ok heres the deal:
i have 1280x1024 monitor
as its aspect is 5:4 i have issues with games being streched vertically

i used nVidia controll pannel to make custom res for 960, 800, 768 and 720 resolutions using my native as template

it was fairy easy

so heres my querry:
what values do i need to enter in creating custom res to make 1024x768 be dislayed corectly?

i tryed several times and always failed

That is strange, since 1280x1024 is a good resolution. Mostly all games recently support that. And yes its a 5:4.

1024x768 is a 4:3 resolution.

Is your Monitor a TV also? If so not many of those support 5:4 and 4:3 resolutions well, and favor things like 1400x900 instead.

it does suport 4:3 but it gets streched

i want to make custom res that would be displayed corectly (corect size+black boards) like i did for widescreen

and not everybody plays latest games
i have certain titles for whitch 1024x768 is max

and about 1400something: i refuse to go for widescreen monitor

Its definetly just a monitor then? And not a TV also?

Why it gets stretched I have no idea, unless you were playing about with the graphic card options.

Not always, unless it was changed in the options to not or fit to screen. Or during Windows Install when it sets itself to not fit to screen.

And no use doing that face to me, its obvious you havent studied this subject for an amount of time to realise what I said is true.

So now I shall not help you, I was trying to find out what type of monitor you had so then I could go from there, you couldnt even answer that for me. So no more help from me. Tara.
