As a father of five children, I used to lament the amount of time my children would spend playing video games. Then, I was confronted by the fact that I always have taught my children not to pass judgment upon something unless they have, at the least, tried it.

I used to play Atari games when I was a teen. Then I kinda lost my joy of youth as life began an insistent push upon my mentality to become a mature and responsible adult. In other words, I was becoming what I had perceived my parents were, and what I had vowed I would not become. So, I threw caution to the wind, and tried a modern video game on one of the systems my children employ in their gaming pursuits...Ever since I have become the consummate "Old Man" of gaming in my household :-) Thanks, children, for opening my eyes to the fact that Jesus Christ has truly given us all things to enjoy!
