A Button - Jumping - Press and hold the A button to bring the jump meter up. The Jump Meter indicates how height you want to jump. For the highest jumps release the button when the meter is full and flashing, holding it to long will cause it to reset. Control Stick - Left/Right - Steer your boarder to the left or right. Down - Edge your board making your boarder brake, press down or to the right to make sharper turns. Up - Give your boarder a quick dash from a topped position. L Button - Tucking - Hold the L button to make your boarder tuck, giving you some additional speed. While tucked your boarders mobility and turning ability are greatly reduced. Also by pressing the L button as you land you can absorb the shock. Start Button - Pause the game and bring up the Pause Menu. --------------[2.02][Trick Controls]-------------- Advanced controls that allow you to perform tricks and trick combos. A Button - Jump - Press and hold to activate the jump meter. B Button - Grabs - Press and hold this button to do a grab in the air. Control Stick - Different Grabs - Tilt the control stick in any direction while holding the B,X or Y buttons. Forward/Backwards Flips - Hold the R button and press up or down on the control stick, doing this will perform either a forward or backward flip depending on which direction u push. Spin Faster - Hold the R button and rotate the control stick. Tilt - Tile the control stick left and right while grinding to maintain balance. L Button - Grinding - Use the L button to grind whenever you see a fallen tree, rail, hand rail ect. Landing - Press this button prior to landing to absorb full shock. R Button - Spin/Flips - Hold this button to perform spins and flips. X Button - Grabs - Press and hold to perform grabs while in the air. Y Button - Grabs - Press and hold to perform a grab in the air. -[2.03][How to Perform Tricks/Trick Combo]- In this section you can learn how to perform tricks and trick combos. How To Perform A Trick - Step 1 - As you approach your jump/drop off press and hold the A button. Time it so the jump meter fills just as your come to the lip of the jump. Step 2 - At the top of the jump release the A Button for maximum air height. Step 3 - While in the air press and hold the R Button. While pressing it use the control stick to spin your board and perform rotations. Step 4 - You can also press the B, X or Y Buttons and tilt the control stick in any direction to perform grabs. Step 5 - Press the L Button as you land to absorb the shock. Only a successful landing will earn you the points awarded for your trick. Trick Combos - ------==[3.00][General Information]==------ In this section of the walkthrough I will explain the HUD, and the Pause Menu and the menu once your cross the finish line. --------------[3.01][HUD Explanation]-------------- The HUD is your Heads Up Display, the screen you see whenever your in game riding down the mountain Time - Located in the top left hand of your screen it displays your total race time on the current track, on every race course it will be counting upwards, unless on your final match race, where it is counting down till your time expires KM/H - Located in the top right hand corner of your screen it displays your boarders current speed in kilometers per hour Damage Meter - Located in the bottom left hand corner of your screen it displays how much damage your boarder has taken. Whenever this meter is depleted your boarder is to shook to ride the mountain Course Map - Located in the bottom right hand corner of your screen it displays your progress on that current run, plus a map of the area you are boarding in ----------------[3.02][Pause Menu]----------------- The pause menu is the in game menu that appears when you press the Start Button. Continue - Continue Racing Restart - Restart the Race/Retire in Match Race View Protips - View the Protips Change - The change options allows you to change the Course, your Character or your Board, this option is not available in Match Race Quit - Exit back to Main Menu ---------------[3.03][Race Finish]---------------- The Race Finished or Results Menu appears once you have completed the race, either by finishing the course or Retiring. Retry - Lets you retry the course View Replay - By highlighting this and pressing left or right on the control stick the option to save a replay appears, by pressing the A button a new menu appears that allows you to save your current replay, each replay takes 5 blocks of memory Change - The change options allows you to change the Course, your Character or your Board, this option is not available in Match Race View Protips - View the Protips Return to Menu - Returns you to the main menu -------------==[4.00][Options]==------------ This section of the walkthrough will brake down the options you have in this game, saving and loading and controlling your records and replays. ---------------[4.01][Options Menu]---------------- This section brakes down the Option Menu and explains the setting the game lets you change and what changing them affects. Rumble - Turn the rumble feature on the controller on or off Disable Ghost in Trial - Once you completed each time trial on each course, you can race your best time, this enables you to switch this setting off Memory Card - A) Save - Save your game data B) Load - Load your pervious game data C) Autosave - Turn autosave on or off D) Manage Ghost/Replay Data - Erase your saved data View Protips - Displays the list of tips that will help you through the game, use the L and R Buttons to scroll through the different categories View Controls - Displays a diagram of the controller and each buttons function Enter an Avalanche Code - Enter a code that you obtain once you complete a Match Race setting Sound Options - Change the audio setting using the control stick Music - Volume of in game music Sound FX - Sounds of avalanche, animals, ect Voice - Volume of the announcers voice Audio - Set the output mode of the sound either Mono, Stereo or Surround Sound settings -------[4.02][Saving/Loading/Records/Replay]------- This section will answer any questions you have on saving and loading your progress and Ghost/Replay data. Initial Loading of 1080 - When first loading 1080, the game will check for game data on your memory card in slot A. If you don't have a memory card in slot A you will have to continue without saving therefore disabling the autosave feature, which saves your data after setting any new records or completing a new goal. If there is a card in slot A with no data a file will be created, if a file is already there it will simply load you directly into that game. Records - By choosing this option in the main menu area you can view the top three scores in Gate Challenge, Time Trial, and Trick Attack for every course that you have unlocked. By pressing the Z Button you can erase all your data. Replays - This option on the main menu screen allows you to view or erase any saved replay data. ------------==[5.00][Lan Play]==----------- Being on of the only GameCube games that is Lan assessable I figured I should include instructions on how to use the Lan feature. Connecting Multiple Nintendo GameCube Systems with a Hub - By using a 10BASE-T hub and Lan cables you can connect a maximum of 4 GameCubes to race with 4 boarders. Required Equipment 1) Nintendo GameCube with Broadband Adapter - (2-4) 2) 1080 Avalanche Game Disc - (1 Per System) 3) Memory Card with 1080 Save Data - (0-4) 4) Nintendo GameCube Controllers - (1 Per System) 5) 10BASE-T Hub - (1) 6) Land Cables Compatible with Hub - (1 Per System) Connection Instructions - Step 1 - Turn all game systems off and connect the Lan cables to the broadband adapter of each Nintendo GameCube. Step 2 - Turn the Hub on. Step 3 - Place each copy of 1080 in each Nintendo GameCube. Being so light gives her a slow speed and jumping ability, but allows her to extremely maneuverable and well balanced. Useful on course with a lot of sharp turns not a lot of space to maneuver in. She tends to prefer Pop Radio hits, but will occasionally listen to some Punk music, inspired by Ricky.
