Other than FPS and RTS, and maybe fighting games (but than again you can use an arcade like thingy instead) the keyboard mouse is useless. Playing let's say Assassin's Creed.. with a keyboard is absolutely horrible. As I said, it really depends the type of game.
I agree, racing games too play better on gamepads.

Get a steering wheel and pedals like the rest of the civilized world.
That's like complaining that flight sims aren't great with a keyboard when you should be using a flight stick.

Tried that, the game is overly sensitive for the gaming wheel.
Just steer a tiny bit to the left, and see the car doing a 360 spin!
Maybe I could not afford a branded (And a better) one.
360 controller I would say. The army even use them to control remote aircraft.
That's not much of an endorsement. They can use any USB controller that has Windows drivers.
