wrapped up in darkness
surrounded by the chill
seen by the empress
who sits on a window sill.

no one knows what she does
in the midnight winter sky
they say she dances up there because
they see the stars dance in twine.

dressed up in emeralds
a beautiful sight to see
although she has no idea
her life is not so free.

I like the idea of making a poem about an "empress" or something but, I would like the poem to be more adventurous, abstract or clever.

Seems a bit lame.

*shrugs* i really don't care. Most of my 'poems' are songs i wrote. which are mostly about pain and suffering and death.

Everyone seems to think that if they write down some kind of basic emotion or generic narrative that they have created songs.

Pain, suffering and death you say? What a unique selection of material for 14 year olds to write about. (sticky out tongue face or something)
