Stealing music/movies/games is wrong...posted

Ever wonder why?
The reasonable use act says that songs can be sampled but only so much as it takes to advertise the song for PURCHASE, not give it away for free.
And yes, when you download a song.. you're not stealing the physical copy of the song, but someone else has to pay for that, so why shouldn't you?
Same goes for movies and games.
It's illegal, not because the government is mean or because it's unfair. It's because someone (several someones) get that money because they have earned it. They pay to have the song advertised, they host the bandwidth, the maintenance on the site, the contract for the band, the label's ability to copyright, etc etc etc..
So the next time you decide whether or not to download a movie or song without paying for it. Think about how you'd feel if someone broke into your house and stole your computer, your wallet, your tools, your pistols, etc.
What's the difference? It's not theirs any more than that copy of that song or movie is yours.
Oh, but it's a COPY so that makes it OK, right?
But you would still have to PAY for that copy just like everyone else. YOu see, there is no defense against being a thief.
If you can't afford something, you can't have it.
That's how it works.
