A keyboard might be more precise for some but I learned how to play games with a controller and that's how I play best. A keyboard mouse combo just doesn't feel natural in my hands.
That point is moot though. You would be saying the opposite if the first game you started with were used with a keyboard. Just because you are used to it now, doesn't mean you can't be used to something else later. You think I was used to swinging my controller around when I first picked up a Wiimote? No. Now I'm picking off headshots on Call of Duty like flies.
My point wasn't that one is better than the other. Simply that one feels more natural in my hands.
Playing a game with a keyboard and mouse is like trying to write left handed for me. A right-handed person and a left-handed person can write just as good as each other, same goes for keyboards and controllers.
That's my point though. Te only reason you feel that way is because you have been using controllers longer.
Had the first game you started playing been on a computer, a keyboard would probably feel more natural to you now.
It's all just a matter of perspective.

it is a matter of perspective. those that played their very first game with a controller will always find controllers easier to play with but guys like me who started playing games with a keyboard will always prefer keyboards. as far as precision and speed is concerned..the keyboard and mouse is way ahead. in my opinion the future of pc gaming isn't as bleak as its made out to be. people have been forecasting the doom of pc gaming for many years now and i'm yet to see that happen. pc gaming is alive and well barring a few hiccups.
Mouse and Keyboard is the ultimate combination for FPS's. I maintain that MW2 is as good on the PC as it is on the Xbox. What redeems to Xbox is the control mapping and the vibration, it's a solid run-through overall. But when it comes to hardcore competition, PC beats consoles in FPS's, hands down.
But you have to realise with the different genres of games out there, the PC's really tailored to RTS and FPS. So what about the sport, adventure, family and [insert other game category]'s games?
The reason why the consoles are pulling ahead is because the games are tailored to the controller more to the mouse and keyboard, so it feels more natural. You can play a wider variety of games and hence appeal to a wider audience of people. And aside from the geek crowd that is the PC gamer market, most don't relish the idea of splitting their computer open and installing a new card/processor/RAM module every once in awhile to meet the demands of the game they want to play. Consoles are stress-free and much easier in this respect.
i agree with u. for hardcore FPSs and TPSs...a keyboard/mouse beats a game-pad hands down and yes the reason y consoles r pulling ahead is because the game's r tailored for the controller and not so much for the mouse/keyboard.
