Yes, he has been my favorite since I was a little kid, though I have to admit there are a couple that come in a very close second. I like his dark nature and that he is completely human. Also, even though he has the awesome gadgets that he uses a lot, he doesn't rely solely on them. He trained and studied really hard so he is naturally skilled, tough, strong, and highly intelligent. I do sometimes wish he didn't cling so much that no killing rule of his though. His arch-nemesis the Joker is one of the best villain characters out there too in my opinion. On that note. Someone should start a 'Who's the Coolest Villain' poll.

I've noticed a lot of people on the Marvel vs. DC topic saying how much they like Batman so lets get an idea of how many people think he's the best. And explain why as well.

I definitely do. The main reason is that he doesn't have any super powers. He's just a normal human being that uses some awesome gadgets to fight crime and I guess that lets me relate to him better.

Doesn't Iron Man do the same thing? Only on a more technologically advanced level. In any case my vote goes with him because the suit is kick ass.

    Edit- Iron Man that is.

Iron Man is cool, but he seems to rely even more so on technology than Batman. Without it he'd pretty much be screwed. While Batman doesn't necessarily need tech to kick ass.

    yes.
same reason. no superpowers. just gadgets .
and he have a dark past.

Precisely why I dislike him. Nothing special about him. He's supposed to be a super hero. As in, more superb than other humans. Not just a guy with a superb checkbook.

Ya, he is pretty similar in the way he fights crime.

For me it just comes down to when I was exposed to them. I used to watch the Batman and Spiderman cartoons when I was a kid and Batman was always my favourite.

A lot of you will find this shocking but until the movie Iron Man came out a few years ago I had never seen any TV show or read a comic with him in it. It was literally my first time experiencing anything Iron Man so I'm still new to the whole thing. And at 21 it's kind of hard for me to get attached to a superhero so Batman stays my favourite and probably always will.

I don't want a big car, particularly. I have no need for acreage, and I don't like the fuel bills. But I don't want a small one because they're all like supermarket own-brand cola: weedy imitations of the real thing - Jeremy Clarkson

In proper context, Batman is not a hero.

Batman is an anti-hero. A villain whose actions are ultimately good.

And this is indeed his appeal.

But, no, Batman is not my favorite.

My favorite is the ultimate 1980s anti-hero, The Punisher.

And I will never forgive Hollywood for ****ing him up.
