|The original Super Mario Galaxy broke all the molds and landed itself at the top of the greatest Super Mario games ever made. The second one was put together to include all of the wonderful aspects of the original and add in what were mostly fan-desired options. Making his return to the galaxy (which is in my mind the greatest of all of the Super Mario worlds). Sequels are usually not as great as the original, but in this case, they mave have hit the nail right on the head.
The gameplay in Super Mario Galaxy 2 is brilliant. Travelling the planets in the galaxy is super fun. The controls are spot on and the gravity system never falters. Once you learn the basics, the interplanetary travels you will experience are one of the many highlights of this installment of the series. The powers that were introduced in the first Galaxy game are back in all their glory. Bee Mario being just one shining examples of the creative genius behind this game.
Rosalina needs your help again. The ice blue princess of the stars and her band of adorable Lumas need your assistance again. While the blueprint of the traditional Super Mario games doesn't totally get lost in translation to the cosmos, the parts that do get altered are changed for the better.
Some sequels fail, and some, like SMG2, are real triumphs. If you played the first game (or even if you didn't) this is a game that should not be missed. There is something so perfect about Mario traversing the constellations that just makes everything so perfect.
