My Favorite Live Albums. posted 5/25/2013 6:32:57 AM
Well, what can I say, I really like live albums. In fact many of my favorite albums of all time are live albums. I think that live albums when are well done, can exceed the experience of the studio versions, not only because of the whole "live" experience, but because sometimes the songs sound even better than their studio counterparts, and often live albums can be seen as a "best of" of a band´s catalog, and a great way to know a band. It really can enhance the music experience of a band, and few albums have reached a true level of greatness.
I often listen to live albums because sometimes I can´t decide which album to listen from a band, so I just end up playing a live record. I really like some of the added features that some bands use in live albums, like extended jams, medleys, interaction with the crowd, among others. These are some of my favorite live albums (notice that I say favorite, I don´t mean that those are the best, although some of them are indeed among the best). Not in exactly order, from last to first (I will add a description for each one later,as they are many) :
24. Rage - From the Cradle to the Stage
23. Pink Floyd - Pulse
22. Ozzy Osbourne - Randy Rhoads Tribute
21. Gamma Ray - Skeletons in the Closet
20. Jimi Hendrix - Jimy Plays Monterey
19. AC/DC - If You Want Blood, You've Got It
18. Exodus - Another Lesson in Violence
17. Sepultura - Under Siege
16. Blind Guardian - Tokyo Tales
15. Iced Earth - Alive in Athens
14. Queen - Live Killers
13. UFO - Strangers in the Night

Such a great movie, lengthy being almost 3 hours long but it never was boring, great acting by everyone, beautiful landscapes. The gun fights were one of the best I've seen in any movie.
