The day my dad woke me up at Christmas with my first Nintendo console, the smile on my face that night. I remember what gaming used to be when I had to blow in a cartridge to make it play, the time and effort and the screams my friends and I used to make when we finally got it working, what a reward that was. I remember when gaming used to be about games and not graphics, dlc and who has the foulest mouth during online play, the day I played Final Fantasy 7 and never wanted to put my controller down. I remember the days when my friends used to come over and we would play a simple game like Mario Party and have the best time of our lives together in the same room. I remember when you didn't need patches and patches to make a game playable and when companies didn't want to suck my wallet dry with the same game by adding "new content". I remember when hacking wasn't a common word and when skill was necessary to finish something called hard mode. All the things about gaming that I remember, that defined me when I was young and that made me happy. I wish kids today could experience all that but, watching the gaming industry grow I just prefer to forget...
