I have a 2 year contract with At&t and just now close to a year into it. Am I able to use a different phone on it. The phone is a smartphone like my current and I have an unlimited plan for everything.

If you already own or are buying a different phone then all you have to do is switch out the sim cards.

If you buy from AT&T they'll probably want you to do a new contract, but if you get a phone and it supports AT&T's networks just swap the sim.
I've done that for as long as I've had a cell phone.

ok cool, my friend has the new version of the Samsung Eternity and I am going to buy it from him since he gets another upgrade with his sisters plan, and I just want a new one without paying the $300 price for the phone
