I have games that I have never played before, still sitting in there wrappers, I will play them at some point but a guess it is a waste of money until I do
Considering that, while I buy few games, I play them excessively, I'd say no.
I would never call a game a waste of money. I only buy games that I know I'll enjoy, and I get as much out of them as I can. I've had games that I played to the point that the disks were scratched up from so much use (PS2 disk tray flaw).
Also, I think the notion that owning a PlayStation game that today could be emulated makes it a waste of money is absolute bull****. You wouldn't even bother torrenting said game if you'd never owned it on the PlayStation, and the ability to get a game for free illegally does not make purchasing the game a waste of money. I'd much rather fund the developers than effectively steal.

I never take risks when I buy games. I always bookmark its page on IGN then read every article and watch every video.
Even if after beating a game I end up thinking it wasn't as good as I thought it would be I still got months of play out of it, that's not a waste of money.

Not at all. You see EB Games has a thing where they refund a game full price within 7 days after, and live in walking distances of 3 different EBGames store. Lets just say I currently own 3 games, Final Fantasy XIII(Gift), Bayonetta(Birthday Gift), and Smackdown! vs RAW, and regardless of me only owning 3 PlayStation 3 games, within the last year I've probably beat 20 to 30 other games for practically nothing. Although I uses to own GTA4, Assassins Creed, and Ratchet & Clank but I sold all those on EBay.

All my PC games are illegally downloaded, my PS2 games are illegally copied or downloaded, so I didn't waste that much at all.
