my school has about, 800 pupils, and me and a friend have decided to try and have a day in school, like sport relief or children in need, but instead raising money for testicular cancer. If anyone has any ideas of things we could do in school to raise some money, please tell me.
thanks in advance

I think u guys might have the wrong idea, Im on about an event in school involving about 800 people, my headteacher says its ok, so something we could do which would cater for 800, and also be fun.

Well, the first step would be deciding what you want to do.
But you also should see about getting a local business--or several--to sponsor you.
So, let's say you put on a pancake breakfast, with the proceeds going to charity, the business would pay for the pancake mix and sausages and whatever else and then you put their name on the event and it's good advertising for them and they get to take the costs off on their taxes--and therefore all of the money you take in is for charity, rather than just what's left after expenses.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'
We might be be gettin a plumbing business to sponsor us and they will probably pay quite a bit. But all the ideas of things we can do are "violations" of health and safety. I was thinking of doing something sport orientated but i cant think of any sports we could do which could involve 800.

If you want something sports related involving 800 people, what about a 800 person game of Bull-Rush/stuck in the mud, or what ever you call it, assuming you have the field to play it on. I'm not sure how that translate into money, but you'll work it out.
A couple of other ideas.
- BBQ.
- Selling chocolates or something like that. I remember years ago at school this student went around selling gob-stoppers, the kid made over $2,500 within a week, that was about the same size as the school you describe.
- Send flyers home with every student explaining the cause and asking parents to donate, or even putting it in the school news letter. I'm sure some parents will be very more then happy to help you out.
