No I mean Blizzard owns Activision.
And is in turn owned by Vivendi, the French company which began its life as a sewer contractor.
Depends on what you mean by "gaming company". Do you mean who's the better publisher? In which case, half the companies on your list don't belong there because they don't publish. Do you mean who's better at making games? In which case, several of the companies on your list don't belong there because they don't actually make games.
Edit- And Sierra and Activision are the same company, and have been for some time.

*cough* Activision and Blizzard *cough*
Sierra owns Valve, Relic and Eidos.
And EA owns 25% of Ubisoft. Tis true :P

Sierra does not own Valve and Square Enix owns Eidos. I just made a little research.
Should have mentioned Square Enix instead of Eidos.
Its a debacle.
Square a developer, Eidos published for them on the PC market, Enix merged with Square, bought Eidos. But Sierra has a bigger stake in shares in Eidos than Square Enix.
But for some silly legal agreement, Sierra allowed Square Enix full control. Madness I tell you. Sierra continues to get profit of course.
Then Sierra bought Relic and killed off Homeworld all together. Will never forgive Sierra for that blunder.
There's a better Homeworld. It's called "Sins of a Solar Empire". Stardock FTW.
