either type of blast. But the Hell Beast is not the only thing that you have to contend with. You will be constantly attacked by a steady stream of Clubber Hellspawn. However, they are easy to kill but are still annoying. Mainly in that they often come in from behind you and can knock you into the energy blasts. Unfortunately, you will also have to contend with Darklings but, at Thug difficulty, they won't do much damage but they will come as a group and can take off a substantial amount of your health. The Hell Beast's energy blasts will also kill the Darklings and Hellspawn. Use your Assault Rifle on the Hell Beast exclusively. In-between blast attacks then go and grab some ammo from the nearby Ammo Boxes if you need to. When the Darklings attack, try to shoot a few of them to limit the amount of damage they can do. Don't shoot the Hellspawn when they approach - just melee them and they should drop quickly. Don't execute them either - you will need the Hearts to replenish your health and quickly recharge your Darkness Power. Listed below is battle information for each character: >>Inugami ******* His Swarm power doesn't affect the Hell Beast at all but can give you some reprieve against the Hellspawn. >>JP Dumond ********* His Black Hole power doesn't do any damage to the Hell Beast but it will keep it from attacking as long as it is being used. >>Jimmy Wilson ************ His Dark Axe can do damage to the Hell Beast but it is better to just use the Assault Rifle. Use the Assault Rifle to melee attack the Hellspawn because the Dark Axe is not as effective against them. >>Shoshanna ********* Her Gun Channeling power will make very quick work of the Hell Beast. Another good reason to use her for the Campaign. When you finally kill the Hell Beast then you will get 500 Essence Points and you will end the mission and the Campaign. And you will also get the following: >>"Should Have Called 555-2368..." Accomplishment *********************************************** Then you will end up back with your friends at the poker table. Vinnie will come to congratulate you and you will get the following: >>"The Brotherhood Crumbles" Accomplishment ***************************************** With the Vendettas completed let's move onto the next section of the guide..... /==++====++==\ /==++====++==\ /==++====++====++====++====++====<<##0##>>====++====++====++====++====++==\ | >DKN4. Hit List | \==++====++====++====++====++====<<##0##>>====++====++====++====++====++==/ \==++====++==/ \==++====++==/ When you select the Hit List then you will find yourself back in the poker room. When you select a character then you have the option to select a mission. There are eighteen missions divided into six areas. If you start here first instead of going into the Campaign then you will find that most of these missions are locked. Eight of the missions are from the Campaign and can only be unlocked in the Hit List only after playing them in the Campaign first. The remaining ten are exclusive to the Hit List. Four of them can only be played online and will remain locked in single player. The other six can be played single player in addition to multiplayer. The Hit List missions for the most part are shorter than the ones for the Campaign. Most of them are locked until you play through some of them. Any Essence Points leftover from the Campaign will carry over to the Hit List. And any Essence Points you earn in the Hit List will carry over to the Campaign. There are also two Relics exclusive to the Hit List missions. This section goes over the six missions that can be played as single player. Just like with the Campaign these missions were written up while playing them as Shoshanna at Thug difficulty. Now for the areas and missions: 0======================0 | Marshal Bros. "Enter the Gauntlet" (Marshal Bros. Salvage) 0 \-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-/ \ Relics - 1 / \ Mission One / 0=-=-=-=-=-0 0=-=-=-=-=-=0 When you start this mission then you will be outside the building just outside the main building for the Junkyard. You will also find a Talent Shrine off to your left. Proceed forward to find a single Goon just by the door. Execute him then go inside. As you enter the main hallway then you will encounter a Bat wielding Goon. You may also encounter a couple of more Goons, including one with a Carbine. After Executing them then head to the end of the main hallway. In one of the storage rooms you pass there will be an Ammo Box. At the end of the main hallway is the entrance to the car bays. Inside will be two Goons. Execute them then proceed to the stairs at the end of the bays. Climb the stairs then enter the small rooms and find the stairs leading back down to the other side of the bays. At the door leading outside will be several Goons. You can back up and use one of the nearby pallets for cover as you deal with them. At the far end, near a burning barrel, are a couple of oil barrels. You can blow them up from afar but you won't get as much Essence Points if you kill somebody with them. After killing these Goons off then proceed forward to find a white van. Near the opposite side of this van is a door for a small building. Go through this door and turn left to find a Relic on the ground: ============ ++[Horned Skull]++ ============ After acquiring the Relic then go through the other door and up the path. You will eventually find some ramps and a couple of Ammo Boxes. Climb up the ramps and drop down into the Junkyard. You will now be trapped inside as Frank sends out people to attack you. The Junkyard is a large place but I found that, in one corner, there is a large overhang with a Construction Trailer underneath that makes for very good cover as you defend yourself against your attackers. To start, there will be several Goons plus a Brotherhood Clubber. As you kill off the Goons then they will be replaced by Soldiers. There will be a lot of them to kill off. A whole lot. Stay near the Construction Trailer and kill those who come close to your position. After killing off all of the Soldiers then Frank himself will come to confront you. He won't be alone though. He will be accompanied by two Shotgun Runners and two Clubbers. Frank himself will be a well armored Whipper. Isolate and kill off the two Clubbers first since they are the ones that will approach you first. Then use the Construction Trailer as cover as you deal with the two Shotgun Runners from afar while keeping Frank from doing any damage to you. Using your Darkness Power will help thin them out and even affect Frank. After you kill the two Shotgun Runners then confront Frank, shoot off his Darkness Armor, and use your Carbine or Sub-Machine Gun to kill him. This will complete the mission and you will get the: >>"Whipping Boy" Accomplishment ***************************** 0=-=-=-=-=-=0 / Mission Two \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >HTL2. "All Clear" (Broadside Paperworks) 0 \-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-/ \ Mission Two / 0=-=-=-=-=-=0 When you start this mission then you will be on a street. You will find some Ammo Boxes and weapons to your left and a Talent Shrine ahead of you across the street from you. Proceed forward to the end of the street and turn left to find the back passage leading to the Warehouse. You will also find multiple Goons hiding out amongst the cars and pallets. Use the pallets as cover as you systematically Execute them. After finishing off the last of these Goons then find the door leading into the offices and destroy it. Destroy the next set of doors to enter the next room. Execute the Bat wielding Goon that you find then enter the main cubicle room where you will find multiple Goons. Use the cubicles as cover as you Execute them one by one. After finishing them off then proceed into the next hallway. Destroy the door ahead of you to enter the main Warehouse area. You will be in a corner room and will find four Ammo Boxes on pallets ahead of you. Go through either door to find the Warehouse area swarming with Goons. When they know of your arrival then you will be attacked first by a Bat wielding Goon. After Executing him then go through the warehouse and Execute the Goons one by one. After you kill them off then a lot more Goons will show up including four that will appear on an inaccesible catwalk. This catwalk is the path that leads to the Elevator you used in Campaign Mission Two. But there is a gate that keeps you from going to the Elevator. One suggestion is to go upstairs to the gate and shoot through the bars to kill these four Goons. The gate will provide cover as you kill them off. They can also shoot through the gate bars but not as well as you can. After finishing off these four then go around and Execute the remaining Goons to successfully complete this mission. 0=-=-=-=-=-=-=0 / Mission Three \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >HTL3. "Time to Take Out the Trash" (Riverside Houses) 0 \-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-/ \ Relics - 1 / \ Mission Three / 0=-=-=-=-=-0 0=-=-=-=-=-=-=0 When you start this mission then you will be just inside the gate leading into the projects. Just up ahead to the left is a Talent Shrine. Proceed up the path until you reach a Large Portable Light. Near it are several Goons including two Bat wielders. After Executing this group then head up into the Playground area. Just as you get to the top of the stairs then you should find a Large Portable Light immediately to your right. After destroying it then proceed forward and turn right at the corner of the building. You should see a set of stairs leading down to a closed door. When you get to this door then turn left to find a set of stairs leading back up. But, at the base of the stairs, you should find a Relic: ========== ++[Varja Bell]++ ========== After acquiring the Relic then proceed back up and into the Playground. Here you will find a couple of Goons. Execute them then proceed to the Demolition Area where you will find three more of them. One of them will drop an HK Ump so pick that one up. After killing them off then more will show up. They will hang out in the dead end area near the Construction Trailer. Just wade in and Execute them all. After killing off this group then a whole lot more Goons will show up. When you have finally Executed this group then the mission is successfully completed. 0=-=-=-=-=-=-0 / Mission Four \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >HTL4. "We Interrupt This Program" (Newswatch 6) 0 \-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-/ \ Mission Four / 0-=-=-=-=-=-=0 When you start this mission then you be on the Helipad for the building. A Talent Shrine will be to your left. When you get to the lower rooftop then you will find a single Guard who is nothing more than a Brotherhood servant. The Guards are easier to kill than the Soldiers because they don't wear Darkness Armor. Execute him then head up the stairs to the building with the alarm system. You'll need to kill off two more Guards before destroying the system. When you have finally destroyed the system then four more Guards will emerge from the stairwell leading into the building. After Executing him then head downstairs and into the Lobby. In the Lobby you will find five Guards including two by the aquarium. After Executing them one of them will drop an HK Ump so pick that one up. From the Lobby then head into the Editor's Pit. When you get through the door then a lot more Guards will show up. From the door you just entered, turn left and head for the shelves in the corner. On one side is an Ammo Box. Several Guards, including two Club wielders, will approach your position. The shelves will provide cover as you deal with them even with the indestructible lights overhead. When you enter the Pit itself then there will be more Guards including several on the upper walkway that goes around the Pit. Stay near the corners of the Pit to keep the ones above you from hitting you too much as you pick off the ones in the Pit. There are also a couple of Kalashnikovs that you can find in the cubicles should you need them. As you thin the group out then some of the Guards will jump down into the Pit to face you. After killing the last of this group then head through one of the glass doors to enter the next area. Proceed through the hallway and you will find the Studios. Just before you turn right to enter the next section of hallway you should find a desk to your left. You should find an MP7 on it. Go into the next section of the hallways and you will find Bud Langley and a couple of Guards. When attacked then Bud will try to kill you with a Bat. Use your Darkness Power on the group then back away down the hall and use your Assault Rifle to kill Bud who should be weakened by the use of your Power. After killing Bud then finish off the remaining Guards. You can also Destroy Bud's Heart for additional Essence Points. From here, head further down the hallway. Eventually you will find the Electronic Panel. Destroy it and enter the Studios through the nearest door. You will then find the health meters for both Tom and Sara appear on the screen as you go through the door. When you go through the door then you will find several Ammo Boxes nearby plus two Carbines tucked in a corner. Pick up a Carbine and head upstairs. Head into one of the control rooms and kill one of the Guards. When the Guard is killed then Tom will begin his attack. Both Tom and Sara are Runners but the Carbine can kill them quickly. Hiding out in a control room will help you in providing cover and limiting the number of attackers. After you kill off Tom and Sara then Brotherhood reinforcements will arrive. They include multiple Soldiers, Guards, and one Clubber. When you have Executed this group then the mission is successfully completed and you will get the following: >>"Technical Difficulties" Accomplishment *************************************** 0=-=-=-=-=-=-0 / Mission Five \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >HTL5. "Storming" (Old East Docks) 0 \-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-/ \ Mission Five / 0-=-=-=-=-=-=0 When you start this mission then you will be just inside the gate to the docks. Proceed forward to the open door where you will find a Talent Shrine. Go through the open door and follow the hallways until you find two more open doors. On the filing cabinets near them is a Carbine. Pick up the Carbine and go through the larger door to enter a room with a couple of Ammo Boxes. Go outside to find several enemies which are a mixture of Goons and Soldiers. It is also a very well lit area but the lights can be easily destroyed. There is plenty of cover that will allow you to seek out and Execute your enemies. When you have cleared out this group then more reinforcements will show up. A whole lot more. Thankfully they are nothing more than Soldiers so it isn't too bad. When you have Executed them then the mission is successfully completed. 0=-=-=-=-=-=0 / Mission Six \ /-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-\ | >HTL6. "Snatch and Grab" (Old East Docks) 0 \-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-/ \ Mission Six / 0=-=-=-=-=-=0 When you start this mission then you will be in the same place you were to start "Storming" except you will be facing another door. There will also be a Talent Shrine just before the door. Go through the door to find several crates with Ammo Boxes and weapons. Pick up the Carbine and destroy the next door. When you do that then you will be attacked by a mixture of Goons and Soldiers. Execute the Bat wielder then proceed forward and Execute the rest. One of the Soldiers will drop an HK Ump so pick that one up. You should also find a couple of Ammo Boxes just before the platform itself. When you get onto the platform then you will be transported to the other side of the area. As you are slowly making your way across then you will be attacked by multiple Goons from across the platform. You can either shoot them or shoot the oil barrels to kill them. When you are brought back down to ground level then you will be attacked by several more Goons. After you Execute them then go around the side of the Boathouse to find the stairs leading down. When you get down the stairs then you should see a couple of Ammo Boxes ahead of you. Go through the next door and you will find several Soldiers patrolling the lower part of the Boathouse. After Executing them then go up the stairs to the upper level of the Boathouse. As you go up the stairs then you will be attacked by two Soldiers and a Clubber. Go back downstairs and let them come to you so you can Execute them. Go back upstairs and head to the opposite side to find three more Soldiers. After Executing them then head down to the ground floor and Execute the lone Goon down here. Head back upstairs and into one of the Control Rooms to find a button that will release the first Darkness Artifact onto the ground floor. As the Artifact is being moved then you will be attacked by a Bat wielding Goon. After Executing him then head to the ground floor to find a single Goon and two Soldiers. When you Execute them then two more Soldiers will appear. After Executing them then more Soldiers will attack but in pairs. This pattern will continue for some time. It almost seems that they are infinitely generating but they are not - it will stop after awhile. This is also a good way to get lots of Essence Points. When the Soldiers stop generating then acquire the first Darkness Artifact. Then go back upstairs to the other Control Room to release the second Darkness Artifact. As the Darkness Artifact is being moved then you will be attacked by a Clubber. After Executing him then head downstairs and Execute the single Goon and Soldier on the ground floor. If you killed off all of the attacking Soldiers before you picked up the first Artifact then you should no longer be attacked. You can now safely wait for the second Artifact to be placed onto the ground. When the crate drops onto the floor then pick up the Artifact. After that then you will be attacked by two Soldiers and a Clubber who emerge from the exit door near where you picked up the first Artifact. After Executing this group then go through this door then the next one to go back outside. Here you will need to kill off a large group of Soldiers and one Clubber. Execute the Clubber first then go and Execute the rest. When you have killed off this group then head to the extraction point to successfully complete this mission.
