I had the same problem, right clicking the trainer and running as admin overcame the problem for me. I have win7 64bit, and the steam copy. Hopefully that helps!
i never meant to insult someone or i dont know what cheathappens is,but i think i am not the only one having the problem with the uk steam version(i would say there are hundreds of members downloaded the uk steam version)so if its possible u give it a shot,'cause i downloaded another trainer on another site and its working just fine!

@anastasis83 -- If you downloaded a trainer from another site and it's working, then you don't have the REAL Steam version of the game, you have a pirated version.

@pwizard i dont have a pirated copy of the game and even if i had a pirated one i would never post anything here!like many people here,they are extremelly happy to be in cheathappens(and thats why we pay for that,like me the past 2years)and i dont want to be misunderstood! i am just saying,many people have the same problem with me!in us steam version they dont seem to have problem playing the game with trainer!
