We just got our second Gold. This one in womens snowboarding. Mielle Ricker, she won a huge margin, looked like several meters.

They were talking about the Zamboni on CTV today. The experimental one kept breaking down, they were sent another one by Calgary. That's a 1000km drive, why they couldn't get one from somewhere in BC I have no clue.

And now there's a whole controversy over the Olympic flame being surrounded by fence. The organizers say they're going to do something that will let people take their pictures with the flame.

Letterman was getting all excited over the Georgian death saying that you should be able to make a mistake in a game. Idiot, luge isn't a game, it's a sport where you fly down a ice tube at up to 140km/h. You do not make mistakes at those speeds, it isn't a game, pool is a game, monopoly is a game, luge is an intensely dangerous sport. When you see someone die at it you feel sorry but you don't get shocked, you'd be a moron to be shocked.

Canada is playing trap hockey against Norway. Bad idea. They went with Luongo in goal so they'll give up random goals to an aggressive team, which is how Norway is playing.

Luongo gave up four goals before being pulled on Sunday vs Minnesota, which has one of the weakest offenses in the league.

    They should have started Brodeur.

There is always a huge upset in the preliminaries. This could be it.

    Although it shouldn't be.
In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'

Norway's got a pretty good goalie, hasn't had any trouble saving every shot so far. But Canada missed several good opportunities for goals, passes just didn't go right while the players had a open shot on net.

And as I'm writing this Iginla just scored.

    And again, Heatley and Pronger.

They totally changed strategy for the second period. Pronger scored.

    They're getting slaughtered now.

I heard the Canadian coach was going nuts yelling at them after the first period for not scoring once.

I'm guessing the upset will come against Sweden, the #3 overall national team (Russia being #1 and Canada being #2), and will be at the hands of either Germany or Finland.

An elevated platform was built beside the Olympic Flame last night. Now people can go onto it and take their pictures, before they could only do it through a chain link fence.

I just don't get how someone on the planning committee could possibly think surrounding the Flame with a fence was a good idea.
