We are still waiting for someone to send us the APGame.exe from the Steam version. We've been asking for it for days.
The steam version is APLauncher.exe which is the reason why the nodvd crack doesn't work even if we rename the file error pop up. When i do a search in win 7 theres no such things APGame.exe
APLauncher.exe is probably the file that ties with Steam seeing the online activation system tying in to APGame.exe.
Normally the launcher is located under. C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\Common\alpha protocol\
With the APGame.exe being located. C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\Common\alpha protocol\Binaries
Here's the Steam original EXE version. (Disregard the _ at the end of the name, using the modified Skidrow fixed fixed EXE due to the notes about a sort of protection the game uses, more compatible and less crash prone.)
Could you add an option to lock/unlock the special ability timer. This would be extremely useful with the Shadow Operative skill - giving you unlimited invisibility.
Both wrong. All versions/sources of the game contain both APLauncher.exe and APGame.exe. The launcher is exactly that, a loader, whereas APGame is the 'actual' game. This ends up getting loaded whether you start it directly or go through the launcher. The reason you can't find it is because it's in a subfolder in the game directory and not just in your face when you try and browse for it. The binaries folder is a typical indication of an Unreal engine-based game.
The APLauncher.exe is no different between versions of the game. It's the APGame.exe which gets altered. Steam use something called CEG (custom executable generation) on a load of modern games that they deliver now. It's an attempt at thwarting piracy by providing each user which a slightly different game executable on download, keyed to their specific account.
So, i'll re-iterate what Caliber/PWizard said to finish. For a steam version, or any other version for that matter, it's the APGame.exe that is needed. Disregard whatever other cryptic things people are saying.
Hey, Just downloaded via Steam today. I've tried both the regualer Steam exe and the NO-DVD by Skidrow. Neither exe will work with the trainer, the trainer either does nothing or crashes the game.
I'm in Canada and the UK version will at least have some effect, only with immediate crashing. The US version seems to do nothing for a long while and then crash. I've used loads of your trainers before without any kind of problem and I've tried disabling AV (never had to before either), but with no luck.
I have steam, winxp 32bit. First trainer works fine, though i have not tried god mode as that seems pointless in this game. Ammo, timers, xp, skill, etc all work fine. Just turn off as instructions tell you too after using. For those trying latest trainer with steam this new trainer does not work for me either. I have the previous trainer still so I am good. If you have previous trainer it should work fine. If not....
