When i get to the collector base and when we get to the main chambers where all the capitives are Tali always dies, what am i doing wrong? I have played it through 3 times now and the same thing happens all the time, please help

Who are you choosing to do what jobs?

Gain all the loyalties, research special ship enhancements and upgrades and kick some Collector ass. The other researches like weapon upgrades help you to kill your enemies faster and it would be nice if you had them. If you are choosing wrong people for wrong jobs, there's always been a plan that has worked for me:
Tali for vents, Garrus or Miranda for second squad leadership, Samara for barriers, Mordin for escort duty and Garrus for diversion team. I hear that if you chose Miranda for the diversion team it would all be alright, though I haven't tried it.

I use Legion for the vents garrus to lead the second team, jack as my biotic and Grunt to lead the survivors to the ship.

i use tali for the vents job, i have all the loyalties, Samara for the second squad leadership, by the time i reach the main chamber Tali dies

I have the strategy guide and it says two people will die randomly.Its encoded in the game.It doesn't happen all the game is coded to kill you in two sequences..Its right in the official strategy guide if you don't believe me.

thank you, i changed the team so that miranda lead the team instead of samara, then it worked, but the professor still died

Did you send the professor on escort duty? If not I suggest you try it. Use the plan I gave you and see if anyone dies... if anyone dies at all then I have no idea what to do.
