a)-Could someone give me an estimate of how much a pretty good gaming/video-editing pc would cost to build?
b)-Would I need anything special for it support say8-12 gigs of ram?
c)-How hard would this be? saying that it'd be my first.
as you can tell yeah I'm kind of a noob to this area never really got into playing around with any of it, but like most people I'm self taught about this stuff, and I have the motivation.

A. Every month PC Gamer has it's "Hard Stuff Trinity", a baseline Dream System, Mid-Range and Entry-Level for reference.
The Dream System this last month is $2803. But does not include a monitor.
B. A 64bit OS.
C. It's not especially difficult.

The operating system you choose to run on your computer would also effect the cost.
Also, you should consider buying high graphic/video cards and sound cards. thats my opinion.

The Dream system is now out of date though, and has been for a while since ATI 59xx cards have been out for a while :P
