||I bought this game on Playism a while back and have been waiting for the Steam release, it is a great twist on the roguelike - it is turn-based, and there is darkness coming from the left side of the screen, you have to keep moving 'one way', to the right :)
The worlds are randomly generated as is everything in them, but if you want to replay one or share a "seed" with someone, you can do that as well. There are mild online elements but no multiplayer. You can see who else has cleared a dimension, and sometimes see players that are near you, though you cannot interact. This happens a lot when you are trying the daily challenge map!
The aesthetics are similar to an old SNES RPG with straight forward menus that get the job done very well. Villages, NPCs, demon lords- standard fare. There are many classes to choose from and unlock. There is persistence between playthroughs as well, multiple difficulty levels, an upgradeable "safe" to stash the amazing item you found before you died, etc.. The gameplay is simple enough and straightforward with different classes having different active and passive abilities. You can customize your classes as well. There's still a lot I'm not mentioning here, too.
There is also a way to save your progress in a playthrough (which are short, 0-3 hours depending on lots of factors I'd say) and that would normally bother me in a "roguelike", but it is implemented very well here (you are still judged when you die, but if you want to load the save and finish the map you can) and there are bonuses for not using it.
You won't notice it immediately, but this game has a great amount of depth and can keep you busy for a very long time! If you are a fan of roguelike style games and the screenshots/videos look good, get it! The game is lots of fun to play for either short or long periods of time and has a sizeable amount of content, in my opinion it is an amazing value for the price.
