New job! And sleeping and diet update! posted 6/13/2012 6:18:32 PM
If you read my last blog, I can now comfortably wake up anywhere around 8 or 8:30 and start my day off with a huge work out and a huge meal after that. It feels really good to be doing this. I'm not sure if I mentioned this before but I, along with a buddy of mine are training for the Tough Mudder, check it out on the world wide web its pretty intense. That's why we are working out every morning and I'll be working out even after that to get into the best possibly physical shape I can. I've even stopped drinking on the weekends minus a few beers here and there. I know, hard to believe, huh? (I'm actually drinking a beer as I type this though...)
I started incorporating more healthy carbohydrates such as whole grains into my diet while still focusing on fruits, vegetables, eggs and yogurt as my other primary sources of food. The problem is that it is hard to eat healthy in America...unfortunately. Everything is processed, has additives etc. Even stuff that is labeled 100% whole grain. I just ate an English muffin and it says it has preservatives on the ingredients, but was the only wheat type of bread I could find that was not enriched wheat. I also drink water throughout the day like its my job and I started drinking a glass of milk a day for calcium and bone strength.
This leads me into my next point, in that I recently obtained a new job through Naked Pizza! Check them out here Link. Basically it is healthy pizza. All other places like Dominos used additives and preservatives and one refined grain. Naked pizza is a source of healthy carbohydrates and we all know that healthy carbs should consist of about half of your diet if not more. Having this supply of healthy carbs gives you energy throughout the day and helps you lose weight. Crazy, I know right? Eat more to lose more? Its almost as though our bodies were created to work that way!
So yeah, Naked Pizza uses 12 or so different grains for their dough and none of their ingredients has preservatives or additives, its all natural and all healthy! The carbs give you energy as opposed to weighing you down! And the best part about it is that it tastes better than any other pizza I had (except pizza from Italy).
I started working there last week so I'm still a newbie. So far so good, I start training to make pizzas and all that jazz this Saturday. So far I've been helping my friend who is the Marketing Manager for his internship and the one who got me the job.
So if you have a Naked Pizza in your area I would highly recommend you give them a try! [/advertisement]....sorry I just love Naked Pizza.
