Football Manager 2010 Message Board  

Can someone give me the jist of the game? As in, what do you do? Is it any fun? Et cetera, et cetera. Sell it to me. Literally. I was thinking of buying it.

Well you are interested in managing football, or may I say soccer teams?

I would not recommend this game if you are a die-hard fan of Football.

What you actually do is manage the teams funds, take care of the year's sponsors, try to achieve the goals (Like win the league cup), etc.

And you can achieve this by having the right players, the right tactics (Managing the corner kicks, which player is going to take kicks, who is the captain of the team, etc).

Because you cannot actually play as the team in actual fixtures, its not an easy ride.

Why would you not recommend this to die-hard footie fans?
I'm a die-hard fan and have followed this series since 2004 was released.

But basicaly you are the manager of desired club/nation.
You deal with the finances (of course richer teams are easier to control), buying/selling player, managing the team in games, working to achieve the clubs expectations in leagues and cups.

I'd recommend trying the demo first if you're a first timer.
But 2010 is the best FM to date.
