Okay, before I needlessly throw away two 295s and more money, how does the GTX480 compare to the GTX295?
The 295's are fine at the moment, obviously the 470's will blow them out the water also. But at the moment in terms of gaming the 295's can stand on their own for a couple of years yet.
No idea what the future holds for PC gaming, it could get worse or better.
Dang that costs alot.
What is cheaper but is better then my NVIDIA GeForce 7050 / NVIDIA nForce 610i
I'd say a gazilion cards are...
The reports of the temperatures etc are through early review cards, obviously not the final product.
Average the 470 single GPU has a 30% increase of performance over a dual GPU 5970. The 480 around 45%.
The general consensus is that the 470 will need at least 450W-500W. Obviously not as much with 2 cards SLI'd. So for 3 cards running at same time, a PSU of perhaps 1200W may suffice with everything else.
Temps have been reported to go high, but again that is with preview models so not the final one, plus with different manufacturers there will be different cooling systems in place.
thanx man. i'm only worried about the temp. and the power consumption under full 3D load. price is no issue. i do have a CM1250W psu. so i guess i shouldn't be worried..right?
