You place the trainer icon on your desktop, right click the icon, click on properties and click on the compatability tab and click on the run as administrator, and click apply.
Make sure that when u double click on trainer icon that you have to give permission for the trainer to work, thats how you know that you runiing it as an admisistrator.
Dont' know if you ever got your game to work, but make sure on the menu screen that you pick a mode that doesnt' use the same numbers as the trainer. I had to switch from total war to campain to get mine to work.
I have tried uing most of the Empire: Total War trainers but none of them work. I go to try and start the Grand Campaign, with the trainer activated, and after about 1/4 through the loading bar the game just crashes and goes back to the windows screen. This is extremely irritating because I love the game!
Does anyone have an awnser? I'm sure other people have been having the same problem, so surely someone has come up with a fix by now!

Probably you have a different version (STEAM might have updated the game....AGAIN!).
I hate it that Steam makes me download the updates for the game before I can play it. I just want to play it, not have to automatically download updates for it.
