I've had nothing in my USB flash drive and it still shows up, have you tried a different USB Stick? Cause I have 2 with one working and the other doesn't. Do you have a spare or something, or maybe someone you know has one.

thanks for the reply dhampy, still does not work though. i think it could be a usb related problem as i tried a back up hard drive after my first fail and that did not work either but had my friends usb drive and that seemed to work. thanks for the replies, sorry it took so long to reply.
