    I feel the same.

And the child has not done anything worth hitting for, he is just being over-ambitious. He just needs to be taught about how law works. If he remains stubborn, then well he is just 13, and the world is not going to change at any cost.

Life is best for those who enjoy it, difficult for those who analyze it and worst for those who criticize it.

Harry Potter is a big achievement by age 4, and if you say you'll reading Tom Clancy books by the time you were 4 I guess you were a super genius as well, most kids by that age have just learnt/learning there ABC's and at most reading books where a single page is taken up by The Boy Sat Down, with visual aids of a boy sitting down on the same page.

As for the kid, as much I personally would disagree with him going to South Africa and would NOT let him go if this was my kid, but I say "go for it, Don't let them tell you what you CAN'T do!"

If you can't read to a level sufficient to understand Harry Potter by age 4, you may have a learning disability. Or lazy parents.

I could also dismantle a .45 by the time I started elementary school. But that's a result of being an Army brat whose parents used their subordinates as baby sitters.

    As for hitting your kids.

Depends on what you mean by hitting.

Beating up your own kid is universally bad.

But corporal punishment has been proven by countless studies to work and to result in more success when the child grows up. All these "fix your child's behavior" videos they're hawking on TV these days are lessons on how to spank your kid. Humans learn behavior by pain and when you associate bad behavior with pain, then humans won't do it.

I'm with Dhampy on this one.

This child has no place putting himself in such imminent peril as for him to be kidnapped and sold into child sex slavery, which WILL happen, almost 100% guaranteed, if he goes to south Africa this very day. Then all his intelligence will be wasted, he'll get HIV/AIDS, and die at 22 instead of getting his PhD.

Corporal punishment is the way I'd go with my own child, and most parents who don't "believe" in corporal punishment usually end up raising the scum of society (Either you're too soft and they think they can get away with anything with a tap on the wrist, or you're too hard and they just don't give a flying **** because they know whatever they do they're gonna get hurt).

The kid should lighten up a bit. I dunno why if he's so smart he doesn't know about the massive amounts of child sex trafficking there and how even with his mom there he'd get caught and his mom caught or killed too.

Learn an instrument, a sport, make friends so you won't be a reclusive sociopath at 22. Your education will go to waste if you end up like Hannibal Lecter or Jack the Ripper.
    Yo.

One of his areas of study is evolutionary biology.
