You do not need a mod chip to edit a save game. There are two way you can edit a save, one would be to hex edit the save which would take some time to find the right hex number to edit so you don't corrupt your save and the second would be to use a program that is made so it can find the exp, money, skill, etc and we can manually enter the amount of exp, money, skill we want. Also since we have such a skilled person like Caliber I don't think it would be that difficult for him to make a save editor.

I dont know if Cal knows the 360 heirarchy too well, and would have to read up on it.

If people dont have a memory cards With USB connection to it, then how will they transfer over saves? Ahhh..

So they would need a modchip and a editor burned to a disc in a format that the 360 would boot up.

A transfer cable is very cheap, I got one off ebay along with a Microsoft 64MB memory card for like $15. So all you would need to do is plug the transfer cable to your PC usb port and insert the memory card to the transfer cable and load up a program called xpolrer360 or xport 360 and extract the save. Then all we need is for Caliber to make a program to edit our save from the pc. After that rehash/resign the save and insert it back to your memory card or hdd and that's it. Also modchip would probably cost more and time, and not everybody know how to soldier a mod chip on I for one don't know how so the easy way would be to just buy a transfer cable and a memory card.

    /facepalm

Not ALL memory cards have USB connections on them. Which makes transfering files quite difficult.

And as said Caliber great that he is with ASM, may not understand how to compile up File Editors, or understand the 360 fully for certain encrypted saves. So there is a possibility that it wont happen.

What do you mean "Not ALL memory cards have USB connections on them"? Are you saying that some of Microsoft memory card can't use the transfer cable? If so then buy the one that can use the transfer cable. Any way it would be nice if he could make a program for the pc cause I mostly play game on the Xbox 360 now, and the only time I play PC game if an exclusive title was release on the pc.

I know Cal well, but I dont think 360 file types etc is his speciality. No matter if its run on the PC (of course) but he still has to...

    1. Have an XBOX 360
    2. Understand the file structures and encryption
    3. Looking for specific values in a save game file is a lot more difficult and time consuming than searching for values on a PC game, due to the fact different encryptions means slow methods of changed value - Save game, goto PC load up find changes, back to 360 and do something save game, goto PC etc etc etc

Needle in a haystack comes to mind.
    4. I am not sure, but he may not know how to compile a program to do the job in the end, im sure with some time and examples and tutorials he could, but what he does he really doesnt have the time.
    5. We should let Cal say more on the matter.

I think hes saying they make a cable that converts a microsoft 360 memory card plug to USB I could be wrong but thats what I got out of it

Hmmm I think I see what you mean.. No Idea there was something like that out there, considering the power issue from USB > Whatever connection the 360 memcards have. Not sure also if the USB conn's have enough voltage to power the memcard to be read.
