You need to search for a exact value, using a float search. then its very easy to find.
Money you can do by doing a search for the exact value with 4byte search
(hope that makes sense im still using Tsearch)

I have the same problem.
Pause give your orders unpause.
That's my method anyway.

I have found a way to edit your ships, not sure if anyone else knows about it.
Goto your data then game folder make a copy of carcasses then open with a text editor, notepad or wordpad.
Search for the ship you want to edit, I search for player then check what ship it is.
Then edit whatever you want, don't bother with the amount of guns, missiles or systems, editing them has no effect.
I don't think messing about with any of the guns, missiles or systems, in the modules file, is worth it because I think it effects the enemies equipment as well.
You will only notice the changes when you drag a ship to the hangar on your mother ship.
