Haha, not at all. When the assassin's creed 2 servers went down, who do you think were the only people able to play the game. Oh yea, pirates.

This server-connection DRM is getting cracked on release day, just like every other "anti-piracy" program. The only people getting hurt are the people who buy the game only to find out it does not work.

i have ordered this game. i guess asking this now would be considered stupid. but i have to. can i activate this game from India? has India been activated on its server?

My problem with this system is that, if you just bought the game (like I did today) and you want to play ASAP, what the hell are you supposed to do if the server/site that handles registration is down?

... Oh, look at that, is IS down! (as of 1:10pm EST)

I can understand wanting to try and curb pirating, but in my mind, integrating the registration system into the launcher would have been a good a good idea.
