First off, I want to apologize to the administrators for sending a form i didn't need. I am truly sorry that in my panic make sure my computer was healthy I questioned your integrity. Now then, I need some help on how to stop AVG from detecting the trainer program. I have tried reading some form but they do not provide mean anyway of stopping AVG from detecting it. Any advice would be most helpful. Thank you.
1. Turn if off temporarily. Yes it's dangerous, but the trainers don't contain malware and you can't really go web surfing and playing the game at the same time.
2. Add it to the exclusion list. You will have to consult your product's help files on how to do this.
3. Change the program settings to ask what to do on detection instead of taking action. This will force the AV to alert and wait for user input giving you a chance to allow the trainer to run. Consult help files on how to do this.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your bitterness, I will dispel
First off I did explore the advanced settings and all it had for exclusion was for the resident shield which I solved that problem. What I am talking about is when I scan the computer for viruses. How do I tell AVG to exclude the trainer when scanning. The reason I ask is because I have set a timed scheduled scanning on my computer every Wednesday.
I should now mention that it is only the steam/d2d version that seems to be affected by avg. The retail version is not affected. Maybe someone should look at the file. My brother is now affected and he has Vista. Avg won't even let him download it
