I'm looking for a very deep (good storyline) and involving (gets you into it) as well as a decent replay value and nothing like these 6 hour games that have been showing up lately. Must be from 2001-present (Otherwise theres compatibility issues with my widescreen monitor and resolution support. Although some in my list I manage with because I like em.) Any ideas cause I'm banging my head on the keyboard attempting to look for a game that will keep my interest long after its been beaten once.
Current list of Games I own:
Chronicles of Rid****: Assault on Dark Athena FarCry 2 Half Life 2: Episode pack Saints Row 2 Crysis/Warhead/Wars Wolfenstein Grand Theft Auto IV (With episodes) Just Cause 2 (Damn steam for breaking BOLOPatch...) Dragon Age: Origins/Awakening Bully (its a classic...) StarWars: Force unleashed Oblivion (another highly modifiable classic StarWars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords (Disc one is broken :'( ) Assassins Creed I/II Stranglehold Starwars: Empire at war Starwars Knights of the old republic StarWars: Battlefront StarWars: Republic Commando (Starwars game pack... sue me) Starwars: Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast The Witcher: Enhanced edition Alpha Protocol Prototype Red Faction: Guerrilla Borderlands (Not as much fun as my friend made it out to be) F.E.A.R 1 & 2 Mafia 1 & 2 Mass Effect 1 & 2 Spore
Divinty 2 ego draconas S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat Call of Duty: World at War Batman: Arkham Asylum
Long list I know, just putting it out there so people don't suggest games I already have. These are games I ended up liking after playing them and ended up buying them (I really HATE the no refund policy on PC games... >.>) I've tried alot of the newest ones (do not suggest starcraft II... I'm not touching that till blizz updates it in a major way)
Its story is whatever you want it to be, to it can be deep and involving if you're willing to roleplay it.
It's insanely replayable.
And there's loads of mods to increase replayability as well.
It's a little bit of a departure from your usual games, but should be well worth it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'
I don't know how this game came up to my mind, it's old (2001) but I still think it got a good storyline and an enjoyable gameplay.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~King of Dark~ ♮C.0.W♮ My Past has determined your future My torrential pain will be your unspeakable suffering Your days are numbered Don't fear the end Pray for it and unlike your own immortality My thirst for vengeance WILL NEVER DIE
in refrence to the batman suggestion, Also looking for replayability.
Warbrand is a bit strange for a game, its well designed except for story. **** Company: So what about a story line? How about a reason for what the player is doing? Developer: Meh... We will sort that out later. **** Thats the only downside I see so far.
as for Resident Evil 5. It's a fast paced game with a slow-paced shooter. You have a load of zombies coming at you and you say, "Yeah, can you all just line up and come one at a time? I can't move when I'm shooting you know!" Or the knife... how useless is that when you run out of ammo?
Personally I would of at least liked to be able to walk with the gun drawn and fire while moving.
Storyline was a bit weak too and the scares were nothing like the old-school R.E. that I grew up with. Graphics were pretty though o.o R.E. 5 is a download and toss.
However I ended up buying Mount & Blade: Warbrand. Personally I like my version of "try before you buy". Sucks PC's get no slack when it comes to refund policies. I honestly think they should rent out games with special serial numbers that are only valid for like 3 days to a week.
Anyway, batman=no, R.E. 5=No, even though they threw in some RPGish elements (weapon upgrades and such) but still a pretty fail game. A shadow of it's scary, freakish, keep-you-awake-at-night gameplay that was golden back through 1-3.
