    Hi all,

This is more likely a problem with my system, but I'm hoping someone may have a solution for an odd problem.

I have the Steam version of DAO, and have had the Awakening expansion on pre-order. Finally it was released, downloaded, and seemed to work fine (except you have to disable a lot of "downloadable content" to get around certain bugs with scripts not activating).

I went to use the Steam 1.03 trainer for Awakening, so pressed F1 and... Nothing. Just the faintest "flash" from the "Run Game and then press F1" bar in the trainer.

I thought I'd selected F-Lock or something - but then I realised this is a desktop PC with no F-LOCK button. Also, when you press F1 after quitting DAO-A you get the "cannot find game" voice.

I also tried the other 1.03 trainers (DAO 1.03 and DAOA 1.03 retail) and the same thing occurs.

Has anyone else come across this, or even better, got a solution?

(Only other problem I have is with the game it's self, as I cannot see any character if I try to create a new one).

    So...
    1. I don't think this is a trainer problem.
    2. I've read through the trainer troubleshooting guide. Nothing fits.
    3. Yes both my copy of DAO and DAOA are 100% legit from Steam.
    4. 1.03 Steam Trainer did work previous to install of awakening.
    5. I can't think of anything for point 5.
    6. This is not an F-Lock issue.
    7. I really don't want to have to delete all local content and download the entire thing again

    Cheers everyone/anyone.

You may have already done this, but have you right clicked on DAO in steam and browsed to 'Local Files' Tab and done the 'Verify integrity of game cache'. Also check the fragmentation and if necessary 'Defragment cache files'

Thanks mate - but I'm in a mid-darkspawn blood lust killing fever, so I'll do that next time I restart the game and keep you posted. Thanks for the reply

Just thought I'd check in with this problem - I checked the files as suggested but it said everything was okay. I don't know if this is related to 'mod' files I've used - on several occassions a glitch appears where justice's speaches just show a hill or grass (?!) rather than what he is saying.

    <>

For example, one minute I was talking to the architect (who fortunately didn't talk as much crap as he did in the Matrix) and the next minute I was fighting my own friend Justice with no explanation.

Also, after the end credits roll following the grusome death of mother, her death seen plays again without any explantion.

If anyone has any explanations I'd be very greatful.

By the way, I'm not whinging about the trainer - I think Cheat Happens rocks (and I'm stunned that someone came up with the business idea!). Keep up the good work you guys, otherwise I'd probably get bored with gaming.

Now how weird is this: I restarted my machine, and everything works as normal with the trainer. It was all the more strange because other trainers (eg Mass Effect 2) were working fine.

Ah well - if anyone else gets this issue then, try restarting your machine! (I suspect the daft Vista/W7 security also had something to do with this issue - I disabled that as well)
