When I try to launch the trainer I receive the following message: Windows cannot access the specified Device, Path or File. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
I'm the only user of this machine, I'm using Win 7, I tried running as admin, I tried moving the file to the Steam directory, I unzipped it in the downloads directory, I've tried everything. The note file says "run trainer first" Oh and AVG had a heart attack when I downloaded it, I had to disable AVG.
Please help. Oh and I have installed trainers from here before and they worked fine.
I turned it off, uninstalled it, deleted it went through every single application using Hijackthis and killed everything that even looked remotely like a security protocol and I get the same thing. Sorry I should have posted that originally.

Probably you have left out something, like an on-access scanner or such?
I am not an AVG user, but I use AVAST, which has 2 exclusion lists, one for system scans and one for on access scans. So you have to actually disable them both to get the trainer working, or put it under their exclusion list.

I personally don't see no other reason that an external interfearence, the trainer is fine. You have even ran it on administrator, so I guess I can't suspect that either. Have you tried disabling UAC (User Account Control).

I give up. I completely removed AVG, all services, turned of UAC, used 2 different browsers to download, changed winzip versions, moved and unzipped the file on 3 different drives, and multiple directories on each, tried compatability mode, all settings, ran Hijackthis and striped windows down to the core, still the same thing. Something is 'off' with this download, I downloaded a couple other things to look for core windows failures and they all worked fine.
why can't things be easy.
On a second thought, Im going to try downloading a different trainer and see if that works, perhaps there is a problem with whatever program 'customizes this trainer to you'.
I stand corrected. I turned off AVG, killed applications with Hijackthis and resorted to unistalling, one of the modules that I 'killed' failed to uninstall. Reinstalling AVG, then uninstalling again while all modules were functioning worked and I can now use the trainer. Sorry for the confusion.
What was that other trainer that you downloaded that you said worked?
Where did you get it from and did it have a freeze timer option?
