granted Obama's diplomacy skills r weak but that's not because he's a bad person..just a tad in-experienced. remember how everyone hated Bush Jr. because a lot of people considered him to be a war-monger. Obama doesn't want to go to war just for the heck of it..he wants to explore other options. i'm one of those who believes that wars don't solve problems..only creates more of them..only losers in a war..no winners.
Obama is completely inexperienced.
Say what you will about Bush, but he made up for his own inexperience put together the single most talented and experienced cabinet than any President has had since FDR. Practically everyone were career-workers at their specialty. Cheney was SecDef, SecState, Sec this, Sec that. Powell made a career of interfacing with the militaries of our allies (*cough* diplomacy *cough*). Condi sat on the CFR, was director of the Middle East branch of the NSC, the foremost expert on foreign relations in the US.
And who has Obama gathered around him? Friends from Chicago, friends from law schools, friends from campaigning and as SecState--someone who is every bit as inexperienced as he is.
Obama's cabinet is a joke. And we see that playing out before our very eyes.
pls don't get me wrong. i wasn't being critical of Bush..i was just saying that even when he was President..people found plenty of things to hate about him...i guess u can't please ém all. people will always find something to complain about with every new President. he wasn't all that bad..i agree and he did have some very competent people in his administration who's career i have followed. maybe Obama's trying a new tack..trying to be less confrontationalist.
