Yeah those are ***** of a things, I think I gave one to a bunch of people on this site years ago through Windows Live Messenger. lesson learnt - Don't click on any links sent through Instant Messengers without confirming with the person first.

I don't know if it was spy-ware or whatever the hell it was but my bank account actually got hacked into a month or so ago and they took $32.95 on two different occasions through online transactions so it does indeed happen. Fortunately the banks investigation team caught the thief and he got punished. I did end up getting my money back, but like I said... it does indeed happen.

Edit: Also, some logic? If I'm the only one online then I have complete control over my account, no one has remotely logged in and sent out spam. Has James never had one of those spambots IM him? I get them constantly but ignore them.
