Yesterday I was walking downtown with my friend and he was like let's go into the Apple store. I assure you that since the Ipad came out, you can hardly walk in there without wanting to kill someone. After a couple of minutes my friend finally got to try the Ipad and while he was testing that big ass device that doesn't fit in a pocket I was thinking about something. People buy anything Apple not because they support the company since it launched with the black and white computers, nor because they are part of the people who love a Mac over PC
Apple is now officially a trend/bandwagon product. Most people who buy apple products don't even know what apple really is, where it started and didn't even know a couple of year ago that it existed. My friend and his friend have an Apple product so let me go buy one to.
Please tell me why in the name of God would you want the Ipad? It's huge, it has close to no battery life and it doesn't do anything special to justify the price. Most people in the store where like I don't know what the the Ipad does but I want one.

I know what your header meant I will admit though the Ipod and Ipad's are nicely made and are overall quite reliable, of course there will be faulty units like anything else, but its been quite a good marketing tool.
Onto the MAC vs PC (lets not get into that whole argument again Dhampy), if game developers and publishers released more MAC games I could see the MAC creep up on sales. The worse case scenario would be to develop games for Linux OS's that would be madness.

Let me start by saying I'm not a fangirl but the way Apple fanboys-girls are ready to defend Apple products to the death makes me wanna root for M$. IMO Apple products are overpriced for what they do.
The Ipod Nano 2GB I got a few years back cost me 200euro ($246), the battery sucked from the beginning, it still functions but not much to do with it when the battery life is 2 hours max. This year I got a Zen X-Fi 16gb (WiFi and built in speakers) with leather case and a screen protector for $144 and I'm really pleased with it so far.
Iphone is everything but a phone and you can't even multitask. The screen is really nice but the cons outweigh the pros for me. It'd be better to get an android with that money.
You know why Macs run so smoothly? Because everything that's built for it is built for specific hardware. Not being able to upgrade hardware is a big no-no for me. The way I see it Macs are nice for people who don't know what they're doing + you don't have the fear of getting a virus yet. If you're a graphic designer Macs are the way to go.

What you said toreador is exactly one of the points I forgot to mention. Why pay so much for a device with a freaking apple on it when you can get something even better from another brand for much less.

Apple's been a bandwagon since the iPod came out. There are WAY better MP3 players out there and they don't come with stupid software like iTunes.
The iPhone is pretty good though, but only because of the apps. Sure there are other phones with apps but the iPhone has a hell of a lot of them.
The iPad though, why? If you want small get an iPhone or an Android. Otherwise get a laptop. The iPad doesn't fit in a pocket anyways, so you might as well get a laptop which would probably be more powerful and versatile.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- I don't want a big car, particularly. I have no need for acreage, and I don't like the fuel bills. But I don't want a small one because they're all like supermarket own-brand cola: weedy imitations of the real thing - Jeremy Clarkson
Some people buy Apple products because to them they are good products. The people who don't know what Apple is still going to buy whatever, thats just plain dumb. Why would you buy a product without knowing what it is or what it does? What happens if you don't like that said product you bought? To me (and just about EVERYBODY) the iPad and the iPod Touch is the same. One is just bigger. Almost everything that can be done with the iPad can be done on a iPod Touch.

I forgot about the iPad. Besides the ridiculous name there's not much to say about it. You wanna browse the internet? Get a netbook, it's cheaper and it supports java/flash!

Like my friend skyline stated, Itunes is the worst software I have ever used and it is the sole reason why I was so ****ed that I gave my Ipod to my friend.
