Have you restarted your computer after deinstallation of AVG? It's an important step.
I would suggest moving to a different anti-virus product if you want to keep using trainers as AVG interferes with a lot of trainers.

Didn't restart first time, now I did and it still doesn't work. Also, what do you recommend as an good anti-virus program that is free.

You still have traces of AVG left on your system. You should reinstall AVG and uninstall it properly.
I would recommend Microsoft Security Essentials for a free AV product. Very small footprint and very non invasive of genuine programs and operation.

I dont thik it's about AV...Ýf its reallly an interference issue it should be something else because I dont have any type of AV but I ve got the exact same problem.

I solved the problem...I dont know if it works for you because my case was that I'd been using the wrong trainer version. I checked the version from game directory/support/english (or some file like that).. It was 1.01....so I downloaded correct version then it worked...
You can give it a try using other versions maybe.....
