The Vicious Cylcle of the Gaming Wars posted 3/3/2010 8:17:49 PM
The other day I was having a heated discussion with a friend of mine at a local gaming retail store, he believed that Consoles would eventually destroy the PC gaming market and in the end all gaming would be done simply through consoles, I had to disagree with him. Regardless of what "next gen" consoles become they will never overpower the capabilities of a computer. You can right now play a game on a PS3 or XBOX 360 and then play that same game on a very nice gaming rig computer the difference is clear.
Also PC gamers are like the "elite" of gaming, at first consoles were ****, most of the hardcore gamers were PC gamers. Nothing has changed, take genres for example any FPS or RTS will play ten times better on a computer. Mostly due in part of the graphics and controls. That brings me to my next point, the keyboard + mouse will always be better than the console controller despite what many people will say. Your reaction is just so much quicker and accurate on a keyboard + mouse than it could ever be on a controller. That is most likely the reason why you will never see a FPS on a console linked up with it's port on a PC. The multi-player would be extremely out of whack due to the unfair advantage PC gamers had over Console gamers.
Then again that is just my opinion, what do you think?
