Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War 2 - Chaos Rising Message Board  

So I just bought the Chaos Rising, and inside was a little paper add thing telling me to register the game (which I've done) and then run the Microsoft Games for Windows application, log in to my account and enter a serial to access the bonus gear.

That worked, but I when I went to download it, it came up with error number 80004005 - error downloading file.

I click the "details button" and it says

The data is invalid.


Anyone else having this problem? I'm pretty ****ed off about it!

something wrong with your internet connection or your games for windows live client.

re-install games for windows live and then try.

I have the exact problem. I got the wargear from THQ site working fine (can get six items from www.thq.com if you register your game on the website), but get the same error with the corruption edition. I think it might have something to do with the time zones and the codes might not yet have been activated (have to wait for US guys to be up and running first). I'll give it a shot tomorrow after work.

I've reinstalled Games for Windows LIVE and the same thing just kept happening.

Kind of annoying that I buy this "special edition" and I don't get anything "special" with it

same exp. kinda sux, $70 bucks and it doesnt work also fail on last hero crash issue. first time i THQ fails me.

Never realized that there was any "special edition" for this game, and since when was this small expac 70 dollars?! o.O Even the gold edition of DoW 2 which has both games is only about 40 dollars here in the states. As for that error, I've had it before when I was trying to reinstall the old special wargear for DoW 2, turns out that if its linked to the account steam will automatically download it for you so try checking a new campaign, can't be one already in progress. If that doesn't work then I'm not sure what else is there.

PS Don't try the tech support for GFWL, they don't have a clue as to whats going on.

US$ and Aussie$ is at different exchange rates so 70 down under is about the same as 40 us. back to topic i haven't experienced that error (yet) maybe I'm just lucky :P (yeah right)
