Ever fight one of those bosses or enemies that have one of those annoying and/or completely devastating attacks? Oh boy, haven't we all. In this thread tell others about annoying enemies or bosses and there attacks, and how to counter or avoid them, that way others who play the game can have a fighting chance at avoiding the same fate as you.
Freya and her ether strike, in Star Ocean 3. If there has ever been an unfair boss attack. This has to be at least in the top ten. On top of covering about 80% of the battle field, this attack is capable of one shoting most any member of your party, unless you broke the game using boots of prowess. She also pulls the attack off so fast that most members aren't fast enough to dodge out of it. Your best bet is too pop a bomb on her or if you have everyone else out of the way, run out of the way with Fayt and then use a long strong attack to dodge it (invincible Fayt glitch). This also works with Peppita's short strong, but it's a tad harder to pull off and master. Besides this one attack, she's relatively easy to beat once you get her pattern down, just extremely hard to kill, waaaay too much health.

Pain in the ass casts doom and you have to remove 3,390,000 HP to win the battle. To make it more difficult, Orphan is immune to all forms of damage unless it is staggered.
I just kept changing my paradigms (or rush, heal, repeat as i like to call them) then once staggered i change to Aggression, once he recovers from stagger repeat, Spoiler:
also anyone going for that "Superstar" achievement (get a 5 star battle rating after killing orphan) don't try it on the first go, its pretty bloody hard, i recommend upgrading your character's primary roles up to the max and getting a "Gold watch" which will increase teh target time.
I was gonna say the Yiazmat in FF XII, but I think The Omega Mark XII is waaay more annoying, it may be a shorter battle but it is way harder, that dude like each hit takes away like 5000 HP and you like should be really fast in this battle everyone half of a second could make a difference.

Yea I dont remember his name, Jinpachi or something strange and unrememberable. But he could do this stomach-mouth blast which takes out around 3/4 of your health, and he'd do it more than once, and it was near impossible to dodge since it was so fast and you were usually in the middle of a move when he unleashed it. I avoided it by making sure I knocked him down first move and never let him get back on his feet, but this took ages to practise since you have to beat him with each character at least twice, and some of the characters are simply out-matched and you have to hope he just never uses that move.

Yeah, that was a pretty annoying but the best way to dodge it is to simply press Up, or down 2 times.
