    These problems have been reported in many of the forums.

    I have looked up the problem at most of the places and found that it's mostly due to the console porting.

    They test the game with joysticks (Xbox 360 controllers I think) and then just implant a usually working mouse part but apparently they failed. I'm also guessing that there is a conflict in the mouse code.

    There is also no difference between the Cracked .exe and the normal .exe except that it removes the use of DRM.

    But I do hope that they will make a patch for the game ASAP.

    ok, so I have tested to change the values of the APEngine.ini and to be honest, it's less stuttering.
    I changed it to False and the smooth to min:10 max:50.

    And I forgot to add, I'm playing in Windows XP SP3 compatibility to see if there was any difference. I'm not sure if there was a difference due to that but if you got ALOT of stuttering as I did before, I suggest that you give it a try

    No Disrespect to Indians on a whole, but most of Indian Techies are not that Technical.

    And you just proven it, by saying something out of the blue thats false and not even researched.

    And some Indians wonder why people hate Indian Call Centres. Again I am not disrespecting India at all, just some people who think they know what they are talking about but are not that clever at all.

    Here's what solved the stuttering problem for me:

    - go into X:\user\username\documents\alpha protocol\apgame\config
    - open the apengine.ini file
    search for the following strings:

    bSmoothFrameRate=true
    MinSmoothedFrameRate=xx
    MaxSmoothedFrameRate=xx

    and change them like this:

    bSmoothFrameRate=false
    MinSmoothedFrameRate=1024
    MaxSmoothedFrameRate=4096

    then set the string "UseVsync" to FALSE

    save the file, and make it "read only".

    As I said, this solved the problem for me!

    Re-installed Win 7 and got rid of most problems. Still experiencing some mouse lag, but stuttering is 1/10 of what is was. I'm quite happy with the game now compared to what it was. For sure a patch is needed, but as seen on my setup the registry in combination with some applications can make things even worse than they are supposed to be.

    As for now I'm quite satisfied with game performance. One must remember that the game was almost unplayable. Not that I recommend that all who experience problems format the OS, but sometimes it's an easy way to test things if you have a good backup to return to i.e. Acronis etc.

    Thanks for everyone's support in this matter and hope it has served others as well.

    But reinstalling a OS seems a bit drastic when you (me) got like 300-400gb of stuff that you want to keep

    Not to sure if this will help but I run win 7 64-bit but I run the game in win xp service pack 2 compatibility and with adminstrator mode. I have none of these problems that people claim to have then again mine is the steam version. The only thing that I hate is the sniping as I can't stand the scope using mouse. I never seem to get the dot where I want it.

    mrpeters- in my case it was more of a test to see if reinstall has some effect on these issues, not as a guideline in solving them. I usually play the game straightforward as long as it takes, and when it's through, remove it and install the old win backup if problems installing it in my daily windows (usually not). This is the only game I have problems with in my "daily" win installation.

    Regarding other stuff, also have tons of it, approx. 600-1000 gb, but use separate HDD's; 1 HDD to OS/programs and 2 other to "stuff".

    In my case it helped to reduce the mouse speed in windows from control panel=>hardware and sound=>mouse settings, reduce the speed from "buttons" and "pointer speed" to quite slow (not nice when working in windows), but in the game the mouse issues got better. Don't know if it works for others though.

    Atombomb56- think the sniping got better controlled after the mouse adjustment above. Give it a try, maybe it helps.
