Some people like things flashy while some like simplicity. Just make a pure white background and set that as the background and that should solve the problem with Google advertising it and making it irritating to those who like the solid white background.

Some people like things flashy while some like simplicity. Just make a pure white background and set that as the background and that should solve the problem with Google advertising it and making it irritating to those who like the solid white background.
You can still do that, just save a plain white picture on paint and upload that.
But for those of us who like to have things personalized we can do it now. We use Google so much it's practically a second desktop nowadays so it's nice to be able to personalize it just like our real desktops.
It works for everyone. Those who want a background get one and those who don't can manipulate it so they won't.

I would like this feature more if we could move the search bar so we could reveal certain areas of the pic. I am annoyed ad the text on the car, for instance.
