Near the beginning of the game you back in time and I have to race this german guy. I cannot beat this guy. What is the deal? I have raced him several times and my car is not fast enough to catch him. What do I have to do or what did I not do before that race? It seems that my car is not fast enough to catch him. Let me know what I need to do, please.
bug? he slows down once he is ahead enough and you overtake all the others, then you can catch up to him and trigger the sequence to progress the story.
if that ain't working properly try the race without using the trainer.
Hmmm...I was not using the trainer. It just keeps saying that the german guy wins and than it asks me to retry or load game. I am not sure if it is a bug. It seems odd. Has there been a new patch out yet for this game?
Or maybe the car isn't just slow but you have troubles overcoming opponents within a lap? Just don't slow down on corners, lean onto others until your behind Dieker and as said above he should slow down.

Yeah i have the same problem. i have tried to look around on the web for an answer to no avail.
i tried to start a new account but it seems to do the same thing. still cannot win against him even though i am miles ahead. so i will post this question to the other fantastic guys here who have done this race:
When you overtake Kurt Dierker, does the yellow arrow disappear or does it stay above him? it seems that this could be the problem. Does this happen with you too mvanlone? when i overtake him it just seems to stay above him.

i beat him easy...no hassles there at all. it just took me a few minutes and one try.

In the country races I usually use the gestapo cruiser. It takes a few times, but because I just cheat and start shooting as soon as it says go, I end up wiping out the competition.
